Aaah - great description - and read the link too - perfect for lazy girls - so thanks bubba and *gallic8

And rock i alternate days between gushing loads when i go to loo and having the stupid trickle and 2 mins later have to run thinking i'm desperate for another trickle! My mum's been whinging i've been using too much toilet paper! Grin

SaraL77 · 19/01/2011 21:58

Cyberfairy ow! yes I have had really bad pain when walking- I had mild SPD in my last pregnancy, this time I didn't think it was too bad, until I sat on the floor of my friends house this avo, feeling fairly comfortable (we were playing with the kids) when I tried to get up and realised I couldn't walk. Now I'm in so much pain when I walk- right on my pubic bone- ouch!

feel very silly, next time will use the couch- just hope it eases- I've still got 10+ days to go!

saltnvinigarcrips · 19/01/2011 21:58

I find it much easier to pee like a man now; well kind of; I basically stand and lean upper body forward to take babe's head off bladder but I have the same problem rock. Even more annoying when you get back into bed and then realise you didn't get it all out!!

Pootle78 · 19/01/2011 22:17

Another with a wee issue. I've stopped flushing for just a wee (tmi) otherwise our water bill would be through the roof!

OP posts:
RockLover · 19/01/2011 22:57

Me too pootle, especially at night or it would be flushing every hour!

I do the getting back into bed thing then having to go to the loo again salt, thank God it's not just me. It happened today when I was picking DD up from school, as I was walking back to the car (with no loo near by) I honestly thought I was going to pee myself! Managed to drive home only to find when I went to the loo only a tiny amount came out.

Pregnancy is just so undignified!!!

Shanster · 20/01/2011 02:52

Congrats ladybuzz!! And I agree with you all on the pee front - traffic was terrible on my way to work on Tuesday, took 2 hours and I swear I nearly wet myself. I started regretting the cup of tea I had with breakfast after about 15 mins in the car!!

Had a doctor's appt today and found that baby is now transverse, even though he has been head down since 35 weeks. I'm convinced it was last night too, he moved and it was so uncomfortable I woke up howling! Anyway, dr won't attempt an EVC because I have an anterior placenta which apparently can rupture and he won't take the risk. I'm booked in for a section next Wednesday, but am really not happy about it. I have a 2 year old and the thought of not being able to lift her for weeks is upsetting and just not practical!! So now I am praying that he turns - I mean, he managed it once, he might manage it again! My DD was transverse until 38 weeks, and she turned. I must have a funny shaped uterus or something :)

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 20/01/2011 08:11

Poor you shanster that was exactly the same with me with DD2 who was head down from 35 weeks (or so I'd been told) then shifted to transverse in the last couple of weeks. I was also pissed off and sad not to be able to give birth naturally and not to be able to pick up DD1, but we worked around it, got little chairs and steps etc to help her in and out of the bath/her highchair etc etc. Very impractical but actually the healing was quicker than the 6 weeks advertised, but you do have to be careful.
I'm sending babyshanster turning thoughts though.

Gutted as last night I was having very strong 'tightenings' to the extent that they were taking my breath away and we started to time them. A few overnight but then they died right down to nothing :(

RockLover · 20/01/2011 09:22

Morning ladies! Just back from the school run and have had some lovely toast with lemon curd, yummy!!!

Woke up at about 5.30am this morning for my millionth wee (surprise, surprise) and noticed I was getting on and off period pains. Only lasted a few hours (like last week), so I can only hope that my uterus is limbering up and labour will move along faster when I finally get to that point.

Nothing on my agenda today apart from a mahoosive pile of washing up which I will do when I can be arsed in a bit. Really, really cold again this morning, -3 and the car locks froze like yesterday which was a pain when trying to get DD to school on time. I'm contemplating putting the heating back on as it's pretty chilly in the lounge as we only have single glazing.

