Hi

Still whispering the good news but is there anyone else out there wishing they had made the most of the Stilton this Christmas? [Wink]

OP posts:

feralgirl you poor thing. Do you feel better today? It's a bit of a slog isn't it! I fell asleep in the bath yesterday before going to karaoke... Which was great by the way!! Marmite is one of my staples. Have you ever tried melting a spoon or two of marmite into hot water and having it as a drink - a bit like some folk do with bovril? This is probably making half of you heave.

I love that I'm pregnant and so excited. It's just a tough ride at the minute. I dreamt that my OH died last night and woke up crying? WTF is that all about???

feralgirl · 06/02/2011 11:33

I'm feeling a bit better after breakfast of marmite on toast. Will DEF be trying the marmite drink; I used to love bovril as a kid so might have to get some of that too.

S+V sqaure crisps are the best, so vinegary! ANd those little packets aren't horribly high in calories either so not too sinful. I have eaten a whole jar of the preserved ginger in syrup in the last couple of days. And the syrup is sooooo good stirred into hot chocolate.

Poor DS has a chest infection and kept us up all night so I'm still absolutely shattered Sad

Why isn't there a MN emoticon for knackered?

MandaHugNKiss · 06/02/2011 13:48

I ate the salt and vinegar squares... at midnight Confused. THen I was text just after midnight telling me about Amanda Holden just after I'd gotten into bed and spent the next 3/4 of an hour just... y'know. These things are terrible to happen to anyone. But somehow it seems to hit harder if we're in a similar position (or soon to be). Can. Not. Imagine. POor woman.

A member of my extended family gave birth last week at 29+5 and that baby is doing amazingly well, breathing on his own, seems incredible (he was just 2lb 5ozs). We just really are not in control, are we? However much we like to think we are.

Sorry for getting maudlin Sad

Marmite drink - not sure. I saw some marmite chocolate in a shop before christmas - that is going too far, isn't it? Mind you, I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, so...

lxr1 · 06/02/2011 17:28

marmite on toast is my life saver in the mornings, it's pretty much the only thing I can stomach first thing.

Oh and salt & vinegar chipsticks - lovely Grin

Shouted at DH this morning for absolutely no reason, then burst into tears - he just wanted some help with a setting on the TV, and I got really p*ssed off that he couldn't work it out himself, I'm normally such a calm person....still feeling bad about it Sad

Xmasevie · 06/02/2011 18:01

i have been so hungry all day - I had toast, then grapfruit, two bowls of soup, crisps then a cheese salad and now feeling starving again. is anyone else just soo hungry all of the time? :)
i also shouted at DH today, he was only breaking his back doing DIY at the time and I was mad cos he wasnt listening to me, but actually what I was asking was impossible. oh well.
Really sad for poor amanda holden, and here I am just worried about getting to 12 weeks. thoughts and prayers are with her.

ssmile · 06/02/2011 19:39

I have nearly devoured a large bag of sweet chilli crisps today just loved the salty bit and yes I was having real butter on pappy white toast and marmite this morning. was just heaven. I have to eat constantly in the morning or I just want to heave. Had to pull over the car on Friday on the way to work was horrid undo seatbelt stickin head out of window whilst deep breathing. My DD was sitting in back "why we stopping mummy we LATE for preschool" gotta love them. Just managed to not baff out of the car window lovely...

Cant belive the Amanda holden news its SO sad and makes these little beans we are carrying so dreadfully precious.

greedychops · 06/02/2011 21:04

Yup can't stop eating here - but mostly small amounts very frequently, or I feel sick. Sick with an empty stomach, sick with too full a stomach.

Was really looking forward to a Chinese tonight but after the spring roll, I just felt rubbish.

Really hope the dc sleep tonight. Am knackered.

Horrible about Amanda Holden. Don't know if you hear of this happening more these days in general, or more cause of reading mn, but it's very sad how often it seems to happen.

Flossish · 07/02/2011 10:16

I'm feeling pants. I want to eat 24/7. Trying to graze on items slowly to make the eating time last - it's the only time I feel good! But last night started getting indegestion, so I couldn't even eat. I'm sure as sure can be baby is a boy - felt just like this with DS.
My midwife isn't until 12 weeks - 1st march so hopefully scan ASAP after that!

alibaba1980 · 07/02/2011 13:18

I feel rubbish today too and I wasted most of the weekend asleep on the sofa! I long for a time when I don?t feel ill! I had my booking in appointment on Saturday which was lovely, the midwife was able to answer all of my questions. I?ve now just got to wait 4 weeks to get a letter with my scan date. That feels like so long away. I share your feeling about Amanda Holden, it makes you realise how delicate pregnancy is. We all need to think positively though.

