Any news from batgirl...?
My first pg I went to the doc who looked confused as to why I was there and when he established that we were happy about the baby and not there for an abortion said "don't eat blue cheese, and see the midwife". Subsequent pgs I've just gone straight to making a booking in appt with the midwife and bypassed the GP altogether! I haven't made the call yet this time, they don't like to see you til around 10 weeks at ours, and given as I'm only 5 its very early days.
Similarly we can't afford a private scan, so probably won't see our baby til about 15 weeks I think :(
ekka hooray for someone with the same age kids. We're not nuts....are we?! Grin

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 21/12/2010 09:46

Hello ladies! I am suffering with the lurgy, and had a little scare year re brown cm. Going to go to epu in a couple of days/or leave til after Christmas day to see if I can get seen. Mc last pg 4 months ago @ 12 weeks so very keen for that early scan! But not keen enough to do it before Christmas unless I start with anything worse!!

Private viability scan up here is only about 80 quid I think from memory. 7 weeks today:) fx it sticks x
Waves to allx

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 21/12/2010 09:47

Little scare yesterday not year..... Damn phone :)

Batgirl80 · 21/12/2010 09:56

Sorry I didn't come back on yesterday, it was all a bit much. Went to my appt and it wasn't good news Sad

jennil thanks yes, we have had all the investigations we can have but our PCT won't fund any treatment, they have even closed the waiting list so can't even get on it, so we have to just keep trying the old fashioned way, no money in the bank for private unfortunately.

Thanks for all your thoughts. Enjoy your pregnancies, you are really, really blessed, though I doubt you'll be thinking of that when your head is down the loo Wink !!

bunnyfrance · 21/12/2010 10:00

Great news, ladygonegaga! Good to hear of a scan that's gone well, they're so nerve-wracking aren't they!

I've had good news too in that my breast abscess has been rediagnosed into a "simple" case of mastitis. So no surgery for me, just need to keep taking antiobiotics. Phew, what a relief.

So now I can finally start thinking about this baby - 6+1 weeks today. Have an 8-week scan on 3rd January, can't wait to see if everything's ok.

bunnyfrance · 21/12/2010 10:02

Oh no, so sorry to hear that batgirl

lilacblossom · 21/12/2010 10:07

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. Don't think I will be with you much longer as I've got bleeding. Had a mc before and it's the same pattern, so I'm not optimistic. Got a scan on Thursday, so will update you then. Feeling a bit :(

TerrysNo2 · 21/12/2010 10:09

Sad for your loss batgirl I hope you can enjoy a few drinks at Christmas and that 2011 sees you happy, healthy and pregnant!

bunnyfrance oh, only mastitis!! Wink I hope it gets better soon and isn't too painful. I have my 8 week scan on 7th Jan and I can't wait.

Nix are you going to go for the private scan?

Batgirl, so so sorry honey x thinking of you x
Lilac, thinking of you too xx
Fx it's not the same as before x

Terrys I may be able to get one from epu given my history and yesterday, may just have to bypass gp. If not then I will pay for a private 8 week scan then have the Nhs nuchal at 12 weeks if it's still sticky!

KLou111 · 21/12/2010 10:39

So sorry lilac, fingers crossed your scan shows good news.

Very Envy of all these scans seeing your little bubba''s!! MW said she will call just before she comes for my booking appointment as we're at home, she can fit me in as and when. Said would be 8-10 weeks, I am 7 weeks today. Scan will be booked from there for 12-14 weeks.

spilttheteaagain · 21/12/2010 10:47

I'm so sorry batgirl. I hope your family give you lots of love and support. It's terribly sad Sad

And lilac thinking of you my dear, you must be worried sick. I hope you get good news on Thursday.

LifeOfKate · 21/12/2010 11:22

So sorry it wasn't better news batgirl :(

Thinking of you, Lilac xx

Great news, LadyGG :)

lilacblossom · 21/12/2010 11:26

Thanks everyone for your kind words. And sorry to hear, batgirl, that you didn't have good news.
Hope everyone else is feeling OK.xx

spilttheteaagain · 21/12/2010 11:45

I saw the MW today and had my bloods taken (super early I know at 5+2) but I'm a bit of a problem customer for them this time round and need checking up on!

