ei, you need to nip this in the bud now, otherwise you will have a lifetime of it......
Maybe along the lines of it was a lovely thought, but you and your dp would like to take the baby away on it's first holiday etc & that in future it would be appreciated if they would ask you first before making any arrangements that involve your child!
She would only have been able to put a deposit down I think anyway, as you don't even know the baby's name or date of birth yet

Thomcat · 20/09/2005 13:58

Thanks girls. I asked my assistant to look it up on the calender and that's the date she gave me! i thought it was wrong hence asking you lot, sorry! Hmmm, June, that's much better.

ei23mummy - errrrr, that's mad and you have every right to be really peed off.

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 14:06

ei and for you!!!

Like scully said - you need to put a stop to this right now!! How dare they do something like this without even consulting you.

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 14:18

thanks girls i thought i was right!! sean said that he didnt think there was a problem in letting his nan take the baby so theres no support there from him to back me up but i made my feelings perfectly clear to him after he said that!! he was a bit peed off actually as his nan spoilt him rotten when he was little- he went to barbados to an all inclusive five star hotel when he was 18mths and then again when he was 10yrs!!(aswell as ibiza, benidorm, canary islands etc...) it was so unfair tho as hes got two bros and a sister who didnt get taken anywhere!! he was the favourite and the others didnt get a look in!!
i suppose that if shed asked first i wouldnt be as annoyed but i think shes been so cheeky just presuming that it would be ok!! shes given in the name of the baby aswll as 'adam stackhouse' so that made me even more angry as we dont know if our baby is a boy or girl!! grrrrr is it ok to slap a 64 year old woman out of hormonal rage???

deep breaths ei....ok i think the rant may have passed!!! im gonna drown my sorrows in a HUGE mug of hot choc and maybe watch a weepy film!!!

ei - this is just shocking behaviour, especially from a woman of 64 who should know better!

I think you should make it clear to her that, although the gesture is appreciated, you are the mother of this baby and you will decide if, when and where it goes on holiday.

I'd feel like slapping her too!!!

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 14:37

thanks sh i might just have a few well chosen words with her!! i dont want to hurt her feelings but shes hurt mine a little bit so an eye for an eye...

scully · 20/09/2005 15:15

She may not take it well but otherwise you will be stressing about it until you get it off your chest.
Giving the name of the baby, before knowing the sex or without knowing that you may change your mind - unbelievable
Your dp's siblings must have been a bit put out, growing up......

ninah · 20/09/2005 15:34

get spending dq! do what a bloke would do and hear what you choose to!
sh TEN sheets, flippin' eck! is it the scratchy stuff lol
ei yes cheeky mum in law! mine was like this, infuriating! dss mum booked my son in for a foot appt and that was bad enough for me!

scully · 20/09/2005 15:59

like that comparison ninah! or if you dp/dh plays golf, just add up what that costs over 9mths.......

dramaqueen72 · 20/09/2005 16:05

okay wheres all our TP tuesday results?
s/h I am just a weeny bit under ten, nine and most of the tenth sheet so right there with you......

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 16:08

I'm a teeny bit over the 10th sheet

I put it down to cheap paper!!!

ei23mummy · 20/09/2005 16:13

righty-ho im still 9 sheets so no change for three weeks- i did however buy a different brand of tp the first week so that may be why theres no change!! my tum seems to be higher tho and a bit lop-sided!! weird!!

OP posts:
ninah · 20/09/2005 16:14

I'm still only 8.5!
better go for check up I am due one and have been putting it off what with everything else

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:15

lower and lopsided for me!

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 16:21

ninah - don't tell the mw you've been measuring yourself - you'll get told off like I did last week!!

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:28

mmmm. I want to know WHY it's bad, tho!
our mw is very timid.

kangel · 20/09/2005 16:35

What a day!!! This is the first break I've had since this morning - I have been so busy at work everyone seemed to pounce on me today and I seem to be doing everyones work!!!! [need a worn out emoticon]

EI - I hope you've calmed down a bit, but OMG I too would be sooooooo sooooo especially over the name booking. How can they not ask your permission over a 5 month old baby - its not a toy and maybe you and your DP might like to take bump on its first ever holiday. Big Hugs to you hun - I hope you get it all sorted out.

I measured this morning and I am 7.9 sheets (the best I could descibe it) Not quite 8 yet but give it a few more boxes of orange matchmakers and i'll be there!!

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 16:36

because apparently it causes unneccesary upset - personally I think they are just worried we doing them out of their job

hana · 20/09/2005 16:37

just gatecrasing for a minute - My little dd was due on christmas Day last year and it was lovely!! She didn't arrive on the day, was born on 29th, but it's a lovely time of year to have a baby. Lots of luck with your own in a few months time!!

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:40

upset? good grief
carrying a huge bump, coping with hormones, tiredness, massive boobs, aching back, the propect of turning ourselves inside out to pass something the size of a football, doing all this and working, looking after our families, and they think we'll be upset! I'll give them upset grrrr! lol

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:40

oh hana what a lovely message, thank you so much

sweetheart · 20/09/2005 16:41

pmsl -

Have you just had a coffee ninah, or are you high on the fumes of someone elses!!!

kangel · 20/09/2005 16:42

Thats really sweet of you Hana

ninah · 20/09/2005 16:45

passive intake only for the last hour or so, sadly. Still weighed down by that potato!
