ooh no DHW - once knew a howard everyone called him howie - not nice!

what's these choccy things then?

(I do like ruby as well)

desperatehousewife · 17/11/2005 13:48

i wouldn't really consider howard don't worry!

brioche rolls are soft buttery sweet rolls (french) with little choc chips in them. Amazingly moreish. Sadly!

Munz - we are scarily alike on boy's names. DH likes Jack best - but that's my name! I like Jake/Jacob but we both like Joshua so that's no. 1 for now. If it's a girl either Scarlett, Charlize or Leila we think.
Spent the weekend laying laminate floor in the nursery so when I walked past Mamas & Papas today HAD to look at the furniture. Ouch prices!

munz · 17/11/2005 15:38

ooh jack! lol - it's scarey! lol.

DHW - so def worth a spot on the tesco.com list then?lol. sweet buttery rolls - hmmm could u eat them warm? (I like warm crossiants with butter - hmmmmm - ooh mouth watering! lol)

Frizbe · 17/11/2005 20:38

Hi Girls, some good names coming out! although Jackstini you can have Scarlett! I'm not so keen, but dh has been campaigning for us to use that one, I'm on a firm NO however!
Hope your all well, apparently I have grown again, according to my last bunch of maternity mates (we took the kids to toy library today) have an achy lower bump too, so they may be right, ho hummmmm

newgirl · 17/11/2005 22:24

I liked jason! so between us no squabbling! Group wanking competition put me off them all a bit last night.

Gary looks like the wise money choice - family man, big house, sensible chap.

munz - go for jake no worries. As soon as you know the little person you don't think about others with the name. Other than that very gorgeous one on eastenders

Irving and Lilah are good choices - where did you find those Spiker? Is marathon training good or bad for placentas? I could cut down to 13 miles a day if required.

RosiePosie · 18/11/2005 09:16

Has anyone else got bump ache? It's a pulled muscle kind of pain. Never had it before, so no idea why it should happen this time around - I would have thought everything had been stretched before.

I'm off out today for a Pizza Hut buffet

munz · 18/11/2005 09:35

RP - pizza hut indeed! lol. no real bump ache but bump feeling v heavy and full, (think baby's moving)

DH has felt jake kicking over the past two nights - bless him - it's really made his birthday! (he's had such a huge grin!)

Jake's still sticking - I did like it cos of eastenders yes! - how sad! lol.

munz · 18/11/2005 09:41

jack - I hear u on the prices of M&P - althou check out their wweb site - big xmas sale right now. hopefully once the xmas club pays out i'll be able to get our pram, but gotta wait for 2 weeks. I like Lilah as well - Kyra was a contender for our girl but we did settle on pheobe for a girl this time. (kyra next time! lol)

have finally secumbed as well - in maternity clothes now pretty much full time (still least it's comfy - but do draw the line at belly bra's! ) lol.

DB heard the heart last night - was v excited.

desperatehousewife · 18/11/2005 11:11

Rosie i had serious muscle pulled feelings first time round - in my pelvis if I remember rightly - was terrified something was wrong, as it really hurt. But was all perfectly normal - just pelvis stretching itself to get ready to push a bloody baby through it - i woulnd't worry.

brioche choc chip rolls are a must girls. I cannot emphasise this enough!!
Also Green & Blacks Hot Chocolate to get you through these cold days.

Can't believe it - someone said it's due to be the coldest winter since 1963 or something ridiculous. I really feel the cold when I'm preg too! Uh-oh!

Off to pick up DS from pre-school and to sit in freezing cold playgrond for an hour and a half and to drink G&B Hot Choc!

OP posts:
catj · 18/11/2005 13:45

Mmmm. Brioche and hot chocolate! Waitrose also do a fab dark chocolate drink. I find the ordinary ones aren't chocolately enough & end up with 1/2 a mug of powder before I add the water!

munz · 18/11/2005 13:48

dhw/rp! - lol, u do this when i'm sat at work! lol - I could now just sup on a nice hot chocolate wiht that throffy whipped cream and choccy sprinkles lol - ohhh and a nice cream cake at u lot all doing it! lol - right then off to change tesco.com! def in need of that for these cold wintery nights! lol.

u feel the cold to? - I swear my hands are like ice blocks right now - and the factory girls keep turnin the heating off

munz · 18/11/2005 13:50

a nie cream slice I think - what do u recon DH - the baby 'needs' me to have a cream slice! lol.

did u see the article in the NCT mag actually - mothers who eat choc regulally during PG are more likely to have a happier smiling baby - or somehting? - now my question is - how regular is regular? - i'm thinking 3/4 bars a day! lol.

