Hello all, have spent most of the day out shopping with my sister!! She has just moved her wedding (supposed to be later in 2011) to the end of March. A bit of a whirlwind romance, vvvvv happy for her but having slight wobbles re baby being late etc but we'll muddle through. Small(ish) wedding, no big reception so actually might be nice, can you tell I'm grasping at straws Grin

Actually in the space of a few hours this afternoon - we got flowergirls outfits (so cute, can't wait to see girls in them), shoes (seemingly the most important thing!!) and her wedding dress Smile

On to a less stressful subject poo!!, yes I am pooing more, not particularly pleasant, our water is still off Angry. I also am having a slight discharge/leakage, keeping an eye on it but think it might just be wee!!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 21:14

Ah dd would love to be a bridesmaid, she was one at ours but only very small do so not the same.We are planning a party in july to make up for our lack of wedding 2 yrs ago,my mate is a drag queen he is going to do the renewal of vows and i have a local dj to play for the evening,it will be so good.Pity you all cant come haha, pil are here, its been so funny. They got pizza and chips instead of the usual gourmet fayre,dh came in and started flapping around offering to cook more food.I have been busy setting the scene for post baby. They have still not stated their intentions, but there was a certain edge to mils voice when i said dd was having 2 days off and she and dh were going to do some bonding as well as visit me and baby at hospital,i also said i was looking forward to coming home to a nice quiet house-how much clearer can i make it?

wigglesrock · 30/12/2010 21:20

Ledkr to be honest I think you are being an absolute saint with your ils. Did they offer a big present for the baby yet, something special for Christmas perhaps Grin I was never a bridesmaid, flower girl etc so should be lovely for dds.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 23:46

wiggles-nothing as yet.Its very weird isnt it.Oh i am far from a saint, believe me especially when ive had a baby. The bedding is still in the dryer cos dh didnt bother to check it had finished and was still wet,i think ive definately shown i am no longer he dutiful dil.Could do without still being awake at this time too had no sleep last night.im sure you lot are sensibly tucked up.Speak tomorrow.

janedoe25 · 31/12/2010 09:28

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 31/12/2010 12:39

Good morning! Well afternoon!

I can't believe it's the last day of the year, I need to haul my arse out of bed and make the most of it! I have been up and had breakfast but came back as I'm feeling a bit bleurgh. Hope I'm not coming down with something, what a great start to the New Year that would be!

2010 seems to have gone so quickly, it's been such a busy year! We've lived in London for a few months and then moved back up North to where we usually live, got married, got pregnant, had a new niece, a few friend's have had babies... I imagine that 2011 will be just as busy! Grin

Janedoe, we got married in Gretna Green with just family. It was lovely! Lovely place and lovely people Smile. DD looked so sweet in her dress! Congratulations for when you get married!

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 31/12/2010 16:15

Have a good new years, everyone. I am lying on the sofa feeling baby wriggle around inside me like she's on amphetemines. We're waiting for our pushchair to be delivered (apparently it's "definately" coming today Xmas Hmm) and then going out to a friend's house in a bit Xmas Smile

JustOneMorePlease · 31/12/2010 17:25

Happy new year to you all!! New babies will be here very soon, how exciting.

Nothing new here, just loads and loads of Braxton hicks getting my floppy uterus ready I guess.

When people ask when I'm due I reply 'oh not till the end of feb (21st)' and then I realise it will fly by now eeeek.

Take care.XXXXXXX

varicoseveined · 31/12/2010 20:46

Haven't posted in a while, happy new year everyone!

Sorry if this has been brought up in the thread already, but has anyone had the swine flu jab this year? Any side effects?

debka · 31/12/2010 21:17

Happy New Year everyone!

Lets hope the next month whizzes by!

varicoseveined quite a few of us on here have had the flu jab. I had it just before Christmas and my arm was a bit sore for a few days, but fine now, and I feel so much happier having had it.

ledkr · 01/01/2011 08:19

right, update on pils.no capitals as led in bed typing one handed.
not long before they left yesterday i said to mil"well hopefully the spare bed wont need changing until you come next
4 weekends she then said well i was going to take sick from the wednesday till the following monday-this would mean theyd be here when i get home and stay until the end of the weekend.FFS.
i kind of laughed and said "are you joking? im having a section and will need some time before i have anyone staying, you can stay at the weekend but thats only cos you are gps and live away.she just said yes ok but looked put out.i then went onto point out that even family house guests make you feel as if you should have clean beds /bathroom/food in the house etc.which she did aggree with.i feel really relieved.the only thing is that when i told dh he said he had already told her this the previous evening-told you she was manipulative-only worry is sil now who i suspect will try to come with them,i think if that happens i will tackle it at the time either by telling dh im not feeling good or suggest they go to b and b cos 3 extra people is ridiculous.
i am seriously going to book a little break for half term tho cos she has whole week off and i cant bear it,just the days they were here were difficult cos i had bad tummy and kept needing the loo and couldnt use downstairs cos they here and also dh and them were faffing about in the kitchen deciding what to eat and of course i was giving directions as i could hear dh making stupid suggestions, they didnt clear up properly either grrr and fil just stands about shuffling making me feel uncomfortable or talking when im on mn or watching tv.
soeey its long but i thought id fill you in.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 01/01/2011 09:41

