ChoChoSan · 20/01/2011 10:32

Hi there all...no baybee laying activities goin on in Choville, and no indications there is anything imminent, I'm afraid.

I've got to go into triage at my hospital this am, as my rib pain has increased from 'when I move in particular positions, cough or lie in bed' to 'constant, especially when breathing'!

I don't know what the hell has caused this, although it's in exactly the same place that I had a broken rib many years ago, so I'm assuming that something has affected the healed site.

The hospital won't x-ray me pregnant, and I'm sure that they won't give me drugs, but I am just really worried about how I am going to labour :( I don't want anything the complicate my lentil weaving pain free hippo birth:)

I will post again later, and catch up with everyone elses news. Cho x

rocketleaf · 20/01/2011 10:36

Oh cho sounds horrible, I hope they can help you somehow. This might sound daft but could a Tens machine help for that too or does it only work on muscular things?

Sounds like a lovely busy day kate don't over do it!

I am off to try some peanut butter on toast with a gav chaser haven't had any for 2 months and I've missed it so!!!!

Ocarina · 20/01/2011 10:45

Erm, apparently yes to being diffed. Not that I have even begun to get my head round this fact. It currently all feels very surreal. So is there room for a little one in here?

PrincessBoo · 20/01/2011 10:49

Marvellous news Ocky, really pleased for you :)

Muser · 20/01/2011 10:49

rocket hooray for lack of gallstones, but weird as well.

Cho that all sounds hideous. I really hope something happens to make it better and not interfere with your lentil weaving gentle sneeze of a birth.

Ocarina woot woot woot! I am doing the nekkid dancing for you. How pregnant are you? When did you test? Did you test early and test often, or where you a DHB and waited patiently?

OcarinaofTime that is fantastic news!!! Nekkid jiggling of veiny boobs this end too (what a lovely picture) :o yes, please to dish details?

thanks muse it is a bit odd but I'm not going to argue!! :o:o:o

owlbooty · 20/01/2011 11:04

WHOOP! Fab news Occy Grin

Cho that sounds utterly rotten - hopefully they will be able to work out how to make it not hurt at the triage thingy. I suspect gas and air will help hugely when the time comes :)

I reckon Scorps is catching up on her months of missing sleep - we may not see her for a while...

LadyGoneGaga · 20/01/2011 11:17

Hopefully it won't come to that Bootycall.

'Lo Occy - fanks for the goodies. Nom, nom.

Is a beautiful day today. I feel fresh because I went to bed at 8pm. Oh yes. Party animal, me.

Medee · 20/01/2011 12:22

Fab news, Ocarina!!!

Good news that you don?t have gallstones, Rocket

Sorry to hear about the ribs, Cho

Glad you have a back-up plan in place, Muse, hopefully you won?t have to put it into action.

I feel like I am channelling a beached whale at the moment. Two interrupted night?s sleep in a row ? last night thankfully a bit better than the first. But my back aches, and once I sort that, my sciatica starts in one leg, and I can?t sleep on the other side. Grr. MrM keeps telling me I look lovely, glowing etc, but it doesn?t really help. :( He did try massaging my back last night, working on the knot of muscle on my right side, which helped a little, but he?s so unconfident when massaging it becomes annoying, and I really want to just dig in myself!

laurielou · 20/01/2011 12:31

Sorry to post quickly & run.

Occy - CONGRATUMATLATIONS! Lovely to have you, (specshally bringing pate!)

Cho ribs sound painful. Ouch! Will a swift kung-fu-Jo help realign you?

Scorpette · 20/01/2011 13:01

OCCIE OCCIE OCCIE! OY OY OY! Fab bloody news - what an Xmas to remember Grin We need more details! C'mere, Gorgeous, am bloody overjoyed for ya

Am not, however, overjoyed for poor old Cho Sad Shock That is such a shitter. Everything loosens up in pg, so wouldn't be surprised if your suspicions about the old injury prove correct. Really hope they can do summat for you - will be thinking about you and sending you ESHy healing vibes

Great news re: Gallstones, Rocket, but how weird that you've had that much pain without it being 'anything'. Still, has to be better than the alternative, but it's always kinda annoying in a relieving way when you're suffering but there's no diagnosis, isn't it? AT least now you should have the birth you want (theoretically!)

Kate - your itinerary has tired me out just reading about it! Take it easy when you can, lovely lady :)

Poor old Medee. But Mr M is right - you are gorgeous. Doesn't help with the muscle pain/sleeplessness but hey. Feel guilty about what I'm about to say next...

