40weeks I'm impressed you would even consider going out, I'm in bed by 9pm most nights now Grin Thanks for your thoughts on the baby naming thing, that's pretty much what I thought. It's nice to know I'm not alone!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/12/2010 09:55

Eau, definitely fine to use your name, especially as she knew about it months ago!

40 the gym???? Very Envy and bit Shock at your energy levels, the only thing I do is a few yoga stretches morning and afternoon whilst looking absolutely ridiculous....

Ledkr I am pooing for england, i asked the mw about it a few weeks ago as I thought pg= constipation but aparently it happens to some women. Still got piles though, how is that fair?

OH is staying at his parents for the time being as he has a really horrible bug, it may well be proper flu and not the man variety. I know I should be missing him and am a bit but having the house to myself just for a few days is bliss, no X box, snoring, cleaning up after him Wink

I don't care about NYE and never have, aim to be in bed with a good film and choccies about 10pm.

Has anyone else noticed their bumps have dropped, I noticed yesterday that it's a lot lower than before.

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 30/12/2010 10:42

Eau it's her who is being unreasonable for using a name when you already agreed about clashes. But I've always thought that middles names don't really matter at all so she can't really mind if you use it too.

In my news, my SPD has come back massively. It went away between about 27 and 30 weeks-ish, and I thought it was gone forever. But on Christmas Day we went for a walk and as soon as I got back I had to lie down and not move for the rest of the day. Since then I haven't been able to walk more than a few steps. I'm back to work next week so I'm just going to have to stay in my classroom all day and do as much teaching as possible sitting down. The pain is now all on the front of my groin and nowhere else, whereas it was more on my back before.

Hope everyone else is OK... I wonder who will be the next to pop...

snowangels1 · 30/12/2010 10:49

Hello all,

Haven't had time to post due to moving house but have been reading (don't have proper online access until some time in jan due to BT being ridiculously slow).

We were planning on officially moving into new place today but ended out there on 28th (DH and his crew got a little over excited with moving everything). Means I'm stuck in a house full of workmen and today the added excitement of woodworm killer fumes :( Have been quite affected by move as it's all so stressful - can't wait to have the house to ourselves with no workmen and everything packed away :)

Hope you're all doing well. Sorry for all those ill or suffering with SPD/illnesses

40Weeks · 30/12/2010 11:10

Hhmm my justification for the gym is that if I didnt go, I wouldnt have the energy to keep up with the 2 and 4 yr old - where do they get their energy from??? I thought it should all be used up with growing! Grrrr. And also dont want to gain the weight I did last time, although am eating like a horse so still feel/look whale like.

Sorry to hear about your SPD Zero just when you thought it had gone. Thats not fair. When do you finish work?

We are all still in our PJ's here....lazy mother I am.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 11:19

oh angels poor you, hope you are settled in really soon.
had a terrible time last night.started having awfull pain around midnight, bit like bad hunger pains just under boobs at top of abdo then also in centre of my back,i was literally screaming and dh didnt know what to do.i didnt want to call hosp as i couldnt talk.i was then sick 4x and it went off, whole thing lasted around an hr.been googling this am and it would seem its gall stones.i knew i had these from a previous scan yrs ago but have never had probs, apparently pg brings it on and high fat diet Blush so i am now on low fat Sad
and debating whether to speak to hosp as the net said if pg woman gets it to the extent they vomit then she should go immediately to hospital. anyone know about this?

40Weeks · 30/12/2010 11:29

Dont know anything about it Ledkr but call the ward number on your notes and get some advice in case it happens again. Poor you

Tarlia · 30/12/2010 11:53

Eau I'd def go ahead with the name, let her be pissy. You even discussed it with her so she doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Zero You poor thing! I hope work isn't too bad and the students are helpful. What do you teach? You've probably said, but I have pregnant fuzz!

40weeks I'm still not dressed Grin.

Ledkr I'd def call the ward and get checked out if necessary. That really doesn't sound nice at all, just what you need with all your other pains :(

Jack how are you and your little ladies doing? I hope they are getting stronger by the day.

