Hi

Still whispering the good news but is there anyone else out there wishing they had made the most of the Stilton this Christmas? [Wink]

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pookamoo · 17/01/2011 11:02

Hi all, please may I join?

I got my BFP just before Christmas, but not sure of EDD yet as going to see the midwife on Thursday morning .
This is my second pg, I have a DD who is 26 months. I'm 31.

My symptoms have mainly been sore, enormous boobs, almost constant nausea (not actually sick yet though), and extreme tiredness!

Should we start a list? Here we go:

Pookamoo: 31, PG with DC2, EDD: ?

belgina · 17/01/2011 11:02

Right... Just back from EPAC, had my scan and now I'm very confused. There's only a yolksack, which would put me at about 4-5 weeks. Yet how could I have had a pos test only 1 week after the new year. The other possibility is that it stopped developing and that I'm going to miscarry any day. I should be due a period on the 20th, so I suppose I'll find out soon enough Confused I must say that my symptoms are there, though a lot lighter than with the other pregnancies, which has had me worried all week Sad

Sorry for the mememe post. It's difficult when not many people irl know.

greedychops · 17/01/2011 11:24

Sorry to hear that things are a bit up in the air belgina - guess there is not much to do but wait and see although there seem to be lots of threads on mn about only seeing certain things on scans, and then things in time sorting them out to the right dates - sure there will be plenty who have been through similar who could give you some advice.

Hi pokamoo and mrsSawyer. We have a stats list here so add yourselves on Grin

Pil have taken the boys to soft play - yipee! Am so tempted to just curl up on the bed with a book, but I have a lot of work to do so better get of mn and start.

murkle · 17/01/2011 12:02

Hello, I'd like to join as well please. I'm 27 and this is my first pg. I think the EDD is 21st September. I took a test on Tuesday after I apparently kept saying "Can you smell that?" (and then 2 on Weds, and one on Thurs - all BFP, not sure why I didn't just believe the first one).

I'm so pleased to have come across this group, cos dh (who is v pleased with himself at the mo) has banned me from telling my mum for the time being. He's right, she's hopeless at keeping anything secret. And I guess it's nice for just us to know. But if my boobs don't stop growing at the rate they are, I won't be able to fit through the office door a month from now, and then I'll probably be rumbled anyway. Sorry if TMI, but it's so just so weird .

Hope you get a chance to get to that book greedychops!

belgina · 17/01/2011 12:17

Hmm, just did another test and the line is still there, but a lot fainter...

ursigurke · 17/01/2011 13:09

belgina, sorry to hear that. It must be really difficult for you to not knowing and just needing to wait. But as greedychops said, there have been many stories of worrying scans and then normal healthy babies. I wish you all the best. And please don't worry about mememeposts. This is the right place to talk about your worries and we can all hold your hand.

Misty9 · 17/01/2011 13:13

Belgina my first positive test was on New Year's Day, and I'm 6+3 today - so it's possible that you're 5 weeks and tested positive very early?
Hope you're ok; I've been referred to EPAU by my GP today so fingers crossed they'll offer me a scan (they have a policy of not doing so until 7 weeks, but I'll be 7wks on Friday...)

This first trimester is sooo long, and soo anxiety-provoking! On a positive note (!) I felt quite queasy this morning, but that could have been nerves on way to GP... Confused

Hope everyone else is doing well x

slowshow · 17/01/2011 14:10

I tested positive on Jan 3rd and I'm 5+4 today, so it's very possible to be only 4-5 weeks if you tested positive a week after New Year. When was your last period Belgina?

pookamoo · 17/01/2011 16:57

Ah, thanks! HAve added myself.
I completely lost track of my last antenatal thread after about a week because it moved too quickly. Hopefully I will do better this time.

Sorry you're worried, belgina, hope it all turns out well for you!

acaseofyou · 17/01/2011 18:11

Just wanted to drop in and say my sickness arrived - sort of! Yay!

I don't know why I'm yaying actually, as it's flipping horrible. I'm extremely lucky and haven't physically thrown up at all yet, but the trade-off seems to be WANTING to throw up every minute of the day.

I'm currently eating every half hour or so to keep it at a manageable level, which is fine except it makes me look like a piggy to everyone at work who doesn't know.

Still - happy to have some tangible symptoms at last.

Belgina, I'm so sorry you're worried. Best of luck - hope it all works out. First trimester has made me so anxious! Can't wait to get past the 12-week mark.

feralgirl · 17/01/2011 19:31

Fingers crossed for you belgina - I hate this first few months. Can't wait until I'm a bit further in and I can tell everybody and relax a bit. Every twinge makes me nervous and I've had a lot of crampy pains which freak me out because I didn't get them last time. I think because I know so much earlier this time than with DS, I'm just much more paranoid.

I am also stupidly weepy. Just cuddling DS makes me well up. And I had a bugger of a day at work today and very nearly cried after a manager was a complete twunt to me (although I have a nasty feeling that I overreacted a bit Blush).