Booty is right - the drucks are making me catch up on all my missed sleep; had 10 hours kip last night! Don't think I've slept that much since I was a baybee myself (lifelong insomniac)! I started getting a mild headache again last night after @ 20 hours since I took the drucks, but it were nowt. Feel pain-free again today, huzzah! Thanks so much to all for caring 'bout me :)

Ocarina · 20/01/2011 13:21

Thanks all. I'm not sure what other details there are to give you really. It doesn't feel at all real, not least because I've been really lucky thus far with symptoms (or lack of). I could sleep for England, but have pretty much avoided nausea, no puking, and my boobs are no longer nearly as sore as they were. All of which makes me think they're going to do the scan in a couple of weeks and declare I've made the whole thing up!

Hurrah for lots of sleep Scorps! Tis a wonderful thing, and great that someone's finally doing something to help.

Cho that sounds grim. Were triage any use?

I'm amused by you being a medical mystery Lettuce, although not by the ongoing pain. Are you drinking the gaviscon by the bottle?

LadyGoneGaga · 20/01/2011 13:34

Massive cross post, Occy earlier. I am delighted for you GrinGrinGrin. Did you try the acupuncture in the end?

Ocarina · 20/01/2011 13:53

I did, although given that the snow got in the way so I think I only had 2 sessions before I found out I was diffed I have no idea whether it made any difference. I'm carrying on for a little while so it may be that's helping with the lack of sickness, I haven't a clue. But I found it really helpful to feel like I was actually doing something, even if I wasn't convinced it was anything more than a placebo effect! (And if placebo effects work then I'm not going to complain).

LadyGoneGaga · 20/01/2011 14:00

Either way, very happy something worked for you - whatever it was. When is your scan?

Medee · 20/01/2011 14:07

Don?t feel guilty about sleepfulness, Scorps, you deserve it after all you?ve been through.

PerfectDromedary · 20/01/2011 14:24

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Occy! Well done, pet. Am proper thrilled for you!

I'm leaving work today and am swingingly wildly between doing the dance of joy and being very very sad. And I'm on my second round of tearfulness, because a retired colleague popped in to give me the baby blanket that she'd crocheted for me.

PrincessBoo · 20/01/2011 14:38

Just quickly popping head back in to pose this link for all you crafty types - wish I was this creative/clever - look at room she painted for her daughter: www.modachromehome.com/

Ocarina · 20/01/2011 14:39

Awww, Drom, that's lovely about the blanket. I can't believe how fast it's all come round, I'm sure it's only a month or so ago we were nekkid dancing for your diffment. It must be a very weird feeling stepping away from the routine of work.

My scan is 2 weeks yesterday, booking appointment next week. Talking of which, is there anything I need to know before I go for that?

Medee · 20/01/2011 14:56

That?s lovely about the blanket, Drom. My mum and dad?s elderly neighbour has crocheted a blanket, and handed it into Mum, so looking forward to seeing that.

I?m not sure I like that baby?s bedroom ? a bit psychedelic.

Scorpette · 20/01/2011 14:58

Awwww, you must be a big ole bag of mixed hormonal feelings, Drom What a lovely colleague, crocheting a blanket for Berwhale - did you know she was doing it or was it a surprise?

Thanks, Medee :) Will try to send some of my drowsy your way...

Occers, I think most of us found the booking appointment long and a bit boring. They just need to know all your details, all medical history (often stuff you might think is irrelevant) and will probably make heavy-handed comments about domestic violence, although it's good they do, even if it's irritating (my MW kept banging on about it for ages just because I went without TYF Hmm). But it is exciting, because it makes it all feel even more real and it's the first stepping stone, IYKWIM. They'll give you a Bounty pack and all sorts of leaflets and info, etc. I found it a weird mix of underwhelming and overwhelming but a v happy milestone :)

Scan in 2 wks, eh? Excitements! Grin Now THAT will be fun!

Great blog link, Boo :)

Scorpette · 20/01/2011 15:00

PS Agree with Medee, however - bit hectic for me. How would anyone get to sleep with mental walls like that?!

Muser · 20/01/2011 15:08

Aw, lovely colleague Drom. Very sweet.

Ocs, the booking in appointment is long and very boring. Very boring indeed. I did not take TBG and did not get heavy handed domestic violence questioning. It's way too dull to subject someone else to.

I have been to the osteopath who has pulled me about. I have inflammation round me ribs, caused by baby pulling me out of alignment. Have been banned from the hot water bottle.
