kangel · 20/09/2005 09:09

Looks like my name's dirt!

Nemo1977 · 20/09/2005 09:09

i wouldnt worry kangel

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 09:45

Morning everyone!

Kangel - I wouldn't worry about it. Things often get heated on here, try and ignore it. I got slatted once and was so upset about it - until I relised it really wasn't worth it.

Ebbie, I absolutly love the name Caitlin for a girl. It would be my 1st choice for a girl, except dh hates it and said no way. Good job it looks like we're having a boy really!!

I ordered the first part of my ss gift yesterday but it's gonna take 2-4 weeks to deliver so my stork might have to wait until mid October for her prezzie. I'll probably send half now and half later if thats OK.

Did the wedding ring trick last night. Dh said it was going in circles which is a boy.

Anyone else been trying all the old wives tales? Cravings, heartbeat, etc etc etc

scully · 20/09/2005 10:55

What do you do with your wedding ring again sh? and Caitlin is a LOVELY name for a girl
Can't remember who mentioned it yesterday, but I also have a couple of gorgeous snow suits, one fleecy with ears and one more water resistent material. A couple of ebay bargains and they are so small and cute!
Now I need to go and read the additions to the Xmas baby thread......
& as for painting things pink (I'm a bit behind from yesterday), although I don't like the colour , dd loves it and has requested a pink house, pink car etc etc. & all my friends purposely buy her pink clothes just to wind me up.......but I have resisted in her room, which is lemon and lilac! Can see that having to change though when we next move house........

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 11:12

phew scully - I though I was going to have to resort to doing some work for a min then!!!! Thank goodness you posted

Your supposed to dangle your wedding ring above your belly on a bit of string or something. If it swings forwards and backwards thats a girl, if it goes in circles thats a boy

george32 · 20/09/2005 11:14

Morning everyone,
I love Caitlin, I'm going to run it past DP in a bit, don't think it's one we have considered yet. I'll let you know the reaction.

DQ, time is still flying for me too. I think the reason people think Dec ladies are due sooner is because Christmas seems an age away when it really isn't. Hmmm, not sure that made sense!! Sept to Dec seems ages but if you think of March to June it seems closer - any clearer yet? Should I keep going?

Oooh, going to have to read all this fuss you have been stirring up Kangel!

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 11:14

there is a list of myths here

Judging by this I am having a boy.

ninah · 20/09/2005 11:18

hello all
thanks for your Christmas 'picture' Enid! makes me look forward to it lots.
nemo I have the other 'half' of ei's name with my Louis! so I agree it is GOOD taste!
TC have to admit I quite like ziggy for a girl!

scully · 20/09/2005 11:22

Hilarious myths sh! I am a mixture of both, wonder what that means
Just remember, if anyone uses the name Caitlin, you could end up with a pink obsessed little madam who argues for England and organises everything and everyone
yes, enid's post about Xmas babies was lovely, makes me look forward to it all even more. It could be -20 and I won't care, not like I am going to venture very far outside anyway, with 2 small children, regardless of the weather.

ninah · 20/09/2005 11:23

boy for me too ac to this
Not married so can't do the ring test! unless a curtain ring is OK ...

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 11:43

I think any ring will do ninah?!?!?!

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 11:55

Not marreid either so I'm going to be in the dark for just a bit longer. So can't wait. Started a thread on hime births yesterday and got all goose bumpy thinking about it.

Listen, girls, does this seem right to you re my maternity leave?
I gave my notice from 5 December for 26 weeks returning to work 5 May.
Is that right?????

god am starting to get clucky that I have so much to do.
need to persuade d that he's ready to start packing up his studio so I can start getting busy with the nursery. I have sucha massive list of things to do, it's not normal!
Putting house on market, getting it valued, see =ing finacial adviser, looking for house, selling car, finding new one, nursery, double buggy and finding school for lottie for next year are very high on the list. Hmmm, really must get back to work and stop fretting!

TC x

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 12:04

TC - 26 weeks brings you to the 5th June - not 5th May!!!!

It's exactly 6 months!!

My belly has gone a funny shape - I have a bulge on the right hand side where a little hand/foot/head is happily poking out How odd!! I can actually feel a part of my baby right this second!

Just have to try and decide which part it is now

scully · 20/09/2005 12:07

Don't envy you moving house tc. Mind you, ours is hopefully going on the market next Feb, so we have started packing up slowly now, just all the stuff in the loft we don't use regularly for starters. I love looking for a new property, just the whole buying/selling process in England sucks!
Won't 26wks leave take you to Fri 2 June, so first day back at work is Mon 5 June?

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 12:10

Just done TP Tuesday (even though the midwife told me not to )

I've shot up to just over 10 sheets Mind you, they have gone and changed brands on me again. I think I'll have to start measuring at home, where the loo roll is always the same - cheap and cheerful

scully · 20/09/2005 12:23

I've also noticed that happening now SH, with my bump being lopsided, especially when I'm in bed. The other night I was pushing on one side, & it was pushing back. Obviously didn't like being disturbed

dramaqueen72 · 20/09/2005 12:50

blimey ladies I only went shopping for a moment and you said all that lot!!!
kangel, ignore other thread 'personalised' comments, please, otherwise MN will just upset you. I once was in tears over a comment on MN to me, but really, it wasnt meant to upset me and dh threatened to ban MN.so i shoved it to one side and came back of course we are going to feel strongly about the dec babies -us having one, and having already 'defended' that to a billion people in RL! our babies -esp any xmas day itself bundles- will be mighty special for their birth date.
scully/s/h my bump is often lopsided! esp at the top to the right - I think their cute bottom is there mostly the other night i got a actual 'part' stick out thro my bump, low down,, just for a second or so i held on to a foot or a hand or an arm.its was both amazing and freaky at once! I ahve noticed the baby reacts to vioces now, esp its sisters....is it fond of its sister or are they fighting already??

dramaqueen72 · 20/09/2005 12:53

TC i keep meaning to say, hello hun, wel done you for popping in when you sound so busy in RL! we are making muttering noises about moving, but it cant be as bad as last time when i moved with a 2wk old what an experience I can tell you!
dh's business has perked up and hes just aid I can go 'big item' baby shopping! his actual words were 'get spending.....'.which he then spoilt by adding 'I dont mean go mad, we need to keep budgetting and being sensible.........'blah blah blah...I knew that, he didnt have to add it.
see? pg hormones and conversations with my dh just dont mix!!!
must go do TP tuesday...........

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 13:05

hey ladies!! how are you all today??
i couldnt get to sleep last night until 230ish when i stopped looking at the clock!!
im in a bit of a funny mood today...prepare for a little moan-fest....
was speaking to dp last night and he meantioned in conversation that his nan (the interfering one.) had booked a holiday for next year in may. i wasnt too surprised as theyr always dashing off on holiday so i asked him where they were going. he then said they were going to a hotel in benidorm and 'btw' it has really low child supplements. i didnt say anything as hed just slipped it into conversation. after id thought about it though i asked him what he meant about the child supplements and he told me that his nan has booked and paid for my 5mnth old child to go on holiday with them for two weeks without even asking me if that would be ok!!!!!! i was soooo annoyed!! and to top it off sean thinks thats ok!!!! i coulda swung for him!!!
am i right to be annoyed? or are my hormones making the situation look worse than it is??
