PrincessBoo · 24/01/2011 21:26

:( poor lady.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:27

Tears in my eyes for that lass. Her partner is a diamond. And that scene shows how caring and understanding MWs can be, awwww.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:35

I see why that other bloke is annoying now - his partner has a heart condition and he must be bricking it. Sad My Dad always gets v annoying when he's worried or upset.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:37

I take it back - "I'll nip across the road to get a paper": WTF?!?!?!

Muser · 24/01/2011 21:38

Yes, I think he's just terrified. When TBG is feeling scared he tends to do annoying things like start checking his phone. If you saw him do it you'd want to slap him, but he doesn't do it deliberately. It's just a weird reflex thing.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:44

Yeah, TYF is similar. He also tends to panic a bit if I'm ill which has the effect of me becoming super-calm and capable, which will hopefully work well when in labour.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:52

That's a bit unfair, actually. When push comes to shove, he is a total rock.

Scorpette · 24/01/2011 21:59

Crying! What a lovely family Waterbirth Woman has

rocketleaf · 24/01/2011 22:05

Gah, I forgots! We were finish Breaking Bad so I'll have to catch it on demand tomorrow.

Medee · 24/01/2011 22:08

that was quite an emotional rollercoaster that episode. Really felt for PoolLady, obviously having had a really bad time last time. And what a worry for the lady with the heart problem.

OkieCokie · 25/01/2011 09:16

Good morning pesh people. I have the Marie Mongan Hippo Book and cd which I would like to pass on. It is an ESH duty. I think it was originally "rot's then she passed to Box who passed to me. So whoever wants it let me know and I will post. The only stipulation is it must be passed to another ESH once you have laid.

Ivegotmrbitey · 25/01/2011 10:00

Good morning all, I have had horrid flu like lurgy all weekend and am now on laptop in bed trying to catch up with you chatter boxes!

Didn't enjoy OBEM last night, I was expecting the car park birth story to be more involved than a woman coming in very quickly from the car park and having a top speed delivery. I am probably being very selfish wanting to be entertained but they producers did mention the car park a lot the previous week! Felt so sorry for the pool lady having to go home the first time with no baybee. She really did have a lovely family.

It's a long time until I will require hippo birthing okeydoke, am sufering an endless first trimester but am keen to hear more about it, especially if it makes it less scary!

LadyGoneGaga · 25/01/2011 10:15

I haz a CD already, Okey so although I would be interested in the book I suspect othere PESHes may be more in need. Also am some time away from laying like Bitey. Although happily trotted into the second trimester on Sunday, Yahoo!

Watching OBEM on catch up tonight as after a brief burst of energy early in the evening where I cooked dinner and did some washing I then fell asleep putting MiniG to bed at 8pm again. I have oodles of stuff to watch on Sky plus now - all of Shameless, OBEM, True Blood, Being Human. But MiniG is at his Dad's this weekend so may just park my fat ass on the sofa and stay there (have put a stone on so far, A STONE I TELL THEE!!!)) Shock Blush

Ivegotmrbitey · 25/01/2011 10:26

I am ignoring the weighing scales lalagonegiddy. No discernible bump but have lost all waist definition and there seems to be handfuls of flesh above my hip bones where previously there was a gently inwards incline. It is almost as if instead of an above the pelvis bump I am getting a wrap around the hip one instead! I kept myself awake last poking it and worrying about how bad my bum must look! I can't seem to equate weight gain with baybee growing. I know it is silly and I will probably feel better when it is clearly baybee related and not just fatness but is very depressing when coupled with the acne! When I am going to bloom exactly?

loz you have inspired me to make friends with the FDH, think tha some benny hill style romance will cheer me right up!

LadyGoneGaga · 25/01/2011 11:09

My bump is popping out now so that helps matters. But I have definitely got a mahoosive muffin top area going on as well Sad. Will all go afterwards. But it's a bit bleurgh. Maybe we have girls with all this wrap around bump action?

You will look gaw-juss very soon, Bitey. I smell incipient blooming.

owlbooty · 25/01/2011 11:15

A stone??? I don't think I am any heavier yet altho was sporting a splendid muffin top before all of this palaver kicked off. Today I don't even feel like there is any sort of bump emerging ergo am wondering if I have imagined the whole thing.

I haven't, right?

rocketleaf · 25/01/2011 11:26

You haven't imagined it boots you silly thing. Think multiple scans will prove me right?

I put on half a stone then lost half a stone and now have put back on about 3/4 so at least gall stone scare was good for something. Seriously tho, scales are not your friend right now and should prob be put in the cupboard until about 2 months after laying. bitey haz the right idea. Everyone is gonna put on (or not) completely differently and either way it really doesn't matter.

rocketleaf · 25/01/2011 11:29

oh sorry meant to say to okie thanks for the offer I would like the book but I have a hippo cd coming from my friend who is going to pass hers on to me so seems a waste. Sure someone further up the list will want it anyway.

