marne · 22/11/2005 19:17

Hi evryone,
Spent the weekend in hospital after yet another bleed, drove myself in on sunday morning and got home last night. Anyway had a scan yestaday and baby is fine.

poppyh, my bump is very small, asked yestaday if baby was the right size, was told she was spot on but she is curled up in a ball with her legs over her head so taking up less space hence the small bump.

desperatehousewife · 22/11/2005 20:01

oh marne - what a nightmare. are you feeling ok? why did they say there was a bleed?

RosiePosie · 22/11/2005 20:09

How scary for you marne! You must be so relieved the baby is fine. How many weeks are you now?

marne · 22/11/2005 20:12

They could'nt find the cause of the bleed wich is aparently a good sign. It was a nightmare in the hospital had to listen to a girl in labour all night in the room next to me also it was the first night away from my dd (she didnt even notice i had gone). met a girl who had a c-section the day before at 25 weeks, she showed me a photo of her little boy, he only weighed 2lb.

marne · 22/11/2005 20:14

Im 23 weeks, met a lady in hospital who is due the same day as me and our dd's are the same age and have the same name, whats the chances of that? She was also in with a bleed!

poppyh · 22/11/2005 20:17

Marne, glad youre ok.My best friend had several bleeds during her pregnancy and they couldnt find a cause either.Happily she had her baby full term, and he couldnt be healthier.I guess these things just happen to some people.

Frizbe · 23/11/2005 14:49

PR online bingo??!! didn't even know it existed! should have guessed tho.

Poppy H so you have a date! wow! must be nice to have something to work towards

Marne, phew glad all is ok, glad to see your baby is doing lots of yoga in there!

Zephyr, mid Apryl?

sorry to hear some of you are suffering with SPD....hope you all get some relief somehow soon....

RosiePosie · 23/11/2005 16:33

Frizbe - online bingo. .. don't even go there! It's unbelievably addictive, and whilst I haven't actually lost any money, I haven't won any either because I keep spending my winnings on more cards!

Munz, I hope you are feeling okay after your accident.

Jackstini · 23/11/2005 17:29

Marne - glad all is ok - nightmare having to listen to someone in labour all night!
Munx - hope you are not too shaken? Glad you and you boy are ok and hope the car is not too poorly
Welcome Laundrylover. lol your name reminded me how much ironing is in my pile at the moment!
Friz - love the name Neve - like this spelling too
I am getting rib ache again but don't care - have felt my first proper kicks on Monday and DH felt them too - hurrah!

romilly · 24/11/2005 11:52

Munz - i've only just caught up (as i've been in and out of hospital all week too) - so glad to hear you and beanie are ok after the accident - how scary hun, you take care of yourself and that precious cargo, hear me?!

marne - also sorry to hear you had a scary week, but great that all is well

friz - i havent TP'd yet this week, but think i'm about 8.5 squares

DHW - thanks for your post about the hypertension. sorry to hear you have suffered too. i am dreading it getting any higher but they have been really keeping an eye on me, back to hospital this afternoon for more monitoring. my mother had pre eclampsia in all her last pregnancies when she was the same age as me too.
think i need to stop work earlier than planned at this rate.

jackstini - hear you on the rib ache - oooouch!! i have terrible pain on my right hand side.

lizzylou - 4 stone! i reckon thats what i will get to as i have got to 2 already

Frizbe · 24/11/2005 12:57

Jackstini ouch!
Rom get the TP out
Munz hope your feeling ok today
RP lol, I'll make sure I stay away from it!
Well stuck in waiting for a delivery here today, am planning to eventually get upto meadow hell to get some Xmas shopping done.....where is this bloomin delivery!

munz · 24/11/2005 13:27

roughtly caught up girls, sorry i've nto been about much.

thanks for all ur concerns, the car's not badly damaged, thankfully it wasn't my car, it was a friends brand new corsa we went head on into a hedge, I wasn't going to go to the hosp but MN persuaded me to as i'd only have v weak flutters. (compared to last weeks monster kicks! lol) anyhow my boss drove me in DH met me say a dr who said 'clinically' me and baby were fine (only felt tummy) at him v angry with A&E dept, but he'd ring the ward and see what they said - 5 mins later I was on the ward - ensuite rooms I migh add all private as well with tv listening to my little boy, and also had a scan (was seen by a m/w and dr, then the consultant came in with 2 other drs she had a felt - I was happy to go home after seeing DS/hearing a healthy heart but consultant said no be cautious I had to stop in for 4 hours observation - sent DH off to the shop for a mars bar and a girlie mag, he then left to sort out the dogs (he'd left them in the house roaming) whilst I enjoyed a ham sarnie! lol - and a lie down/trisha, anyhow had a more detailed scan in the afternoon - DS opened his legs (had a bum view) winkle is huge! lol - DH is sooooooo proud! lol. growth is fine- head again slightly bigger than 25 weeks but abdomen is slightly smaller - so hoping the head stops growing! lol. back on the ward and then see another m/w b4 being allowed home at 2.30 ish! so took the rest of the day off as we're v quiet anyhow. DH pampered me with hot choc and cream! and he even ran me a bath - with bubbles! lol.

god monster account there! lol.

munz · 24/11/2005 13:37

now for the rest! lol....

friz - 26 weeks i'm 25+4 and measuring 8.5 squares - i've shrunk but DS is the right size etc so not bothered at all. what r u waiting in for then? also like Neve, (but also Kyra for a girl and of course pheobe!) lol.

rom - I'm def fine as is DS - DH felt him kicking last night so he's v happy. (just remebering now to wear my seat belt - I'll never not wear it again) just the other driver's car wasn't even road worthy. think u should be stopping work at xmas young lady - what are the hospital saying?

jack - fab news on the kicking front - DS like's my ribs as well - u're not having a boy r u? lol.

