littlemisslozza · 15/12/2010 18:01

jenni and mrsB will be thinking of you both tomorrow, hope all is well.

Yes, pinkclouds, I think it does go to show that each pg is different, and gender doesn't necessarily make it different as lots of people like to tell you when you're pg. I was a lot smaller with DS2 until the last couple of months, felt less sick, less tired (despite DS1!) but same gender as before. SO many old wives tales around aren't there?!

Nelly09 · 15/12/2010 18:26

hi everyone

i'd like to join too! i am due around 9th August and it is my 2nd pregnancy. I have a dd who is 18 months old and we live in London.
Am very excited with the news but a little paranoid at the moment and hoping all goes well...

Thanks and sticky dust to everyone :)

JenniL1977 · 15/12/2010 18:39

Ah, you ladies are all v nice. I have seen doctor this morning and she says if she had to call it she'd say not ectopic and the pains are probably due to the fact that I'm v small and have nice firm tummy. Not to brag Wink - and not for long.
Scan next week to make sure.
Might be twins as I had two eggs when my IUI was done - where do the multiple mummies hang out round here?

Still handing out sticky dust round here if you all want to come over for a cup. I make good cakes :)

JenniL1977 · 15/12/2010 18:42

Oh, btw bettyboo can I add Leeds to my listing?

Would also like to know where Pinkclouds is from - I'm from Cumbria originally too.

fel1x · 15/12/2010 18:56

Jenni - glad your Dr was positive about all being well Smile
Good luck for the scan next week - I wonder if they will be able to see if its twins so early on?! How exciting!!

MrsBB - will be thinking of you tomorrow for your scan.

Am attempting to update stats - sorry in advance if it all comes out a bit wonky!!

Evening all and welcome newcomers.

I am considering lying to my MW about dates. I am certain of my ovulation and hence conception dates, so I might pretend that it was day 14 and that I have a 28 day cycle so that they agree my EDD. Last time they insisted my baby was due 1 week earlier than I had calculated which was balls and I was really nervous about being pushed towards an induction at just 41 weeks. I have til Tues to decide!

foundinhongkong · 15/12/2010 20:27

Hello ladies,

tentatively joining, although early days yet. Still rather in shock to be expecting baby number 3! I don't think it has entirely sunk in yet but never mind, I'll get there.

Just adding my stats:

Foundinhongkong: 28 yrs pg#3 (DS1 6 DS2 1.7) EDD 21/08/11 South London (not found in Hong Kong these days, sad times)

northeastmummy · 15/12/2010 20:28

Do it spilttheteaagain! I found myself in that situation too last time round and was so frustrated. I was on the verge of writing letters and going to see my midwife to plead with her to give me longer ... then I went into labour and all was well. But I really don't want that to happen again. I was induced with DD1 and don't want to have that again unless I really have to.

Hello there mizzannie, JenniL1977 and Nelly09. Come in! Put your feet up! Tea?

Boobs. Thankfully my bras had a bit of room aavailable but all my clothes are tight and I'm considering buying a few bigger size clothes for the next month or so, and for the way back down again. I'm really paranoid that people are looking at me and wondering why I'm getting so fat!

coastgirl · 15/12/2010 20:35

I'm starting to spill out of my bras - not helped by the fact I'm normally in a really small size! My nipples are also about three times longer. I couldn't believe it when I saw them! (or, indeed, that I am willing to divulge this on the internet Grin)

I just got an Amazon delivery of pregnancy books and the two I bought for me look pretty good. I got The Bloke's Guide to Pregnancy for DH, though, and he hates it, because it assumes all men are totally reluctant to have kids and have basically been talked or tricked into it by their devious womenfolk. Not the case here - he's always been keener than me and he's a bit offended by the "duh, stupid men" stereotyping.

coastgirl · 15/12/2010 20:36

And hi to the newbies! People are going to have to shift up on their seats to make room for all our new joiners.

northeastmummy · 15/12/2010 20:42
foundinhongkong · 15/12/2010 20:56

I'm well thank you!

Only sad as this time last year I was having a fab time living it up in HK, now I'm in grey miserable in Croydon. Everything else is fab though. Just slightly freaked out to be unexpectedly expecting no.3 - tis a good freaked out though!

I can't believe how early I'm getting symptoms this time around, How about you guys with something to compare it to? I suffered awful morning sickness (morning sickness, ha! More like all day epic misery!) with both previous pregnancies but the nausea didn't even hit until at least week 7. Week 4 and I'm already getting queasy. Confused

Also having two of the same gender I know (fingers crossed that everything goes well) as soon as everyone gets wind of the new impending foundinhongkong baby I will be under tremendous pressure to produce a girl. I'm seriously happy either way, as long as its human I'm really not bothered/ end hormone induced mini-rant.

On a happier note, can't wait to get to know you all better!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 15/12/2010 21:03

Helloo

Great to hear of expanding boobs and the odd heartbeat, and of course the expanding waistlines... do we think we will have any multiples then? Xmas Grin

spilt take your chart with you, they cant argue with that. I will tomorrow when i book in.... 6+2... Terrified!

Anyone else on mega knicker watch? Lots of very excited ladies in here which is fab... am i the only terrified one? (mc pg 2 in aug)

Scary m6 boobs are back.... just need to grow....!! would like proper norks rather than bee stings!

spilttheteaagain · 15/12/2010 21:05

Thanks northeast that's exactly what I'm hoping to avoid, because once they have a date they won't darn well change their minds!

foundinHK welcome and congrats. I am 4+3 today and counting every non queasy day as a blessed relief. Last time the sickness hit big style at 5-5.5 weeks and I felt ghastly all day every day for ages and I lost about half a stone in 3 weeks. I am doing my best to put on a few pounds this week in preparation Grin

Suddenly the knackeredness has started though. I have just got into bed after sleeping on the sofa from 8pm until a few minutes ago. Shattered!!

wheresmytractor · 15/12/2010 22:14

Hi Ladies!

