jack it sounds like you are doing well, must be hard to see your girls struggling though. Praying they get much better very quickly. I know we are all thinking of you. :) PS did you have a CS or did you have them naturally?

Just realised, everyone, that I haven't had heartburn for about a week!! Do you think this means baby has moved down a bit?

On the downside though, SPD was sooooo bad last night, it was agony turning over, had to do it in 2 with a rest in the middle. Plus was up twice for a wee. Could barely walk today, hope my ref for physio comes through soon.

tadventjennyp · 28/12/2010 21:48

Yes, can't believe we have been on this thread for nearly 8 months now! It has been great. I think lots of us due early Feb are hoping for late January!

Hope your little girls get stronger and stronger jack. So pleased you have managed to feed them and hold them.

Having a much needed sit down after spending the morning with dh looking at DIY stuff. It sounds boring but the dcs were in pre-school and it was so nice to have a morning to ourselves!

ellesbelles79 · 29/12/2010 01:19

Hi all - sorry I have been AWOL for a long while and have been catching up with the thread!

Hope you've all had a fab xmas and what wonderful news for you jack - Im so pleased for you & hope the girls are doing well. How exciting! Smile

Im doing fine but like the rest of you - am just getting fatter & fatter these days! Will be so glad to start my mat leave.

My 18yr old brother bought me loads of books and dvds for xmas so i wont be bored! Very sweet of him xxx

linz17xxx · 29/12/2010 09:48

Congratulations jack. Hope your little twincesses are doing well. I cant believe our babies are starting to make early appearances. I wish mine would lol I've got killer heartburn, breathlessness and now flu to add to the mix! Hope everyone has had a great xmas. X

debka · 29/12/2010 10:40

Momentous day- had to remove my wedding ring. Sad. Is now on a necklace round my neck. Anyone else had to yet? Or am I the only fat fingered one?

wigglesrock · 29/12/2010 11:12

debka haven't had my wedding ring off since being pregnant with dd1 (5 years ago) Grin

Got GP appt this morning re my failing body!!It's funny I don't know this particular GP but as soon as I walked in, she said to me "looks like this one's breech then", she was also able to find the heartbeat in about 2 seconds so very happy. I on the other hand have a virus, she prescribed ointment for the tongue/mouth ulcers so hopefully will start to get some relief!!! She also is the first health professional I've seen to actually recommend the flu jab.

Well still only have water on and off here so at least I still have an excuse not to do any actual cooking!!!

PolkaDotRudolf · 29/12/2010 11:27

debka I too have not worn my wedding / engagement rings since being pregnant with DS over 2 years ago! In fact I am not entirely sure where they are now Blush!! Don't tell DH though!

I went to my last physio appointment today - apparently now I am "too pregnant" to be seen Hmm but at least there's one less reason to go to the hospital!

We are going away for a few days from later today so I might be quiet for a while! There's no mobile reception at the lodge so probably no wi-fi either... DH is working today so he's meeting us there for dinner. I too will not be cooking for a few days Grin but slightly different situation to wiggles!

*Wiggles" funny how those supposedly "in the know" are not recommending it isn't it?! I am actually thinking of going against what my GP has said and getting jabbed...

PolkaDotRudolf · 29/12/2010 11:28

Jack I hope both girls are doing ok today! Have been thinking of you lots and sending lots of positive vibes. Do you live near the hospital? Are you able to stay with them all the time or are there restricted times? Sorry I don't know much about SCBU!

americanexpat · 29/12/2010 11:35

jack - I hope your girls continue to improve and you get to bring them home soon. It must be so difficult to be discharged while they're still in hospital.

I'm still enjoying my pregnancy, even though I feel like a whale. I was gawked at by a group of teenage girls on Monday, I told myself they must be jealous of the lovely baby I'm going to have. Xmas Grin

PinkiePoo · 29/12/2010 13:01

jack thinking of you and your beautiful baby girls....hopefully as every day passes they will just get stronger and stronger.

ledkr I am still teaching tap, and jazz!! Its bloody hard work. I won't be finishing until 2 weeks before due date, which is 26th Feb, and right now i am thinking 'i am mad' because i am soooooooo uncomfortable. Had worst nights sleep ever, ribs painful and just constant aches and pain in belly!!!

Start my first antenatal class next week, actually really excited!! Wonder how long the excitement will last for...

Hope everyone is lots of choccies, its still Christmas, therefore acceptable Wink

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 29/12/2010 16:25

pinkie-i taught sat on a chair at the end it was adults so not as if they were taking exams.I am thinking of doing a tap and ballet class after baby is born to get back in shape, find the gym soo boring.dd had a beautifull dolls pram for xmas so i am also going to have plenty of walks with our babies.I am the most uncomfortable i have ever been.went to dh friends for dinner last night, was quite nice untill the guy started that ridiculous patriarchal ritual of plying dh with as much alcohol as he could.Dh likes a drink but has not drank for so long and i could see him getting pale and ill looking so i gathered up to leave,it was about 11pm.
Cue a night of dh farting and snoring and weeing more than me.grrr.glad hes gone to work today, moaning about his flipping head Grin

debka · 29/12/2010 16:31

Remember the discussions we had about disabled/parent and child parking? Well, went to Asda today and we parked in Expectant Mother parking! Grin DH is now getting some reward for knocking me up!!

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 29/12/2010 18:24

what??? that will cause a few rows in carparks and mumsnet threads!!Ho can you prove it,fat people will be using them or people who claim to be 3 months and not showing. We went to sainsburys and dh couldnt have parked further away if he tried.I felt knackered just getting afew bits and was having bh thick and fast, what a state to get into.MW rang earlier re anti bodies which are all fine btw.I was half hoping she was ringing to say my dates are wrong and i was to go in immediately for induction haha.

