I know how you feel Kate, I hated takign my DS for his jabs, while he was at the DR's for his 13 month jab, they also became super efficient and stuck him with the MMR jab Too :(
The little mite was fab tho, he got a chocolate button and that made everything ok again, I was more upset than him!

As for the windy issue, I suffered terribly first time around, so much that my DH nicknamed me "Chicago"! Bloody charming! And it feels like it's all starting again Wink

And like several others, I have also forgotton to put myself on the list :

Waverley82 · 10/01/2011 09:27

Nice to see a few newbies and so sorry to the people who have had losses - I hope it happens again soon for you if thats what you're hoping for.

I've not been online much as we're redecorating our whole flat and the internet has been disconnected - it's chaos here...!

Anyway I have my scan today - nervous!!! Excited too, just so hoping everything is ok, will come back on later and let you know how we got on...

jspark123 · 10/01/2011 09:55

Hi everyone, not been on for a while, have been waiting to hear from my midwife for my booking in appointment, just spoke to the doctors this morning and they have not even sent in my referral, aarrgh!!! how extremely annoying, especially as I need my thyroid levels checking, double aarrgh!!! just needed to vent my anger at my GP's ineptitude! sorry.
I agree with those on the windy issue, no attempts at altering my diet seem to be helping, but on a plus note my nausea seems to have gone, I am about 10+3.
Hope everyones scans go okay x

SMummyS · 10/01/2011 10:23

I'm 8w3 now :) got my booking appointment in the morning! I'm a bit scared though because I can feel my cyst now :(

I may have to opt for a C section. That's if the don't have to operate on it in 2nd trimester :(

nickstermum · 10/01/2011 10:47

what cyst SMUMMY? sorry i havent scrolled back..

OMG i am 10 weeks tomorrow Shock Grin

thats a whole quarter of the way through :)
(assuming that its still all ok inside)

LadyGG do you have your 12 week scan today/this week? all the best for it - FX for that little wriggling bean xxxxx

nickstermum · 10/01/2011 10:49

Jspark how annoying! In the words of my DS age 3 'blimmin heck'! I hope they sort it all for you PRONTO! Nag them til they do.

SMummyS · 10/01/2011 10:51

I have a cyst on my right ovary, it's 6.4cm x 5.3 cm x 4.5cm it's grown 1cm in 10 days and has a daughter cyst with it now. The main prob is the position of it, it's bent my ovary onto of uterus and pushing up into my pelvis. I see a consultant after my 12 week scan to decide the way forward.

bettyboo83 · 10/01/2011 11:05

I'm sorry SMummyS that you've got this to deal with too but it sounds like you're being well monitored and looked after.

Good luck with your scan Waverley82 Smile

I have my booking apt with the midwife this afternoon so looking forward to that - I guess it will make it feel a bit more real!

Yukana · 10/01/2011 11:22

Congrats to everyone - good luck with those appointsments and scans!

I just received a letter from the local Birth Center about a scan on the 28th. I also have my midwife appointment on the 19th, not sure what will happen then as it's my second appointment, but I guess we'll see!

Thankfully I found it much easier to sleep last night, so I'm feeling a little refreshed. Quite light headed though, so I'll need to get more fluids and food down me if I can.

I look forward to finally being able to put myself on the list!

LittleBeaut · 10/01/2011 12:05

I have my scan and nuchal tests on the 21st Jan... bit nervous but sure I'll live. I will be 13+ weeks by the time I'm having my scan so I think its a bit late but hey ho. And I assume my midwife was expecting the scan to be before that as I'm seeing her on the 20th Jan for the results Confused

I also have a hospital appointment on the 28th Jan for diabetes test... the thought of all that sitting about in a hospital has got me all excited haha Hmm

Good luck with all scans this week ladies xx

SMummyS · 10/01/2011 12:29

I knew today was going to be hard, 1st day back at work since before Xmas but I'm so tired and uncomfy, I just want to go lay down. I can feel my cyst which makes me feel I'll :( only 3 and a half hours left at work...

LadyGoneGaga · 10/01/2011 12:51

Got my nuchal scan on Wednesday morning, Nickster. Had my pre-blood tests done this morning as is a combined type test. Back to feeling nervous again - nausea ramped down a lot, belly looks smaller which I think is just some of the early bloating clearing. But you know you worry something bad will have happended in interim between scans! Probably just being stupid. Had a horrible dream last night. I gave birth to a little girl, but the midwifes took her away and were sniggering and going "It's such shame, isn't it awful" and then they came back and told me that her nose was all split open and deformed. I was shouting at them for being unprofessional and how could they talk about my daughter like that. She was still beautiful to me. So keep fingers crossed for Wednesday for me.

Sorry you're having problems, SMummys. Hope they can stop it from growing somehow.

