Am I the first? I can't see another November thread.

Ok, my stats, I am 32, have 1 dd (2.1) and edd is 03/11/2011.

I had a mc at Christmas but feel ok about this pregnancy, though I only found out 3 days ago so I may get a bit more panicked as time passes.

Anyone else want to join me in a November baby thread?

Hi Loup, fingers crossed for you.
I agree with everyone about a scan, can they not send you? we have an 'early pregnancy unit' at our hospital where they send people for early/dating scans. Don't know if there's anything similar with your area??
Take care

rightontime · 15/03/2011 13:38

So sorry for you loup still got FX just in case.

bumpsnow I was sick yesterday and it did make me feel a bit better but I still felt rubbish all day. I think once I'm in the cycle of needing to eat but not wanting to because I feel sick it is hard to get out of it but I have been grazing all day. Been eating a few dry cheerios constantly, a few wotsits, at lunch I had a toasted teacake. I am definitely feeling that little and often is the way to go.

cep · 15/03/2011 13:38

well basically epu won't scan me until i'm 7 weeks, which is next week. i have to do a pg test on friday to make sure it's still showing a strong +ve if it is i can have a scan on Monday. so i'm in limbo. i've contacted work to say i don't want to be in this week (they love me after being off throwing up last week) i just want to stay at home with my feet up, i know ultimately won't stop anything, but at least i'd feel like i've done what i can. anyway they said that's fine am having it annual leave. My dr's never seem to take blood, they didn't last time either. oh and when leaving dr's helped a large old lady up who'd fallen over she had a muscular wasting disease so all her weight was on her dh and me....so much for taking it easy.

cep · 15/03/2011 13:39

loup sorry bleeding has started again. Sad

DirgeInVegas · 15/03/2011 13:43

Oh Cep that's really shit. I can't believe they'd make you wait. You're right to take the time off, look after yourself and not think about work. Emotional health is as important as physical.

So you have to wait until Monday? Couldn't they do a vaginal scan now? I have a friend who works in a fertility clinic and she said all the patients get scanned at 6 weeks but usually a vaginal scan.

OP posts:
rightontime · 15/03/2011 13:45

Cep how awful to have to wait so long. Glad work are letting you take the time off even if it is as holiday. Take it easy hun and no more helping old ladies.

suziechan · 15/03/2011 13:48

Sorry to hear that Cep...how horrible being in limbo. good idea about the time off - chill out and have some 'me' time.
Dirge - yeah, I've just had a scan today (and i'm just coming up to 7 weeks) so it can be done, but to be fair, the dr said you can't really see a lot (bean is far too small to take many measurements)
but the reassurance instead of all the waiting around is surely worth it.

cep · 15/03/2011 13:52

apparently not, i'm sure last time i wasn't quite 7 weeks, and they did the vag scan then as well. oh well maybe i had hit the 7 weeks memory's fading now. the dr was quite matter of fact, "1 in 6 probably 1 in 4, quite normal" etcetc, oh f**k off. sorry just wound me up that she wasn't very reassuring. oh and the "we don't normally investigate unless you've had 3 as individually the risk is the same" Shock great, thanks for that!

DirgeInVegas · 15/03/2011 14:01

Yes, marvellous, makes you feel loads better eh Cep? I do wish sometimes they would remember that cold statistics aren't necessarily what a worried mother needs.

I think you should plan some nice things to do on your week off.

If you're in the mood to be cheered up now, there is a great thread I can link to?

Suzie did your scan go well?

I had one at 6 weeks and they could at least tell me that the gestational sac looked normal etc which was some reassurance. As it turned out, the vaginal scan showed a mini, mini baby and a heartbeat so whilst it's rare it does happen. When I had my mmc they were able to tell me that the gestational sac was losing shape and they could see bleeding. All indicators of loss. So I suppose what I am saying is even though it might be too soon to see a baby sometimes what you can see is also an indicator.

Anyway, what do I know? I'm not a doctor. I'm probably too emotionally invested in this kind of thing.

OP posts:
cep · 15/03/2011 14:07

what thread's that?

have to admit i'm hopefull but not expecting much.

DirgeInVegas · 15/03/2011 14:15

Stay hopeful cep - there's plenty of reasons to be.

Thread here (with link to ebay) apologies if you've seen it but its made my day!

Dirge You have made my day. Thank you. :)

suziechan · 15/03/2011 14:44

Oh Cep, dr sounds awful! last thing you need! dirge is right, maybe make some nice plans for your week off...

Dirge - thanks, yes scan was all good. it was more of a dating one as I have PCOS, which makes my periods long and irregular and really difficult to pinpoint an EDD!

cep · 15/03/2011 15:10

dirge that is bizarre...ad very original. Grin i'm glad he's getting bids on it though. not sure what i can do to be honest haven't got much money may just watch films and eat rubbish. Smile

suzie glad scan went well.

goldmaple · 15/03/2011 15:10

cep too bad you have to wait for your scan! Good for you for taking a few days off to relax! FX that you get a nice strong BFP on Friday!

loup hope you get high Hcg levels on Thursday!! (I am right in thinking higher is better?)

mrsarch and clipclop I'm glad you two brought up the 'opposite of constipation' talk. I am surprised because I thought constipation was normal but I am definitely not having it!!

terrys how was your scan/dr appt?

lktoday5 · 15/03/2011 15:27

cep sending you lots of positive, feet up, thinking of you vibes

delilahbelle · 15/03/2011 16:27

Hey all, can I join? Got my BFP today, along with some spotting, so don't know whether to be overjoyed or terrified.

