ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 16:49

that was a lovely thing to pop in and say hana!!
kangel way to go with your diplomacy on the other xmas baby thread!! personally i think it was unfair that you were singled out on the thread and was a little for you hun!! (unless of course you were arguing on another thread with her.... even still she was a little harsh) anywho dp is gonna be back from work in a mo so im gonna have words with him about his 'wonderful' nan ill pop back later to let you guys know how it went!!
wish me luck!!! (well wish dp luck!!)

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:52

couldn't see any harsh comments tbh, I think everyone was just expressing their viewpoint? I went there looking for a fight, too! Oi, who's dissing kangel! just couldn't see it was personal or that bad?

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 16:53

ohhhh good luck ei - give him hell!!!

Thanks Hana!!

kangel · 20/09/2005 16:58

Good Luck EI!!!! No I wasn't arguing on another thread just the same one as everyone else - I guess I must have stood out more!! You girls are the ones that matter to me though, we're like one big family.
On the other hand though I do feel for people who can't ever enjoy their birthday for one reason or another. My DP lost his 2 best friends (who were twins) on the way to his 21st party and never forgave himself. Anyway enough said.

Have a nice evening girls - hopefully i'll get more of a break tomorow to join you for more chat.

Nemo1977 · 20/09/2005 17:03

ok you lot talk wayyyyyyyyy too much
I cant keep up but ei your dp nan sounds like a total mare...grrrrrrrrrrr

Well we did it. I cant walk or move but adams room is finished and the living/dining room is tidy and semi toy free...gonna sell some on here to get rid. His room is lovely sooo relaxing and he seems happy although bedtime will really tell. Baby stuff is all stacked in nursery now ready to be washed and put away so will make a start on that on thurs when I have worked through the load of washing that has built up while doing the room....lol Need to go and cook tea but am a happy lady.

ninah · 20/09/2005 17:06

way to go, nemo! great news. No wonder you've been quiet on here today!
Night, all xx

swiperfox · 20/09/2005 17:20

Oh for goodness sake

Ok.

"I am fuming with the comment from Swiperfox and am currently doing well at stopping myself from really letting go!!

Good job i'm off to the midwive now!!"

"I just had a quick read through again and I could still swip for that swiperfox! "

And I am the one making it personal????

Kangel your comments above are exactly why I directed my post at you. Someone asked a question about xmas babies and I answered based on the fact that my dd was born on xmas day. I don't understand why you had to turn it into something it wasn't just because you are due in December?? No one else did!! More to the point - if you didn't agree, why not address it on the thread in hand instead of going off somewhere else to have a go about me?!

I still can't believe a simple question and answer has turned into this!!

ninah · 20/09/2005 17:22

um, peace and goodwill, ladies?

ninah · 20/09/2005 17:22

anyone?

dramaqueen72 · 20/09/2005 17:52

ah, yes, peace and goodwill -that time of year, each to their own thoughts i think swiperfox.

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 17:57

oh no, not an argument on this thread, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, stop.

bonkerz · 20/09/2005 18:04

Blimey, have only just found the new thread and managed to catch up! you lot!!!

OK minds gone a blank but have managed to go through all emotions from anger to happiness whilst reading your posts!

Have avoided the xmas thread like the plague cos im likely to get upset too. I dont care when my babie is due to be honest because i had to lose 2 babies to get this one AND the fact that she is due ON christmas day makes her even more special in my book! And anyway DS birthday is in July and we had to have his birthday party 2 weeks early cos all his friedns were on holiday!! So i think July is an awful time to have a baby same as August!

Got my GTT on Friday! Am gonna end up like a pin cusion cos have a full blood count on Thursday and then the 2 blood tests on Friday for the GTT!!!!

Glad all is sorted Nemo, hope Adam sleeps well tonight!!
TC: Glad oyu finally have a date to work towards for your maternity leave!
EI: im so cross for you! TBH id have second thoughts about how a 64 year old would cope with a 5 month old anyway!! MAybe i need some of her energy! Id tell her she can by all means go on holiday with baby BUT you are coming too and she is paying!

My bump tends to morph into shapes too! belly button definately sticks out more at night as well!
Secret stork shopping done so should post soon! Depends on busy schedule etc!!

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 18:14

hi girs the discussion did not go very well
i asked him about his nan and the holiday and he basically told me to shut up because i was taking it the wrong way(!!??) and he would be perfectly happy to let his nan take our child away on hol as it would make no difference to him!! so its obvious that im not going to get my point across to him cos he isnt arsed either way!! i feel like im on my own with this one now cos theres no support being offered from him! iv spent the last 20mins sobbing (after he stormed out in a huff that is) on the couch and i need a big hug now- any offers?

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 18:15

hey bonkerz, hello you!
Yeah I'm glad i have a date to focus on too. this way when I get new release dates etc Ic an smile and think 'huh, whatever, i'm not hre then!'

