Very shocked, but very happy.

Anyone else want to join me for the ride!

KLou111 · 11/12/2010 16:36

Hope you're OK MrsBB, if the doc says there is nothing to worry about, just try to relax. I would be totally the same as you though!! I am always checking when I wipe!

Bit of a question for you all. My last CD1 was 2nd November. FF said I was due to OV on 15th November. I had pink/brown spotting, assuming implantation on Sunday/Monday just gone (5th/6th I think) so if that was 10DPO which apparently is the maximum time it happens, my OV date would have been 25th November. How do I work out my due date, from when?? FF is saying 9th August but I think it would be later. How pregnant am I?? Sorry if I've just confused you all!!Xmas Confused

Georgimama · 11/12/2010 16:42

Do you normally have very long cycles KLou? Because I would assume due date 40 weeks from 2nd November if they are usually 28 to 30 days. The spotting may be a bit of a red herring, possibly caused by the cervix softening slightly around that time due to hormones, rather than implantation.

KLou111 · 11/12/2010 16:48

I have only been off the pill since 25th August, and my first 'proper' cycle was 35, next was 28, then that was it.

It was BFN until Wednesday, then I didn't test again til yesterday, hence thinking the pink was implantation as I read you won't have a BFP until at least 4 days later, which is exactly what I had. I am so confused!

Georgimama · 11/12/2010 16:52

Can you remember what your cycles were like before you were on the pill?

I would just go with 40 weeks from CD1 and wait and see what your 12 week scan reveals, doctor will fiddle with your dates if the scan doesn't match up with what you think. I calculate you're due about 9th August.

KLou111 · 11/12/2010 17:02

I've been on the pill non stop for almost 14 years and they were a bit irratic before that, which is why I was put on the pill. I think I'll go with what you have said unless told otherwise :) Thank you!!

happy75 · 11/12/2010 17:18

Hello,

Can I join in (with trepidation) - I will be 7 weeks on Monday (following a MC in April and a blighted Ovum a few years before that). Obviously feeling very nervous but trying to concentrate on just enjoying being pregnant - enjoy it while it lasts is my moto at the moment.

My DP works abroad so my mum is coming along for a reassurance scan at the early Pregnancy Unit on Tuesday to check everything is okay.

I just wanted to say hello - hoping to be here for the full 40.

Best wishes to you all xx

littlemisslozza · 11/12/2010 18:22

Hi happy75!

Klou I have been in your situation twice and am again! I come off the pill and before I have long enough to get a regular cycle length I get pg Grin. The date you get given at the 12 week scan is what they go with, they use your dates but sometimes adjust according to size and development of the baby at that stage, so don't worry.

My due date is sometime between 10th and 17th August, so another one slightly uncertain here. I'm just telling them when CD1 was (3rd Nov) and will wait and see if they adjust dates, they didn't with DS1 but did with DS2.

lindy100 · 11/12/2010 18:27

Littlemisslozza isn't it a great date? Everyone wanted us to have one on 8/9/10 (Er, no!) or 9/10/11. But I've not been able to wait!

Wouldn't it be funny if our next ones were born on the same day too?!

Totally agree about events we can't be bothered with - mine is, sad to say, the whole of Christmas. I just want to hibernate and wake up in the spring.

Hi happy - lovely to see you - hope the scan goes ok too!

happy75 · 11/12/2010 18:43

Hello everyone! Its lovely to be part of a thread!

Klou - same for me, I'm dated as a week further gone than I actually am but as we have being using OPK tests I know exactly how many weeks I am, hoping they will adjust dates after this first scan. If not I guess the trick is to adjust things in your head so you don't get worried every time you go for a scan and are told you're behind where you should be. Good luck! Smile

wheresmytractor · 11/12/2010 20:39

Hi Ladies

happy75 welcome and big congrats for your BFP! Everything crossed for you that everything works out.
coastgirl, I have my works doo next week, I quite like being sober too, even though when i'm not pregnant or breastfeeding I do love my red wine! :o

Anyone else feeling fat already??? Due to my now enforced sobriety I am picking at mincepies and pringles in the evening and put on 2 pounds already! Blush Need to curb it, just a shame about all the christmas goodies.....

northeastmummy · 11/12/2010 21:00

Hello there happy75 ... lovely to meet you and big congratulations!

I'm the same with dates and have no idea when I'm due even though this is my third. My cycles are hugely variable ... DD1 was a week early ... DD2 a week late. I'm going to be pushing for the latest date possible this time as they were booking me in for induction with DD2 way before I thought I was ready and I don't want to end up there again. Once they have a date set they won't deviate from that.

wheresmytractor - I feel huge! I've already started buttoning my jeans with a hairband to give a bit of extra stretch. It all happened a bit quicker second time round but I'm starting to think third time could be even speedier!

Firawla · 11/12/2010 22:18

msbb i hope everything is okay, atleast if your gp is not worried thats a good sign?

wheres my tractor/north east mummy - yeh i feel fat too, i think you do show quicker with each one. someone said to me they can see a slight bump already, but i think was either their imagination getting overenthusiastic or more likely it was just fat Hmm

TerrysNo2 · 11/12/2010 23:03

Evening all. DH out tonight so I am catching up on Casualty, anyone else watch it? It almost always manages to make me weepy and I do like a good sob at the TV!!

happy75 I bet you are!! and welcome to the thread. Grin

wheresmytractor, northeast and firawla - but its ok to poke out our tummies and rub them now right!! And eat more chocolate and blame it on the baby!! That's what I'm doing Grin

MrsBB I too heard that brown blood isn't necessarily a bad thing and so I hope its just some leftover implantation blood. FX that's the last of it!