Xmasevie · 07/02/2011 22:14

Hi sept ladies! I have this dull pain in my lower abdomen and can't distinguish whether it's indigestion or cramp? Worried about every single pain I have. It's more pronounced on my right side. Does anyone else get this? I also feel pressure in my lower back which I think is constipation so I hope it's all related.
Are you girls on the baby bump app, it's really good for forums like this and handy for keeping up to date with babys developments.
Cant wait till my scan on wed - not sure if Ill be 9 or 10 weeks then :-)
Hope you're all good xx

redlaura · 07/02/2011 22:27

xmasevie I get this all the time. I get a random pain somewhere in the lower abdomin and I get all stressed and convince myself there's something wrong. Then eight times out of ten I have a bowel movement, the other two I break wind!!!! Apologies ladies but I've completely given up on any pretence at sophistication at the moment :-)

My issue at the moment is a hyperactive mind at night. Last night I only slept for two hours. Work is pretty stressful right now but I have to figure this out. It's not good cornmeal or the bean!

redlaura · 07/02/2011 22:29

Cornmeal???????? That should have read "for me". Need to sleep obviously!!!

Xmasevie · 07/02/2011 22:41

Thanks Redlaura! I will sleep so much better tonight. managed to have a plopsie (so it was bowel related!!) sorry for tmi but after watching one born every minute I think all self dignity must go out the window with pregnancy. And I dont care! This forum is so great for reassurance.
Cornmeal pmsl!! Put it down to exhaustion or typing on your phone like me. Work is stressful for me too but I got my permanent contract today which is great :-)
How far along are you again Redlaura? X

redlaura · 08/02/2011 07:50

xmasevie I'm 10+2 and have my first midwife appt on Friday and scan on 25 feb. Feels real now!! Although my midwife appt got lost in the post. Good job I called the hospital yesterday or I might have missed it.
Glad you feel better. Is this your first too? With regard to pregnancy I'm trying to stay quite zen about, but maybe this is why I'm so stressed about work... Displaced stress? Either way I slept well last night. And to top it all off my OH has booked us into a spa hotel in the peak district as a treat! He's worried about how stressed I am too. What a love.

ssmile · 08/02/2011 07:57

I found preg yoga really helped me sleep. I had a stressful job with first preg and the yoga once a week was 'me' time, nattering to other ladies and I learnt how to just still my breathing, and stretch to release the nucleur wind helping those tummy pains :o

Nothing too strenrous (my spelling gone to pot2!) but it just really seemed to help me. I use it now in middle of night as seem to keep waking at midnight for a pee, 3am just random thoughts then my DD is up at 5am.

greedychops · 08/02/2011 15:20

Would love to do pg yoga but the teacher here is a neighbour and I don't really want anyone here knowing yet that I'm pg. Maybe in a few weeks time.

Just found another use for mn. Great as a diary. Just looked backto the same stage pg with ds2 to see if the sickness was the same, and it was quite interesting reading it all. Glad this thread doesn't move quite so quickly though.

ursigurke · 08/02/2011 20:48

greedychops, I'm a big fan of pregnancy yoga too and can't wait to start with it! I don't think you are allowed to start before 12 weeks anyway so you don't have to worry about your neighbour to find out.

redlaura · 08/02/2011 20:49

I've got preg yoga starting in march. My non-pg class wouldn't let men carry on and the pg class will take me after the twelve week mark. I really miss and think you're right ssmile that it will be the ticket to the land of nod. Also OH surprised me by bookin us into a spa hotel in the peak district next week. He's not really the romantic type but he really pulled it out of the bag!!! What a star!

redlaura · 08/02/2011 21:15

Jesus - has pregnancy taken away my ability to form coherent sentences?

ursigurke · 08/02/2011 21:23

Redlaura, you better get used to it! It will only get worse once the baby is here :)
I used to have a fairly good memory and since the birth of DD, it is really rubbish. The other day I could not remember at all that it had been me who had found the lid of the nose spray... about 24 hours earlier.

greedychops · 08/02/2011 21:35

Yup I'm another with no memory, and quite often can't form a coherent sentence.

So nauseous today.

ssmile · 08/02/2011 21:40

yep same ere.. who am I? no?? nope no memory arhhh thats why Im preg again :o

Xmasevie · 08/02/2011 21:59

Hi ya all!
Redlaura - yes this is my long awaited first. I'm
30 and 8+6. Can't wait!!!! Serioulsy loving the spa thing! Your oh is very thoughtful! We have our private scan tomorrow just to see heartbeat hopefully and confirm it's ok. I'm soooo excited. Im a stress head too but hopefully this scan will be stress busting. Trying not to let my job get on top of me but easier said than done sometimes!
Not started yoga or anything yet! I'm just being a couch potato whilst I still can
Night night ladies xx

redlaura · 09/02/2011 07:25

Making me chuckle ladies, thank you. Two good nights sleep on the trot now and half way to the weekend. Good luck today xmasevie! Thinking of you. RL

greedychops · 09/02/2011 12:34

Hope the scan goes /has gone well xmasevie.

The spa sounds wonderful Redlaura. We got cheap rooms in the Hilton last year and I promised ourselves that if we got pg, we'd go again for a treat and I'd get a pg massage, so just need to work out when the gp can have the boys (and be a bit heavier pg).

Well nausea has finally defeated me. Only eaten a wee thing of bread today, and was dry heaving over the toilet. Normally I eat even though I don't want to because it usually makes me feel better, but today I just don't fancy it.
