Hello there fel1x - it's lovely to see you!

Klou ... problem is I'm even norther than that. Should be some something like fitlike. Quite like that actually. I'm after something a bit shorter!

Non alcoholic wine isn't good I agree. The problem is there's no "warmth" in it. I do quite like still being able to pop a cork although now there are less corks I think I can probably even live without that.

I'm not really a beer lover so think I'll be sticking to soda and lime too. Will probably have a glass of wine here and there though.

Do you mean a journal for writing in? Or for telling you what stage you're at?

KLou111 · 12/12/2010 19:34

Hiya fel1x great to see another August busser here!!

DH just bought me the Christine Harris journal for Chrimbo Xmas Smile As it's my first time, I want to log EVERYTHING!!

DH just been looking at pram/pushchair/car seat/carry cot combos LMAO!! Swear he just like the thought of an excuse to buy more gadgets!

Got told off earlier when I nipped in the fridge and had a mars bar. 'Have you not had any lunch? You really should be eating properly now you know. 3 proper meals a day.' Oops, that told me!! Don't know about you lot, but I have eaten twice today, a bacon sandwich earlier, then carbonara for dinner, (and a mars bar Wink) and I really didn't want it, was just eating as I thought I should be.

KLou111 · 12/12/2010 19:37

sorry, X post with Northeast. The journal is a bit of everything. Tells you what's going on at what time in your body, you can write notes of how you're feeling, places for photos and scans etc. Just a keepsake really of your pregnancy.

TerrysNo2 · 12/12/2010 20:20

Evening all

KLou I used this diary with DS and it was lovely - little pockets to keep stuff in, scans, info leaflets etc. I just fished it out of the cellar yesterday so I can have a nosey, although it doesn't start for another 2 weeks yet as we weren't trying for DS.

Fe1ix welcome! Grin

I just bought some of the non-alcoholic wine from Sainsburys - I think it was £2! But I also got some mulled wine mix so going to try it that way! We have a big dinner party next weekend and so I need to have something to fraudulently drink!

RunDMC · 12/12/2010 22:01

hi everyone and welcome to all the new people... Grin can hardly keep up !!

just popping in to say have been feeling really bad this weekend - constant nausea, shattered and actual vomiting. Nice.. Bleurgh. Keeping telling myself it is a good sign of things going well and it being a strong pregnancy unlike my last one but boy I wasn't expecting it to get worse by the day. Think I am 7+5.

(tells herself sternly to keep smiling through the nausea and get it together...)

Even the thought of non-alcoholic wine/beer makes me feel sick (along with many many other things !). DH had a brandy last night and I had to leave the room ! Having a hard time hiding this from people so may have to become a hermit for the next few weeks Xmas Sad

Wishing everyone a good week...

mrsred · 12/12/2010 22:44

Hi all,
I met up with a friend who is about 10 days until she pops, and we had some sainsburys non alcoholic mulled wine, which did taste really authentic? perhaps worth a try if you are missing it this year?

Morning all and welcome to all the newbies.

I'm 7 weeks today and still feeling OK, although am suffering from tiredness. only sympton is i have sore boobs which have also increased in size. I have had to buy some new bras as I have gone up from a b cup to a c cup. Another sympton I got last time and has just started to resurface again is itchy nipples, but as they are also sore it actually hurts to stratch them, so I have been putting E45 cream on them twice a day. Nice!!

Ekka · 13/12/2010 09:52

Well if anyone is missing mulled wine, Past times have a non-alcoholic one which is apparently really good (and this recommendation is from a friend who is not noted for chosing non-alcoholic drinks over alcoholic ones!!!) and bottle green do a nice spiced berries cordial which is quite nice mixed with hot water.....

I'm shattered, as usual, but no real other symptoms. We haven't told the kids (and won't for a long time) but the other night dd announced - "mummy I would like a baby sister". I did point out that you can't chose the sex, but didn't make any other comment. Don't think ds is bothered, he is still at the tantrums stage - 5 already this morning, and we have to go to dd's nursery carol concert this afternoon - yikes!

KLou111 · 13/12/2010 12:07

Just come back from the Docs. I did ask if I should have phoned the MW direct rather than waste her time. She said they don't do that here especially with the first. She said I like to check you first and get your paperwork done, then refer you. Apparently we're 6 weeks gone Xmas Shock

She said the MW will be in touch after Chrimbo to arrange a scan. OMG, this is all really real. We got out of the Doc and DH started welling up. Think it's just hit him we're having a baby!!

Now he's really excited and wants to tell everyone on NYE (8.5 weeks), there will be 18/20 of us celebrating, so not sure if I could handle everyone at the same time!!

Funny though as his friend phoned just after we got out of the Docs and DH checked to see if they were coming NYE (would be 20 of us if so) and said they are trying to get a babysitter for their 5yo. He said 'you've got all this to come you know!' They don't even know we've been trying and how funny he should say it when we just came from the Docs!!

fel1x · 13/12/2010 14:14

Thanks for the welcome Smile

i have no symptoms yet really, but very early days for me still! I have told my sister but no one else till a bit later on. Feels more real now. My sister is v v excited!!

