JenniL1977 · 13/12/2010 21:25

Hi, bit nerve-racking all this!! Got 1st ever bfp
last Thursday after trying for 3 years, 2nd try at IUI. actually fell off the loo when the line went pink!
Due 16/08/11, so am 5wks.
Am really stressing myself out tho, can anyone put my mind at rest? Have no sickness at all, don't feel pregnant, altho obviously I don't know what that feels like(!), but been having pains on right side that wake me up for a week like AF is coming, but more severe- last night I was curled up on bathroom floor with sweat beading out of me. Only lasts 10 mins, but so painful. Thought implantation pains only lasted a couple of days? Worried it's ectopic. No bleeding or spotting tho. Am I just being soft?!

JenniLattin: 33yrs, pg#1, (IUI#2), edd 16/08/11

Firawla · 13/12/2010 22:12

jenniL congrats!! that must be such great news especially after waiting so long. i wouldn't really worry at all about the no sickness etc as it is quite early for a lot symptoms at only 5 weeks, you might get sickness etc later.
I would prob ask your dr about the pains just to put your mind @ rest?
but I really hope everything goes well for you

i just got a call from midwife this evening to make booking apt, seems quite nice of them to phone up and let you chose a convenient time, my previous hosp would have just sent a time and date in the post with no discussion so am quite happy with that, seems quite friendly

littlemisslozza · 13/12/2010 22:14

Wow, lots of messages in the last day, took me a while to catch up!

Hi JenniL and congratulations on your BFP, sounds like it has been a long time coming. I would actually go and see the doctor soon if I were you as severe pain is not normal and you do need to get the small chance it is ectopic ruled out.... sorry not to reassure you. I hope everything is ok though, best to be safe.

northeastmummy when I was expecting DS2 I felt really sick about 2 or 3 days a week and then absolutely fine on the others. It was really weird and to begin with I would worry it was all going wrong if I didn't feel sick that day. It's so hard not to worry in these early weeks isn't it?

Eskarina when I was teaching full time and expecting DS1 I felt nauseous all morning and eating made me feel marginally better. I kept a packet of rich tea biscuits in my cupboard and kept having a nibble every 20 mins or so! Don't think the kids noticed anything but the TA's had me sussed, although they didn't say anything to me until I told them I was pg!

MrsB good luck on Thursday, will be thinking of you.

I have my GP booking appt next Tuesday, am feeling well, although tired and slightly nauseous first thing but nothing bad (yet!). Tiredness is partly down to DS1 waking up a lot at the moment with nightmares about monsters, he went to bed an hour early today as he was shattered too!
I'm eating like food is going out of fashion. Must curb it a bit, but must admit that I do get slightly addicted to chocolate when I'm pg or breast-feeding, have managed to lose the weight afterwards the last two times so won't worry too much.

Right, better go to bed, in addition to DS1's monster nightmares, DS2 has three teeth coming through so I am bound to be up with at least one of them tonight.

JenniL1977 · 13/12/2010 22:34

Thanks ladies- is what I thought :) but nice to have the reassurance (or not) have dr's appt Wednesday and scan at fertility clinic 23/12/10 to make sure- am at risk of ectopic as have tube damage. Whatever happens, at least I know I can get pg now, thought it would never ever happen for us. Good luck everyone for sticky beans :) xx

bettyboo83 · 14/12/2010 11:11

Hi everyone, I got my BFP on Sunday (and another 2 the day after!!) which was a huge but lovely surprise. I'm due 20th August I think so I'm just 4 and a bit weeks. I haven't had any real signs though, boobs ok, etc. I guess it's a bit too early xxx

snowcake · 14/12/2010 11:17

hello all, congratulations!!! this thread has grown quite a lot!

i am pregnant with number 3!! a great surprise given that my youngest just turned 3 months this week. i have a 2 year old, too so i guess i'll be super busy with 3 under 3...

snowcake EDD 10/08/2011

KLou111 · 14/12/2010 11:50

Wow, this thread is filling up!! So nice to see so many Summer babies on the way :)

JenniL so happy for you. Take care of your little bean, I'd ask the docs esp if you have tube probs.

Annie not had any jean probs yet, but I am a 12-14 (smaller waist, big thighs!) and all my jeans are a 14 so I've got a bit of give.

DH just rolled his eyes when I told him I'd need new clothes soon :) Any excuse for new clothes!!

Snowcake you are brave!!

Congrats to the rest with BFP's nice to (cyber) meet you x

pinkclouds · 14/12/2010 12:05

Congrats to everyone Smile Looks like this is going to a very busy thread.

I have booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing her as she delivered my two DS at home, we have a nice relationship.

I have just given in and had a to get a maternity bra already!!! I seem to have grown a cup size and am spilling out from all my normal bras Hmm (attractive)!!!!

Firawla · 14/12/2010 13:03

wow snowcake that will be a small gap between your 2 and 3! but congrats, it should actually be really nice for them to grow up close together
my oldest should be 3.2 when i have 3rd i think, might be able to go to nursery in sept though so then i would be with only 2 of them at home for half the time, so not too different from now. although not sure if it will be a good idea to send him starting nursery in sept after just having a new baby in august, keep changing my mind on it whether it would be better sept or wait til january

Oh my God Annie, I am sooo with you on that one. I cannot believe the wind!! No-one told me to exoect that particular side effect.

