I have to get up for a wee EVERY night without fail so am jealous of you Jbells. Last night I actually wee'd 3 times before I feel asleep cuz baby was placing a well aimed kick directly on my bladder approx every 10 seconds.

Sorry you're feeling so tired :( If you can grab a nap in the day time I find it REALLY helps even if just for half an hour

Moomin- you should have eaten pie for tea, then you would not feel hungry you would feel full of pie.

NurseSunshine · 07/03/2011 18:47

(I ate pie for my tea Grin )

Evening all,

I had the worst nights sleep of my life last night so am a very grumpy bear today Sad

Seem to have hurt my back/hip tidying the garden yesterday so couldn't get comfy last night and after a bit of google self diagnosis think I may have carpal tunnel syndrome (but am more than likely wrong on that front!) so when my back wasn't hurting from turning over my hands were giving me serious gip and waking me up too.

Then when I woke up this morning had the worst cramp I've ever had in my calf and haven't been able to walk properly all day so have hobble about feeling sorry for myself.

Sorry, self obsessed rant over. Am going to have fajitas for dinner, a nice warm bath and might sneak a couple of ibuprofen as I'm still inside the 28 week mark for 4 more days and fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow :)

Nurse I started looking into childcare last week and got a bit scared by it all! I'm thinking about having a chat with a couple of local childminders and trying to get my name down in principle but don't actually know what I want to do about going back. Due to holiday cover my boss is too busy to sit down and discuss anything this week so might put it off for another week anyway!

Midwife wise I've seen mine twice plus someone different who covered my booking appointment. When I booked my next appointment I was told I would be seeing someone different going forward but the receptionist was a bit cagey about why! Feel a bit better knowing lots of people get swapped about.

Mmmm pie Grin

Poor you banana :( take it nice and easy this evening and get an early night, you'll feel better tomorrow :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/03/2011 19:24

I second the cheapo knickers.
Nurse - you want ones that you don't mind throwing away and you will bleed copious amounts for the first couple of days after the birth. I was changing mattresses pads every hour straight after giving birth Shock

Primark/Asda/Tesco are a good place to buy.

Getting so many kicks now!!!

knackered76 · 07/03/2011 19:35

Will catch up properly later as have to go to ds pre school in a minute for parents evening. Just wanted to share my knicker story from 1st pregnancy!

I went to an Ann Summers party a friend was having, all much fun (was about 24 weeks at the time). Got to the bit where you look through the magazine and decide if you want anything, luckily for me there were plenty of people buying so didn't feel bad that I wasn't. However the lady running the party clearly spotted that I wasn't getting anything and homed in on me asking if I fancied anything. I pointed out that being pregnant was not the best time to be investing in sexy underwear and I had no idea what size I would be after the birth, etc. She then enthusiastically flicked through the pages and found something she thought would be 'prefect' for me . . . . crotchless knickers . . . . . followed by the comment they would be great for maintaining some dignity during the birth. I did ask whether I was understanding her correctly and she was suggesting I gave birth wearing crotchless knickers, yes I apparently did hear her properly Grin. Oh followed by the fact they had a matching bra which had red ribbons down the front that I could undo for breast feeding!!!!! Had to hand it to the lady, she did try and find the opportunity Grin

NurseSunshine · 07/03/2011 20:03

Oh jeez! More like how to remove any shred of dignity you had! I know the midwives and docs have "seen it all before" but I think that's one they would discussing over coffee in the staff room for weeks to come!

moomin156 · 07/03/2011 20:16

is a whole bag of mini eggs good for you.........they were scrummy though LOL

Clarkiee · 07/03/2011 20:18

Ha ha- giving birth in crotchless knickers from Ann Summers!!!!! As if!

I've bought some disposible knickers but they looked so fowl (plus the sizes weren't right 10-12 or 14-16 I'm usually 12 so do I get potentially tight ones or ones that might fall down Blush) that I've since bought a pack from Asda and I've got a few pairs of knickers in my drawer that have probably seen better days- TMI- so can use them.

ttl my bust has gone from 34C to 34DD and they don't look that different to me either. Not sure if its compared to my bump or because my 'areola' (yuk hate that word) takes up a third of my boob Blush. Wow jasmine you started off the same as me and now yours are a 36G!!

How is everyone sleeping? Sorry you had a bad night banana. I've not been getting up to wee or anything but I usually wake up a couple of times to re-adjust. Annoying as I used to sleep right through (suppose those days will be long gone soon Grin).

Thanks monica might look into NCT twin things. NHS in my area usually do twin parent craft classes but they are short staffed or something not they're not currently running them- huh Angry. Going to a TAMBA talk on Thursday- quite looking forward to it!

Oh and waves to Calgary (only just caught up on weekend events).

I started off with different MW's but since extra complications (which fingers crossed turned out not to be) I've had the same one. She's so lovely. With her being based at the hospital I won't be seeing her after the birth. Do you still see MW after the birth or is it all Health vistor? And where does the health vistor come from because when I move the doctors is at the bottom of my road, very handy, so defo want to transfer to there (especially as it's the docs I went to as a child).