I am 4 weeks today with #1, my EDD is the 22nd November.

We had fertility treatment to get here, it's our last chance, so I am keeping everything crossed.

rightontime · 15/03/2011 16:36

Hi Delilah Spotting at the time your period is due is normally put down to implantation bleeding as far as I know. Congratulations, FX for you. x

Loup23 · 15/03/2011 16:41

Congrats delilah i hope all goes well for you!

cep that's rubbish you've got to wait and the dr being so insensitive. I had the benefit that the dr was lovely but made me want to cry AGAIN! I'm starting to feel cramps coming which in some ways is better as if I am m/c i'd rather it was over with. I will have the HcG done again on thursday to make sure and the dr has said she will refer for a scan to check things either way but she said the EPU "may not rush to see you unless it's ectopic" so I guess it's just sit and wait - bless DH who is all fired up to just give it another go - it's blimmin exhausting all this!

Good luck for all, if it is a m/c I hope I manage to get pg again soon but I will be sure to check in on all the Nov Mums to be! x

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 15/03/2011 17:36

OMG this thread moves fast! I'm asleep at 9 pm and don't get to come on in the day time, so I'm not sure how I'm going to keep up! Is anyone else fainting a lot? (Like 4 times today). I'm only just 4 weeks since my miscarriage, and I'm worrying an awful lot. I was 6 weeks last time, but I think the pregnancy ended a lot sooner than that really, I had symptoms which stopped at 4 and a half weeks. This time I just have a better feeling about it, I don't know why. God I hope I'm right.

I'm a teacher, so the fainting every time I stand up is a bit of a problem. I had one of my teenagers kick off today (I work in a difficult school). He has all sorts of problems, and I usually handle him quite well, but he is much much bigger than me, and is often very aggressive and dangerous on occasion. Today he was throwing chairs at a locked cupboard, trying to break in after I locked his phone away because he was watching porn on it with his hand down his trousers. I'm unreasonable, I know, lol. It really shook me up when he started going off on one, because he only goes one way usually and I though what if he goes for me, or accidentally hits me with something he's trying to throw? He has punched me in the past (aiming for another pupil), so it isn't impossible.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/03/2011 17:44

Firstly lizzy OMG at the lad in your class!!! Am shocked and you must have the patience of a saint. Maybe you have to tell someone at school so you don't get hurt. They have a duty of care to you.

Secondly, ahem, farting 4 times a day, well, how do I put it - that's fairly normal for me when not pg!!! Grin. But I generally work alone, so sorting it out is easy too Grin

Sibella1 · 15/03/2011 17:51

Goodness LizzyMathsWhizzy sounds like you are having a rough time at work, and then fainting on top of it!

I'm not fainting but feeling terrible, nauseau but trying not to vomit, unable to decide what I want to eat, so tired that I can barely do anything. Yesterday I had a nap and my alarm didn't go off and I just made it to school on time to pick up my kids with a big red sleepmark on my cheek!!

It seems to be much worse than with my first two DD's - not sure if its because I'm older or what. I used to work when I was pregnant with them, would definitely not be able to do it now.

Having dreadful dreams and restless nights. Went to the GP last week and asked for an early scan and surprisingly she said yes, so I'm going on Friday.
Wish me luck!!

suziechan · 15/03/2011 17:56

Hey Loup, hang on in there! FX for you (bless your DH being fired up already!)

and hello Lizzy! My god, that boy in your class (!) Is there anyone you can tell in confidence to keep an eye out for you?

dirgeinvegas · 15/03/2011 17:59

Oh fab news Sibella

I too am finding this pg much harder than the last but its only 3 years since I was pg with dd so I am not sure its age. I just find I can't function. If I was working full time I would be done for. Plus I work from home which gives me some flexibility to work around my nausea and tired. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Sorry MrsAR but I am Grin Grin at your farting post to Lizzys fainting question.

Welcome Lizzy & delilah

Loup that was one of the reasons I wanted an early scan when I started bleeding. With my MMC I had ms up until the ERPC (although not like I have them now) which felt a little unfair. The baby had stopped developing at 5 weeks but I had the ERPC at 9 weeks. I didn't waste another month or more waiting for my dating scan only to find another mmc. It's hard isn't it, the waiting. You just want to know now. I am keeping everything crossed for your HCG levels.

Hello all, this thread looks to be very busy and full of newly pregnant ladies but thought I would mark my place as I got my BFP on Thursday of last week (don't think it's sunk in yet!)

I'm 32, this would be my first child and my EDD is 17th November (clipclop we are on the same timeline for EDD and BFP!) Have been TTC for coming up to a year and a half and had kind of thought it might not happen for us so this is a big deal (and lovely surprise!)

No symptoms (at all) for me yet, but am only 4+5 so plenty of time for that I'm sure. I did another CB Digital indicator this morning and it's increased to 2-3 so am feeling ok about it at the moment.

Have only read back a few pages (otherwise I would have been here forever!) but am hoping to keep up more when we get a nwe thread, which at this rate will be fairly soon!

Cep and Loup so sorry you are having a rough time of it but am keeping my fingers crossed that you get some good news soon.
