A new thread for all us friendly Dec ladies

We sit and we type,
And we stare at our screens;
We all have to wonder
What this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam,
Through the rooms in a maze;
Looking for something or someone,
As we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other;
We type all our woes;
Small groups we do form,
And gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody
To type out our name;
We want recognition,
But it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,
And sometimes flirt;
In PMs (IMs) we chat deeply,
And reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships -
Yet why, we don't know;
But some of these friendships
Will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen,
We can be so bold?
Telling our secrets
That have never been told.
Why is it we share
The thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see,
As though we were blind?
The answer is simple;
It's as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems
And need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people,
But tell someone we must;
So we turn to the computer,
And to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy,
The truth still remains:
There are Friends Without Faces,
With odd little names.

Thanks Jayfirst I too got a birth ball from sports shop but haven't managed to get DH to blow up yet. The MW i spoke to this morn recommeded holding bump before standing and using a hotwater bottle. Must catch up with posts though

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 14:09

ANOTHER THOUGHT...you can use tubi grip as a support, i got given that a while back but i am quite a hot ( ooooer) person and wearing it made me sweat even more, but its worth thinking about. Also when you are in bed at night, if you have a silky nightie it helps with turning over as you slide quite easily, although this may give dh the wrong idea if you know what i mean!
Just to change the subject a bit, i had a bacon sammich for lunch wow have i got bad heartburn now...its a nightmare, have eaten a pack of rennies near enuff!

I am often sat at the computer on mine. and watching tv.........yes any none parent types and all males think it looks v funny but i dont care -its comfy!!!

ei23monster · 18/10/2005 14:21

i posted about this last week sometime but i was wonderin if you guys cud have a guess on expectnet on my game its called bigtig05! thanx

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 14:24

YUMM, come to think of it i had mash last night and had no bother at all....i love bacon sammichs and i even grilled it so as to avoid the fried fallacy (is that how you spelit!)
Try putting a cpl of those laughing cow cheese triangles in your mash, makes it ever so creamy, i use to use raw eggs ( family thing) but since being pregnant have had to comprimise, and if you are feeling adventerous stick in a little mustart to give it that twang!

bigscaryeyes · 18/10/2005 14:24

thanks again JAY - I like the silky nighty thing turing over in bed is def a prob it wakes me whereas turning over in sleep wouldnt normally.

ei23monster · 18/10/2005 14:28

mmmm i might try the mustard thing then sounds tasty!! dp doesnt really like mustard aswell so i cud have more for me then aswellhaha

bonkerz · 18/10/2005 14:29

Thank you ladies. the card was wonderful and i really feel honoured to be thought of at this time. Had another bouquet arrive today as well from my old mate WIGWAMBAM and then ofcourse your card! It really is amazing to know i have this network of support because without it im not sure who (apart from DH) i could tak too.
Todays been hard for me as ive decided to just cry when i want to and not pretend im ok. DS has been great and doesnt seem phased by mummy in tears every 20 odd minutes! Have found a pic of my mum looking so happy and keep looking at it so i can get the picture of her laying on the bed gone from my head. Its helping but its an emotional time.
Have also been sorting things i want to put with mum in the coffin. Have decided to ask for a scan pic again just for my mum. Then it occurred to me that my mum is now with my babies and it helps to know she will be with them and will guide them whilst im not there.
ok crying again so am gonna go. Just another thankyou again and will be back again soon. Am off tonight to basingstoke but will try and pop on between funeral arrangements etc. Thank you girls so much. Love to you all.

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 14:36

bonkerz, just to sen you my condolences, it really cant be easy and i wont pretend to know how you feel becasue i dont, but it seems that you are managing to keep things flowing by letting your body do what it needs, ie cry and talk about it, i am sure that as with anything it is so much worse when you bottle it up. Even though i dont know you my thoughts are wth you.

Np's scarey thats what we are here for i guess to share experiences and help each other through times. I have lots of other tips but dont want to bore everyone with them, give me a shout if you want to compare pain and discomfort an the art of easing it!!

You go EI with the mash, like you said if he wants something else he can make it!! hehehe

Hi DQ, sorry to ask and i dont want to be insensitive in anyway but why are yoou having another scan? is there something wrong? I must 've missed the post telling us what was the matter, hope its nothing too serious.

