millie you poor thing. It's rubbish feeling sick and at the same time trying to keep a home running.
A cleaner will definitely come and out and do a clean for you. I used to have one in my old house share before I got married and we used to pay £22 or so for 2 hours. Not sure if that is cheap or expensive? Whereabouts are you? I hope you feel better soon.

nomoresnow I feel bad about moaning about the snow now as our water is on at home but DH has none at his work so no heating or toilets or anything. I hope it comes back on soon for you. I can't believe we are forecast for more next week :(

milliemuffin · 09/12/2010 17:58

Exactly as predicted DP just had a moan as the house is a mess. And he 'knows' that he could've got the house tidied even with looking after both DC which by the way he's never done for more than 3hours on an evening so all he's done is put them to bed. Nothing I can say will make him understand so I won't bother.

millie one advantage of being on my own in the week ( and no children yet!!) is the house can be a tip all week and then have a tidy/clean on fridays. if i cant be bothered to wash up all week .... i jus dont :)

moomin156 · 09/12/2010 18:18

well done on scans and yes the nuchal result is very good.......its better than mine anyhow LOL

jbells · 09/12/2010 18:34

millie- i just dont think they understand how tiring it is looking afta kids and being pg i was also thinking of a cleaner if we cud afford it.

WEll i have had a shit day... i have either lost my passport and my mums chester race course ticket or posted them to malta :(

i am completly losing the plot, i seem to lose my marbles whilst pg

VERY VERY angry with myself Angry

jbells · 09/12/2010 18:39

oh also wanted to ask if anyone had been to mexico or anywhere like this with a toddler thinking of going in feb but not sure whether its a good idea with bein pg and toddler in tow

Mummynumber2 · 09/12/2010 18:39

Jasmine wow! That's great news!

Millie as someone else has already said, it would be great if they could be pregnant for just one day to see what it's like. If your dh reckons he could do it you should put him to the test at the weekend!

I'm sat in my car killing time at the mo. Had to pick dsd up from singing rehearsals at 5.30 and get her to the school for 6.15, which we just about did. Then her concert starts at 7, not time to get home and back so waiting in the car. I wonder how we're going to fit a baby into all this! Really starting to think about the practicalities of having a teenager and a baby now!

Lucky you Jasmine. I have my gender scan booked for next Tuesday 14th - can't wait but already feel like i know.

With my DS i 'knew' he was a boy and bought all blue stuff from 12 weeks ish. 15 years ago they didn't tell you the gender but i had such strong feelings.

I feel the same with this one. I'm sure its a boy :)

Still not had my nuchal results but i assume they must be ok as it was nearly 3 weeks ago. 16 weeks on Saturday for me.

Hearing all the positive scan news has really made me smile tonight. So pleased for everyone.

TabithaTwitchet · 09/12/2010 19:18

Jasmine congratulations on having a son! That's so exciting. I can't wait to find out the sex myself now.

Cameli that's interesting you knew. I was convinced DD was a girl, just asked for confirmation at the 20wk scan, and now I think this one is a boy!

In some ways I wish I had the self control to wait to find out until the actual birth, but there is no way, I am just too impatient. Plus I want to tell DD whether she is getting a brother or a sister, to help prepare her. Everyone I know pregnant this year seems to be having boys. I wonder if this group will be 50/50 or if there will be a gender bias...

milliemuffin · 09/12/2010 19:54

Sorry to be the one to spoil it but I was convinced DD was a boy to the point of saying 'he's coming'! It took a long time to sink in that she was (is!) actually a girl :). Now there's no doubting it, proper little madam already! Her brother was the 'perfect baby' for 2 years, hardly cried, rarely ill, slept well, she couldn't be more different! Apart from the rarely ill bit, so far I've been lucky with both my DC. She's just very loud!! But has a very infectious giggle which makes up for her loudness :)

jbells funny about the baby cats hehe, btw I live in Chester, guessing you must live local with getting race tickets? :)

jbells · 09/12/2010 21:23

live in wallasey,so not far my best friend lives in chester :)

knackered76 · 09/12/2010 21:26

Jasmine how exciting and how handy to be able to halve the name choices :)

We're not going to find out. Didn't the last 2 times and seeing as the children didn't express a strong opinion about which flavour they want we're going to wait. Was convinced dd was a ds to the point I called her him for the first fews days Blush. Decided ds was a boy but only because everyone else at the time was having girls!