I think I am going to wait till after xmas to get a Drs appt and book in. I'll be about 6 weeks then I think. Dont want to jump the gun seeing as it is still so early on.

Not sure how to add my stats...

i think mine would be

Fel1x pg#3 (DS 5.2, DS 2.10) EDD 19/08/11

If someone doesnt mind adding me next time they get updated that would be great! Thanks

Saw the GP today as still spotting (since Friday). Wish me luck - have a viability scan on Thursday morning.
Started feeling horribly nauseous last night - that would be too cruel if Bumpy isn't OK on the scan :(

I booked my initial GP appointment today, though it's not until next monday. Receptionist was very snippy with me when I asked whether I need to see GP or midwife. She did say congratulations before putting phone down.
I intended to tell my teaching assistant today (feel ok, but if suddenly feel sick I need her to know what's going on) but I couldn't get the words out. Not a good start!

sparklytoes · 13/12/2010 18:30

Good luck for your scan MrsBB1982, really hope that everything is good.

northeastmummy · 13/12/2010 19:47

Yes absolutely MrsBB1982 - good luck for Thursday. It's so nerve racking going through the early stages. Will you have someone with you?

KLou - your DH is sooooooo lovely!!! It's in the man's job description to sort out the pram, do all the research etc. They love it Xmas Smile.

I'm really up and down with symptoms which fills me with fear. I'm very, very tired but other than that, nothing much. I was really nauseous a week or so ago but nothing now although I'm not as up for alcohol as normal which is a sure fire sign everything's ok!

spilttheteaagain · 13/12/2010 19:59

Thinking of you MrsBB, hoping Bumpy is well and safe and just burrowing in a a bit more.

Run sorry you're feeling so ill, it is miserable and really wears you down.

Eskarina yes I know oh too well being too embarrassed to tell anyone!
We phoned our parents and told them last night, and it was good actually, but I remember our first pregnancy announcement and went bright Blush telling my dad. It felt like a big announcement of "Dad I have been really naughty and had SEX!" Though I'm sure he realises (and is pleased!) that we do not have a celibate marriage...

I have hit the emotional nutjob stage today and cried on three stupid occasions - the cat jumping off my lap, the man on Eggheads looking sad and confused, and remembering a nature documentary I cried at when pregnant in the summer and a baby penguin was abandoned (please note, penguin was fine and I knew that, but still cried remembering).

Feeling tired and very thirsty and consequently bloated.

KLou111 · 13/12/2010 20:02

Good luck with everything MrsBB&

Got told this morning I should be taking vit D supplements now. Can I take any, or are they specifically for pregnancy? Forgot to ask Doc.

Still not hungry. Forced the food down again today and I normally LOVE food!!!

spilttheteaagain · 13/12/2010 20:06

Klou you can just buy a supermarket bottle of VitD as far as I know (check dose). I actually take the Pregnacare tablets which covers the folic acid, vit D and about another 20 important ones and is conveniently all in one tablet.

KLou111 · 13/12/2010 20:26

Just bought some pregnacare 270 tablets, 3 for 2 from vitabiotics :)

Eskarina · 13/12/2010 21:03

MrsBB sorry we crossed posts earlier. Hope spotting clears up and Bump is OK.

Klou Pregnacare must be doing slow business - they were 3 for 2 in boots as well!

I'm also off my food, feel really hungry then eat the smallest thing and am instantly full. Not feeling nauseous, although a whiff of off-milk and an unsavoury smell from the classroom toilets did nearly send me over the edge. I'm not great with smells anyway though

AnnieDelores · 13/12/2010 21:07

Hi! Due August 8th. Is anyone else struggling to fit into their jeans yet? And is it me or is this the fartiest experience ever!!!!??

LifeOfKate · 13/12/2010 21:13

Good luck for Thursday MrsBB.

I had to pop into the GPs today for something else and bumped into the midwife on my way in. I told her she'd probably be expecting me to come in in the new year and she let me know that the best date would be 10th January, which would be perfect as I'll be about 9 weeks.
So, I went up to the counter and after I'd sorted what I came for, I said that I needed to book a booking appointment with the midwife for 10th Jan. The receptionist asked if I had had it confirmed Confused I asked whether she meant had I been to see the GP and she told me that I have to have a blood test to confirm the pregnancy Shock I didn't have to with DS (only 20 months ago!), so was a little surprised, to say the least! I did ask if 4 positive HPTs, nausea, bloating and extreme tiredness would count as confirmation, but apparently not Hmm So, I have to go and have a blood test on Thursday to confirm the pregnancy.
It's mad, even though I know I'm pregnant, I'm now worried that the blood test is going to be negative, how crazy is that?! This pregnancy lark is stressful enough in the early stages without added stresses :(

LifeOfKate · 13/12/2010 21:18

Haha, Annie, I never used to fart in front of DH but since my last pregnancy I had to abandon that particular secret in my marriage Blush I think it's because there's so much happening in that area, there's no room for unnecessary air :o

Firawla · 13/12/2010 21:19

thats quite strange, i never had to have a blood test with either of mine. i wonder why they bother really when you are already sure

good luck with scan mrs bb