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 14:37

ps. can you OD on rennies?

ei23monster · 18/10/2005 14:47

i dont think you can od on rennies but my dp's nan seems to think that people who eat loads of them will have babies with white scummy stuff on their heads!![duh] i told her that the white stuff is called vernix and nothin to do with rennies but she said she wouldnt recommend takin them cause of that!! shes so weird!![rollin eyes emoticon]

bigscaryeyes · 18/10/2005 14:51

Bonkerz - just read soem of thread - and you still found the time to post on the maternity leave thread for me - even bigger thankyou big hugs for you, kind thoughts are with you.

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 14:53

lol at your dp's nan's suggestion of the white stuff on the babies head!! I wonder.. if thats true then what happens if you eat to much of another substance...like chocolate or baked beans....lol

ei23monster · 18/10/2005 14:58

i actually think she may be losin her marbles so she prob suggest to lay off all runny/ chalky foods for fear of havin a tomato sauce covered baby or somethin of that effect!! lol she really is rather nutty!!

sweetheart · 18/10/2005 15:03

Bonkerz - I'm glad your getting lots of support even if it is from outsiders! I hope your funeral arrangements go OK - it's lovely to think that your mum can be with your angels.

Feeling totally uncomfortable today - baby's feet are right up in my ribs - little bugger! Just want to go home and lounge - permanently!!!

OP posts:
kangel · 18/10/2005 15:04

Thanks for your reassurance DQ - I too thought it was a bit tactless to and it made me panic abit but I guess alot can happen in 4 weeks.

One of my old bosses bought in a massive box home made chocolate truffles for me - hes made my day!! Melt in your mouth pure white and milk chocolate.

ei23monster · 18/10/2005 15:20

that was really nice of your boss kangel! is he givin out any more as im always up for some free choccies enjoy them hun!!

scully · 18/10/2005 15:25

Kangel, definitely still time for the baby to move. The standard is by around 35wks it is in the position it will likely stay in, which is why I'm being scanned at 36wks to see what my monkey is doing. But saying that, some babies do still move after this, most have run out of room though. Definitely sitting on the floor, the sports ball, and on hands and knees (like you're washing the floor ) all give it the most room to move around at this stage. No slouching on a sofa or lying on your back where possible.
Having found I was breech last time at 37wks, with no-one having never mentioned optimal fetal positioning to me, it's become a bit of an obsession this time
If they do suggest ecv, it's worth considering, uncomfortable but not painful - otherwise there's reflexology and accupuncture. I've been seeing a lovely reflexologist since August - even if the baby is in the right position, my visits are so relaxing
No idea about the Rennies Jay - just the thought of having to take them makes me ill
Like the idea of mustard mash though

Jaysfirst · 18/10/2005 15:25

mmmmmm truffles on Kangel!!

yes sweeheart i was thinking tht right up till i got signed off, have been off now for two weeks and am now a bit bored. Guess its because i dont know many peeps where i live and all my fam are in Nottingham. Still it i guess i shouldnt complain i am getting all the much needed rest for me and baby.

Does anyone have cable or sky tele? if so do you watch the baby programmes on channel 804, discovery home and health. I cant get enuff...birth and babies all day long!

kangel · 18/10/2005 15:36

Thanks Scully, will try sticking my bum in the air for a while over the next few weeks. Dr did say that it still had plenty of room to move so no real need to panic - also no real need for him to mention c-sec!!

Anyway choccy truffles are home made by bosses daughter and oooohhhhh they are delightful! Can only manage one at a time though as they are soooooooooooooo rich and sickly! Would post some out to you girlies but the'll end up a squidgy mess - will eat one for each of you instead!

expatinscotland · 18/10/2005 15:39

Anyone else losing weight? The iron pills prescribed for my anaemia made me incredibly sick. I was vomitting for days. Well, that put me right OFF eating at all.

I've felt like my digestive system hasn't been working properly for about a month now and (TMI warning!), food is staying undigested in my stomach for ages.

As it was, even before I fell ill, I wasn't able to eat much as my stomach was pushed up so high.

Now I'd rather do anything than eat.

I've lost over half a stone and food literally makes me gag.

ChaCha · 18/10/2005 15:39

Message for Expat (sorry to gatecrash)

Just read about your anaemia on another thread. My blood tests came back showing slight anaemia and I was prescribed horrible ferrous sulphate tablets (400mg) which really made me ill! Midwife suggested I try floradix and has made so much difference. Have you tried that?
Hope you're well xx