RP - ooh yes I stopped online bingo for that reason! lol, I think 30 weeks is hte milestone for me tbh it was 24 weeks now it's 30. DH has decided DS is to be born at 34 weeks oh really - I was like i'll pencil that into my diary! lol.

marne - u get those feet up! and rest. good news baby's ok thou. Intresting point on the small bump front - i didn't think of that tbh.

zeph - good u have a date now, shame u couldn't see the sex thou. So far i've put on 10lb it seems 4 in the first trimester and 6 in the second - althou this here bump of mine as appeared to be huge since the weekend! lol - DS is def growing/moving/I have more water! (hoping it's the later)

pop - at least u can see baby again. did u set a date in the end for ur section?

dhw - ooh yay we can do the name thing - I did see ur jack thread, DH loves jack and wants that but tbh I don't his mum is jackie (jack) and dad is paul (our chosen middle name) so I thought was a bit much - so we've settled on Jake. I did see a lot of mention to that thou on ur thread. did u decided on anything yet?

Laundry lover - hiya and welcome. I will get around to doing the stats - one day! lol. will take a month of sundays! lol, (a job when DH is on nights!)

ooh also got to get us a new car - ours is cream crackered so lookin at a zafira tonight v reg 01 plate 65K on the clock, he's asking £6500 for it - not sure to go for it. we shall see. any one have zafira's at all? they recon ours will be about £1000 to put right and it's worth is about £1500. p/x

laundrylover · 24/11/2005 14:18

So much to catch up on but glad that there are a few of us waddling around looking like we just ate all the pies! I kick started an SPD thread about labour hints - water water water it seems so better get a pool booked.
By the way my name refers to my love of nappy washing and pegging things on the line (that was my first contribution to MN!) - I don't do any ironing AT ALL!! However I just washed a new maternity top from H & M and it dried all creased - may have to find the iron and do the old towel on the unit top routine!

munz · 24/11/2005 14:24

ah no see whta u do, is stick it on a hanger, jump in the shower and the steam makes the creases drop out! did it all the time when working at butlins!

poppyh · 24/11/2005 14:29

Munz,glad u ok.
Got a date, 27th feb.3 days after Lolas 3rd Bday. But anything could hapen, so not telling family that date yet.

laundrylover · 24/11/2005 14:32

It's there now but two baths later and no better - I've made a bad buy!! It will be living in the bathroom for weeks till I find the iron. Our telly has broken and has gone to the menders so after doing a live version of Storymakers for Tilly I may just wallow in the bath for hours and create a sauna.

laundrylover · 24/11/2005 14:34

Just realised what all the talk of dates and sex was!! I'd forgotton about your CS Poppy and thought you were on the market!!
Tilly was born on the 28th Feb so was very nearly a leap year baby.

catj · 25/11/2005 18:13

Where is everyone today? Have you all snuck off to a new thread and not told me?

Jackstini · 25/11/2005 18:35

Hi Catj - I am here - just finishing work and sooo ready for lie down. How are you?
Munz - glad you are ok after the car situation. Not sure if I am having a boy or not - still a surprise!
Friz - did your delivery arrive and how did the Christmas shopping go?
Laundry - lol re your poor top. 'towel on the worktop' ironing always reminds me of rushing round trying to find something to wear to go out in (in the days I used to go out...!)

Frizbe · 25/11/2005 20:15

Hiya all!

Jackstini, delivery eventually arrived! and got upto Meadow hall for 3pm! got a fair bit of shopping done as well, it was rather dead for the time of year How's things with you?

Munz, Grrr at A&E Doc, however glad you got seen and sorted properly eventually. How did the car shopping go? I'd try and barter them down a bit for 65k on the clock!

Rom, hope your feeling ok and staying out of hosp?

Poppy H your booked in on my due date! at least one of us is guranteed a baby on that day

Hope everyone else is well x

poppyh · 25/11/2005 22:40

friz, glad u got youre shopping done in the end!Yes booked in for my section, but right now am so disallusioned with my local hospital, not sure whether to believe this date or not.
Saw MW today, after waiting over an hour. They were running as late as ever!!Grrr!!
Guess I'll wait and see what happens at my next hospital appointment!!
Hope everyone else good today.Take care.

munz · 26/11/2005 09:11

sorry guys was sent home yesterday cos of the snow.

friz - didn't get it in the end, he wasn't gonna do a good deal and basically i'm a snob and the dash/controls etc looked like they were about 10 years old not 4 (unlike our current car) off out again today to look at some others.

Frizbe · 26/11/2005 10:17

Oh Poppy, grrr at hospital making you wait....hope the service gets better......although I'll bet there in the same situation as a lot of hospitals, the way there set up is they can't recruit to cover maternity leave, not even temp, according to a mate of mine whose a sister! and then you get everyone off sick at this time of year, by which time even if they can get any agency in they're well behind anyway......the joys of the NHS eh!

Munz, good on you! enjoy your car shopping today, dh has seen a 7 seater Merc that he really likes, so who knows what we'll end up with (like we can afford the Merc!) hope your having fun with the snow, nothing here

munz · 26/11/2005 10:21

I bloody hate it friz! lol, don't wanna go but our car needs too much work. (well i'm not prepared to pay the amount needed) DH is still after a verso but they're way too much! snow's all gone from here now as well was after monday off work as well!
