Rom, I put 4 stone on last time, so am not so bothered, but do wonder how it has crept up on me when I have been exercising so much!
Some women balloon in weight, some don't...I am trying not to worry and it does make it easier to know I'm not alone!

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 14:17

lizzylou - I timed potty training with better weather and bare bum ruled! A few wees down the legs did the trick. I tell you it's great having her in knickers all day and am in no rush with the night nappies as will be back to full time buckets come March!
Am sitting here scoffing a huge chunk of Dairy Milk and guiltily reading about weight gain! I'm fat anyway so don't weigh myself - after this baby though I must get back to a better size. I'm having back/pelvis probs this time so am fairly immobile - must be piling on the pounds but have to get this baby to 6.5 lbs for a homebirth as Tilly was only 5lb 8oz!

munz · 22/11/2005 14:27

hi girls, just got home from hosp, def having a boy, had a car crash this morning baby OK. just resting at home this avo.

will catch up tomorrow- hope u're all ok.

Lizzylou · 22/11/2005 14:28

MUnz, so glad all is well, you rest up xxx

Frizbe · 22/11/2005 14:41

YIKES MUNZ glad your both ok tho, phew, how's the car? do you need a new one?

Hi to laundry lover! congrats on your dry dd tell me did you have any probs getting her to poo in the potty?? as mine is currently off the idea.....

Newgirl, soz about your boss, do I take it she doesn't have kids of her own? often harder to understand how others are feeling when you've not been thru it yourself....

DHW ah, it was you who converted me to the choc chip brioche! yummy!!

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 14:42

munz hope the crash wasn't too bad. Get some rest and start planning those boys names!

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 14:47

Tilly was pretty good with poos but saying that she pooed twice down her pyjama leg last week for some reason! Yuk! My friends little girl is a year older and has only just agreed to poo without a nappy on although wees were fine ages ago! Think some kids are funny about poo - you could try making a big adventure to the loo and using a seat then saying 'bye bye' with an exciting flush! Preferable to sticky potties and might just do the trick...

Frizbe · 22/11/2005 14:47

Oh girls its TP Tuesday!
we're 26 weeks here, 9 sheets and holding!

Frizbe · 22/11/2005 14:48

thanks ll, might give that a go, we need to get another toilet seat, as last one, wobbles too much!

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 14:57

Ok not going to trawl this thread to find out what on earth you are talking about frizbe!!

desperatehousewife · 22/11/2005 15:46

oh Munz - hope you are ok. What a shocker. You poor thing - you must have been really shaken up. So so glad you are ok. A boy! How exciting!! We can talk names together! We are really struggling with names at the moment.

take it easy love
xx

26 weeks here too Friz - waiting to get to 28 weeks, for some reason that seems like a landmark date.

Munz, take it easy, hope you're not too shaken up.

My dd was 2 last week and is half in nappies, half in knickers during the day - she will often go and have a wee on the loo, but no poos yet. After experience with ds, I've realised that they will just do it when they are ready. You're very lucky if they do it at 18months . I wasted well over a year stressing over ds, who was 3 and 3 quarters before he was reliable during the day. Still in nappies at night now, at almost age 5. I think girls are often ready sooner than boys.

Laundrylover - pelvic probs here too, same as last time. Just kicking in badly this week, so am virtually housebound apart from the school run which is a real struggle. Hey ho, should be okay once the baby's out, and in the meantime I'm getting addicted to online bingo

RosiePosie · 22/11/2005 15:49

Agree about loo seat - we don't do potties in this house - far too yuck! I got one of those proper seats with the inbuilt fold away child seat from blooming marvellous - cost about £30 but it's got to see me through two kids - it's been really worth it.

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 16:20

RP - tried to get a thread about SPD restarted but no takers. Feeling really sore today so MNing instead of housework as not motivated to do any proper work at all (the joys of home working!). Think I have Posterior Pelvic Pain and like you am getting housebound. My mum had to come to the supermarket with me yesterday as can't push trolley. All new to me as fine last time! Hope I'm not reduced to crawling come Xmas!!!

poppyh · 22/11/2005 16:29

Munz, hope u r ok love.
Just back from hospital.Been booked in for a c section for end of Feb.They tried to book me in on 24th feb, but that will be Lolas 3rd bday.So got out of that!!(Have promised to take her on London Eye, all being well.)
Told me baby was small for dates, without even measuring me, so am now having a growth scan in 2 weeks. It pees me off as Im small woman and 2 previous children were ok, but at least I'll get to see baby again.
Talking of potty training, lola, 3 in Feb still in nappies.Just NOT interested at all in potty.I guess she will be one of these days!!
Hope all is well with you all.

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 16:29

I just looked at that loo seat at Blooming Marvellous RP at it looks just the biz. We need a new seat as ours in minging and was going to get a normal one but think will get that one. Like you say will be used for years and if I keep the minging one I can swap them if we move!

