Re the boobs info... mine are ruined! point southwards, stripy but now rejuvenated into norks thanks to this pg... they will be round my hips, and thrown over my shoulers at the end of this pg!

I had a horrid vivid dream last night shaking me from said slumber at 3 am.... DS got washed away by a very angry sea wave... oh just hideous... i dont think i went back to sleep after that... dont mind vivid dreams, but not like that thanks!

Haven't had a chance to fully catch up but welcome to all the new joiners and sorry to hear people's bad news.

We had a lovely holiday in Egypt and I am sporting a rather nice tax which will no doubt fade in record time.

Had my booking in appointment at the hospital yesterday which was all fine and have my 12 week scan next week (friday) so things going ahead quite well it seems.

oh, and for the record, my scan at 8 weeks was internal (but then I have a jelly belly). Funniest thing is the dildocam wears a condom (or in my case a finger of a surgical glove as i am allergic to latex!).

Hi all,

Sorry to hear your news muggle :(

Welcome to the list SMummy, whereabouts in Lincs are you? I'm in Lincs too :o

I had my scan this morning, the baby is fine, what a relief :o (And there is just the one, DH nearly collapsed with the relief Wink) The blood seemed to come from a little pocket that probably appeared when the embryo implanted, so that is good to know :) My EDD has been changed (which I fully expected), so I'm closer to the date I thought I ovulated now at 15th August. I won't update the list until after my 12 week scan though, as she said that one is more accurate for dating so they might change it again yet, although shouldn't be any more than a couple of days.

Hope everyone is well, I bet we are all counting down the days until the knackeredness and sickness wears off, I know I am! :)

LifeOfKate · 06/01/2011 13:22

X-post Hersetta, I had an external scan which was a great relief as I have not had any time to do any 'grooming' if you know what I mean :o Blush I think if the sonographer had had to see, she would have been looking for a baby gorilla in there rather than a baby human Wink

neverlookback · 06/01/2011 13:36

hi ive got my booking appointment next week but i cant remember do i take a urine sample to this? hate having to try and wee on demand!!! ???

Hersetta · 06/01/2011 13:48

I had to give a sample - just had a couple of glasses of water in reception as I waited and was fine to produce a small sample 40 mins later.

Had lots of blood tests too - my arms are now covered in bruises!

Hi lifeofkate - im scunthorpe. Ive had 2 scans so far 5w6d and 7w4d next one will be my 12 week one and il be seeing a consultant after it.

Firawla · 06/01/2011 14:04

sorry to hear ur bad news muggle :(
kate glad everything went well @ ur scan
hersetta lucky you @ holiday

my nausea has gone alot worse 2day and yesterday, really hoping this 9 weeks peak thing will be the case, i feel crap

MrsVidic · 06/01/2011 15:03

i had my booking in appt this morning. No wee required, i was sure i'd have to provide a sample so i had to go for a wee in the middle of my appt. My mid wife is the same one who looked after me in hospital when i had dd so it was really nice to see her again. however i have quite low blood pressure and have lost more weight. She has said she,s going to test for anemia. Apart from that it was all fine, was in for am hour though.

My booking appointment is on tuesday il be 8w4 then.

LadyGoneGaga · 06/01/2011 16:33

Question for you? How late would you be prepared/happy to go on hols? I know they will carry you til 36 weeks with a Doctors note but I def wouldn't want to go that late. Am thinking about booking a week/10 days in the med somewhere early May. Think I'll be 29 or 30 weeks when we fly back. Want to get a last holiday in while we're still a little family of three and don't want DS to miss out as he loves a hol.

Would most people be happy with travelling then? Hopefully shouldn't have got too bakingly hot yet at that point either.

Firawla · 06/01/2011 16:44

i think it would be okay to travel then? i went in the april when i had ds1 and he was born in june so think that would have been around the similar time, it was all fine.
we will probably try to go somewhere april or may too, will be going to lake district end of june for a wedding but have been meaning to go abroad though because we've not been since that april when expecting our first

Teladi · 06/01/2011 16:48

LadyGoneGaga - I am also thinking of going away around that time, I will be about 28 weeks or so by then. I'm not sure what to expect as this is my first pregnancy so don't want to plan to travel any later than that - mainly because we are taking a short city break and I am worried about being whale-like and thus knackered.

neverlookback · 06/01/2011 16:58

hi i went on hol at 26 weeks with ds it was fine, although did too much walking and spd set in after that! i would go later and will prob this time, i thought it was 34 weeks you could fly upto? but maybe some will carry u till 36? i turn 34 weeks the day schools break up so i was thinking we will either have to take dd out of school early or go on a uk hol at the beginning of school hols but i was really looking forward to a flight without a baby on my knee for once as they both have to have thier own seats now, that relief is gonna be short lived, dont know how ill face a flight with 3 of them!!

Hersetta · 06/01/2011 17:09

I am going to the Maldives towards the end of May when I will be 29 weeks and coming back 2 weeks later. When i was pregnant with DD we went to the Maldives when I was 24 weeks with no problems. Seems like whenever I book I lovely holiday to the Maldives, I get pregnant shortly there after!!

I also flew to Spain when i was 30 weeks - again no issues.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 06/01/2011 17:18

Thanks ladies. I would ideally go a little earlier but I want kids clubs etc to be open so needs to be May unfortunately. Alternative is doing a long haul in Feb or something I guess? But all adds extra pennies which we don't necessarily want to spend right before going on maternity leave!

MrsChemist · 06/01/2011 18:40

One thing you need to consider is that it's difficult getting travel insurance that covers you after 28 weeks. Some won't cover you at all. I think I remember someone saying the post office insurance goes to 36 weeks, but I could be wrong.

Today I experienced a part of pregnancy I had forgotten. The dribbling. Joy.

bettyboo83 · 06/01/2011 18:44

Hi ladies, congrats to all those who have had positive scans. I have my booking appt on Monday and I hope to persuade the midwife to book me in for a scan as I'm not sure of my dates! Not sure whether she'll fall for that one though Wink Due to my ever expanding norks I got measured for a bra in M&S today - it's not wired and is the most comfy and supportive thing I now own! No more painful bouncing boobs! The lady in M&S said they recommend non-wired bras throughout pregnancy as it allows full rib expansion as the bean grows. I don't know if I believe her or not as surely an underwire can't restrict ribs but it's so damn comfy I don't care! Grin xxx
