Hi

Still whispering the good news but is there anyone else out there wishing they had made the most of the Stilton this Christmas? [Wink]

OP posts:

Grin at made up words.

Am definitely feeling pooer today than I was yesterday.

Somehow I seem to be telling an awful lot of people, considering we were supposed to be keeping it quiet for a while. My best mate rumbled me when I started whittering about prams; my boss sussed me when I booked a "doctor's" appt in school time; we've leaked it to half our family...

I am rubbish at keeping secrets!

greedychops · 02/02/2011 20:43

I ended up telling viewers at our house before any family Blush. It just came out as they were asking why we were moving,, and I didn't want them to think that e house was too small to have two children in, so ended up telling themi was pg again and thought we needed another bedroom for that one. Oops.

Starting to get the evening nausea. After wanting it to happen,i am now regretting it as I had forgotten how horrible it is. Oh well, can't complain really.

Ran out of heating oil today. Another oops. Got some ordered for Friday but will be a couple of chilly nights.

I don't envy those of you trying to keep it from work colleagues.

Xmasevie · 02/02/2011 21:03

I told viewers the last time I was preggers! Funny how we tell complete strangers first! I also told the lady in the tile shop as I couldn't help lift the boxes!!

greedychops · 03/02/2011 19:24

Omg - is anyone else just Bursting into tears every few hours/minutes? I don't know what's going on with me just now (suppose I do really, being pg Blush ) but I just can't stop crying.

And my hair is all greasy.

My two boys were climbing on me in bed this morning and I just started crying. Totally stupid but I just cant help it. Just been crying at The One Show ffs - and it was the piece about junk food, not even the comic relief stuff.

Oh well. Better stock up on tissues for this pg.

feralgirl · 03/02/2011 19:48

PMSL at crying at The One Show!

One of my TAs asked me straight out this morning if I was pg! She was at pains to stress it's not because I've got fatter, just that I look different. Freaked me right out.

Scan appt came through today for Feb 28th; I can't wait to go public and start getting the attention and sympathy.

greedychops · 03/02/2011 19:52

I never get the just looking different feralgirl. My mil says that she knew my sister was pg at our wedding cause of how she was standing but she can only have been a few weeks pg at the time. She definitely hadn't put on weight cause she fitted the bridesmaids dress perfectly, so who knows what it is.

Managing to keep dry eyed during Eastenders!

ssmile · 03/02/2011 19:54

Oh my scan is also the 28th as well at least i think it is. My MW told me on the mobile when I was in a very busy place that it was tues 28th.... :) then phoned back to say arh no there isnt a tuesday I guess it must be monday!

ssmile · 03/02/2011 19:56

I guessed my SIL was preg when she was a few weeks. Her skin tone had changed and her bottom just looked different, not sure why just different :o

I also saw a picture my DH took xmas day of me and my skin looked different I guessed before I did the test I was preg from that! Biazzare

greedychops · 03/02/2011 20:32

Bet she wasn't too pleased if you told her her bottom looked different Grin. It's exciting that people are getting dates now for their dating scans.

Can't wait for mine. Won't believe it's happening till then.

Got to do some work now. Must get off mn. Just soo tired by the time the boys go to bed.

Tracie74 · 04/02/2011 10:59

Hi Ladies, Just found this site and glad I did, congrats to all. We have been trying for just under 3 years and in December we resigned ourselves that it wasn't going to happen naturally and started looking in to why it wasn't, was it me or him etc. I had an ovulation test 29th Dec then should have made an appt for the result after 10 days. In the meantime, I was late in Jan and did a test Jan 8th! I got a BFP!!! Woooohoooo! I still can't believe it. Absolutely delighted. I feel great, no sickness, not tired just bigger and sore boobs! I have my first Midwife/booking appt next Tuesday 8th, is there anything she can do just to confirm everything, don't know why I am concerned but I have never been pregnant before. I am going to Tenerife on the 15th and won't have had my scan by then either, am I jut being silly!!! I guess I just want to make sure everything is ok before I fly x

Tracie74 · 04/02/2011 11:02

BTW, I am due September 15th so that would make me 8 + 1 I guess? Is that right???

lxr1 · 04/02/2011 15:13

Congrats and Welcome Tracie Smile - we BFP'd on the same day!

Saw the lovely MW for my booking in appt today, was with her for whole hour. Have to go back to give more blood next week, as my veins would only provide one small syringe worth, and she wanted 3.....

Currently considered low risk, which is good.

Load's of bumpfh to read in the bounty pack now Grin

MandaHugNKiss · 04/02/2011 17:06

Welcome, tracie and congrats!

When I got my last bfp on 29th June 2009, I was two weeks away from a girls holiday to Marbella! It put a little dampner on things, for sure, but it was lovely to get some sun, relaxation, laughs and lovely meals before getting down to the 'serious business' of prepring for motherhood Grin Unless you're prepared to fork out for a private scan before you go to Tenerife then you just have to take it on good faith that everything is fine, and HAVE A GREAT TIME! (Oh, and hope that morning sickness doesn't creep in whilst you're there!). Bear in mind your skin may be more sensitive to the sun whilst pregnant meaning you may burn quicker than usual, or get heat rash when you usually don't.

Been feeling grim today. Gagging whilst preparing my 10month olds breakfast was a particular highlight of the morning.