I'm still so excited babies are putting in an appearance. Mine will be tufted out soon if it doesn't stop kicking me in the ribs! It feels like it's wiggling it's toes inbetween:/

Is anyone else getting huge amounts of discharge? (sorry tmi I know!) it's making me uncomfortable and sore. I did start wondering how I would know if it was actually fluid, but then dared not think about itHmm I'm not one for calling mw/ward either as I'd feel silly and would hate to go in for something that's totally normal and feel stupid!

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 30/12/2010 12:46

I'm supposed to finish work on Feb 11th because I'm not due till March 6th (my original date based on my LMP was Feb 24th). But that might turn out to be a bit optimistic but I'm quite keen to get my kids through as much work as possible, especially the A Level classes. I'm a secondary science teacher.

Thankfully I'm getting lifts to and from work everyday from DH and colleagues but am going to have to cancel a physio appointment I have because - irony of ironies - I'm in too much pain to walk to it. But I have already had to physio sessions and they've both been quite good and I suspect most of their good work is done and all I can do is continue to do the stretches and exercises she showed me.

ledkr you have been in the wars so much, if I were you I would definitely ring someone.

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 30/12/2010 13:01

I'm not dressed either! DD and Dh have gone out shopping to look for a birthday present for FIL and I'm doing housework but have had to stop for a minute as my hips and legs are hurting.

Tarlia, apparently amniotic fluid has a different, erm, smell. Amniotic fluid smells sweet so if you were to wear a panty liner and sniffed it and it smelled sweet rather than...well wee, then it could be fluid. It's more likely that it's just discharge though - I'm the same and no I haven't been sniffing it Blush I just remember from the ante-natal classes last time!

Ledkr you poor thing! I would definitely get checked out. Let us know how you go!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/12/2010 13:03

ledkr please call your gp, sounds awful and there must be something they can do to help. Thinking of you!

40 you are a star and I bow down to you!

tarlia I'm so pleased you posted that as I've just had a bit of a Shock in the last hour. I went for a wee and noticed that I have been leaking on my pad, it's really pale yellow and when I smelt it (sorry for tmi!) it definitely didn't smell of wee, was a bit sweet smelling (again, sorry or tmi Blush). His head is sort of grinding in my groin (OUCH!) if that makes sense so could well be that he's destroyed my bladder. I'm going to give it a few hours and see but I have mw tomorrow so will tell her then anyway. I haven't had any contractions or anything and feel quite calm. I'm with you in that I don't want to call someone to be told I've wet myself!

zero so sorry it's returned, do you think it's because of the walk? try and rest as much as you can, obviously! do you think you should start ML early?

angels I know you have limited internet but keep in touch by text and try to stay positive, sending you lots of virtual emotional strength!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/12/2010 13:04

Arrgh! wandering just read your post after I'd posted, not so calm now..... My classes haven't started yet...

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 30/12/2010 13:28

Needtosleep don't panic! It's still probably not fluid - wee is sterile at first so probably doesn't really smell. Have another sniff later - sorry that probably sounds so bizarre! If it is a small amount of fluid it can replenish itself. SIL had low fluid throughout her pregnancy and Dniece is fine, born a week late.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 13:31

rang ward and they said its more of a gp problem.I will call if it recurrs.for now am just going ti restrict fat so if anyone has any mega low fat meal ideas id be gratefull for them.Had cereal for b fast and going to eat some soup for lunch.Dil is bringing me some sherbert lemons and some wine gums or else the xmas chocs will torment me.I am also drinking peppermint tea.
Tarlia-is the discharge coloured and smelly? take care you dont have an infection.
pil on their way after my 12 hrs notice.I am fuming with them now.I got no proper food and hosue is post xmas mess and dh not back till late tonight.I had no sleep cos of pain so will be off to bed early regardless.I have left clean bedding for them to put on the bed and they can cook their own fishcake and chips cos thats all i have in.About time they realised im not a 3 star hotel. On the upside as dh is too spineless to do it i will be bringing up the subject of vists post baby and telling them we will be having the first few days without visitors and they can come at the weekend.Every cloud.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/12/2010 13:47

thank you wandering, will save my lovely pad.... Blush I don't feel as if it's anything and everything I've read says that you sort of just 'know' when it's time.

ledkr Good for you letting them do it themselves, they've got a cheek expecting to be able to come anyway. I agree with the no visitor thing, OH and I have told ILs that we won't have any visits the first couple of days as we want to get a bit comfortable with being new parents first.
Hope all goes well with telling them about your plans, you could just tell them then go to bed and let DH deal with their protestations! Wink

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 14:32

do your ils stay over?mine have to due to distance,i could cope with a few hrs but not full on overnight stays-far to intrusive when just given birth.Im a bit nervous and bloody angry that dh cant grow some and tell them himself.