Lizzylou · 22/11/2005 16:31

PoppyH, my friend was told her baby was going to be v v small full term (not even 4lb they said ), she had her 3 weeks early and she weighed 6lb 4oz!
You sound very sensible though and at least you get another scan!

poppyh · 22/11/2005 16:35

Thanks lizzylou. They told me the same with first born and although he was small, they had said he would weigh approx 3lb(He weighed over 5lb)and i wasted a lot of money on prem baby clothes.Lola weighed 7 lb so am hoping this one will do too.
You get so many differing opinions it starts to get annoying.Only 3 weeks ago baby was measured normal size!!

Lizzylou · 22/11/2005 16:41

What do they know really? How can they tell without examining/scanning you?
You will have loads of growth spurts and we're only 25/26 weeks now anyway! Bloomin "experts"!!!

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 16:45

I was the opposite and no-one said that Tilly was going to be such a scrap! I was a bit alarmed when she popped out it has to be said. I had a strange placenta with a ring of gristle round it which must have stopped all that chocolate getting through! I am dubious about these ways of measuring but hope that they let me have my homebirth...

RosiePosie · 22/11/2005 17:15

growth scans are notoriously inaccurate. I get one at 35 weeks just routinely as i'm planning a homebirth, but it will be nice to see bubs again. LL, if they give you any grief about the HB, think about contacting AIMS. They campaign for women's maternity rights. There's a phone number on the website and the women manning it are really supportive and motivated. They'll be able to tell you exactly what your rights are and how to go about getting what you want. MW's can't tell you're not allowed a homebirth ( well, they can tell you that, but they shouldnt'! ) - even if they think your baby is going to be small, they might get jittery, but if you want to birth at home, they can't stop you and are legally obliged to support you. 6 5lbs isn't THAT small anyway. The cut off point they "allow" here is 6lbs, and tbh if I thought the baby was going to be smaller than that I might consider going into hospital - but again, those growth scans are often inaccurate anyway. You have to do what you feel comfortable with. Sorry - waffle!!

I had SPD from about 30 weeks last time getting progressively worse. Was barely able to walk by the end. Atleast this time I know what to expect, and am taking it as easy as possible. I'm doing my shopping online, bare minimum of housework - hubby is doing the hoovering. I have a good information leaflet with great advice - I can email it to you if you like, let me know.

laundrylover · 22/11/2005 17:34

Thanks RP. I found some good info on the web and also am seeing a physio on Dec 1st. You could email the leaflet - does that involve CAT???
I am not too worried about this growth thing really. Like you if it's going to be wee I think that hospital is fine, though Tilly would have been fine at home - she was just on the cusp of 'small baby' weight wise at 2.5 kilos (5lb 8). I think that this baby is bigger but it will be last few weeks that will tell whether my placenta carries on working well. Still have a pathetic bump, complete with indented waist same as last time though! Oh to look hugely pregnant to match my shuffle and waddle

Zephyrcat · 22/11/2005 18:09

Hi all

So glad to see you and little man are ok Munz

I'm with you all on the weight thing - I put on 4 stone when I was pg the first time and never really lost it. It made me pretty miserable which made it harder to get motivated to lose it - plus the fact that I knew I would have another so I didn't want to do all that hard work and blow up again!! I lost about a stone and a half and put it back on with ds but this time I feel like I'm putting on more so trying to be careful!! At least after this one I can spend a couple of years getting back to 'normal' knowing that I never have to do this again!!
The SPD is being a bit vicious here and is agony. I'm waddling about all over the place with no real significant bump so looking a bit silly!! I've just been told that the physio dept here is 'dodgy' and sometimes there isn't one so it could take weeks to get a referral...great. I'm going to put a thread up to see if anyone has got an old belt lying around before I end up not able to walk at all.
That was at my appt with the consultant this afternoon. When I got there they said I was meant to have been there earlier for a scan but no one told me!! Got one anyway and they re-measured and came up with 19 weeks which I suppose must be about right. They couldn't see the sex which was disappointing so might find out about a private sexing scan - I'm dying to know!! Also puts my dates back a bit though, plus the fact that they do the cs at 39 weeks so it's looking like def mid April now He tried to convince me about having a 'normal' birth but I stuck to a third cs so he told me that if I want I can be sterilised at the same time so will have to talk to dp. Apparently I have to decide at 37 weeks and then there's no going back so he said if anything went wrong with this baby while it was being delivered I couldn't suddenly decide mid cs not to be sterilised so a big decision to be made!

Sorry that was a bit of a marathon post! Well done if you're still awake

poppyh · 22/11/2005 18:10

Laundrylover. my bump is pathetic!!People look twice to see if im pregnant, especially in thick woollen jumpers!TBH, this is my third, and I really have to go on instinct. This baby seems ok size to me, and Im waddling already as I have sciatica, so god knows howmuch worse it would be to be carrying a really big baby.

RosiePosie · 22/11/2005 18:47

Laundrylover - I think you need to CAT me and then I can email you back

ZC, I have a spare belt I can lend you - I can easily get one from the MW here - they've already offered me it, so you're welcome to borrow mine. It's this one:

www.physiomedhomecare.co.uk/catalogue_detail.asp?cat=CaringForYourBack&name=Caring+for+your+back&offset=15

Sorry, too lazy to work out how to do links, you'll have to copy and paste. It's the fourth pic down, it's size medium or large - large I think. CAT me if you are interested
