Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Morning newyears I was wondering how you were doing. Wow to 33 weeks, that's amazing. Bet you are counting down the days to ML now!

LadyGoneGaga · 19/03/2011 15:11

Hi Newyears - lovely to hear from you. Not long now! Boo to the pelvic pain. Hopefully it might ease when you stop work and aren't charging around so much?

bessie26 · 19/03/2011 21:42

hello ladies! how lovely to see you all over here! Grin Hope you are all keeping well & have been enjoying your nausea, sore boobs & pelvic pain? Wink

I'm 36 wks now - am amazed I have made it this far (DD arrived at 33wks & at one point I had 5 possible reasons for this one to come early too!) But finished work this week, so am looking forward to putting my feet up next week & relaxing Grin

love to all xx

LadyGoneGaga · 20/03/2011 08:52

Hi Bessie - fab to hear from you. 36 weeks! Enjoy being off work. Am very Envy. Sounds like you have been having an eventful pregnancy so far so wishing you a peaceful last few weeks. Keep popping in too...especially to tell us the news! Grin

MrsP81 · 20/03/2011 14:30

Hey ladies, hope you are all well. I'm off on holiday now and just wanted to wish good luck to anybody with a scan coming up! Speak to you all in a couple of weeks. Xxx

spilttheteaagain · 20/03/2011 15:57

Hope you have a lovely time away MrsP

bessie great to "see" you. Like Lady I am Envy at you being on leave now. I hope you have a lovely last couple of weeks making a fuss of your DD (how old is she?) and relaxing generally.

I've finally ordered a doppler so hopefully that will be here in the next few days. I'm really scared of it arriving now in case it takes me ages to find the HB and I combust with panic Blush
I thought once movement started I would feel ok and not need one, but the sporadic nature of the movement just now (probably esp with my anterior placenta) is doing my head in. It can be 2 days between feeling anything and I can get properly het up in that time. Just been poked again thank god but I was so frightened this morning after feeling nothing yesterday and dreaming about the baby dying last night.

Hope you're all ok Smile

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/03/2011 19:37

Excited to hear from these ladies nearing d-day!!

spilt I feel for you, I hope the doppler eases your worries. I was tempted to get one, but like you, think I would be sent into a panic if I didn't immediately find the heart beat so decided against it.

I have a friend though who had a stillborn first time round, and she got a doppler for her second and I think it was a great comfort.

It's hard not to worry if you don't feel movement, but as you say with your anterior placenta I think it's normal to not feel as much. Also whilst they are still small the kicks can easily be missed unless you are really concentrating hard to try and feel them. E.g. if I was walking around I didn't feel anything much.

spilttheteaagain · 20/03/2011 19:56

Thanks GetDown Smile

That's why I've waited so long to get one really - I'm 18 weeks today and the doppler reckons it should pick up the HB from 12 weeks, so hopefully that means 18 weeks should be a piece of cake for it (my theory anyway!)

I know about them being little, being able to turn around and kick backwards where you won't feel it and all the sensible reasons why movement seems to disappear for a bit but it hasn't helped me be rational Blush

Ah well, I'll let you know how I get on with it when it arrives. You must be coming up for 16 weeks now?

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/03/2011 20:13

I know what you mean re. rational thought going out the window - I am the same Blush It's hard to explain it - when I get anxious DH just says "I'm sure everything is fine" Hmm

I am only 14 weeks so I know it's really too early for me to be feeling movements. I do sometimes get a very faint tugging feeling though, so maybe it is something. Just have to wait. Can't wait till I feel proper, identifiable movements Smile

I have a definite "bump" now though. Can't believe how much bigger I am getting already than I did last time! Dread to think how massive I'll be by the end!

Have got my appointment with the perinatal psychiatrist tomorrow

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 20/03/2011 20:15

Getdown good luck for tomorrow. It sounds like you're taking +ve steps.

I am way behind you all of course, only 5+5. Have first midwife appt tomorrow and I'm going to ask for a homebirth. Wish me luck.......

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/03/2011 20:21

Thanks MRsA. Hope your mw appt goes well. Sure it will be fine re. the homebirth - it is your right to have a home birth if that is what you want.

I like the idea of it, but am too cowardly anxious to do it myself. One of my NCT group from first time round had a home birth with her second and said it was wonderful. Stick to your guns!

OP posts:
GetDownYouWillFall · 20/03/2011 20:22

Just realised my typo makes your name look like MRSA!!! Blush Sorry - did not mean to refer to you as a superbug! Grin

OP posts:
nickstermum · 21/03/2011 09:22

I have done that too... re the superbug thing!!! eek Grin

20 week scan today....

Spilt dont worry about the sporadic movements, i was the same. Now - little monkey was booting me madly during the night Grin Grin Grin Try having an ice cold drink or some ice cream... works a treat :)

GD* my perineum has started to throb also... what will the psychologist do?! [intrigued emoticon]

TerrysNo2 · 21/03/2011 11:57

nickster good luck for your scan today!

MrsA also good luck for proposing a homebirth. I will be going for one too, for a second time, although DS was a monster and turned back to back so I had to get transferred in (obviously its a much longer story than that but you don't have all day to read it!)

