MrsBB thats such good news really pleased for you.

I am really exhausted today and dreading tonight. I work in a Bar and tonight as JenniL1977 will know is referred to as 'Mad Friday' or 'Black Eye Friday'Shock It the busiest night of they year! I'm not sure if knackered little legs will drag me through Blush. As for the black eyes, go ahead peeps I'm not breaking up any fights tonight, will be straight on the phone to police Grin.

Firawla · 17/12/2010 13:00

I'm an august birthday too, 15th which is not far off when I'm due but I went so overdue with my others that I'm just expecting to go over again, and hopefully miss my bday, as I would rather not share really because the day would probably end up being only about the child's birthday so wouldn't get much chance for "its my birthday so im gonna put my feet up and relax" type thing

northeastmummy · 17/12/2010 13:19

Mad Friday in the far north too Xmas Smile but I expect it's not going to be very mad as most people aren't moving with all the snow we had overnight. Saying that, I'm sure there'll be a few mad people out with hardly any clothes on!

RugbyWidow7 · 17/12/2010 13:39

Argh, Grownupslikequiet, that's great to hear. It's so lovely to have a thread of ladies to share this all with and actually talk about it, as DH away and obvs can't tell anyone for ages yet.

Hi Terrys and Northeast - great to see you!

I'm feeling sooo much better today Xmas Smile. I felt like I'd been hit by a bus yesterday and could barely string two sentences together.

I went to the GP yesterday for confirmation, but she said they don't do blood tests anymore as the HPTs are so reliable. Totally diff experience to you Lifeofkate.

I can't make a MW app as we're moving next week and will be in a different part of the country so have to register with new docs. Will prob not be able to do this until after Xmas now which is a shame, but lots to look forward to in the NY!

Xmas Grin
sisterT · 17/12/2010 13:43

Afternoon all! Sorted GP and booking appts today - it all seems a bit surreal, but in a good way! My tummy seems to have popped out overnight so I think I'll be doing some furtive shopping this weekend too, cant face the thought of trying to find something half decent in the January sales Xmas Smile

IamMrsJones · 17/12/2010 14:18

Hi,

Can I tentatively join you ladies please? I got a BFP on my birthday on 15th although not entirely sure when AF was due as I had a miscarriage in October and have only had a slight AF since.

Looking forward to the next 8 months and have everything crossed that it'll go well for us all.

Also my BF got her BFP the day after me so we will be hopefully having babies a day apart. Hw fab is that? I have sent her over the link to you lovely August ladies in thehope that she will come and join us too.

IamMrsJones · 17/12/2010 14:19

Oh I forgot to add, this will be DC4 and I think I will be due 22nd.

bunnyfrance · 17/12/2010 14:22

Hi everyone,

Have been following everyone's updates over the last few days. I'm posting again myself, as I need to give this baby some mind space...I'm busy fighting a breast abscess Sad and have to wean DS1 because of this. I feel sorry for this DC2 who's already being exposed to antibiotics and possibly a general anaesthetic in the next few weeks!

Nice to hear some of us are already showing! I'll be 6 weeks on Sunday, but nothing to show for it yet, except some queasiness in the morning.

Good luck all!

TerrysNo2 · 17/12/2010 14:29

Hello all!

pinkclouds did you say you are in Cumbria? Whereabouts? I have also heard of Mad Friday as DH is from Cumbria, we are heading up there on Thursday for Christmas. Sounds like you will be busy tonight!

Someone at my toddler group today asked if I was PG!! She said my tummy looked bigger than usual! I didn't take offence as she was only asking (and she is very nice) but I can't believe I would be showing yet - only 5 weeks tomorrow!

MrsBB your scan sounds good, you must be so relieved!

Welcome MrsJones - the more the merrier! Smile

RugbyWidow7 · 17/12/2010 15:07

oh Bunny I'm sorry to hear that. What an awful thing for you, and your babies, to have to go through. Good to see you hear though. Remember, you have something wonderful to look forward to!

CappuccinoCarrie · 17/12/2010 15:25

Hi can I please join you?
I am pg with #3 after a year of ttc. We have 3yo DD and 2yo DS. Last week I was due to have investigative surgery for endometriosis, but did a pg test 'just in case' in the morning and was in total Shock when it turned positive! So I got to escape surgery and will have the baby we've dreamed of for so long Grin I'm 5 weeks today and it seems to have taken forever even to get to this stage. I def have (tmi) sore nips, and I'm sure my tummy is swelling a bit but maybe that's all the cake I've been eating Blush
Ours docs won't let us book in until about 10 or 11 weeks, which meant with my last two that I had my dating scans at 15 and 16 weeks respectively, so I suspect I'm in for a looooooooong wait til I get to see our little babyccino.
I'll attempt to add myself to the list:

Welcome CappuccinoCarrie - what a lovely story!

vikm · 17/12/2010 16:18

Hi,
Due 11 August - totally terrified at the moment. I had a miscarriage in may & have had very light spotting and some cramp over the last few days. Read lots and it seems it can be totally fine or the worst possible news. my husband is absolutely convinced it's fine and totally different to last time but i'm so worried. have to wait until wednesday for a scan. torture waiting.