RosiePosie · 18/11/2005 13:58

Being able to eat what you like is the ONLY good thing about pregnancy, in my opinion! I'm just back from Pizza Hut and can't move. It's impossible not to overeat at a Pizza Hut buffet! I said I would only have one helping, but ooooh, it's so moreish and the smell is so enticing. I did have a lot of salad too, but covered in creamy dressing and bacon bits , and about 4 slices of pizza I think.

munz · 18/11/2005 14:04

stamps feet! god I could munch on a stuffed crust cheesy pizza - think I feel a trip to town coming on! lol.

it is isn't it, did u have the cheese sticks? - I have such a thing for cheese/onion sarnies and mars bars lol.

catj · 18/11/2005 14:28

I've been feeling the cold too and usually it doesn't bother me. I don't know if its because I was a bit over weight to start with & as the baby grows the fat's disappearing!! After I had the dt's I ended up 3 stone lighter than when I fell pregnant with them! Mind 2 stone of that went instantly when I gave birth

munz · 18/11/2005 14:30

bloody hell Cat 2 stone that's a quick weight loss - actually girls - just wondering for after (those who r second/third timers) how quickly/easiy have u lost the weight if at all? I was planning on it taking about 9 months ish is there anything in particular u need to do/can u do weight watchers if BF?

desperatehousewife · 18/11/2005 14:43

sadly i really struggled to lose the weight and never actually lost all of it cos I always had in the back of my mind that i'd be preg again one day and it wasn't worth it! Now this is deffo my last child I am going to try and be very very disciplined about losing the weight properly (slowly and evenly). Will probably go back on GI diet - found this to be the best thing for me.

I have only put on 9lbs so far this time round which I'm sure is very little compared to last time round (although then I did eat every thing in sight!). So hoping won't put on too much throughout. THink it was because I couldn't eat for the first 3 months.

OP posts:
munz · 18/11/2005 14:49

lol - not worth loosing the weight! althou that's v true I must say. I was hoping to loose more than i've put on (good luck! lol) was plannin on weight watchers/swimming as I was on it b4 getting PG.

I did think not to do anything thou till the 6 week check - does that sound right to u?

munz · 18/11/2005 14:52

don't they say 12lb or is it 24lb u should put on? (I hate to think what i've put on! lol)

it's those cream cakes I tell u!

catj · 18/11/2005 14:53

TBH I didn't bother and I did put back on all the weight I lost. In my defence I was ill with an infection and a virus for two weeks post birth and when I finally felt like eating I was so relieved I think I just overdid it a bit. I have to say though I am determined to lose it this time round or my poor ponies will be calling in the RSPCA!!

Jackstini · 18/11/2005 16:10

I lost quite a bit of weight in the first few weeks I was pregnant but am now back up to just 1lb under where I started. I read average gain is 20-28lbs so am not going to worry anything up to that.
Really making me want cream cakes reading this - am already eating plenty of choc!
Have got the muscle bump ache too, Thought it might be too much driving/sitting at laptop. Have told work I am not going to the California meeting in 2 weeks. It is not so much the thought of flying that puts me off but the sitting in 1 position for 11 hours!
V jealous at all those feeling kicks - my DH cannot feel a think and I still only have 'bubbles' Can't beleive I am impatient for baby to kick the out of me! lol

RosiePosie · 18/11/2005 17:14

I've put on and kept on about a stone with each baby - I was a 12 to 14 before babies, now two babies later I am a 16 to 18. Like you dhw, this is my last baby, and I am determined to get trim again over the next couple of years ( I'm being realistic, lol!). It's a myth that breastfeeding helps with the weight loss - I'm sure it does for some women, but I only lose weight after I have stopped bf. I bf dd for 18 months, stayed the same as I was immediately after the birth for the whole of that time ( very depressing! ) and then when I stopped, I lost over a stone in a month, without dieting or anything. And then I got pregnant again!!

desperatehousewife · 18/11/2005 17:35

Jacks - I'm only feeling little bubble flutters too - which I find really surprising considering i'm 24 weeks and it's my second baby. Definately no kicks or DH being able to feel anything. I remember first time round being able to watch my tummy moving up and down with the movements!

I put on 3 and a bit stone when preg with DS - and he was only 7lbs 6oz! I spent 3 weeks in Italy though during beginning of pregnancy and ate a LOT of pizza/pasta!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 18/11/2005 18:20

Ummm all this talk of pizza is making me hungry and I've only just eaten!

DHW and Munz, no internal heating kicked in? have to say I'm pretty hot at the mo girls....(well no one else is going to say so right )

Catj and DHW, I reckon swiss miss is the best hot chocolate, although its really hard to get in GB, not sure if selfridges have started to do it??

Munz, you can do ww when bf'ing, I think its another 12 points you get, so basically its eating normally! if its any help I didn't bother doing it and kept the weight on until I stopped bf, then within a month I lost a stone, then I did ww for another few months and exercised! which did the trick for the rest. However this time I plan to be back exercising sooner, so it'll be interesting to see how much milk I leak whilst doing it!
