kathpeak I'm a tiny aa boob size too usually (altho loving the fact i'm filling an a now, woohoo! :) ) am I going to struggle with feeding bras? How do you sew your own? I hate that attitude from people, that whole "why do you even bother wearing one?" - grrrr.
yukana the trapped wind is all the symptoms I'm getting, although I've always suffered a bit with it, it's well worse since biscuit-bean arrived. Try lying on your side with your forearm wedged in above your hip- it helps to force the air through you. And all the green veg you'll be eating won't be doing you any good in terms of trapped wind- oh, the irony :) - eat sitting up straight as well, not on the sofa or whatever. I'm getting all the twinges and pains you mention tho, although I'm not one to ask if they're normal being a first-timer too. Hope this helps tho x

KLou111 · 09/01/2011 11:54

I'm getting odd pains too Yukana. When I sneeze or cough is mainly when I am getting it. I'm just forcing out the wind much to DH's amusement! Been asking my mum loads of questions (retired MW) as my first too so all new to me, as don't want to be ringing my MW every 5 mins, and all is normal.

Yukana · 09/01/2011 12:05

Thank goodness, I was worried that I was abnormal in having some minor pains! Thank you, I can stop worrying about that now.

It's quite embarrassing but my family seem to find my constant wind amusing as well! I force it out in favor of not feeling so bloating and having less pain.
What I could do with right now is being whisked off to a lovely spa resort...

kathpeak · 09/01/2011 12:46

JenniL1977 Here is a good sewing guide for converting an ordinary bra into a nursing bra. It's really easy. It would work for ladies needing bigger sizes too.
www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/braconvert.html
As for sleeping bras when things get tender later on in pregnancy, I just cut down a couple of cotton vests that had inner support. They had wide elastic that sat under the bust and no seams. Very comfy.

littlemissw · 09/01/2011 14:18

Hello & congratulations ladies!

I'm expecting DC3 & I'm due on the 14 Aug. I'm also suffering the terrible burping & morning, noon & night nausea. I've had some relief from aucpressure, but am really hoping that it will all pass very soon. All good signs that things are progressing as it should though, hey?

Also (bizarrely) I started feeling the baby moving this week! I felt DD1 & DD2 really early on too (16 weeks & 12 weeks), but certainly not THIS early & to be honest I thought it was my imagination for the first day or two. Very weird indeed!
I've already opted for my comfy maternity trousers & don't think I'll be able to hide my growing bump for much longer ... it knows where to go!

SMummyS · 09/01/2011 14:23

My step daughter is noticing my belly now :( i seem to have grown in the past 3 days!!

pinkclouds · 09/01/2011 15:34

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

I am having good days and bad days !!! I seem to be growing at an extraordinary rate Hmm hoping this is because I have no stomach muscles left and not because I am having the largest baby in the world Wink.

I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday and hopefully she will be able to get blood this time as she was totally unsuccessful last time. And we are very excited about our 12week dating scan on Friday, seems to have taken ages to get this point.

MrsChemist · 09/01/2011 16:08

Hello

Hope everyone is well.

I've come to moan. I'm very ill at the moment. I caught DSs cold and today it's knocked me for six. DH has been looking after DS all day, but has gone to work, so DB is coming over to look after DS until bedtime.
I'm worried about my symptoms abating as well. My boobs aren't sore any more, and while I feel queasy, it's ignorable. I'm hoping it's just because I feel like utter shite and my mind is focusing on my head, throat and chest pain and not on the nausea.
Then I start worrying that I feel nauseated because of the cold and not the pregnancy. Sad
I have chocolate buttons of both white and milk varieties in the fridge. I'll indulge later methinks in the hope that they'll make me feel better.

Firawla · 09/01/2011 17:17

littlemissw im sure ive felt mine too, since about a week ago or so? but my 2nd i definitely felt before 12 weeks too. with him i was like omg feeling so early it must be twins!! but he wasn't i think its just that you're more aware of it after having other dc so notice it straight away?

littlemissw · 09/01/2011 17:23

Sorry to hear your are feeling less than brilliant MrsChemist I hope you are on the mend soon! Have you had the flu jab?

Firawla I'am so glad to hear I'm not the only one .... twins have crossed my mind, especially since we have twins in the family & it fills me with fear!!

I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday & hopefully will get a date for my first scan then. Can't wait!

Yukana · 09/01/2011 17:42

Oooh, sounds exciting Littlemiss! My scan is in ten days, I'm a little nervous as this is my first and I'm not sure what to expect! I think the fact I have a kind midwife though will help things considerably.