Barbie - how can you not have the brains for psychology and yet you're doing a law degree! I know which one I would fail miserably at Grin. I love it and had always wished I had done it at university instead of my theatre and teaching degree so took the chance while on a 'career break' Hmm to try it out. So far loving it hugely, especially the bits that are total twaddle as they tend to make me laugh (Freud's theory of penis envy is really very amusing!)Grin Luckily there is a whole lot that is very interesting and makes a lot of sense . . . people are strange, and how we tick even stranger! What I will do with it I don't know. I would love to do a doctorate but I think that's probably because I'm a secret geek and love studying, not sure the finances will stretch to indulging me that much :)

Millie my DH got us a cleaner, think he finally got fed up with it! We've paid between £7 (fantastically good rate I think) and £12 per hour. I think the average is about £10. I have found it totally worth it and it's has just meant we cut back on a couple of other things that we were just indulging ourselves anyway! I will warn you though, once you have one you won't want to let them go . . . look at me, I'm having another child just so when ds goes to school in September I won't have to clean Grin Oh and men are rubbish, lots of them anyway. They have no idea what it takes to look after children and try to get things done. The only reason he would have had the house clean is by ignoring the children to do it!

Cameli I would take it as all is fine with your results if you haven't heard back yet :) In theory if I don't hear tomorrow mine are fine, but then theories don't always go that well in practise :)

Leory so sorry to hear about your sister's miscarriage. How sad that she hadn't told her partner. We have been very luckily with conceiving and have not had to suffer the pain and stress it brings to a partnership but I have seen it nearly destroy relationships. I hope she gets the support and answers she needs.

Jbells never been myself but would say check the temp. I have friends who took their toddler to spain in summer once and said it was a nightmare as everywhere was too hot and the ground was too hot for their ds to walk around on. Sounds lovely though having a nice holiday :)

DaisyFields - which courses have you done so far? I've only done the introduction and am starting child dev in feb. I had to interrupt last time as it was chaos trying to do 2 with the children! I'm doing the autism course because it really interests me and am hoping to do science of the mind at some point.

Have a nice evening ladies :)

moomin156 · 09/12/2010 21:35

Mummynumber2 · 09/12/2010 21:48

Does anyone know what it means if your Haematocrit levels are low? At last consultant appt I noticed that someone had put my blood results in my notes, everything else is within normal range (haemoglobin/ red blood count etc.) There was no mention of it so don't know if it's not important or wasn't looked at.

Neenewps I'm also convinced I've felt it move but haven't told anyone as I'm sure they won't believe me!

moomin156 · 09/12/2010 21:49

X posted with knackered LOL

Mummynumber2 · 09/12/2010 21:50

Hello Expecting! Welcome to the group.

moomin156 · 09/12/2010 21:52

mummy its to do with the number of red blood cells that you have......haemoglobin is the part of the blood that carries oxygen.
Very difficult to explain easily. As long as its not too low i wouldnt worry......

NurseSnowflake · 09/12/2010 21:53

Haematocrit measures the percentage of red blood cells in your blood. If it's low you might be slightly anaemic, though it haemoglobin levels are fine then not sure. Er... best ask MW I guess. If no-one's mentioned it to you though I wouldn't worry too much

Mummynumber2 · 09/12/2010 21:55

Thanks Moomin, no it's not v low at all, just under normal range I think. Hope you enjoy your time off. Xmas Smile

expectingbabyno2 · 09/12/2010 21:56

Awh thanks ladies! Excess chatting is right up my street! knackered yay I have a due date buddy! How are you feeling? Like Mummynumber2 I swear I have felt something.. but won't even tell hubby because I didn't think it was possible to feel anything this early on? I am soo tired all the time, I feel unbelievably pathetic Blush
