JenniL1977 · 16/12/2010 13:17

Ah Hersetta you are v wise.

They didn't ask, I forgot to tell them that there's no way on this earth I'm going to any hospital in Leeds.
However, if it's twins they won't let me go anywhere else... I'll wait for the scan next week then see what's happening.

Off to eat my 6th satsuma of the day. And I've done no work still. Damnit!

RugbyWidow7 · 16/12/2010 14:41

Hello everyone - may I join you please? I got a BFP yesterday. I did two FR tests and then saw GP this morning and went to buy a CB Digital, which came up with preg 1-2 weeks. So think I'm about 4 weeks - due 23/24 August.

Very very excited but utterly exhausted.

I recognise a lot of names from the August bus - hope everything is going well for you ladies. I'll read back to catch up on your news.

Just off to catch some zzzzzzs.

KLou111 · 16/12/2010 14:49

Hi newbies, welcome to the thread that has had the BEST Xmas present ever Xmas Grin

MW called earlier, trying to see me in between Xmas and New Year, if not, early Jan. Scan will be booked from there.

How exciting some of you have your scan dates, can't wait to see the little one!!

Firawla · 16/12/2010 14:49

congrats rugby widow and other new ppl in the thread

i got my scan date letter today, for 26th jan, looking forward to it its so nice to see them on scan and hopefully everything will be okay

fel1x · 16/12/2010 19:16

Congrats Rugbywidow! Really pleased for you.

I had a call from the midwife today and have arranged my booking in appt for Jan 5th.
Its the same midwife I had with DS2 all through my pregnancy and she is lovely. She has already offered to do the booking in at my house to save DS2 getting bored at the surgery. Smile

Both my DCs have had a mega over tired tantrummy day today. Have been having a bit of a 'what have I done?!' moment Confused How on earth willl I manage with THREE of them eek
Will have to get much more organised in the next 8 months!!!

MrsBB1982 · 16/12/2010 20:13

Good news - I'm still on the August bus. Saw Bumpy today - good heart beat and right size for dates Xmas Grin
Thanks everyone for their words of support - it's been a rough 6 days waiting for this scan.

spilttheteaagain · 16/12/2010 20:23

Fantastic MrsBB Grin

Firawla · 16/12/2010 20:48

great news mrs bb!

ohanotherone · 16/12/2010 20:53

Great news MrsBB!

foundinhongkong · 16/12/2010 20:55

That's great news MrsBB :O

I phoned my GP's yesterday to have a chat with the resident nurse as I've been on shed loads of antibiotics for recurrent UTI's recently. Nothing to worry about apparently, but I suppose I should try and book in the the MW soonish. I love that some of you have your 12 week scan dates confirmed already!

Fel1x must be tantrums in the air today, mine have been exactly the same, urgh. So looking forward to the xmas break, really I am....

fel1x · 16/12/2010 21:00

Lovely news MrsBB Smile

northeastmummy · 16/12/2010 21:06

Oh that's brilliant news MrsBB. You must be so relieved - for now anyway. If you're anything like me, you'll start wondering and worrying again before long. I think it's all part and parcel of this whole experience!

Hey there RugbyWidow7 - lovely to see you over here.

I've had such a mixed day. Lots of Christmassy things going on at work which was lovely ... and great news from a close friend who's due about the same time as me. She lost her baby earlier this year when he was only a week old. She had an early scan today and all is well! But then ... I got stuck at work. It snowed heavily during the day, then the roads around my office became gridlocked. I eventually left at the back of 6pm and got home at just before 8pm.

But you know, I'm actually more glad that it's snowing (hopefully for Christmas) than I am annoyed about getting stuck Xmas Smile.

foundinhk - I'm SO excited about this baby ... but like you, have moments of "what on earth am I doing"!! But then when I got the news today that my DH's best friends baby had arrived, I felt all warm and fuzzy at the thought of them meeting their wee toot ... and I knew for sure ... this is the right thing.

MrsBB1982 · 16/12/2010 21:14

Thanks everyone. My 12 week scan also turned up in the post today - 28th January.
DH cycled like a maniac after his night shift but just missed the scan. The ultrasonographer popped out twice during the scan to see if he was around, which was very sweet. They gave me a picture though so I could show him.
Made it seem much more real seeing the little heartbeat
Grin

GrownupsLikeQuiet · 16/12/2010 21:17

Great news MrsBB. Hello Ruby I think we are due on the same day. I got my BFP yesterday and I'm in total shock! We've all been ill and I was sure we had missed the boat for this month, and I was quite looking forward to not being sober at Christmas Xmas Grin!!

This is my third too, I have a DD age 5 and a DS age 2.8 and am also wondering what I've let myself in for, but I'm really excited too Xmas Smile.