I am 7+4 today - time is going along slowly but steadily! Feeling really sick and tired, much more so than with DS. Holding onto every symptom though! Smile

spilt I heard DS's HB via a doppler at around 13-14 weeks, they say from 10-12 but I think thats difficult. You should certainly be able to get something now, we used to check it once a week and say hello! Smile

Iwish · 21/03/2011 13:12

Oooh nix hope all goes well today. Let us know how you get on.

terrys hope you are ok with the sickness and tiredness. I'm 11+3 and still got them lol.

Scan 1 week today - eek!! Went to my parents for tea last night and mum is counting down the days bless her.

What kind of Doppler have you all got? I'm thinking about getting one if my scam goes ok.

Iwish · 21/03/2011 13:12

I meant scan!! Stupid phone keys too close together (or stupid fat fingers)

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 14:50

Scan all good.... Grin
Everything present and correct.
Wriggling little monkey was very badly behaved!!!
opted not to find out the sex..... but good job really as we couldnt have found out anyway!

LadyGoneGaga · 21/03/2011 14:54

Yay for a great scan, Nix*! And a yellow bump. We can play "guess the flavour"!

Terrys I felt more tired this time than with DS. Think is harder with second. So because more tired also felt more sick too. Hope next few weeks fly by for you.

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 15:37

he he i had to look twice at 'yellow bump' I have no clue as to my flavour.. DH caved, hoorah :)

Terrys - i am shagged this time. Working FT, running a house, and looking after lively 3yo... takes it out of you!! I wasnt so knackered in the first trimester. Shagged out in the second, totally different to my last pg!

spilttheteaagain · 21/03/2011 16:56

Congratulations nix! I've been itching to get home and see how it had gone. Brilliant.

iwish this is the one I have ordered but can't tell you what it's like as it ain't here yet!

TerrysNo2 · 21/03/2011 17:24

Yay BabyNix!! I love surprises, DS was one and this one will be too if I have my way.

Do we know anyone's sexes yet - spilt, LadyG?? What about everyone else, will you find out?

spilttheteaagain · 21/03/2011 18:04

Yeah terrys, we're all women Wink

But we are hoping to find out. We didn't last time and then had to wait 6 weeks after she was born to find out with Bobbie. This time I just want to know as soon as possible. I figure it's a surprise at 20 weeks or a surprise at 40. Though we'll keep it to ourselves (and the internet!) and pretend we don't know to family etc. Surprise them at least.

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 19:31

Awww thanks Grin Spilt! totally understand why you would want to know.... do you think it will be a little girl? How will that make you feel if it is?

terrys I normally hate surprises... and last time i was so totally desparate to know, but this time it just doesnt seem important. I think things take their toll. Having a poorly little boy when he was born, then having an MC, it for me has just taken away the importance of knowing... i have no preferance either way as long as it gets here this time, safely and its a healthy baby :) I'm amazed at DH letting me be the boss, usually the other way round...!!

Ladyg i seriously have no idea this time. I was convinced it was a girl last time and it was a boy, this time we dtd 2 days before OV so could be either!! PG is totally different than last time, but heartbeat rate is the same as DS. I watched a programme about birth/MW the other day and the MW was saying the hb of 130bpm was gonna def be a boy... nice slow boy hb!!! Turned out the baby was a girl so Who Knows!!

No one believes me by the way... about team yellow! Dmum thinks i am just not telling her!!

spilttheteaagain · 21/03/2011 20:19

I don't know nix. Part of me thinks that on balance of probabilities it's likely to be a girl. Going back up my family they are nearly all girls, the odd bloke (my dad for example!) but the men nearly all have daughters too. And as you may remember this conception was from 4-5 day old swimmers so I am inadvertently testing the Shettles theory that it's "girl" sperm that live a long time! I've had a lot of strong female family relationships and probably because of that have naturally imagined myself with daughters too. So I would be somewhat taken aback if it turns out to be a DS. Obviously I would be delighted with a live healthy baby whatever flavour, but because I'm half expecting a girl I'd like to know sooner rather than later if that's not the case so I stop bonding with the idea of a pink bump and don't get totally confused further down the line.

Also I would like to be able to not say "it" all the time - something that we found really tough with Bobbie. Even at her funeral we couldn't say he or she and had to over think every sentence to dodge the "it".

HB wise this one is 140bpm, same as last time, so no clues there...

nickstermum · 21/03/2011 20:36

spilt i was the same about the referance to 'it' last time, was convinced it was a girl, then was shocked that he was a boy. That 20 week window gave me the time i needed to bond with him.. and god i did! My friend also gave birth to her second convinced it was a girl and when she birthed him it took her nearly a week to bond with him :( that was my inspiration - so i totally understand after what you went through :)

I do remember the sperm age, which was what made me think. Have to say i thought i OV on day 19, FF said day 21 we dtd day 18 and 22 only - who knows in my situation whether its old or young sperm LOL...must say 3 years ago there would have been no way i could cope with not knowing... this time its quite a nice guessing game Grin