SMummyS · 10/01/2011 12:59

Thanks, they took bloods last week to rule out a cancerous lump. I've not heard anything so I'm guessing that's all clear. It doesnt help this is my first so I have nothing to base cramping on.

one positive is il get to see LO more as they will have to scan me more than normal :)

littlemissw · 10/01/2011 13:40

wheresmytractor Yes, I keep wondering how I'll cope with 3. Luckily my youngest will start school in Sept, so at least I'll be able to catch up on lost sleep during the day!

For the nausea I can recommend acupressure or for the really bad all day type, sea-bands

LifeOfKate I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago & my 3 year old went with me for her booster immunisations. I think it helped a little that mum had to have an injection too, but I still felt so sorry for her, especially since she had to have 2!

I'm having really strange dreams too. Last night I was snogging Robbie Williams Blush He wasn't a very good kisser though ... far too sloppy Grin DH couldn't stop laughing when I told him this morning.

Good luck to all of you who has your scans coming up. Its always so special to see your little one for the first time.

wishwales · 10/01/2011 14:18

I had my booking in, bloods and first official scan today (4th actual scan though because of 3 early preg ones I needed for pain, blood and clotting). Baby is 10.3 and everything looks great. It is feeling a bit more real now....

Also, could someone please change my EDD to 5/8/2011???

CappuccinoCarrie · 10/01/2011 14:40

littlemiss and tractor I'm having no 3 too, as is ekka and I'm sure several others who I can't remember. Thankfully my eldest starts school two weeks after my EDD so I'll only have 2 DC at home most of the time, although I'll feel sad not to have my tribe with me - when we started tcc a year ago I had hoped for a year of 3 at home and being a little gang together!

re: wind - I also find lying on my back just to allow my insides to reorganise themselves really works, and as soon as the wind has, ahem, left the building, I can get up and about again!

maternity clothes...I'm in my elastic jeans at home and I'm only 8+3! Normal jeans dig in and make me feel sick. Tried on some maternity cords in the H&M sale today but couldn't get them past my knees Blush. Will go back without the DCs in tow and try a bigger pair!

Someone asked about symptoms and gender of the baby - I def had different sickness with my 2 DCs. With DD I couldn't eat enough fish fingers, but went totally off coffee (had to cross the street to avoid coffee shops). With DS I was fine with coffee, and loved pork&apple rolls, and started to like sweets for the first time in my life.
This one is more similar to my boy pregnancy (the pie craving, and still liking coffee), but not identical. I've completely gone off tea. I used to require a mug of sweet tea before I'd get out of bed, but now the thought makes me want to hurl.
I love guessing the sex, we've never found out at the 20week scan, but like to speculate! Last time I guessed right based on different cravings, and how I carried the baby (DD was high, DS was low).

CappuccinoCarrie · 10/01/2011 14:40

Also is anyone else sleeping really badly? I wake up pretty much every hour of the night, have a sip of water and go back to sleep. I'm missing the feeling of having had a good solid night's sleep.

CappuccinoCarrie · 10/01/2011 14:59

And anyone else really thirsty?!!!

Yukana · 10/01/2011 15:44

Capp -
Yes, my sleep is pretty bad. I have to wake up multiple times to drink from the bottle of water I have next to my bed. It seems I can never drink enough, I always have dry lips and so I guess I should drink more fluids.

Firawla · 10/01/2011 16:08

im having my 3rd too, my eldest will have just turned 3 so he will be elligible for some nursery hours so may be able to start him in sept. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to start him straight away in sept if having a new baby in august, like if its too many new things but i think probably it would be okay, he's quite keen to go already, and i think it might make life a bit easier for me. thats if he gets a place in sept though otherwise will have to wait til jan and just keep all 3 with me

nickstermum · 10/01/2011 16:48

littlebeaut are you certain of your dates? The reason i ask is that they can only do a nuchal upto 13+6...might be an option to get it pulled forward, if they can?!

nickstermum · 10/01/2011 16:53

CC YEs totally thirsty! waking up several times a night to drink, then pee! Fizzy stuff in the day...developed a liking for lemon fanta!

Cant drink coffee, hankering after earl grey atm! Still off chocolate though...couldnt get enough with DS pg!!

firawla that's tricky, I guess it'd be helpful to you to only have two DC around some of the time, but like you say, so many new things. I know that DD is going to adore the baby, and I'm worried she'll resent school because its taking her away from mummy, her brother, and the baby, and she might feel like she's being punished as she's missing out. Or maybe I'm over-analysing Grin

MrsVidic · 10/01/2011 17:22

hello, i have started today like lots of you with the wind. my dd finds it funny to shout poo poo when i let rip so i'm spending quite a bit of time in doors lol. i too am very thirsty and i'm sure my bladder is as small as it was at 9 months last time as i'm up 3 times a night to pee. anyone else find this for the second. littlemissw i had a dream about robbie last night too, i was his guest at a wedding and i kept telling him i was preg, but he swooned me anyway, lol.