Not sure whether to contact the MW next week or to wait until after Christmas now... will have to ponder I think

sisterT · 16/12/2010 21:46

Hi there! Is there room on the bus for one more? I got my BFP today and I think am due the 12th August. This will be my 2nd; DS is an August baby too and will be 2yrs. I'm 43 and the paranoia is already settling in!!! Hoping to get a GP appt tomorrow and take it from there.

LadyGoneGaga · 16/12/2010 21:56

Fab news, MrsBB.

Welcome, SisterT - you're due on my birthday!

MrsBB1982 · 16/12/2010 21:59

Probably need a double decker for all of us - purely a comment on sheer numbers rather that expanding waistlines!!

TerrysNo2 · 16/12/2010 22:07

Hello all. Welcome to newbies and their fantastic BFP's! Especially nice to see RugbyWidow after stalking the August bus! Smile

I am a bit Sad today as had a crappy day so decided to do a CB Digi test and it still said 1-2 weeks but I thought it would say 2-3 as the last one I took was a week ago. I hope its just being silly! I don't really have any symptoms yet eiher Envy

MrsBB did you already have a scan then? That's exciting! I want to have one on 8th Jan but need to book it. It seems like AGES away though!

MrsBB1982 · 16/12/2010 22:19

Terrys I've been bleeding for 6 days so it was an early pregnancy scan. Next scan is 28th Jan.
Wouldn't worry about the CB test - mine did the same but baby is absolutely fine and a good size apparently.
Might be that your urine was more dilute when you tested today

Waverley82 · 16/12/2010 22:47

That's great news MrsBB, yay!

Quick question - I have my scan date for 10 jan, which if I used the date of my last period would be exactly 12 weeks. But, pretty sure I ovulated late (as that's how we've ended up knocked up...) and the early scan I had at the EPU confirmed that I was only 5 weeks when I had previously thought I was 6.

So... That means I will only be 11 weeks when I go for my scan, perhaps even a few days short of that. Really keen to go on the 10th but wondering if that's stupid in case there is anything they wont be able to check etc (being a week short as it were). Any thoughts? Should I try and delay it or just go with it and if I need to go back a few weeks later I presumably can?

Firawla · 17/12/2010 08:33

it should be fine, if there is anything they couldn't see they would just give you another appointment to come back again?

northeastmummy · 17/12/2010 09:43

It's just a dating scan at Waverley82 - they don't check much other than it all looks viable. When I went for my 12 week scan with DD1 I was only 9.5 weeks!! The worst thing was I had to go back and do those 2.5 weeks again!!!

Morning sisterT. Lovely news! One of my friends had her first baby when she was 43 - I think it's quite common now don't you? It is a worry though. I'm 38 and probably have similar concerns to you.

You're also due on MY birthday too! I was thinking it was funny that I could potentially share my birthday with my new DC, but now it seems there are lots of people to share it with. It's a good day to be born LadyGoneGaGa Xmas Smile.

harassedinhertinselpants · 17/12/2010 10:20

sisterT - I'm an "older" mum too, I'm 40. Although this is number 4 for me! I've done it always now (older and young) as my lot are 21, 19 & 4 Xmas Grin. I was classed as an older mother at 35 - must flaming geriatric this time lol.

Terrys - stop testing, you're driving yourself nuts! Have you been to docs or spoken to mw? They wouldn't want you worrying like this, so talk to them.

Not much to report here. Bit of tiredness, bit of sickness......flipping HUGE belly! I don't know how the hell I'm going to keep this secret for another 6 weeks, especially at work Hmm. Still going to the gym, but have had a rework of my program so it's prg friendly.

northeastmummy · 17/12/2010 10:26

I'm the same harassed. I'm sure people are looking at me thinking I'm getting really fat. I won't tell work until I've had my first scan and I don't see the midwife till next week so it might be later than 12 weeks. Ah well ... nothing I can do about it. Am going to try and get to some cheap clothes shops this weekend to see if I can find some tummy disgusing stuff!

Every now and again I get this huge flutter of excitement ... a new baby!!!!!!!

LifeOfKate · 17/12/2010 10:29

Great news, MrsBB :)

Funny about the birthdays, mine is 18th August, so a couple of you are due on my birthday too :o I'm really hoping mine doesn't arrive on my birthday, I have no desire to be in labour on my birthday :o

I had my blood test at the GP to confirm the pregnancy, and asked the nurse if this was a new requirement. She looked surprised and said they only normally do a blood test when the patient requests one, so she would look into it with the receptionist Confused Anyway, I have to ring back for the results on Monday (Hmm) and then I will be 'allowed' to book my first appt with the midwife, which should be on 10th Jan :)
