I would certainly say speak to your insurance company after reading the thread about a lady whose waters broke in the states at 26 wk pg and special care for babies out there is 100k per week!! :)

SMummyS · 06/01/2011 18:50

Bettyboo Ive just ordered a non wired maternity bra. Im a 34G before pregnant and im not 34GG (feels way bigger though) and im just so uncomfy in my normal ones so DP's treated me :)

Yukana · 06/01/2011 19:26

Found out I was pregnant in December myself, but it was a surprise to find out I was already over a month pregnant!

I'm at 9 weeks now, give or take, and will be having my first scan this month. First baby, so I'm excited but nervous at the same time.

Due in August, I'll find out the exact date soon - but from due date calculators I'm guessing it's within the first fortnight of August.

Congratulations to everyone else on your pregnancy!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 06/01/2011 20:31

Welcome Yukana and congrats! I've only come on to say that I that every time I see the thread title I have a little chuckle to my self.... Newly Diffed!!! heeheee Grin Love the word diffed!

JenniL1977 · 06/01/2011 20:38

Hi everyone, busy busy on here, isn't it?! Have been lurking for a few days while I nervously waited for 8 week scan... And it's all good! 1.67cm, little arms and legs, cord showing on the scan... A proper baby! DH's eyes nearly popped out of his head :)
We've also been discharged from the reproductive medicine unit now which is a victory in itself after the time it's taken us to get this far!!
Had my booking in yesterday- needed a wee sample but didn't have any bloods taken, my midwife said they do that in Leeds at the 12 week scan? But found out also we get a nuchal scan on the nhs now. It's all very much a lottery what care you get, isn't it?
My edd's changed to 17/08/11. Still got no symptoms at all other than a constant flaming headache... Should think myself lucky tho I think.
Hope you're all good out there :)
Jen x

LittleBeaut · 06/01/2011 20:59

Evening ladies!! Ok so I joined up tonight and this is my first post... obviously as I only just joined. I dont really understand all the 'online talk' yet but looking forward to learning :-)

My due date is 3rd Aug. Its my 3rd child, and I have to day I'm a little nervous about telling my boys... if anyone has any advice that would be great!!

Anyway just wanted to say hi to you all and congrats to everyone that having an August baby xx

spilttheteaagain · 06/01/2011 21:09

Welcome to Yukana and LittleBeaut, lovely to see more August folk.

MrsStevo · 06/01/2011 22:55

Hi to all the newbies!

Have been observing the thread but not posting for a few days as everytime I do I sound like a moping minnie.

Am 8 weeks today but on Monday I started cramping quite badly and all my symptoms had disappeared by Tuesday - still no bleeding tho. Have a booking appt on Monday but after speaking with the midwife I've postponed that and she's managed to get me a scan at the EPAU on Tuesday. I mc in May and am pretty certain the same thing is happening again - I feel the same now as I did then.

So heart-wrenchingly horrible, and somehow worse because now I know what to expect.

Nonetheless, I am genuinely happy for all of you (felt quite bitter about pregnant people after last mc)and wish you all the best - you all sound lovely. If any of you can spare a moment to cross your fingers at 11:45am on Tuesday I'd be grateful! x x

Yukana · 06/01/2011 22:56

@IfAtFirst
Thank you. :)

@Jenni
Congrats. :) I'll have my first scan soon, still a bit nervous though! I also had the same thing at my 8 week appointment though, blood test, blood pressure, and wee sample.

I've only started to get the constant headache thing since a couple of days ago, for the most part it's just been extremely heavy nausea. You have been lucky there indeed!

@Beaut
I joined up yesterday I believe, lovely site. And congrats to you too, on the new pregnancy.

@Spil
Thank you, nice to be here!

Yukana · 06/01/2011 23:03

Stevo - I can see why you are worried, I can't imagine how horrible it must've been for you. Fingers crossed that everything will be all right. Best of luck!

Cadmum · 07/01/2011 03:06

Thinking of you Stevo...

Slightly worried here too as I still feel nauseated but breasts are no longer tender. The worrying never ends, does it?

I was VERY sick on Monday and ended up vomiting 10 times on Tuesday. I have felt progressively less ill since.

Hope everyone is is maintaining the status quo.

Hello everyone, new to Mumsnet, and in the August club too.