I'm still a bit peckish, might be time for a cuppa and some digestives. :)

cyberfairy · 20/01/2011 09:28

I too have the weeing thing-feel like an incontinent mouse. Also have had the period pains and woke up bellowing in the early hours with the sensation of knitting needles being stuck up my vagina. Pregnancy is lovely isn't it? Grin
Good luck Shanster x
Sara L77, how far along are you? My SPD has nearly gone now, possibly as I'm not working anymore and spending more time slobbing. Hope it goes for you-I had a small glass of wine in pub and then staggered to the toilet, suspect some people might have got the wrong idea!
Have a lovely day everyone Smile

travispickles · 20/01/2011 09:41

HURRAY!!! Not in labour (boo) but did have a really good night's sleep which has made me feel much more positive. Still got up every two hours for wee but went straight back to sleep each time. 9.30 - 9.30 Grin

Not so happy about the fact that my OH's ex has asked if we can have DSS (aged 10) this weekend. He now seems to think that I am defo being induced next Thursday so it will be fine. The thing is we don't have any of his family to help out so if I go in labour while he is here then we have major hassle of trying to find someone to come and be with DSS. I tried to point out it could happen any time and if I have to sepend a few hours at home getting to 5 min intervals having baths, wandering around taking parasetomol and bieng uncomfortable, I don't much want my DSS as spectator! I know I sound like a control freak but it just adds more stress to an otherwise stressful enough situation.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 20/01/2011 09:44

OMG travis you have every right and excuse to say no to that! That's ridiculous!

CupcakesHay · 20/01/2011 10:05

Only quickly log in - will post more later.... but my friend who is due day aftr me had he baby last night - a little girl! how lovely! I told her, when I found out that she'd beat me to having it! hurrah.

Right - off to m/w so need to do a wee sample and need to finish my yoghurt - i'll catch up properly later. Smile

Try not to write loads - i'm not as good at note taking as pootle Grin

RunningKatie · 20/01/2011 10:08

Ah, I'm so pleased glad to hear I'm not the only suffering from useless wee syndrome. It's so annoying to go and then 2 mins later realise you really need to go again.

Travis, excellent news on the sleep front, but not on the DSS front so much. Hope you can sort it out so that you're not getting an extra spectator.

Another one getting period pains, also getting a lot of pressure down below - actually hurt to lift my leg in the shower, so I took the executive decision not to wash it. :)

Is there anything you can do Shanster to encourage babyshanster to move again? I'm sitting on my birthing ball as much as I can just to ensure this little one doesn't get any ideas.

Today we are going out for coffee and cake at my favourite cafe, I keep wanting to do stuff just once more before we have a baby and thankfully DP is a very patient man and indulges me! The only minor trouble is that coffee has started making me feel sick again, not had that since about 16 weeks.

cyberfairy · 20/01/2011 10:44

Have you tried having a mocha instead? Coffee can make my heartburn worse so been experimenting-for some reason hot chocolate often feels too naughty despite the fact I never used to consider the calories in a bottle of wine Grin
I am attempting to make a mobile-no idea how I am going to attach the pieces together but it beats doing something constructive like cleaning.

Crystylline · 20/01/2011 10:45

shan sorry to hear your news. A good friend of mine suggested washing the floor, basically anything that tips your pelvis up and forward to encourage the baby to drop into place. there's also the spinning babies website (sorry, don't have link), that is supposed to be good.

fingers crossed that he/she turns. but, on the upbeat, at least you have a date now when you know you'll meet your little one. x

travis I'd tell the ex to poke off - far too much pressure and responsibility to put on you at the this stage. can't believe she's even asked! perhaps she's just not thinking straight, but i don't think youi'd be unreasonable to say no.

everyone yes - the Wee Diaries! i am beginning to wonder if I should just set up a bed in the bathroom, or have some kind of mobile potty or commode to wander about with.

and the worst of it, is how obsessed I am with whether it's my waters breaking, or if my plug (a second one) has come away etc.

yes, the glamour of pregnancy!

no real changes here, except one very sharp stabby pain in my pelvis yesterday, which i cna only put down to bump kicking at my hip or similar.

definitely time for curries and long walks!

oh and the phone calls and text messages have started in earnest now. I think i might write a template message to send: "no, haven't had the baby, i'm fine. speak soon x" Grin

gallicgirl · 20/01/2011 11:04

2 hours in traffic shanster? You must live in Atlanta! lol
There is this website: www.spinningbabies.com/ with some ideas of positions to encourage baby to move but basically anything with your bum in the air is good and don't slouch backwards on the sofa. It might be the placenta that's causing the baby to be transverse. i was told at my ECV that a high placenta can be an issue. I hope baby turns in time for you.

The ex seems a bit mad travis. Perhaps your OH could visit him for the day if you live close enough but I certainly wouldn't be having DSs over for a visit at this point. Maybe ask his mum what arrangements she's made to pick him up in the middle of the night if you go into labour or if she's happy for him to watch or hear you screaming? Why would someone think that baby will wait once an induction is booked?