Hello to all the newbies foundinHK welcome, you are not the only one who is freaked out (in a good way too) I am too and expecting number 3. Plus I have 2 sons and am expecting the pressure to produce a girl. Funnily enough, I don't really care, but my husband would love a daughter and I just hope he won't be too disapointed if our 3rd son is on his way!

Starting to feel a bit queasy and am wondering if its the horrible bug or morning sickness beginning to kick in. Work tomorrow (I teach) and i wonder how I am going to cope with 30 hyper Year 5's Confused

Big waves to everyone x x

foundinhongkong · 15/12/2010 22:37

Thanks for the welcome :)

WMT: 30 hyper year 5's - crikey. Hope they're on best behaviour for you! Just think, soon it will be the xmas hols, hurrah!

I really must crawl into bed, I'm amazed I'm still awake. Hello constant, stupefying fatigue - I haven't missed you!

Cadmum · 15/12/2010 23:36

Hello and welcome to the new expectant mums.

I have been known to lie about date of LMP when I knew the conception date. Sometimes a white lie is necessary because of the petty rules that state that anyone dealing with a pregnant woman must not believe anything she has to say...Smile Midwives and consultants alike prefer to refer to your notes so they may as well start out as accurately as possible.

I can confirm that the all-day-epic-agony thanks foundinhongkong*) is my preferred method of morning sickness. I very rarely make it past 7 weeks before people start asking if I am OK. I tend to tell people early rather than letting them think I have something terminal.

We have guests descending upon us this morning for two weeks and I am trying to imagine how I will cope. My original plan was to keep quiet but I suspect that they will start to wonder why I am exhausted, green with nausea and not joining them in the odd drink...

Not sure I will find much time to post. Happy Christmas everyone!

littlemisslozza · 16/12/2010 07:31

Oh dearcadmum, two weeks of guests is a long time, I hope you don't feel too poorly as well.

Hi foundinhongkong, I too have two DSs and am expecting number 3. Am also expecting lots of comments about trying for a girl, I know people are only making small talk but it gets a bit boring after a while, it certainly did with DS2! We will be delighted with either as well.

wheresmytractor I am also a teacher, but secondary school, we seem to have quite a lot in common! Good luck with the overexcited children.

Hersetta · 16/12/2010 10:29

Got my 12 week Scan date through yesterday - jan 14th, so not too far away.

Have my private scan next week. I pray it's good news as I'm not sure how it would effect our holiday. We go to Egypt for Chritmas 2 days later so am unsure if I would need to go into hospital if nothing is found.

OP posts:
pinkclouds · 16/12/2010 10:44

Hersetta Same day as my 12 week scan. Good luck for your private scan next week.

Hello to everyone new. Its getting pretty busy on this August thread.Smile

I am sat looking at the snow beginning to fall and it look like its going to be VERY heavy!!! Been debating the Flu Jab but heavily pregnant women seem to be at more risk. Still I phoned the Midwife to discuss it.

JenniL1977 Will be interested to see if Twins are on the way for you. Where are you from originally? Do you miss the Lovely Cumbria Hmm.

Hersetta · 16/12/2010 10:52

Good luck to you too Pinkclouds.

Luckily, I've already had my flu jab. i had it about a month before I got pregnant so that was well timed - we get offered them free at work so have had one every year.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 16/12/2010 12:08

Snap hersetta I had my flu jab about a month before too which I am very happy about. It means no worrying about having it in pregnancy, but in theory me and bump are protected.

Anyone else starting to eat weirdly? I NEEEED roast potatoes so I have a whole tray in the oven for lunch. Probably with apple sauce and gravy! I was like this last time in the early days - loads of animal fat and spuds.

POAS again today (after 2 whole days of restraint for which I am most proud!) and my line is now lovely and dark. V.pleased. 18DPO or 4+4 today Smile

JenniL1977 · 16/12/2010 12:50

Should I get a flu jab? - I usually stay v well protected from these things as I work surrounded by students and seem to have a tolerance to all bugs as they bring them all in from different corners of the country.
Famous last words...

Pinkclouds I'm from just outside Penrith originally. I do miss Cumbria, lots, but DH can't work up there or I'd move back like a shot. As I need him to keep earning his silly freelance wages so I can persuade him I never need to go back to work, moving back's not really an option, damnit.

I'm craving orange foods, what's that about? Satsumas and carrots mostly.
Oh and chips, but I don't think that's a craving, that's a lifetime obsession :)

Got midwife appt 05/01. I'm confused, does this mean they'll make me gove birth in Leeds, or can I still opt to go elsewhere?

Best get back to work - have a lot to do before I break up for Xmas tmoz. Not that I'll do any of it...
TTFN xx

Hersetta · 16/12/2010 13:12

Well done on the test spilttheteaagain. I did the same. I tested using a clear blue digital which came up with pregnant 2-3 weeks, so I waited a whole week then tested again so see if it came up with 3+ weeks, which it did, so I was very pleased.

Jenni is this the local midwife at your drs surgery? When you have your appointment at your drs (whether with a dr or a midwife) you tell them your preferred location to give birth at and they will contact that hospital and arrange for the wheels to be set in motion.