I got given the notes to complete ready for booking in and there is a new section headed "Miscarriages". I don't want to put my daughter there, but she was only 20 weeks so technically that is what happened.

Then there's the "previous births" section which includes "Birth weight" "Wellbeing" "where now ??". 45 grams. Born still. Cemetery. It's horrible. I am trying to keep my calm head on and have completed the bits like induced labour, VB, normal third stage, intact perineum. But Sad

Hersetta · 21/12/2010 11:53

So sorry to hear your news batgirl - life is too cruel sometimes.

Thinking of you as well lilac.

I went for my private scan this morning at the Fetal medicine Centre in London and am pleased to report that our bean is doing well and has a nice strong heartbeat.DH couldn't go with me but they even give you a dvd of the scan so he can see it later. Can now enjoy our holiday on Thursday (if our flight makes it out). I hope to god we can get away as we are having a new kitchen fitted and the old one was ripped out yesterday so won't be able to cook a proper christmas dinner at all.... microwave meals all the way for us at the moment!

So sorry for you Batgirl.

LadyGoneGaga · 21/12/2010 14:20

I'm so sorry, Batgirl. I was in that position in September, it really is devastating. But you may well find you are more fertile after this. I really hope that is the case. Take care x

Thinking of you, Lilac. I really hope things are ok.

Nix - when will you know if you can get a scan? Take heart that it is brown stuff, not red.

Spilt replied to this on t'other fred. Horrible though, brings everything back. Once these details are down though at least they will know your history and hopefully you shouldn't have to keep on going through it. Hugs.

fel1x · 21/12/2010 14:55

So sorry to hear that you have had bad news Batgirl Sad
and lilac, will be thinking of you on Thursday too. Hope you get good news.

Cant believe its only 4 days till christmas now - is anyone else planning to tell their family at christmas??

santababy2b · 21/12/2010 15:06

Split really feel for you :(

There a few people really having a tough time on here at the moment. Hope everything goes ok with your scan on Thurs Lilac

fel1x I am spending Christmas with my inlaws, will only be 6 weeks, but will be very hard to not be noticed if I'm not drinking. They normally do champagne breakfast on Christmas morning. Going to see what my DH wants to do as if things went wrong he would probably want to talk to them about it anyway.

LadyGoneGaga · 21/12/2010 15:32

We're going to tell family at Christmas, Felix. Part of reason we got a scan. Although DP's brother already knows as he works with DP and DP helpfully put a meeting entitled "Scan" as an Outlook entry which was duly spotted. D'oh.

Also as is second time round I have developed a little bump already and that, combined with the not drinking, would make it a bit obvious. Also SIL is pregnant, two months ahead of me so itching to tell her.

KLou111 · 21/12/2010 15:35

I am desperate to tell the parents Xmas day fel1x but we are having it a home this year on our own. Parents are in Warwickshire, us South West Wales. We decided a long time ago to have it on our own as we were kind of hoping this was our last one :)
However, don't really want to tell the folks and in-laws on the phone especially as this is the first grandchild both sides. We're back for NYE though so we'll tell them all then, will be 8.3 weeks.

Teladi · 21/12/2010 15:42

Thinking of you, batgirl and lilac.

Fel1x, I kind of want to tell our families but it still seems very early to do so. My birthday is in January so I will maybe tell them around then, I will be about 8 weeks by then I think. Like santababy2b, I'm not sure how exactly I'm going to get away with drinking no alcohol - I don't usually drink a lot but not having a glass of wine at all at Christmas time will be very unusual for me!

Ekka · 21/12/2010 16:02

I'm really sorry to hear your news batgirl and I'll be thinking of you on Thursday lilac.

Re: drinking, one of my friends made up an apple juice and water solution to the colour of white wine, put it in an empty wine bottle and filled up her glass with that - which fooled every one (though you do have to be able to go somewhere quiet to fill up the glass!) Alternatively get dp to have sips from both your glasses (downside is that dp gets v pissed v quickly - not good if he needs to drive anywhere!)

sixer10 · 21/12/2010 17:59

Hi everyone,
I got my BFP three weeks ago, but have taken a while to stop skulking around the edges of your party!

I also had some dramatic bleeding 10 days ago (thankfully I had a scan that showed everything was fine, and a heartbeat), which made me hesistant to add myself to the list.