PinkiePoo · 29/12/2010 18:50

ledkr sounds like we had similar evenings. Some of my family went to Dorset for Christmas and rented a big cottage so we went to visit them last night and stayed over. DH get very drunk, so i spent the night listening to his snoring and all morning listening to how 'ill' he felt. Er....HELLO!!!

He has made up for it now though....cooked and looked after. GOOD BOY!!!

wigglesrock · 29/12/2010 18:57

Oooh Ledkr you have started a bit of a bunfight in AIBU Grin

I went to GP this morning, parked across the road, got lift up to floor, lift back down etc and completely wrecked me. Have now got to the stage where I have to lie down for about 30 mins at about 3.30pm or I can't do girls dinners, baths etc. Luckily enough our spare room, junk room or as my dds lovingly call it "the playroom" is beside our bedroom, so I can usually lie down for about 30 mins before they start debating fighting over who is better Peppa or Barbie Grin

smallblackflowers · 29/12/2010 19:45

I've not had the chance to catch up with the thread for ages, so have just read jack's news! A big congratulations to you and your DH and all the very best wishes to your little girls.

Merry Christmas to you all too xxx

The sbf household is a poorly one at the moment, and although I feel like I should be the one who is being looked after, I'm nursing a 22 month old with chickenpox and a 34 yr old with man flu.....

I'm also now on maternity leave - yay - really looking forward to next week when DH is back at work and DD is (hopefully) back at nursery so that I can start the nesting (and resting) that I am desperate to do.

Will have a go at posting a bump pic - I am wearing a coat though....

debka · 29/12/2010 21:14

Ooo SBF you look fab! :)
DD looks cute too, mine is 21mo, they don't seem to understand that Mummy doesn't find it so easy to pick them up, do they!

MizK · 29/12/2010 21:16

Hi all, hope you all had good Christmases? Just want to say huge congratulations to jackfrost, welcome to your girls!!!! So happy for you and hope they are home with you soon as possible.

Oooh can't wait til more of us start to have the babies, feels v exciting - love this group!

And also very happy to have officially finished work - whooop! (I realise I just whooped, I promise it won't happen again.... )

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 29/12/2010 22:52

yes wiggles i have started a bun fight i cant believe how horrible other women are about others suffering in pg.I have told them off so will be on fire soon.
Did you feel like that with the others,i pretty much went on as normal with all my others, maybe a bit of thrush or piles but some days i literally feel like im going to die.Pil just rang and announced they are coming to stay tomorrow,i was so enjoying the post xmas chill,dd is happy with her toys and im watching tv and polishing off the chocs,i could scream, the sooner i move to a smaller house the better.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 29/12/2010 22:54

oh yes,is anyone-ahem-pooing a lot?I cant stop going, just had to take codiene for my sore bum it was so bad.sorry for tmi but needed to ask.

tadventjennyp · 30/12/2010 03:53

Sorry ledkr - didn't want that to be the last post for the day! Not really, still need to have coffee or chocolate for me to go!

EauRudolph · 30/12/2010 08:37

Crikey, I missed all the excitement! Many congratulations jack on your two beautiful girls, they sound like they are doing well and I hope they continue growing stronger so you can take them home soon.

Hope everyone else had a good Christmas, was fairly manic here. My SiL also had her baby on Christmas eve and they are doing well. He was a whopper, 10lb 2oz and a week early!

I need to ask an AIBU type question but I'm too scared hormonal to ask there. SiL has used the middle name we were going to use if we have a boy. We picked it months ago and I even checked with SiL to see if we were going to clash on name choices. My first reaction is that it's a middle name so it doesn't matter if we still use it but apparently SiL is 'a bit funny' (my mum's words) about people naming their baby the same thing as hers. AIBU to still use the name if we have a boy? Of course this could all be academic because it might be a girl Grin

ledkr, yes I have been pooing loads Blush

40Weeks · 30/12/2010 09:05

Ahhh JACK well done,I have been catching up the last few days and that brought a tear to my eye! Glad you are all doing well, how lovely.

Hope everyone else had a nice Christmas. Totally with you on the 'heartburn, massive belly, cant get comfy, feel like a whale, kicking in the pelvis not funny, lots of BH' complaints.

DH decided as usual to not take this week off so we are bored stupid at home. The creche is shut so I cant go to the gym, my mum is away, as is my sister and all friends have their DH at home so spending quality time together. Booooo. I need grown up company.

Had a great Christmas though - everyone else did everything for us and the DS' had a great time. Got some lovely gifts too, feel very spoilt. Unfortunately the boredom has led to some online sale shopping binge but needs must.

I wonder who will be next to pop! I hav 8 weeks to go, its going so quickly.

Anyones family get Toy Story 3 for Xmas - has anyone been able to watch it without crying yet?? Love it.

Anyone going out for NYE? We arent, babysitters all absent. My first NYE indoors Shock

xxx

40Weeks · 30/12/2010 09:10

Oooh sorry SBF you look great in your pic, your LO is gorgeous.

Eau I think you are well within your rights to still use the name esp if you checked with her months ago. Tough titties if she is a bit funny. Why should you miss out just because you are a resonable person!

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 30/12/2010 09:17

EauRudolph, I would use it still! You talked to her about it and she still went ahead so why shouldn't you? If it's just the middle name can you get away with not telling her the middle name?

Where's the bunfight? Link please! Wink