Phew- will be suprised if anyone bothered reading all that ha ha

jbells · 07/03/2011 20:31

clarkie- u still c midwife for around 4 weeks after birth and then they seign u off, health visitor comes to your house the first few visits and then they are normally based in a certain place where u can go ask questions and get lil ones weighed etc

Clarkiee · 07/03/2011 20:47

Cheers jbells might as well change doctors as soon as the sale goes through, especially as I've only seen the one based at my current doctors once.

Talking of the house- our house has effectively sold. The offer on the next house has been accepted and the morgage has been accepted. We're just waiting for the valuer value theirs. In the meantime though they don't want to take their house off the market until that has been done (which means no STC on rightmove and people can still view the property)! I suppose they are just being cautious but it's really annoying me!!!

moomin156 · 07/03/2011 21:05

OBEM on ladies.....:)

Mummynumber2 · 07/03/2011 21:23

I can really empathise with you about midwives Mrs. I?ve seen a different midwife each time and it?s going to be totally different ones at the hospital. One seemed ok but the other was awful and I have no confidence in her at all. My GP was also much more thorough than the midwives.

I am definitely not very active moomin! 2 days of shopping over the weekend have really taken it out of me, I?m a bit concerned about how unfit I?ve become actually!

Wow, Jbells, 30 weeks! That seems so far along!

LOL knackered crotcless knickers!Grin

Congratulations on the house Clarkiee

Mummynumber2 · 07/03/2011 21:26

I nearly forgot. Here's my dress As long as it arrives and fits ok.

HTH DP's just arrived home with 2 doors!

NurseSunshine · 07/03/2011 21:35

Congrats on the house Clarkiee

Absolutely beautiful dress MN2 You will have to send us a photo of you in it.

Not sure if I should be watching OBEM.

jbells · 07/03/2011 21:51

gorgeous dres MN2 :)

motherofsnortpigs · 07/03/2011 21:52

Ooh, so lovely mn2. I hope you need 2 extra doors.

knackered I have often secretly wondered if an Ann Summers peep-hole bra would be suitable for bf'ing. I take it you didn't find out.

I am possibly the only woman to have experienced boob shrinkage during prenancy because DS gave up feeding when I was about 20 weeks. I was back in an A cup for a few weeks and now just about filling a B, but not bursting out. Most of my nursing bras are a C so I'll just go back into those when the time comes. Some of them are going in the bin because they are tired and old and grey, though. When can you start buying nursing bras?

Continuing on the underwear theme, I have a special bag of post-birth knickers. I would also recommend the trunk-type men's pants - cosy.

Done the supermarket shop online this evening, my mother has cleaned the kitchen and I've had a cheeky glass of wine. It was called Rabbit Row and seeing as we call this baby Rabbit, it would have been rude not to.

Jasmine and Lisascat - coffee soon. Down by the ducks today in Wally it was lovely :)

DaisyFields · 07/03/2011 21:58

Ooo that dress is bloody lovely it is! Loving the sexy maternity tights in the 'you may also like' section at the bottom :)

Whoever said about carpal tunnel (sorry can't scroll back up, on my phone), my wrists have been really sore today too, like I'd had clenched fists all night or something. I did wrestle with a dead palm tree on Saturday, so maybe we're overdoing it on the horticultural front!

I'm going to watch OBEM on catchup in a minute, I wonder if there'll be any Ann summers' crotchless wonders on this week :)

moomin156 · 07/03/2011 22:03

just cried again at OBEM..........dont know why i do it to myself. Being a first timer i just cannot imagine how it must feel to finally see your baby. It must be the best feeling in the whole wide world.

MN2 gorgeous dress, you will look amazing

OP posts:
Clarkiee · 07/03/2011 22:07

Love it mm2

Think I've had that carpal tunnel thingy- well I've woken up with 'dead hand' a couple of times.

One of my babies has hiccups right now Grin

jbells · 07/03/2011 22:07

moomin i never cry Hmmi did sob at this morning today tho, it was showing children in alderhey that needed transplants :( was soooo upsetting

CitizenOscar · 07/03/2011 22:13

Probably not a good sign that my DH has to put a blanket over his head as soon as OBEM comes on the tv... Perhaps I'd better pack a blanket in my hospital bag! Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/03/2011 22:37

Mummy - that dress is gorgeous!! You will look fab :)

Clarkiee - congrats on the house!!!

Knackered - pmsl @giving birth in crotchless knickers!

Have watched last weeks OBEM - it was great. Dh didn't flinch at the c-sections.

Feeling nervous as a couple of the women were right screamers, but I am adament I don't want an epidural - the thought of anyone sticking a fraking great needle in my spine scares the bejeezus out of me!!

Am reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. Okay there is a bit of treehugging hippy crap in it but there is some intriguing notions in it.

moomin156 · 08/03/2011 08:49

Morning everyone.....hope everyone has a great day.