Also with Eskarina on the feeling full thing. It is not like me to be off food at all, but I go for ages not feeling hungry at all, then I feel really straving, then full after a small amount. Is that normal?

fel1x · 14/12/2010 19:22

Good luck on Thurs for your scan MrsBB. Will check back in to see how you get on Smile

I have booked Drs appt for next week, so can get referred to the midwife hopefully when I need to see her in Jan sometime.

Question for you all - would you be concerned by this??
I got v faint line BFP last Friday and then on Sat I got a BFP on a cleaarblue digital which said 'pregnant 1-2 weeks'
Have done another test today (as have loads of cheapies and wanted to see if line was darker!) and line is still v faint. Should it not be darker by now seeing as its 4 days after I first got the faint BFP??
Am slightly concerned. I got quite dark lines straight away with DC1 and DC2 so this is new to me....

Firawla · 14/12/2010 19:35

mine was faint for about 4 days too? just keep doing it every day if you have internet cheapies, it should eventually get darker then you can relax and stop testing
did you test later with your other 2?
i tested with this one from exactly when i was due on (well slightly before but only got the feint bfp from the day i was due) my others i only tested when already a week or so late, so the line was way stronger
i wouldn't be too concerned really?

littlemisslozza · 14/12/2010 20:26

Wow snowcake! Will your youngest two be in the same school year?

fel1x try not to read too much into the darkness of the lines, I drove myself demented worrying about exactly that when expecting DS1, I had suffered a mc a couple of months before so was extremely emotional. I even went to the doctor about it (!) worrying that I would mc again. She told me not to read too much into it, and sure enough DS1 arrived several months later Grin

KLou111 · 14/12/2010 20:28

I wouldn't be too concerned fel1x. I did my test and it was slightly faint, ran down to DH, told him I was preggars, we went and did another one (piss pot still on the windowsill!) dipped another one in and very strong positive. Same tests, same wee, different line strengths.

Ditto Eskarina feeling full. Totally have no appetite whatsoever, only been eating as thought I should be really until now. Had a bowl of muesli at lunch time, totally stuffed, however polished off gammon, eggs, chips and baked beans tonight (hard fried eggs of course!!) and ate the lot! Thought I'd better get something in there!

fel1x · 15/12/2010 09:06

Thank you for the reassurance Smile
I am actually feeling fine about it again now. Gave myself stern talking to about not being paranoid! Also did another test this morning and while the line is faint, its a definite line and obviously there, which is stronger than it was last Friday as I was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me as it was so faint then!
Also noticed this morning that my boobs have got bigger already! Put on a less stretchy bra and its def too small. My boobs are huge already and got massive with other pregnancies so am not surprised!
No sickness or any other symptoms yet though. With both DSs I had no sickness at alll, except for a couple of weeks of slightly feeling nauseous each time, so perhaps I will be lucky this time too Smile
DS2's nursery nativity today, off to watch him in a minute Xmas Smile

KLou111 · 15/12/2010 09:57

Tell me about the boob thing fel1x!!! Glad you're feeling a bit better about things.

DH mentioned my boobs were getting bigger a week before got my BFP!!

I only wear a bra when I have to go out lol, and that's only if I think I will be taking my coat off!!

milanomum · 15/12/2010 12:41

hello everyone!
I have a feeling this is going to be a big thread!
I had an early scan yesterday because of the mc in october and I saw the little bean!! Saw the heart fluttering away and even heard the heartbeat - something I hadn't expected at all 'cos I'm only 6 weeks! it was amazing and totally worth the money - now I'm feeling so much more positive that this is going to last.

I'm already bursting out of my bras and am expecting trousers to follow! Have already had to remove belt so I can breathe Shock but hoping that's quite normal for the second child...Wink

pinkclouds · 15/12/2010 14:45

Hi milanomum It must be really nice to have an early scan so reassuring. I tried to get an early one today but have to wait until the 14th Jan Sad.

fel1x I'm glad your feeling better about it.

I had to buy a new bra today, a sports one. I have gone up a cup size already and I'm only 7weeks 5 days according to the midwife today. I did try and say that I ovulate really late in my cycle and I am calculating the 3rd August but she wasn't having it Hmm. (don't know why, other 3 DC have all been 5 days late)

Due to the midwife changing my due date i have updated my stats

I must be the only pregnant woman whose boobs don't get much bigger. Boo! Even when I'm feeding I only go up one cup size, that's no bad thing though.

I didn't show very quickly when expecting DS2, took until about 20 weeks to have an obvious bump, then really grew wuite quickly. Wonder if I'll show earlier this time or not...

pinkclouds · 15/12/2010 15:26

littlemiss I don't normally get any change in boobs but his time seems very different.

When I was having no 3 I showed really quickly (or maybe just hadn't lost weight from the one before Wink).

Think each one is totally different.Smile
