Evening all! I went to the dentist today as the side of my face has been killing the past few days and so I've not been able to sleep at night, apparently I have jaw joint problem. Confused Dentist told me to take regular painkillers to reduce the swelling and make it feel better. I know paracetamol is ok in PG but is it ok to keep taking it regularly??

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 19:51

Hello all

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 19:57

Tis the lucky thread.

My story is Age 34, texbook pg 1 resulting in DS age 3 (v difficult labour though). MC @ 12 weeks Aug 10 and have miraculously got diffed 2nd cycle after MC Xmas Grin Now 5+2 my dates but 6+5 GP dates! (long cycle late OV)

Hoooge boobs, montgomerys, diff nips, teensy weensy bit of nausea this morn and last night, but waiting and waiting for the onslaught... bring it on!! Hoping and hoping for this one to be sticky as DS is nagging me for a sibling Xmas Hmm

Nice to meet you all xxx

spilttheteaagain · 09/12/2010 20:02

Terrys paracetamol is as you say fine for pregnancy, but maybe pop into your pharmacy and ask the pharmacist advice on regular dosing? I would try and keep it to a minimum, but as you know I am deeply, deeply paranoid this time.

Wow bunnyface you beat the odds there!

coastgirl yes I remember being asked really early about wher I wanted to have the baby. I was totally bemused and not at all ready to decide.

sparklytoes · 09/12/2010 20:25

hi all,
my stats are
sparklytoes: 35yrs, pg#1, EDD 02/08/11, Edinburgh

looking forward to getting to know you all Smile

wheresmytractor · 09/12/2010 21:13

Hi ladies, can I join please? Got a BFP on Sunday morning, rather unexpected but welcome surprise! Getting my head round it now. I really thought AF was coming on Saturday night so went out on the razz with some mates, and now feel really guilty :( Do you think it'll do any damage so early?

This is my third child, 2 boys 2.10 and 16 months. I live in Exeter. I'll add my details to the list in a minute. I think I am due on the 14th August, thats my youngest sons birthday. August is going to be big in our family!

Any other mums expecting their third feeling a mixture of happy and terrified?? :)

wheresmytractor welcome! Don't worry about the drinking thing, I was drunk when I took my PG test with DS, after a week of being drunk every night! Grin Just so you know I'm not an awful person - we weren't trying and I didn't have regular AF's but because I hadn't had one for a while and was drinking so much, I just randomly tested to "rule it out". Almost 3 years later he is a beautiful, healthy 2 year old monster!

Just re-read my AN thread from DS and I didn't have any symptoms apart from mild nausea, mild cramps and nibbles that felt permanently erect!! Blush

wheresmytractor I am feeling happy and uncertain, I think that's in lieu of terrified as I can't quite believe it yet!!

TerrysNo2 · 09/12/2010 21:30

It might be a bit premature but have you seen this Chinese Pregnancy Calendar? I used it with DS and it was correct. This time is says girl! That was also my gut feeling but no idea really.

wheresmytractor · 09/12/2010 22:07

Hi Terrys

Thanks for that :)Thats good to know, I did have a big night on Saturday and tested with a hangover as I just didn't feel quite right.... Now I know why!

I felt sicky with both boys but not actually sick, and so far this time I don't feel very different, just a bit tired.

Take care x

littlemisslozza · 10/12/2010 08:42

Hi wheresmytractor I've got two boys too and am excited about having a third child, now it's happening I do feel slightly terrified! I remember feeeling the same going from one to two though, and it was great.

I too am due around DS2's birthday and DS1's birthday is just 3 weeks later.

harassedinhertinselpants · 10/12/2010 10:08

wheresmytractor - I have two ds's and a dd, and was sick as a dog with dd!!

I also got rather drunk the week before my bfp, but it was the night before my bfp with dd and she's just fine! Don't worry about it.

My eldest and youngest share the same birthday, with a 17yr age gap. It wasn't meant to be like that! Ds1 was spot on time (5 July), but dd was 10 days late.

pinkclouds · 10/12/2010 15:16

harassed my 4th too. Glad I'm not the only one to put myself through this 4 times Grin.

littlemiss all mine have birthday around the time of the year!! From the end August to the end of September we seem to have every birthday in the family and now this one is due at the beginning of August. Shock

Every time I lull myself into a false sense of security that I won't experience the horrendous never ending vomiting... Then it arrives with a vengeance Sad. From the minute I wake up in the morning to the minute I go to bed. Everything is making ill. The smell of fresh air has to be one of the worse smells during pregnancy Blush. Does anyone else have a particular smell which sets you off?