2nd pregnancy, DS will be 2.2 when this one is born. EDD of 11/08/11.

Congratulations to everyone :)

LifeOfKate · 07/01/2011 10:40

Welcome to all the new people, especially if you are new to Mumsnet too, you are in the right place :o

Good luck for next Tuesday, Mrs Stevo, will have my fingers crossed for you. Whereabouts are you in Lincs?

SMummy - not that close to me then, I'm over the other side near the coast, Lincolnshire's a big county!

kathpeak · 07/01/2011 13:56

Hello all,
Another new August due mom here. I'm visiting from Ireland though... I'm a married mother of a 2 1/2 year old daughter and due for another little bundle on the 27th of August (though i went 12 days late with DD so I might drift into September).
My fingers are crossed for anyone here who is worried about MC. Had several of those and I know it's a tough wait to see if all is ok. My early scan isn't until the 17th of this month so I'm pretty nervous with every spot, cramp and twinge myself.
Good luck and good pregnancy to us all,
Kath

KLou111 · 07/01/2011 16:25

Hi all

Not been on here for a week or so. Not had a chance to read everyones new yet.
Been feeling a bit scared and sorry for myself. Had a bit of 'brown' NYE night, then a bit Monday and every 1st wee of the morning since (except today).
My mum demanded I get an early scan particularly as my symptoms had all gone, so I spoke to MW yesterday aft and she got me in this morning. Everything OK, we saw our little one and the little heartbeat!! Have fallen in love! Got a picture and everything. Dated me 8w3d (I knew I was a week earlier than my dates) Will change on stats. MW been to see us this aft to book us, so it's all real now! Grin

Have booked in with MW today.... seconding KLou... all feels real. Just hope it sticks, still terrified of Missed MC. Nuchal Scan date 12 + 4 i think on 24th Jan.

spilttheteaagain · 07/01/2011 17:16

Congrats Klou how wonderful to see your little one.

I had a small streak of blood in CM today. These early weeks are fricking terrifying!

CappuccinoCarrie · 07/01/2011 17:55

Welcome to all the newbies, crikey there's so many of us now!

There's a definite correlation between how much lunch I have an how sick I feel, so I had an extra steak pie at 3pm today, just to be sure Grin. Still feel pretty rough though. Have discovered liquorice is good though, not too sweet and a nice strong taste to take away the horrid taste in my mouth.

8 weeks today, another fortnight til my booking in. This is draaaaaaaaaaaaaging!

KLou111 · 07/01/2011 18:05

lol cappuccino another 2ww!!

Yukana · 07/01/2011 18:18

Peeking into here again today. I'm sure seeing your little one was such a relief Klou!

I must admit I am worried about MC, but there's no history of it in my family and I'm pretty healthy, trying to eat despite having heavy nausea, so I'm not having any problems right now. Still, because this is such a fragile period, I have to agree with Spilt - it is terrifying!

Cappuccino - Suffering from the lovely nausea like I am, hmm? I actually have a few tips. Today I discovered sucking hard boiled sweets (a bit like the ones you put in the car for long journeys etc) helps nausea. Perhaps eating some cold, tummy-friendly yoghurts (by tummy-friendly I mean not chocolate or very strong flavors but things like vanilla instead) like Muller Light also have helped. Yesterday I managed to eat a few pieces of bread with butter and jam in the evening, so thought I'd throw this out there as well.

I haven't tried liquorice yet, but I've heard this one before.

kathpeak · 07/01/2011 18:49

Woo Hoo!
My wonderful DH scooted out today and bought me accupressure wrist bands. I have been horribly sick with morning sickness for a while now, dragging myself around and vanishing at speed at the mere mention of food, and had it badly for 5 months with my DD so I could see no end in sight.
5 minutes after I put them on I started to feel better... 5 minutes! I won't say it is completely gone but I feel human again and I can eat!
If you have bad ms, try them. They are working for me.

Well I've had a very tiring day trying on wedding dresses!! I'm getting married on the 10th December this year (crackers I know!) and need to choose my dress before I'm too bumpy to fit in any. I didn't think important issues when choosing my dress would be how easy it is to undo to BF, etc! OMG, what have I got myself in to??? Confused At least it's taking my mind off waiting to see the MW, etc xxx
