bubba Bathrooms and floors on my list today too. Admittedly the floors have been on my list for a couple of weeks now Blush

shouts encouragement to bubbababy

Got up early as midwife visiting at some point this morning. Would love to be in bed still snuggled up to DP but my hips are in agony. They seriously ache in the morning and I have to turn over every 10 minutes or so, an activity that in itself takes 10 minutes or so sometimes!

I got 2 facebook messages and 2 texts yesterday asking if baby had arrived. Oh, and an email from my friend who has been asking every day since Christmas pretty much so she doesn't count! I'm sure it will only get worse.

RockLover · 19/01/2011 09:27

Morning ladies!

Had a scare this morning as baby is usually wriggling around at around 5am/6am but this morning come 8am I'd felt nothing since going to bed the night before. Shoved loads of sugary food down my neck in order to get him going....nothing.

So in a fit of panic I left a message with the mw team and guess what? As soon as I put the phone down the little beggar started moving about. I am going to look such an idiot if the mw calls me back! He frightened the bloody life out of me, little sod!!!

I have now eaten a tonne of food because baby wasn't moving, so as well as having a fright I have also been a complete piggy this morning and I'm STILL hungry. God I'm going to have to go on an epic diet after this little one makes an appearance.

I ordered some toys for baby yesterday after realising we haven't got anything for him to look at in the first month. So I have bought some lovely high contrast soft toys for him, can't wait for them to arrive now.

Well, I suppose I better go and do something to take my mind off food or I am going to be the size of a house by this afternoon.

gallicgirl · 19/01/2011 09:35

Poor rock It's always worrying when they don't move as expected. I usually only realise at bedtime that she hasn't moved much but bit late to do anything about it then. In all fairness, she wriggles most at bedtime which helps.

I sometimes get a few really active days then a few quiet days which worry me then I remember that it's the active days which are unusual, not the quiet ones.

CupcakesHay · 19/01/2011 09:40

Pleased i'm not the only one panicking. I was in tears last night as i was getting REALLY strong braxtons and they last for about an hour. And even though I KNEW they were braxtons, and not real ones (cos when i moved around, they stopped) - i suddenly started thinking, ok so DH is coming to UK on friday - but what happens if baby can't wait til DH gets to Devon on the 26th??? And DH is going out on Sat night with very old friends he hasn't seen for years - so then I started thinking "what happens if he comes on a saturday, how would DH get here?"

So I need to chill today and tell baby to hang in there.

Poor you rock - but it's funny - cos my baby has his routine too and if I was sitting there late at night and he wasn't wiggling, i'd panic too.

Ooh - what toys did you order rock? The only newborn baby toys i have are the lamaze moose and 2 contrast soft baby books. But I also know my best friend is planning to buy a Disney Roo for baby (she's going to be godmother, and her name is Ruth and we call her Roo) and other best friend is planning to buy a lamaze toy... so i'll just wait and see! Oh, and i have activity mats.

Love your free internet access ladybuzz - that's brill isn't it. how is Kali? Is she adorable? What do your DSs think???

And i agree - COME ON BABY BUBBA, FUZZY & GALLIC - and love the constant - have you had it yet texts!

Right - def off to Asda today to buy my cheap and cheerful top which has print on it - thinking ahead for breast feeding and leaky nipples!!! Grin

Ok - no more panicking from me - agreed?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 10:08

Boooo - have run out of photo corners. No excuse not to do the floors :(

But, have now completed 2 1/2 photo albums - dating back to when DD1 (now 3 3/4) was 8 months old!! But run out of photos and photo corners when DD2 was christened (almost 2 yrs ago!). Need to get onto photobox next. Ooh, can do that instead of the floors. Result! Thanks for your help ladies :o :o

no more panicking cupcakes

RunningKatie · 19/01/2011 10:21

Panic? Us? Grin

Last night was a 3 spoons of gaviscon night, also woke up realising my boobs were leaking down my arm. Blush

Got MW in a bit, so need to find out what happens here. One of my friends is booked in for an induction on Sunday eve, was a bit surprised by that as I'd assumed they'd just do them Mon to Fri.

