Back from midwife. I too am 4/5th engaged, woot. Everything is fine. Going to do the booking for the birth centre at my next appointment.

Did some very exciting shopping afterwards, I have maternity pads and big pants. Oh yay.

Oooh, Muse, you're bringing sexy back! Grin Am lovin all these textbook engagements :)

Talking of sexy, Being Human starts again this Sunday. TYF doesn't like me calling Mitchell my 'telly husband' but tough titty.

Backinthebox · 19/01/2011 14:28

Kate get.the.bag.packed.

NOW!

You know you'll only need it if it isn't packed. Get it packed and sorted, and leave it to sit it a corner and gather dust while you have your baby at home.

My top hospital back tip - if you have your baby at home and subsequently need to go into hospital, just check that in the hour between giving birth and going to hossie you husband hasn't started to unpack it, removing vital items from aforementioned bag. Ask me how I know. Hmm

owlbooty · 19/01/2011 15:43

Scan update!

The Vole is okay but refused to get into the right postition for the nuchal test thingy. First it was curled up. Then it was dancing. Then it was on its side. Then the sonographer sent me away in the hope that going to the loo would help. I returned; the little beggar was standing on its head and would not shift.

So that will be another private scan next week then.

I feel a lot calmer though now. I could see it had a nasal bone, even if it was dancing.

Muesli nice work on the giant pants Grin

Milano ace news on the scan.

laurielou · 19/01/2011 15:52

Booty what a lovely sounding scan. Nice active baby Smile. Good luck keeping him/her entertained!

Scorps I'd just like to say welcome back. Those drucks seem to have worked wonders, & sound almost back to your normal (Confused) self. What a relief that must be for you.

owlbooty · 19/01/2011 15:57

Also; Scorps those drugs sound top - hoorah for the absence of migraine!

Medee · 19/01/2011 16:13

good scan news, owlie

Ivegotmrbitey · 19/01/2011 16:15

Awwwwww another tiny dancer owlie! Lovely scan news!

LadyGoneGaga · 19/01/2011 16:28

Fab news, Owlie!

Glad you are starting to feel more like you again, Scorps. I'm sure all drugs must take a bit of time to get into your system so don't worry too much about that.

Muser · 19/01/2011 17:55

Hooray for a good scan owlie, even an uncooperative one.

And yay for drugs, glad you're feeling better Scorps.

CluckyKate · 19/01/2011 18:17

Congrats on the groovy baby Owlie - s/he sounds like a bundle of fun!

Bag packing fail but have been shopping with LC to buy the baby a present. She is a real chip of the ol' block & loves to shop....spent 1/2 an hour in the Disney Store and took an hour to get her away from the John Lewis toy department. Stopped by the stables and was lured into yard-owners house with chocolate cake so have only just got home.

Muse - am very impressed with your per-chases....you are very organised Envy

Good to hear you're feeling better Score

Scorpette · 19/01/2011 18:18

Heheh, you've got a cheeky one on your hands there, Owlie :) Yay for a fun scan and seeing the nasal bone is v good

Cheers all, esp. Loz for singing Return of The Mack to me, like in that mobile advert in the airport Wink I have to confess that I slept between 3 and 5.30! Blush If I can be migraine-free and catch up on my sleep deficit then that would be marvellous. I do already more like myself - if I've been moany/boring/depressive (even more than usual, I mean), then I hope you all understand why and forgive me

milanomum · 19/01/2011 18:33

Yey Owlbooty fantastic! Even if you now have the trouble of having to go and see it again next week ;) Sounds like you've got a little dancer!

Scorps I totally see your point - I didn't really mean that you should tell your child how sick you are/were, was just trying to lighten the seriousness of it all. It must be awful to hear that from your family all your feckin' life - your poor cousin!

muser don't knock the Big Pants.

Scorpette · 19/01/2011 19:39

I know that's what you meant, Milano, don't worry. It gave me a chuckle :) Aunty Tactless, however - grrrrrr.

PrincessBoo · 19/01/2011 19:47

Oh all these scans are making me :o as I type.