I think I am definitely due on the 20th as I was charting and had a +OPK on that day and then a temp rise. Luckily my cycles were quite consistent since coming off the pill (26, 27 and 28 days) so EDD of August 20th, but I look forward to getting a scan to give me a "proper" date based on the bump, it never feels as real as then!

Hope everyone has had a good evening, if you watch X-Factor, please don't out anything on here as I am recording it to watch with DH tomorrow night. Smile

spilttheteaagain · 12/12/2010 08:11

Morning all,

I am a big impressive 4 whole weeks today! Nice line on stick Smile

I got my consultant referral yesterday so need to phone on Monday for an appointment.

spilttheteaagain · 12/12/2010 08:12

Firawla it's probably just bloating/fluid retention at this stage sadly!

northeastmummy · 12/12/2010 08:37

I watch Casualty TerrysNo2 - I even tape it in case we miss it! There aren't many things I follow so faithfully!!

I agree on the food front - we now have the perfect excuse for Christmas over indulgence. Could be dangerous! Anyway, plenty of time to worry about that next year Xmas Smile.

Thinking of changing my nickname ... but what to???

wheresmytractor · 12/12/2010 09:57

northeastmummy this is my third too, so I expect i'll be the size of a house fairly soon! I put on 3 stone with my first son and 4 stone with my second. I bloody hope I don't follow that pattern and end up putting on 5! I had just got back into my size 12 jeans too....

Anyone tried alchol free lager? Whats it like? I want to keep my pregnancy under wraps in RL and lager looks like lager whether its alchol free or not so I thought i'd give it a whirl.

Have a good day ladies, i'm off to the car boot to find a holly wreath for our front door - its christmas!!! Grin x x

harassedinhertinselpants · 12/12/2010 10:40

wheresmytractor - I didn't get on with alcohol free lager last time, but one of my friends swears by it. I drink lime and soda, looks like a g & t Xmas Grin.

Does anybody go to the gym?? I just started back a few weeks ago after a 6month break. Went this morning and nearly fainted on the bloody tread climber, hadn't even done much tbh!!! Right flipping idiot I looked, and now I've had to tell a couple of the instructors I'm preg Xmas Hmm. Booked for a review on Wednesday anyway, so can get my program changed, and will just take it very slowly tomorrow night!!

TerrysNo2 · 12/12/2010 11:33

wheresmytractor Becks is probably the best non-alcoholic lager although there are some others - pilsner and cobra that I remember. Also you can get non-alcoholic cider, I think Kopperberg do some. There is non-alcoholic wine too (lady at toddler group had a bag advertising it but I didn't want to ask!)

harassed I don't go to the gym but I do play Tennis but not sure if I should now? Confused

harassedinhertinselpants · 12/12/2010 11:47

Non alcoholic wine is beyond vile!!! I have a couple of friends who looked at importing decent and expensive stuff, but when we tasted it it was soooo vile that they changed their minds lol.

terry's no idea about tennis. Have you googled??

KLou111 · 12/12/2010 15:01

hi girlies
northeastmummy how aboutwhyayepet lol. My mum and dad are from geordie-land (well mackham land actually!)

Re non alcy stuff, have tried the Pear Kopparberg before when I was driving, bloody love the stuff, tastes NO different to the alcy one IMO.
Not tried any of the beers, I too just drink lime and soda, it's so good! Esp when it's free as our local Wetherspoons can't be arsed to charge the 30p for it most of then time!

DH came downstairs this morning and said to me and the dog (and not-yet-bump), 'How's my little family this morning?' Patted my belly. Made me smile. Think he's as excited, just doesn't show it as much as me. He said yesterday when I asked if he was excited 'I am, but not sure what to get excited about at the moment. It's like when you order something on the internet, until you physically can see it, and it gets nearer to being here, I am excited but not getting too excited.' He totally confused me, but I knew what he meant. Until we see the scan, it's not really real. But he is interested in it all, don't take me wrong!! Apparently we're the size of an apple pip :) He liked that!!

KLou111 · 12/12/2010 15:30

Has anyone got, or can recommend, a pregnancy journal to record what is going on in there and record how you're feeling etc? Have seen a few, but not sure which one to go for. The new Anne Geddes one looks good, but so does the Christine Harris one.

Firawla · 12/12/2010 18:23

awww klou that is lovely :)
as for the pregnancy journal i have no idea though

coastgirl · 12/12/2010 18:31

My DH talks to my stomach all the time! He says he doesn't want to get too excited because it's so early but we both already are really. I think not telling anyone else (MN aside) makes it worse!

Don't know about the pregnancy journal but on the drinks front, Becks Blue is delish and tastes just like the real stuff - I had to check the bottle the first time I took a swig. Bavaria is nice as well. The non-alcoholic wine is gross though, although it was bearable with ice in.

fel1x · 12/12/2010 19:22