KLou111 · 10/12/2010 15:47

Hi all
Not read through the thread yet, but can I join?

Just had my BFP at 8am this morning!! So excited. It's number 1 for us, came off pill 25th August so not been trying too long so can't believe it's all real!!

I was due AF on 30th November, but had pink spotting Sunday night, brown Monday morning so must've been implantation. Tested Tues and Weds, nadda, but now it's BFP!

Booked doctors for Monday morning at 10:10am to have it all confirmed x

KLou111 · 10/12/2010 15:48

Think am due August 9th BTW according to FF :)

Afternoon all.

Congratulations KLou.

terrys that calculator is bollocks... it got my first wrong! Grin

pinkclouds sorry you're feeling so rubbishy. I was awful too last time and not expecting this to be any better! After a bit I found that the smell of fresh lemon helped a bit, so I took to putting slices in my water to help me drink.

I am feeling tender of stomach and superprotective of my tiny speck.

Eskarina · 10/12/2010 17:28

How soon do I need to start thinking about contacting my GP? I'm still in quite a lot of denial and don't want to make a muppet of myself by going only for it not to stick. (First pregnancy). I'm only at work until next Friday when the school term finishes. I might try to get an appointment for the following week when I'm off.

I've been looking up what I can and can't eat. Although I don't suppose I have a placenta for anything to pass through yet

spilttheteaagain · 10/12/2010 17:31

Eskarina you can usually bypass the GP and just ask for an appointment with the midwife. The GPs usually just say "Congrats, are you taking folic acid. Lovely, now go and book with the MW."

I would try and see the MW next week when you're off so that s/he can get you booked for your scan in time, what with Christmas coming up and all.

Eskarina · 10/12/2010 17:33

Thanks spillthetea I wondered if it would be something like that.

sparklytoes · 10/12/2010 18:11

Hi Eskarina,
I phoned the GP surgery and asked for midwife number, phoned them and got booked in straight away for appt and scan. I've got appt in Christmas hols, scan is a couple of weeks back into the new term Smile

TerrysNo2 · 10/12/2010 18:20

Evening all! Welcome Klou and congratulations. I feel like I know you as was stalking the August Bus! Can't believe it took so long for your BFP to show up, but better late than never! Smile

KLou your post made me Smile that you have booked an appt with the GP, as spilt said, all they say is did you get a +ve PG test and then say congrats and go and see the midwife. I expected them to test me to make sure but they don't! Depending on where you live though its good to get your name in the system soon so you can get a 12wk scan booked in. Its important to have a scan before 13.2wk (I think) if you want to have the nuchal fold and bloods done.

I will probably call docs on Monday and make a MW appointment.

I am quite jealous of you ladies who are going through your first PG as its all so so exciting and new when its your first, everyday is a new discovery and you won't have that experience again. Enjoy it!! Oh and of course Envy that you still get to have lie ins too! Grin

Hope everyone has a good evening, DH off out so I am going to -drink- -wine- MN, catch up on Casualty and eat chocolate biscuits! Grin

KLou111 · 10/12/2010 18:38

I'm happy to go to docs on Monday Terrys even if they do just give me a number for the MW as it's all new and exciting to us Xmas Smile

I just asked the receptionist that I just found out I was preg and what do I do now and she said to come in, see the doc and they'll sort it from there, so I'm in their hands, I haven't got a clue (even if my mum has just retired from being a midwife!)

We run a business from home (if you call it that, we've got a lot of properties and if we don't hear from tenants of any problems, we don't work, which is great!) so we're not taking any time off to go or anything so we're both quite keen to go to the docs and hear what we need to do x

Firawla · 10/12/2010 19:34

eskarina u might aswel just make the apt/midwife referal now, you wouldn't make a muppet of yourself. im sure everything will be fine but apparently if you had a miscarriage its better to be on the system with the pregnancy registered anyway otherwise they wont be able to count it on your records?? (not totally sure if this is the case but have heard it) so either way its best to just get the apt done and out the way?

i have done my self referral now so probably will cancel gp apt as there is no point now, didn't realise you could do the referral yourself from online but seems much quicker and easier, shame i didnt know that the last times
