No more pants of red

Looked down where we lay,
A bunch of old, evil hags,
Fucked on Gas and A.

Ho, ho, ho you bunch of Hoes. Xmas Grin

Aw Twinks - really pleased your scan went well. Is a big relief. And sounds very "thorough". I can't imagine it will be like that at my hospital, they don't even offer nuchals on NHS but could be wrong.

Am very [jealous] of Poo and LC's angelic ways! Hopefully I am owed a sleeping through the night type since I can count on one hand the number of times MiniG has slept through in 2 and a half years.

Shopping trip sounds lovely, MrsFC. I love John Lewis. I don't think I can justify buying very much this time round sadly...although am itching to!

Happy due date to me! :-)

PollyPoo · 11/12/2010 10:25

Happy due date Mas! Are you ready to 'glide' that baby out?!

Medee · 11/12/2010 10:26

good news, Twinks and Happy Due Date Mas!

rocketleaf · 11/12/2010 10:26

wooo mas i take it there's not much doing?

twinks so please scan and all other tests went well, really sounds like you had the works! I have the triple on Monday and then my first proper midwife appointment on Thursday so is all starting to seem a bit real (still can attribute slight swelling in stomach to all this fruit I've been eating)

Personally I think its lovely to hear about 'easy' babies, keep em coming. Eases the 'fear' a bit even tho I am obviously keeping a completely open mind about what's to come.

I love JLP too but am staying away for now as I know we will get sucked in. Although I do like to go and get all the advice and then get everything off the internet :o Re cots, 2nd timers, lady I know you have said that drop down side was really handy, does everyone else agree? Have realised the ikea cot I fancy doesn't do this and am wondering if that should rule it out. (so glad I have bloody ages to decide on all this, dither dither)

TwinkleToes76 · 11/12/2010 10:50

Happy due date Mas!

I found a drop down cot really helpful. Like Poo I did my back in post childbirth and not having to bend all the way over to put a baby in a cot really helped in the first 6 months or so. Didn't use it much after that though.

All this talk of sleeping arrangements has brought back some not so nice memories of what it was like in the early days and now I'm wondering if I can go through that again! I think I must have blocked it all out! I have a memory of lying in bed in the middle of the night when daughter was a couple of months old having spent hours getting her off to sleep (colicy baby = no fun) and her then refusing to settle. We had tied some string to the rocking stand of the mosses basket so we could rock it without sticking arms out of the bed and had the hairdrier on as it seemed to soothe her!!! She sleeps like an angel now but bloody hell we must have been desperate! Not this time though, I am certain we're next in line for a good sleeper...

Muser · 11/12/2010 11:03

Excellent news on the scan Twinks. I had the cervix measuring thing but at my 20 week. It does sound like they did everything and then some! Are you at a teaching hospital by any chance? I think they like their studies.

CluckyKate · 11/12/2010 11:30

Oooh Mas - how exciting!!! Are you feeling any different??? Twinges??? Get tweaking those nipples Xmas Smile

Sounds like Boo & LC were cut from the same cloth Poo - she has been a pretty straightforward little girl and still is.....potty trained at 2 (her doing, not ours - we didn't even have a potty), loves her bed and weekend lie-ins, eats well etc. We have had our challenges e.g. biting, but they've passed without too much trauma. She does like getting dizzy though and spends much time spinning around, giggling and falling over. Does not bode well for the teenage years Confused

Great scan news Twinkerbelle and very thorough - makes you feel v. safe no?

Scorpette · 11/12/2010 11:58

Excellent scan news, Twinks, but are you sure they weren't actually testing you to see if you'd be suitable for the NASA Space Program? Xmas Wink

(It physically pained me to write 'program')

Cluckers, I know Cheggers has the first ESH-twinz, I mean that I want Pol and *Mas to have the first non-related twinz Xmas Grin

Talking of which, Happy Due Date, WeeSmell! Getting v excited for you now Xmas Smile

It's my 4-yr anniv with TYF today, hurrah for us. We're meant to be doing the last of the Xmas shopping, having a nice meal and going to the cinema but my headache is extra bad today and even typing this lot has taken me about 30 mins, ffs. Excuse me whilst I go and play this tiny violin for myself...

maswera · 11/12/2010 15:05

Aw, I didn't realise I was due on your anniversary scorps. Will try extra-hard to push it out today.... Nowt going on but am feeling extra sprightly today - have been into town to finish our Christmas shopping, then for a walk round the area we are trying to buy a house in, & off to 2 Christmas parties tonight! Will no doubt be super-knackered after all that & will end up in a no-sleep 36 hour labour just to serve me right......