I've heard various stories about midwives in the past from my mother and grandmother. I'm a little curious as what people's experience with their midwives were/are like? Do you think they're/they were very kind or were/are they not so nice?

Excuse me if I'm being too nosy. Blush It's wonderful to hear everyone's stories, however.

hi everyone!
I'd like to join but am so late! I've known for ages but am having problems believing it's really true...

nickstermum · 09/01/2011 19:52

Re the midwife thing,,, my midwives were fine until i was in established labour... then i must have had the worst most incompetent one ever, as a result i will now have a very comprehensive birth plan!!!

nickstermum · 09/01/2011 19:54

MrsC ..sorry for so many posts, scrolling and posting as i read!

IF its any consolation, i came down with the flu at about 7 weeks and with that my symptoms disappeared over night. (nausea had just properly kicked in too!) They come and go, maybe your body is concentrating on fighting the virus to think about hcg hormone !!

wheresmytractor · 09/01/2011 20:14

Hi all,

Not posted for ages, just been sooooo tired! And feeling so nauseous. I felt the same with my last 2 aswell. I am so into sweets at the moment too and anything citrus, oj, sweets, icelollys bring it on! I have put on 6 pounds already and I am only 9 weeks pregnant! Blush

littlemissw this is my third too. You feeling nervous? I know I am! I think I felt my 2nd at about 12 weeks.

any foods tried and tested to abate the nausea? Someone memtioned muller yogurt, i'll try that!

Happy vibes to all x x

Nick -
I hate to sound horrible but it's nice to know I'm not alone! Sometimes the wind can get so uncomfortable!

Blimey, that must've been horrible. My mother and grandmother also mentioned previously that they had rather nasty midwives.

Don't worry too much about weight. Of course within reason! But at the same time the first trimester is the worst and everyone puts on weight during pregnancy. I more than definitely know how you feel. I've been eating crisps and today it was birthday cake, yoghurt and starburst!

Yes, muller yoghurt has been great for me. Don't eat more than one or two at once if you can, if you eat one in the morning and one in the late afternoon for example, it helps the nausea a lot and the hunger too. I found mandarins/oranges have been a very good tackler for my nausea, it drops to a very comfortable level for a while, so I recommend trying that. Others would be when going on trips or if you can't eat anything - sucking on hard boiled sweets that aren't coated in sugar. Butter and jam sandwiches with not so heavy on the stomach bread has helped me too. Try some of these and let me know if it works! Keeping the window open a little can also help greatly.

Actually while I'm on... is anyone not feeling/being sick, but not able to eat??

I just cant eat because it feels like its stuck in my chest (yeah im chewing it!! Grin... drinking is exactly the same. So I find I'm just not bothering now, which makes me feel tired and leaves me with no energy. Like I say soup wont even work because drinks dont go down either.

Is there anyone else feeling this way?? x

nickstermum · 09/01/2011 21:03

I have had for the last 24 hours or so hideous indigestion. My friend bless her made us a madhur jaffrey homemade curry last night and it was delicious...but sadly didnt suit me at all!! Indig all night, crampy tummy and then nausea all day today, and i havent really been suffering from sickness, but i have felt hanging today! 10 weeks on tuesday btw.. and today i have felt like eating nothing!

Wine gums for me!!!
if i cant have chocolate, i may as well have haribos Grin

talking of weight gain.... urgh nearly died when the mw weighed me at booking in....Confused

LittleBeaut · 09/01/2011 21:14

Aw dont be embarrassed nickstermum, I'm sure she's seen much worse you know??

I've been at slimming world for the last 2 years and have no intention of leaving now I'm pregnant. Yeah I know I'm going to gain weight, but I think if I dont go it will be easy to get out of the habbit of eating what I like and dont really want to start all over again after having bubba. Also I go with my mum, and want to carry on going to support her, as she might give up if I do

Hi all,

Hope everyone's feeling as well as can be!

I get chronic trapped wind during pregnancy and have already had a bit so far this time, it's incredibly painful :( The only thing I find help is to lie with my bum stuck right up in the air... attractive!

I've got my booking appointment tomorrow with the midwife, it will be nice to have some notes to carry round again :) I had a horrid dream last night where they took blood, but took it from the bit of skin between my thumb and first finger, it actually hurt when I woke up Shock So hopefully she'll be taking it from the conventional route tomorrow :o I've got to book my flu jab tomorrow too and also DS's 13 month jabs, I'm dreading that so much, it'll break my heart :(