Midwife cancelled the home visit postponed from yesterday as there is a home birth and lots of other visits. I have to go to clinic this afternoon instead but at least she called good and early so my day isn't wasted :)

AmIGoingMad · 20/01/2011 11:16

I'm so with you on the pathetic wee situation! And also- all these samples for the MW are driving me mad as it's so difficult to negotiate holding pot etc! tmi Blush
pootle I am so impressed with the noite taking and the cooking! I've gone for the lazy option and stocked the freezer with ready meals!
travis I def agree that you need to explain that it's not ideal for you!
salt sending lots of sympathy!

Just a quick catch up post for now- I'm off to meet a friend's little one for the first time! Smile

gallicgirl · 20/01/2011 11:29

I can't pee in the little pot anymore without it going everywhere! Blush Will have to find something with a wider neck for later.

Enjoy your visit AmI I really want to visit the babies already born to my NCT group but they need to settle in a bit first!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 20/01/2011 11:40

My wee confession is that I have a larger pot in the bathroom and wee in that and then decanter it into the impossibly-small-wee-container the docs give you. That must have been designed by a man!!

Off to get more photo corners and to mutter madly at bump to get out... :o

Crystylline · 20/01/2011 12:00

i know we're all merrily muching our way through these last few days/weeks, but wanted to ask about evil heartburn and eating patterns.

I've noticed that if I eat (anything, including dinner)after 8pm, my heartburn is significantly worse and i have to get up through the night to down gaviscon (followed by lactulose!). also am then famished by the morning and eat about three breakfasts over the course of a couple of hours: toast, then cereal, the yoghurt etc

so, is anyone else experiencing this? or have any tips on avoiding this late night heartburn? - it's so bad that I've been sick with acid reflux on occasion and feel like i can't move when it starts.

lol @bubba's wee decanter!

gallicgirl · 20/01/2011 12:01

heartburn? What's that?

runs and hides

Crystylline · 20/01/2011 12:12

gallic no fair!!!

belches some acidic nasty morning breath in gallic's direction!! Grin Grin

gallicgirl · 20/01/2011 12:18

I've had a little bit but not for a few weeks now. I just drink lots of water when I feel a bit ouchy. I found avoiding bread and orange juice helped.

I also only have one stretch mark. Admittedly it covers the whole of my tummy but it is so intermingled I think I can count it as one entity. It seems to have just appeared. I noticed a little bit of tightness around my belly button a couple of weeks ago but since buying and applying ridiculously expensive bio-oil, it has spread like chicken pox in a nursery school.

CupcakesHay · 20/01/2011 12:22

Hmm you lot have passed the heart burn onto me - I had yoghurt for breakfast and i had awful heartburn waiting for m/w.... who took an hour to see me! ugh.

Anyhow - baby is half engaged. All fine, urine fine (i do the decanting thing too!), b/p fine. Not going to see her again til 3rd feb! So hoping i never make it! Grin

shanster UGH traffic

Good girl bubba on the photo corners! better than housework.

And running agree with cyber - maybe mocha might work better for you - or have your gaviscon chaser ready!

Are you mkaing mobile from scrathc cyber or are you doing it without instructions?

Just had mini-row with my mum - she's panicking about everything being packed up in 7/8 weeks time when we leave her - i said DH would help but she seems to think we need a timetable for it now. UGH!

crystylline let us know hoe you get on with those long walks - at least it's sunny today!

Think i will make DH take me out for tea and cakes next thurs when he gets here before we go to antenatal!

Oh - and bumped into my "friend" (well, the girl i sat next to) from antenatal classes this morning, and she's dreading it to.... so that makes me feel better! Grin

Lunch - and then i'd better get wiggle on - sorry if i've missed anyone...

Crystylline · 20/01/2011 12:30

gallic weirdly water doesn't seem to help much Sad

i have two strburst stretch marks and i quite like them!! they look like handprints on either side of the bump. i've got bio oil and palmers tummy butter which is very lovely. guess i'll see what's there after labour and what state generally my poor tummy is in. terrified of splitting my stomach muscles, as they already look like a cone head!

it's a beautiful day cupcakes so i'm off to the moors for a trek i think. glad the MW visit went well. you need to get your mum to stop stressing! i'm sure it will all be fine - no need in worrying about it now, as I suspect you'll have so much more to sort in the next few weeks!

enjoy your lunch!