Medee · 25/01/2011 12:38

MsFC is sending me hers, so I don't need it.

laurielou · 25/01/2011 12:50

I have also put on 1 stone. I stoopidly hopped on scales Sat am. Then hopped straight back off & ran away.

I need to lay off my True Blood watching. I had a nasty vampire dream last night. We thought we'd escaped to a hilltop hideaway, when Jennifer Aniston (?) sniffed that there were loads of vampires on their way, we were outnumbered. The vamps all surrounded us & began hissing. I felt my baybee kick & said that would prolly be the last thing I'd feel Sad. Then not sure what happened but my baybee was out, very small, & Eric (True Blood hottie) took my baybee to hospital. Dream ended with me holding teeny baby hand in incubator. Was not nice. I much preferred the horny vampire sex dream Blush.

In happier news, Bug doesn't know the meaning of final relaxation in yoga. I was lying still, subdued lighting, tinkle tinkle music & teacher reading a fab visualisation piece - my mind had taken me far away to a lovely beach with a cool breeze & sand between my toes. Then Bug gave me an almighty kick, which made me jump & shriek "Oh!".

Then I rushed home for OBEM, missed the 1st 5 mins, so saw nothing of the car park birth. Not too sorry about that, but thought it would play a bigger part in the programme. Loved "heart lady" when her fella asked if sponge Xmas cake had currants "Its a sponge you PRICK!" Pool lady had a wonderful family. I did warn Mr Loz that no matter what he said or did during my labour, he'd be wrong. That was my attempt at a pre-apology & I shall not mention anything like that again!

Mr Loz has also downloaded some app which says what to expect each week during diffment. Apparently at week 22 I should expect people to want to start touching my bump. Does this happen to anyone here? How do you feel about it? I'm obviously happy for mr Loz to feel away, but having always been a lardy weight conscious lady & just really getting to grips with my bump myself I'm a bit uneasy at other people closing in for a feel. Interested to hear other ESH thoughts.

LadyGoneGaga · 25/01/2011 12:50

You're right, Rocket. Think everyone's body just "does" pregnancy differently. My sister and me have always been big gainers (with huge bumps (sadly) - at least 3 or 4 stone last time (didn't dare get back on after passing the 13 stone mark!). Not going to freak though because was back in a size 10 after 6 months last time without dieting. I am also prone to the most disgusting water retention - cankles don't even cover it. Swelling went up to my knees!

Owlie I am a second timer and hence have no functioning stomach muscles which is why I have bump. I didn't really by this time last time round so please don't feel paranoid!

Orchid12 · 25/01/2011 13:05

Occie congrats Smile Nice to see in here !

Lozza not sure I like the sound of your dream! I can remember becoming 'public property' for a while with mini O. I think I developed a stern 'get off me look' though and it didn't happen that often so don't worry.

My mum delights in telling me she only gained a stone with me and I weighed 7lb 1oz when born. I put on more than that with O but like LGG lost a fair bit quickly due to breastfeeding a very hungry boy! Am gaining more slowly this time because I was so sick for so long but it won't take long now I'm eating for five!

Didn't see OBEM as was in bed for 8. I'm waiting for this rush of 2nd trimester energy and bloomingness but I don't see it happening any time soon Hmm.

laurielou · 25/01/2011 13:10

Orchid I'm also still waiting for the 2nd trimester energy ................ Hmm

I have 1 energetic day, overdo it, then am knackered for a few days. Never learn!

owlbooty · 25/01/2011 13:18

Lozza yikes, that all sounds a bit alarming. Did you have any cheese in the evening? Cheese seems to give me terrible nightmares.

If I ever get a bump, anyone who dares touch it will be unceremoniously punched on the nose. I hate seeing people do that. By invite only. Maybe they make maternity Tshirts saying 'Fuck Off'?

GGGGGG I haz no stomach muscles and no excuse either. Whoops. Also, when I was weighed at the MW visit then weighed again a week later on the fancy hospital scales there was a -2kg difference. So I shall not trust the MW's crappy scales again.

I wanted to ask you - your nuchal fold thingy - were your blood results just really, really good? Or was it the scan/nose bone bit that was good? Or both? I am wondering which is the more important bit.

Muser · 25/01/2011 13:18

I've not had anyone really try to feel my bump, I think I give off very strong "don't even think about it" vibes.

On weight, the only scales any of you are allowed to use are mine, at my flat. With the new super bouncy carpets the scales are suddenly weighing about 2-2.5 stone lighter. Tis a miracle!