LadyGoneGaga · 11/12/2010 15:14

I went into labour on my due date, Mas - hopefully soon!!!

Ooh, mas I Reckon that a night of partying and a glass of wine or two could do the trick!

Currently trying to find a non twee snow suit, anyone got a good website they could share?

Medee · 11/12/2010 18:05

I thought this was cute, but not sure if it fits your bill www.nctshop.co.uk/Koo-di-Snugsuit/productinfo/1510/

Muser · 11/12/2010 18:08

Nordic Kids might have some?

Muser · 11/12/2010 18:10

I want that Medee, I have been wanting to order it for ages as it is so cute. Not sure Bob would actually need it by the time he/she arrives though.

MsFC · 11/12/2010 18:12

Awwwww! That one is exactly right! I'm going to order it, thank you!!

Muser · 11/12/2010 18:16

It's out of stock on NCT in the smaller sizes, but you can get 0-6 months on Amazon or a bunch of other places if you google. I have been looking A Lot.

MsFC · 11/12/2010 18:19

Wise words from you as always muse, you always know where to find thing.

MsFC · 11/12/2010 18:31

Goddit. Brilliant.

In other dull news, the FC and I are going out with some friends for an Indian tonight, I met them through NCT eight years ago. They are good friends, and it will be nice to see them, but the table isn't booked till NINE. I mean, WTF?? I'm normally in bed by ten! AIBU to be in a nark? I could cancel, but I reckon this is probably one of the last times we'll go out together, so we are going. I need to find my good grace though!

Muser · 11/12/2010 19:09

9pm? I'd never make it. Never. I used to consider that a reasonable time, but now we're one of those couples sitting down at 7pm when the restaurant is empty.

rocketleaf · 11/12/2010 19:26

Eat something now to tide you over Mrs. That would sound late to me even before I was pregnant! I have reached the point of ignoring conventional meal times and just eating when I am hungry, sod everyone else. :o You can always just have a starter if you are still fullish later (and pinch a bit of the FCs curry)

AlpinePony · 11/12/2010 19:34

Sitting down at 7? Shock Luxury! We're one of those couples who are back home by 7! Grin

Beware queue jumpers.

MsFC · 12/12/2010 01:12

Just back... We didn't get to eat till TEN!! Luckily I'd had a sandwich before I left home... It was a nice curry though, but not as much fun without alcohol...

Not hot enough to make jump any queues though!!

Medee · 12/12/2010 10:29

glad the snowsuit worked for you MsFC! I have it mentally bookmarked myself for next winter.

I too would find 9 too late, but I would still have gone I reckon - too few opportunities left!

Muser · 12/12/2010 10:33

I was in bed by 10.30, I am impressed.

I think I might have been nesting. Yesterday I cleared cupboards in a frenzy. Ancient packets of stale herbs, long forgotten jams and chutneys, all have gone. My cupboards are sparse now, but well organised.

TBG has gone to the tip this morning with a car load of old paint, broken furniture and random nonsense. I really, really want to take every single book off the bookshelves and put them back neatly and dusted. But instead I am going to a friend's for Sunday lunch. The books will have to wait. TBG was trying to suggest we did not need to clear another book shelf to make space for baby stuff. We have just enough wall that we could squeeze in the chair and chest of drawers. His view being we could clear later if we need a cot.

I was FIRM and said absolutely not. We need to send some stuff into shortage. I am having a PFB moment, I don't want the room to look like a study we crammed baby stuff into. I want it to at least look like a dual purpose room, even if it's never going to look like the perfect nursery. There needs to be space, a nice rug on the floor, and some pictures so it's not just wall to wall military history. I'm not sure he entirely understands me on this, but he conceded on the very practical point that there needs to be enough space so the chair bed, when a bed, does not block the cat flap.