Had wondered if we'd have any new arrivals overnight as don't more babies appear on a full moon? Obviously ours haven't read that memo.

Oh, and I shaved my legs this morning, that was far too energetic so I'm now sitting watching TV and drinking tea. :)

Come on babybubba, babyfuzzy and babygallic. Babycupcakes - you stay put for a bit longer!

Crystylline · 19/01/2011 10:37

Come on babybubba, babyfuzzy and babygallic, babyrock, babytravis, babykatie (sure I've missed someone). Babycupcakes - you stay put for a bit longer!

well, i'm getting lots of deliveries today - is it odd to hope for a baby delivery too?

had lots of squirming movements v. low in my pelvis all day yesterday and quiet baby this morning.

MW says that it's not uncommon to have busy and quiet days at this stage; in fact she' said it might be a sign that labour is on its way - here's wishing!

we're a frustrated bunch aren't we?

so, long walks for me i think - it's bright and sunny, but v. frosty.

and whoever was asking about pineapple... you have to eat several of them for them to have any effect. lol.

if anyone braves the castor oil, then we're into desperate measures! [boak]

katie glad i'm not the only one with embarrassingly leaky boobs! i had to change my duvet yesterday for that very reason. looked like someone had thrown a bottle of milk all over my bed.

p.s the moon was stunning last night.

RockLover · 19/01/2011 10:42

Cupcakes I bought a Lamaze Captain Calamari, Lamaze activity book and a Whoozit (I think that's what it's called). They are very bright with contrasting colours, so hopefully will be stimulating for baby to look at.

I am sat on the sofa thinking I should be doing something, but DP did the washing up from dinner last night (I did the first lot though). I have baby laundry to fold, but I've run out of drawer space to store more clothes, so I am leaving it in the washing basket for the time being.

I keep thinking that maybe I should take a walk into town just for some fresh air but I have nothing I need to buy and it's FREEZING outside today (-4 this morning).

I feel guilty being lazy, but I'm really tired and have no motivation to do anything other than veg here on the sofa. I really can't wait for baby to get here so that I actually have stuff to do!!!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 10:53

guilty being lazy???? rock we're clearly not of the same ilk after all :o :o

having said that, I slept for 3 hrs Mon afternoon and when I told my friend and said how guilty I felt about it, she reminded me that this could indeed be the last time ever that I get to do that... (especially as DH has started to make 'no' noises about a possible 4th!).

swept and hoovered floors, just not sure I have the effort to clean them too. hmmm

SaraL77 · 19/01/2011 10:53

Cupcakes you're due on the same day as me- I seem to flip from doing lots of cleaning/sorting/rushing around to sitting down and not having energy or inclination to do anything- I'm bored of waiting!

Had 38wk check up today- doc reckons babys head is fully engaged- that would explain my 'waddling' and feeling that there's a bowling ball wedged in my bum! DS1 was born on his due date, doc says it tends to follow a similar pattern with subsequent babies- so here's hoping I only have 10 or so days left to wait!

anyone doing hypnobirthing? I am listening to a CD but last time round I didn't really get 'into' it, but I'm sure it calmed me a bit.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 10:58

Hope your doc is right sara as my first was four days early and 2nd was bang on her due date - which should mean this little bugger darling making an appearance sometime today, tomorrow or Friday. Fingers and toes but not legs crossed!!

RunningKatie · 19/01/2011 11:17

-4? Rock, you need to stay indoors and keep warm.

Sara, I've listened to the hypnobirthing cd which sends me to sleep every time.