Have you seen MN Towers has introduced Wine now? Just in tim for us to all be OFF it! Typical! Now, where are my Biscuit 's? Grin

(seems a lot of us have our scans on the 28th - can't wait for us all to report back how amazing it is to see our beans bopping about)

Xmasevie · 04/02/2011 21:35

Congrats tracie! We're both due the same day. Welcome xxxx

redlaura · 05/02/2011 10:03

Welcome tracie and hello to all you others. Sounds like we're all in the thick of it.. The last push of the first trimester. I've found this last couple of weeks very tough. Work is very stressful as my department is being audited on Monday. I also have lost all interest in my job and have no motivation and yet still lying awake thinking of all the things i have to do. Definitely a rough patch. Had to sack someone yesterday and just found the whole week awful. Trying to get perspective back.

I have my scan booked on 25 feb but have yet to have contact from midwife services??? Should I worry ( doesn't matter because I am anyway) should change my nickname to permanentlyanxiousandstresseslaura.

I'm just having a bad spell.

I've been really open at work since I got busted. I can't really be bothered to try and hide it while I have such a thin skin.

Will post something more positive soon I promise.

WHEN DO WE BLOOM??????

ssmile · 05/02/2011 10:32

I been feeling a bit low this week too. Very tired and emotional want to cry when I get too tired normaly around 2-3pm not good when sitting in busy open plan office. I got my hospital scan letter it was 28th Feb 2012 :o seriosuly hoping that is a typo would be size of bus in 12 months time Wink. Awaiting new date now!

redlaura I remeber blossming around 20wks - 30wks first time then got seriously knackered again for last bit

and my spelling has deserted me.....

greedychops · 05/02/2011 11:45

Yup agree with ssmile - with other two, it wasn't till about 17 weeks that I started feeling good again. Ms stayed till then. With my first I felt quite good right up till 40 weeks, but with e second I was much more tired, so who knows with this one.

Heating oil didn't arrive yesterday as promised so we have a cold house till Monday. Ah well, good excuse for a log fire and hot chocolate.

redlaura · 05/02/2011 15:07

xmasevie I meant to say that tetley do a good decaf green tea. I mean it's no builders tea or anything but it's not bad and it settles my stomach I find. Twinings also do a really nice decaf earl gray that with a drop of milk in it makes a more than passable cuppa. Give them both a try!

Going to my friends birthday do - karaoke!!! Upside I can drive. Downside - karaoke sober ???

Another top tip. Lucozade sport helps wih my nausea and gets some carbohydrate into me on days I can't eat much

greedy chops and ssmile you're kidding right???

Keep going everyone.

MandaHugNKiss · 05/02/2011 15:32

Tetley also do a naturally caffeine free tea called redbush - I bought some... and won't be drinking it. I tried! But, ugh. That said I'm kinda off tea anyway and coffee? Boak! (this is from someone who normally doesn't do ANYTHING until I've had my morning cup of coffee)

As for blooming... I think there are lots of different factors to take into account, but generally speaking I start to feel and look so much better around 14 weeks. But then I've never had a baby to care for during pregnancy (not to mention I'm still breastfeeding) so I don't know if that's going to affect how I cope/energy levels. Fingers crossed!

redlaura Karaoke sober? Good luck! That said, some of the most precious memories I have of my nan are singing karaoke with her when I was a teen (and so, sober!).

redlaura · 05/02/2011 15:52

manda with you on the redbush. It's the smell that gets me!!! Used to have to make it for a colleague. For some reason it makes me think of chewing tobacco. Not that I've ever tried that!

Can't imagine I'll be emulating your nan. Sounds like she could actually sing! Nice memories to have. To think that we'll me making memories for these little beans soon. sniff

Xmasevie · 05/02/2011 18:39

Thanks Redlaura :-) I'll look out for it. Been drinking Yorkshire decaff and it's lovely. Anyone else jet feeling exhausted just stuffed my face with doritos large pack and can't be assed with cooking ;-(

feralgirl · 05/02/2011 20:57

Gah, I had a lovely day today meeting my best mate for lunch and going shopping but I got home and was so ridiculously knackered that I puked up my lunch and then just sat in bed crying Sad

I'm bloody famished but the idea of actually eating anything is making me feel ill. I've just sent DH out for tomato soup and marmite for toast. I am wilting, def not blooming!

MandaHugNKiss · 05/02/2011 21:13

Aw, feralgirl you poor thing! It's kinda like the puking/crying cancels out the lovely time you had earlier, isn't it? But you DID have a good time, and once the hormones settle, you'll be having more of them (and keeping lunch INSIDE you, too!)

I had to have marmite the other day - all the people in the 'hate it' camp are a bit odd, no? Grin

greedychops · 05/02/2011 22:18

Sorry - don't get the love of marmite. My thing just now is salt and vinegar crisps. Keep feeling sick when my stomach is empty and just suddenly have to eat.

The one thing that I had with both other pgs which I haven't this time is a very much heightened sense of smell. Was expecting it but it just hasn't come. Not the keenest on the smell of coffee, but last time I could smell that the fridge was open from across the room.

MandaHugNKiss · 05/02/2011 22:38

S'funny you should say that greedy as my last prenancy I was complaining about the smell of cat food in the kitchen... when I was in my bedroom! Smell was very much my super power. No where near as keen this time which I'm not complaining about.

Aha, you've just reminded me I bought salt and vinegar square crisps earlier. Hmmm, do I really want them, or is it power of sugestion? Grin