CappuccinoCarrie · 17/12/2010 16:27

Thanks for the welcome northeastmummy - whereabouts NE are you...? I'm in York :)

IamMrsJones · 17/12/2010 17:33

Obviously not the 222 of Aug, sorry I'm a bit of a dope!!

coastgirl · 17/12/2010 17:37

I've definitely grown a bit of a tummy at 5+6! Don't know if it's noticable to anyone else but I can see it. I'm quite slim which might make the difference - although if I keep eating like I have been I'll be growing an even bigger one (just demolished fish, chips and mushy peas and a cream doughnut at 5.30 because I was so starving Blush). I am hungry all. the. time.

KLou111 · 17/12/2010 18:10

Wow, logged off yesterday afternoon, and a lot to catch up on this evening!!

We're filling up which is absolutely fantastic!! Congrats to you all!

MrsBB so glad your news has been good, at least your mind can now rest, and very Envy you got to see your little one so soon!

mrsred · 17/12/2010 19:33

Hi all,
I'm sorry i'm a bit behind and catching up from page 12!

Hersetta - I too have booked a private scan for 24th dec, we thought if all ok we can mention pg to our parents over Christmas period, hadn't considered what we would do if not such good news? (must think things through more!)

There seen to be so many birthdays in August, I'm due on the 10th, which is my husbands, my father in law's is the 13th, my sister the 15th and my neice the 18th. must have been quite a lot of cold novembers to get that many in one month!

As for expanding tummies, Coastgirl, I too am always hungry, but that isn't a pregnancy thing. I'm not slim like you, 12/14, but have been feeling very bloated on some days, seems to come and go, I'm trying to eat healthily, and this week so far has been good. sadly I resorted to chip shop chips tonight, as didn't have anything carb related at home, had fish fingers too! (lazy cooking tonight!)

i'm amazed at how many people are on this thread!

wheresmytractor · 17/12/2010 20:08

Crikey!! I only went away for a day or two! Glad to see the thread is filling up. littlemiss yes we do seem to have alot in common, what do you teach? Where are you based?

I've had a rotten couple of days, my youngest son spent last night in hospital with wheezing and respiratory distress and possible chest infection Sad. Poor little mite. So i've had virtually no sleep and am feeling a bit nauseous now but not chucking so thats good. Anyway we are home now, and my little one is on the mend Xmas Smile

Anyone else got tingly nipples? (TMI sorry) I didn't get this with my first 2 atall, its like they are constantly sensitive. And dry skin on hands? Is this a symptom or the weather? Mine are so dry ever since I tested positive. Also anyone got any strong feelings as to the gender? I have a strong feeling its a girl, am only thinking of girls names and call it she already (in my head - hardly anyone knows in RL yet) With my boys it was the other way around, only boys names. Weird. Time will tell I guess!

I'm off to bed soon I am knackered! x x x

Batgirl80 · 17/12/2010 20:27

Hello ladies, I'm just dropping in to say hello. I'm not going to add myself to the list yet until I feel a little more sure of this pg but thought I'd say hi and once I let myself believe this is going to really happen then I will add myself on, hope thats ok I don't know what the etiquette is.

My EDD is 19/08 which makes me due date buddies with CappuccinoCarrie and Fel1x - hello! Wink

Carrie I know what you mean about dreaming about it for so long, have you let yourself really believe it yet? We've been trying for over 3 1/2 years so it seems really hard to accept the good news, crazy isn't it?? You'd think I'd be skipping with joy but actually I'm just terrified!

Hello all. Can I join in too? It'll take me a while to catch up with all the post though! Am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, this is pg#1, EDD 22/08/2011 (but date is a bit fuzzy for now!) I only found out a week ago, took a pregnancy test before a boozy family weekend away just in case and was shocked to find out I was pg! We started trying in Feb, when I came of depo provera but periods hadn't settled down and didn't think anything was happening yet.

Since last Friday I've had a bit of bleeding and pain, so ended up admitted to hospital yesterday for observation in case of possible ectopic pregnancy after early ultrasound saw an ovarian cyst and was unclear. But hormone levels had tripled in last blood test so they let me out again! I have to go back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks.

I'm a bit all over the place right now, I want this baby but it's all a bit sudden and don't know what'll happen. Fingers crossed though.

Oh, and feel like I've got a virus/chest infection too which isn't helping!

Hello to all, and I'll try to catch up with all the other posts!

Helen xx