How did it get to be 11.15 already? Best go and figure out what I'm going to wear this afternoon, my current outfit isn't fit for public viewing. :)

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 11:22

lol runningK - my belly hangs out of the bottom of all my maternity tops Blush but at least my only plans to step outside today involve the hospital or nursery/pre-school (whose teachers and other parents look sympathetically on - I swear they think I'm massive anyway, so I might as well fulfill their beliefs) :o

travispickles · 19/01/2011 11:23

Babytravis still hanging out where it's warm, snug and biscuit-filled. Although I was up a lot in the night with 'contractions', period-pain/backache sensations so I think my body is starting to prepare. Friend came round with a load of clothes 3-6months yesterday so have washed, dried and now folding. Don't think am cut out to be a domestic goddess!!
Come on babybubba, babyfuzzy and babygallic, babyrock, babytravis, babykatie!!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 11:44

Buggery bollocks - was on the reserve list for complementary medicine thingy this morning and they phoned and left a message - but on my old mobile number - just checked it now as it's still active for some reason!! Pants!

Mind you, shows how desperate I am that I'm considering hocus pocus medicine to get this one out of me!! :o :o

Come on babytravis!! Out you come - there are plenty more biscuits on the outside and your mummy will wrap you warm and snug!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 11:52

Cancel the buggery bollocks - they're going to fit me in after the DAU appt this afternoon - and she's even going to come to the hospital to meet me there!

RunningKatie · 19/01/2011 11:52

bubba - my belly hangs out of the bottom of everything, I absolutely love my bump bands! :)

  • NCT girl who had 76 hour labour followed by emergency CS, her baby was 10lb 11oz. Shock Just seen pictures and my eyes are watering.....
NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 12:01

Wow - that hurts (I can confirm that big babies hurt!!), and they're also greedy little buggers things once they're out.

but fear not runningK, your NCT friend has statistically improved your chance of having an easy, CS-free labour!! :o :o Honestly, I used to be clever.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 12:10

My belly button is really hot Confused Hmm - anyone else got this?

gallicgirl · 19/01/2011 12:16

I'm starving but I know if I go to make lunch, the midwife will appear.

Of course if I hang on and don't make lunch, she'll call and ask me to go to clinic this afternoon instead.

I've had a reasonably productive morning though so it's not been wasted.

It must be so frustrating to go through all the pain of labour and then still have to have an EMCS. At least your friend's baby arrived safely.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 19/01/2011 12:30

how big is your house gallic??! Wink

Crystylline · 19/01/2011 12:38

as big as her bump?

Fuzzywood · 19/01/2011 12:40

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't fit in maternity clothes anymore, I spend most of my time when out and about pulling my top down and jeans up.
You've reminded me Bubba that I have a photo album I've done nothing with, might do that later. Really need to clean the cooker hob as its a disgrace but really have no motivation to do it.
Right better get some lunch as the hunger is starting to beat the desire to stay vegitating

gallicgirl · 19/01/2011 12:43

It is TINY!

I just mean that I'll have to stop tucking into my lunch when MW arrives and I'd rather wait and eat in peace IYKWIM.

She's still not arrived and I know she does clinic from 13:30 so I suspect she won't come but I'd have thought she would have called. Confused

I think I'd rather haul myself up to the clinic and then at least I can arrange my day as I choose. I know that will mostly mean doing very little and snoozing on the sofa but hey, at least I won't be interrupted!

RockLover · 19/01/2011 12:44

If your mw is right sara my little one will end up being at least 4/5 days late. DD was born a week late, but I was in labour for a good 2 days before they actually managed to get her out Hmm.

I kind of do want to go early, but only having 8 days left until my due date I don't feel that will happen. My sis has just texted in a panic to see if I am in labour because she thinks I'll go early, but I just can't see it myself.

Although baby is very quiet today, and they say things slow down when birth is imminent, but that could just be an old wives tale. Plus he does have a pattern of being very active one day and then really chilled for a few days.

Much as I am terrified of giving birth, I bloody hate being pregnant and just want this over and done with. I'm definitely in grumpy pregnant lady mode today. Hmph.