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had lovely nights. Smile I was in bed by half ten but kept getting up to go for a wee...

Had mw yesterday and she said the reason I'm having the electric shock pains and grinding feeling is because ds is now in my pelvis. Told her about the leaking and she said it was probably discharge that had been dislodged from him being so low, nice! But I'm to call her if I get more. After measuring over with FH I'm now under but just by 1cm, it really doesn't mean much does it? Wish they told you this before!

ledkr glad you're in bed and well done for telling mil, I think the b&b idea is good if sil decides to come as well. GPs are great but they have to realise it's your baby and your house!!!

ledkr · 01/01/2011 09:50

we are going to need a new thread today i think, better wait for people to wake up first,it is nice not to wake up with a hangover is it not?we went for few drinks at some friends and i had some sparkling rose, got my drinking head on then and felt irritated watching everyone getting drunk:(

40Weeks · 01/01/2011 10:16

Happy new year girls. Taking down the Xmas secs today, booooo hope you are all well xxx

janedoe25 · 01/01/2011 11:28

Happy new year ladies! Hope everyone had a good night! ledkr well done on setting the mil straight!

smallblackflowers · 01/01/2011 12:50

Happy New Year ladies x We're on the home straight now.

ledkr well done for having the chat with your mil - once it's out it's out and will be easier to bring up again in the future if they are overstepping the mark!

smallblackflowers · 01/01/2011 12:53

varicoseveined I had the swine flu jab a fortnight ago, and have been fine. Had a little bit of an achy, itchy arm for a few days, but like debka I'm now just glad that I had it, as I know people left, right and centre that are being knocked out by it. DH is thinking of going and getting it from superdrug / boots too.

hello all, another message from me mid move (or now unpacking). Workmen have left for now, but will return at some point to do some other bits (and we can't properly unpack until they do Confused ).

Happy new year everyone - so we are now in the year when we will have our babies and can now say we are due next month to people who ask (might get a few less 'how massive you are to have so long to go' Shock faces).

wiggles I've been pooing more recently too Blush. I also get a very odd feeling before I need to go (can't really explain and v odd Blush ).

My tummy seems to be growing my the hour over here and belly button is now pushed to stretching point Wink. Lots of tummy shaking movements and I too am getting lots of slightly painful grinding movements from LO, esp when walking.

I'm also soooooo tired - I get up and have a bath and need to sit down for ten mins to get energy to do some unpacking. Manage half an hour or so of unpacking and then need another rest break, and so it goes on and on - anyone else getting it this much? Not sure how much lethargy is normal.

ledkr I really can't believe your PIL - it's like never ending stress for you.

needto glad the possible fluid is OK and nothing to worry about :)

snowangels1 · 01/01/2011 13:43

Oh, and I'm so fed up with flu jab situation - seems flu is everywhere and GP ran out of jabs pre chrimbo. Told me to ring back after christmas and their phones are permenantly on 'we're closed' message. I'm actually avoiding going out much for fear of getting is as I know how ill flu can make you and really don't want it. I also find it slightly ironic that when I do (hopefully) eventually get it I will have to go to the one place all the people ill with flu seem to head (ie GP surgery). If only they could do these types of things in a seperate place to ill people!!

knittamerrykid · 01/01/2011 16:23

varicose I had the flu jab a few weeks ago and had no reaction. If I had had it a week earlier I'd got a cold right the next day and surely would have thought that it was due to to it, but as it was I had to blame the cold on badly educated children who don't use tissues...

angels have you had your iron checked? perhaps it's normal to be so tired but perhaps there is something you can take to help it a bit.

ledkr good on you not taking any from ils, what are they thinking????
A question for you and those planning c-sections. Are your partners going to be there? we are discussing birth plans, and DH feels very unconfortable about being there if I have to have a c-sect. I think he'd faint just from the sounds, not even looking. If I am awake I think I don't mind, but what happens to the baby if I am under general anaesthetic? where do they take him? I know it depends on how he is, but if he's fine?