Am really interested in how the weaning goes woth miniG Lady, smallboo seems to have a few days when he doesn't bother and I think it's all over and then he nuzzles in again. I'm surprised there's anything left to be honest - it's about 5 mins per day (well night or first thing in morning) if that.

rocketleaf · 19/01/2011 21:09

Sorry to hear Mr M is going to be be away so late in the game but like others have said likelihood of going past EDD is quite high with first. fingers fully crossed.

very exciting engagements, I suppose you and drom will also be buying matching rings? [wink}

lovely lovely scan news owlie glad ickle owl was so active although not so much re having to go back for another scan. Hope "he" behaves himself next week. Any pics?

So glad the drugs seem to be working score although I have felt like dog poo all day so have you secretly transfered your sickliness to me? Is seriously not funny how allergic to work I am, at least I only have a couple of days a week to cope with. Had to skip yoga this evening as was in bed. Hoping it is just tiredness that kicks it off, getting scan results from GP tomorrow, should be interesting.

kate hope you have finished packing bag, law of sod in full effect on this one I reckon so best get it done, mmm cake.

Muser · 19/01/2011 22:53

Where is Cho? Is she laying early?

OP posts:
Muser · 19/01/2011 23:01

Also meant to say, have spoken to my mum and sister - both of whom live between 1-2 hours away (depending on how hideous the traffic is). Both will come if I call, my mum was meant to be going to visit my brother but has said she can do that another time.

So if something does happen while TBG is away, I will ring them both and they can have a race to see who gets here first. Grin

OP posts:
Scorpette · 19/01/2011 23:18

Aww, really glad you've got things covered, Muse; must be such a weight off your mind. And it probably won't come to that plan, anyway :)

Yes, where is Cho?

LadyGoneGaga · 20/01/2011 06:33

Will let you know, Boo. This is the first time he's ever left it for more than one feed apart from because he's been staying with his Dad. But I've been moaning loads about how it's sore and I expect that's why. Maternal guilt attack. But I suppose better than putting Stop biting nails stuff on my nips which was my fall back option. Shock We're having lots of cuddles still and still lying down with him to get him to sleep. But have cut out his lunchtime nap and has helped massively.

Glad you have a plan, *muse. Is vey unlikely you will need it but will make you feel much better.

rocketleaf · 20/01/2011 08:50

muse back up plans are a relief, hope is not necessary tho.

Ocarina · 20/01/2011 09:50
rocketleaf · 20/01/2011 10:15

occie where have you been? and does this mean you are diffed? I hope so and not just tempting us with your plate of forbidden delights (ooh er) Come back and explain yourself this minute!

Well, don't I feel a twat, after harping on about my gall bladder my scans show nothing, neit, nada. Which of course is fabulous news as it means I won't have to have an operation but also leaves us slightly perplexed as to what the fuck is causing this pain. GP now thinks its just my stomach acting up, even tho I don't have indigestion or acid reflux so has sent me away with some gaviscon advance and hopes that does the trick. If it IS as simple as that I am going to be sightly pissed I have spent the last 2 months shitting myself and suffering when I could have just taken some Tums. But anyway, gift horse/mouth etc. :O Is al good and am VERY relieved.

score how are you today? Any further improvement?

Anyone heard from cho?

owlbooty · 20/01/2011 10:25

That's really good news on the scans, roquette - one less thing to worry about. And since you ask, yes, I have a pic of the little 'un - standing on his/her bloody head. Honestly. I shall stick it up on here at some point when I have scanned it :)

Occy come back!! Bring us more cheese!!

G Nail biting stuff would sting like nothing on earth. Howabout sticking plasters instead? Grin

CluckyKate · 20/01/2011 10:31

Happy Thursday everyone!

Good news on the gall bladder thing Rocket I think Hmm. Hope the Gaviscon works.

Drucks still working Score???

Presume radio silence from Cho is because she has her feet up and is relaxing & enjoying her time off. Pliz to tell me I'm right Smile

Right, hossie bag now 90% packed - just need to nip out to the supermarket to pick-up more snacks, drinks and a toothbrush. Also need to get in supplies for hosses for next 6 weeks, stock-up on cat & dog food, source waterproof sheeting for homebirth plus sieve, thermometer & shiz for birthing pool.
Reflexy lady coming at midday then off to visit work pal for coffee.

Another busy day!!