Sometimes I have no idea what you lot are on about, what on earth is a GTT? i have my 2nd only ever appt with midwife this friday. i only had the 1st as i was going on holiday and hadn't feel my mole move so I asked would she please come over and check the heartbeat.
i've not been seen by GP as i have a 1to1 midwife.

oh and I ahve to be totally honest here and say hands up, it doesn't matter and there are far more important things and all that, but I'd be a lot happier if my mole doesn't appear on Xmas day itself. I mean whatever, it's so not the end of the world, but I'd really like to be sat at the dinner table eating lovley food with lottie on one knee and my new baby in my arms. just an ideal little picture i ahve in my head. I'd like to have new baby with me and be feeling good on Xmas day this year, that's all.

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 18:16

oh ei23mummy, baby girl, i'm so sorry, oh pickle.
massive hugs to oyu. Wish i could do more.

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 18:20

thanx tc hug well recieved!!
gtt means glucose tolerance test btw

OP posts:
sweetheart · 20/09/2005 18:33

ei - oh sweetie, that really sucks.

If it was me I'd dig my heals in and say the baby wasn't going anywhere without me.

It doesn't really matter if dh can't see your point of view because at the end of the day you are the mother and if you say the babies not going what can he really do. I'd make damn sure there was no passport available and make it very clear this is your decision and what you say goes!

But then I'm a bossy little madam!
I hope the rest of your evening gets better.

majorstress · 20/09/2005 18:37

HI xmas mums, my dd2 came just after xmas in 2003 and it was MUCH nicer for mummy than the summer baby! Lovely to have the family more available to coo as they are on hols too. Cooler too. Snowstorm on the night was a bit dramatic though.

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 18:46

thanks sh i decided that enough was enough and have told my mum off him!! i feel sooooo much better for it aswell esp as she offered to send my dad up to him and have words!! (my dad is the sensitive to pg women type!!) i refused this kind offer but feel better for it anyway!!
thankyou sooooo much you guys for the support that is on offer here xx i feel like i would have gone mad by now if i didnt have the advice and kind words you ladies give xx big hugs to you all {{{{{}}}}}- (group hug!!)

Nemo1977 · 20/09/2005 18:55

awwww hugs ei hope things get sorted...am only down the road if you ever wanna pop in for a winge and a gripe..lol

Nemo1977 · 20/09/2005 19:47

Well Adam is in bed...was a bit upset and tried to carry half his toys to old room which now has baby stuff in...glad we didnt put up the cot..bless him then he sobbed on the floor in his new room but i just sat there reading a story to him and he climbed into bed himself and asked for the book. We have just left him awake and reading..came downstairs to hear him at top shouting mummy daddy..bless him, its also his first time without a gate on his door as if he is fretting I dont want him to feel trapped at the same time. He has stopped shouting so hopefully is in his bed or at worst in ours..lol ITs sad in a way as my little boy has grown up

george32 · 20/09/2005 19:59

It's taken me ages to catch up!!
Busy day doing not a lot today for me. Really don't know where the day has gone.

Ei, I'm so sorry about your DPs nan being so awful. Hope you manage to talk them round.

Hi TC, sorry don't think I've said hello again yet. My round of seeing the m/w and GP starts properly from now, so it's not just you who hasn't seen a lot of them. I have to go every 3 weeks now and then down to every 2 closer to the birth. They don't seem to do a lot though.

Nemo, how is Adam? Bless him, poor thing, a whole new room & all he wants is his old one. I hope he settles soon for you.

george32 · 20/09/2005 20:01

Oh, forgot to say, I tried Caitlin out on DP earlier. Big no.
I think he is just really happy with the 3 we have chosen already. Not sure why I keep looking for more though.

Nemo1977 · 20/09/2005 20:18

aww which 3 names do you have geore..i forgot

adam is fine no noise so must be asleep. Hes bed time probably wasnt helped by the fact that he hadnt had a nap all day due to being out with dh and then pil.

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 22:31

Oh ei23mummy , glad you feel a bit better hon.

Dp and I shouted at each other tonight. It's all ok now but it all went a bit pear shaped. He said 'you're taking a lot of time off work'! To which I flipped and said I was taking the minimum maternity leave etc etc etc. He said he didn't mean it that way, he just didn't realise how long maternity leave was, to which I said it wasn't long at all and I'd be leaving a very young baby in someone else care and so on and so on. Ohhhhh I was so cross.
Then he said I should look at getting a good replacement so I had a job to go back to! It was at this point I went and ran a bath! All much calmer and nicer now.

Meant to measure myself with toilet roll while I was upstairs but forgot.

Nemo - bless that little pickle Adam, what an absolute sweetie.

I've just written out a list of things I need to do, thinking of more as I type to you! All I can say is oh My GOD! Remain calm TC, remain calm! But if someone could just stop the world for a minute I'd really like to get off!