40Weeks · 30/12/2010 15:26

Ledkr my dad and his pRtner came to stay days after ds2 was born and was such hard work, dad didn't even make a cup of tea while he was here. They can stay at my sisters if they come this time! Don't blame you at all for laying down the law but agree it should be a DP job....

Low fat meals, if you can face tuna pasta with swwetcorn and extra light Mayo that's very filling and low fat/high protein. Or a casserole with very little oil to fry onion. Or steak and home made oven chips with Fry Light or smilar spray oil. Or an omelette? Any of that float your boat? Beans on brown toast? Soup is good though.

For some reason I am craving beer!

Tarlia · 30/12/2010 16:39

Thanks, I will keep an eye on it. It does smell "sweet" but then I have no idea what normal discharge smells like.Blush I will keep an eye on it. Am I right in thinking discharge levels increase during pregnancy anyway? It's not thick (sorry!) like thrush. Baby is still dancing away, thank goodness.

needto I hope you're ok. My classes don't start until Thursday, so I'm pretty much in the dark too.

Good luck with the inlaws, ledkr.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 16:55

i have been drinking the bavarian alcohol free beer over xmas its lovely, the cobra isnt tho.I was craving cider the other day.

Tarlia · 30/12/2010 17:08

I'm craving cider too, which is weird as usually only drink wine. We did buy a can 330ml of somersby in the supermarket today which I may have some of NYE. Would that be awful? I've not touched a drop since we started TTC.

ZeroMistletoeZeroTinsel · 30/12/2010 17:10

Chinese-style stir fry with either rice or noodles and things like peppers and mushrooms with the meat as chicken or turkey.

tadventjennyp · 30/12/2010 17:48

Very boring - baked potato with tuna and salad, instead of frying with oil you could start off the veg for a curry for example in an inch of water (carol Vorderman's detox diet does that) and use lean meat and lots of veg?

SemperEadem · 30/12/2010 18:06

Tarlia - I am having the same thing too.

Pale yellow and smells slightly sweet. Thing is, I had this in my pregnancy with DS and was checked out. They did an internal and my cervix was fully closed and when added up all together the amount I was 'passing' was minimal so they sent me home to keep any eye on it. DS was born 2 weeks later all well. I don't know if it is slight waters or discharge?

Worries me somewhat cos once waters have gone then you are supposed to give birth soon after that in case of infection? It seems quite thin for discharge?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 30/12/2010 19:20

Sorry other people are worrying too but glad I'm not alone. It's definitely not discharge, it's watery and very very pale yellow. Will just wait and see what mw says tomorrow.

ledkr luckily my ILs are local so wouldn't stay over, can't imagine having to be a host after giving birth! OH and I have been talking about having an open house for close friends and family a few days after he's born but between a set time, that way we won't have people turning up all day. Might all change if I can't have a home birth (3 more weeks then it's okay!!!!), then at least people can visit in hospital.

Cravings at the moment: lemon and ginger tea, extra strong mints (can't get enough!) and anything with ginger really. Oh and cigarettes but then that never went away, thought it was meant to get easier by now but no!

My classes don't start until 11th Jan, have a feeling I'll be the biggest whale there but they didn't have any other spaces.

ledkrsbellyislikesantas · 30/12/2010 19:33

think you can get alcohol free cider mmmmm.
need to sleep, people ask my cravings and i say wine and cigarettes haha.I have had one or two drinks but bit of a wind up cos would like a few tbh.I used to cook a nice dinner for me and dh once a week with wine,we,d have deep drunken chats and id usually end up having a cig out of the window,dh hates it but was too drunk to care. They were the days eh?Wonder if we will do that again soon.