Can't wait until I'm big and fat and obviously pg and everyone has to tiptoe around me in case I get upset Grin

Misty9 · 17/01/2011 20:51

Spoke to nurse from EPAU this evening and because I've been having painful cramps all day they're treating it as suspected ectopic until proven otherwise :(
Going for emergency assessment tomorrow and may get scan - if not, booked in for one on Thurs morn.
I just want to know either way now :(

Xmasevie · 17/01/2011 20:55

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. No pains or twinges today. I did another clearable and it said 3weeks plus, that's the third one I've done since week 3, so hormones have increased as they should have every week which I find so reassuring!! Does anyone else feel bloated and constipated? I sure do! And losing my appetite. I think I am now 5 weeks 3 days - and time is still dragging cos I've known since 3 weeks 3 days. This little group is like a sanctuary. It really is amazing to think of all the important things going on just now, just amazing. Not told anyone this time, I told everyone before which made it so hard to until them
When I miscarried. Fingers crossed and praying every day for success xx

belgina · 17/01/2011 21:04

Thanks everyone. These next few weeks until my scan will dddddrrrrraaaaagggggg

acaseofyou I recognise what you describe. I always think that morning sickness should be renamed "all day nausea", because most people don't seem to be sick all that much, just nauseous. Eating little and often and just sticking to what you fancy is definitely the way forward. :o.

feral sorry you've had a rough day at work. It's so hard when no one knows. Although i'm terrible at hiding it and people usually guess before the 12 weeks are over :o. I think it's the constant snacking that does it, lol.

belgina · 17/01/2011 21:06

X-post misty oh no, I hope it'll go ok tomorrow. It must be soo scary :(

Xmasevie · 17/01/2011 21:15

Misty - get a clearblue digital test - it tells u how many weeks since conception. I tested positive at 3 weeks, depends on how much hcg is needed to make the test work. Best wishes xxx

redlaura · 17/01/2011 21:56

Hello all. Got fingers and toes crossed for those of you with scariness going on! Really hope these things just pass on their own and you come through xxx

Can relate to the nausea but I wonder if any of you have a giant spot in their temple. Seiously this thing is do big it generates it's own gravity. It hurts when i rest my head on the pillow on that side. Thank god for my fringe!!!

Tired too but have weird sleep patterns like a couple of you have mentioned. Sometimes I could just shake dave with jealousy when I see him sleeping deeply. Turns to murderous thoughts when he rolls over and pulls the duvet off.

I blame hormones!!! Happy dreams all

belgina · 17/01/2011 22:25

slowshow this is the confusing bit. My last period was 23 dec, but seeing that I had a BFP 2 weeks after that, I thought it must have been a false one, especially as it was much lighter. The period before that was 25 nov Confused. If the 23 really was my last AF, then I'm only 3 weeks now, but from the 25nov, I should be 7 weeks. I really can't get my head around it and have spent the day studying the calendar...

redlaura · 18/01/2011 07:42

Does sound very confusing for you belgina.

If at all possible (which I know it isn't really) try not to dwell on it because the stress won't be good for you either. Nature will take her course and we all have to hope that she knows what she's doing. This whole thing is entirely out of our control which makes the it all so much harder.

Thinking of you lots today

Misty I hope you're okay today. We're all with you xxx

yoshimigalloway · 18/01/2011 11:52

hello, I'd like to join please. Did 2 clearblue last night and a digital one this morning and seem to be pregnant! I'm quite relieved that it's not all in my imagination.

The digital says 3+ so I make that 4 weeks + 5. I've got a very shocked OH at the moment, we were trying but only started at christmas. I don't think he thought it would happen quite that soon! I'm 29 and this will be our first baby.

alibaba1980 · 18/01/2011 12:53

Hello, I'd like to join too as I found out I'm pregnant last week and will be 5 weeks tomorrow. This was also quite a shock as we'd only been trying for 2 months! I'm 30 and this will be our first.

I'm really excited but also very nervous - it all seems too good to be true! I saw the GP last week and now have to wait another 5-6 weeks before I see the midwife.

ursigurke · 18/01/2011 13:34

Nice to see this thread growing.
I hope those with worries will soon get good news.

Nausea here is still managable as I'm almost constantly eating. At least I'm once again more or less off chocolate. Last time I lost 3kg at the beginning simply because I had stopped eating chocolate.
redlaura, I've got a couple of tiny spots and my poor DD (who is still partly bf) got plenty. Luckily they are tiny but I do feel a bit guilty Wink

Misty9 · 18/01/2011 14:02

woohoo!!

Just back from EPAU and saw poppy seed in an internal scan - with heartbeat and everything!!
Apparently, the spotting is due to an irritated cervix (common if been on pill for long time) but they don't know where the pain might be coming from. Might just be stretching pains I reckon.

So relieved, but probably won't feel completely ok til 12 week scan.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance, it means a lot when it's still so early and no-one knows (apart from DH of course). Grin

Misty9 · 18/01/2011 14:03

congrats to the new Sept mummies too :)

redlaura · 18/01/2011 15:08

Great news Misty! Big sigh of relief all round

welcome to the new mums to be.

I'm off work today feeling so completely nauseous. What I don't get is that we're supposed to eat to provide the right nutrients for baby-building and yet the the thought of eating makes me want to heave. Mother Nature playing yet another trick.

ANywone else getting headaches? urgh urgh urgh
