have a good thomas day nemo....deeeeeeeeeeep breaths now

george32 · 02/10/2005 09:46

LOL DQ, was that to re-asssure him that he is doing OK with you. He could be with someone really barmy!!!
There are sneaky mad women out there lurking under the guise of being calm and placid!

Decorating for me today. DP has commited to finishing painting the boys room by Friday so we can have the carpet fitted - guess who is doing that then!

Hope you have a good day out Nemo.

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 10:43

Fairly quiet day planned here. Dh is in the garden again (not by his choice but fil won't stop toll it's ALL finished)

I'm going to visit M&S to get a prezzie for my new little nephew and have a look around for a few bits of my own. I need to get some maternity bra's and stuff for hospital.

DQ - I'm glad you and your dh are back on track I was talking to my dh about the possibility of a homebirth this morning but he is dead set against the idea.

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 10:44

It's raining again here, so going to run some errands whilst DH helps me amuse DD whilst we catch up on the washing and chores. My ankles are getting swollen now if I stand too long, so I try to do as much as possible sitting.

bigeyes · 02/10/2005 14:14

I'm new and I'm delighted to have found this thread I'm 28wks and due 23rd Dec 1st baby (a boy called Lewis). Yippeeeeee for xmas baby I havn't give it a second thought about 'supposed down sides' I am starting my MAT leave in 3 weeks plan to do all sorts of lovely xmas preperations I wouldn't normally have time for: baking xmas fare, getting decorations up early, shopping during day when its quiet, cooking stews for freezer, making a patchwork quilt: yes ive been hit by the homemaker bug . I also recently trained to be a BodyShop at Home consultant and do parties once or twice a week gud for socialising and lots of pampering! After early scares and worries in first trimester and losing a twin I wouldn't dream of giving it a second thought we are pleased to have got this far, things have been as they should be since 16wks. Also sneakly registerd for free tv audience tickets possibly x factor or celeb big bro Shoo away those silly obsessed sun worshippers theres loads to be excited about! yipeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 02/10/2005 14:36

welcome bigeyes, its a lovely thread to be part of.
expat, hope you got some chores done, or better still got dh to do them.
george, nope, I was actually telling dh what a therapy I find this group of dec ladies. and all about a few of you.
s/h yes well dh was set against homebirth but all his fears were 'silly' when we looked at them.mine too. I think it could be lovely. really dont mind giving birth in hospital, its the post baby part i cant bear, hot, noisey, busy, and either interferring staff or no staff at all (had huge row with one nurse who told me I MUST put dd2 back in her cot and i told her no, she was a few hours old and i was going to cuddle her!!! ) then coming home pretty soon after birth.when i could be at home all the time.... plus all the mrsa scares like expat said about. and the midwife shortages........
I dont know, they might not let me but i certainly think i like the idea. I know i do because I keep coming back to it!! and this is my fourth, and my last so...
youd be impressed s/h- or maybe your fil would!!- I actually tidied our garden today, kind of put it to bed for winter. dh has been shopping for me and got some things from b&q. (but not quite got round to put the things from b&q up!!)
had a nap but only for an hour, could of done with longer but its a start.
hope your train day went well nemo.

Nemo1977 · 02/10/2005 16:39

hi all
bigeyes welcome to the thread and little lewis...bless

DQ been busy with the garden though...dont over do it

well back from thomas..obviously and was a lovely day Adam was soooooooo excited with the trains etc. Pil brought a picnic..bless and also paid for everything so we spent a grand total of 80p on a hot choccie for me..lol Adam was lovely but his nurofen started to wear off on the train trip home so was looking more pale and saying his ears hurt..poor baby..so have ocme home and given him another dose so he is starting to perk up. SPD has been an absolute mare so dont think I will be walking by tonight..lol Well worth it though when I saw adams face looking at thomas..lol

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 16:43

welcome to the thread bigeyes - it's great to have another dec mummy on board!!

DQ - I'm planning on being in and out of hospital as quickly as possible. SIL went in at 5am yesterday, delivered by lunch time and was home by mid afternoon so fingers crossed it will be the same for me.

I've been to Tesco today and stocked up on maternity pads, breast pads, value knickers (for after the birth that can be thrown away - and much more comfy than paper knickers) They were 2 pairs for 65p - BARGAIN! I also got some slippers and a couple of bits for the baby

Went with my sister who is in her 30's and childless. She was asking me lots about why I needed the pads and stuff. Think she was quite shocked when I told her the gorry details about having a baby

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 16:44

Nemo - so glad Adam had a brilliant day - now sit down with a cuppa and put your feet up - you deserve a rest!!

Nemo1977 · 02/10/2005 16:47

SH feet are well and truley up as am on the couch with legs on the other arm..lol
Sound like your tesco shop was productive

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 16:54

I discovered Tesco clothes today! Wow! Got DD some jeans for a fiver - and they're brill.

Am now sipping some hot cocoa and thinking about what to get together for tea.

Feet up, preggie ladies - we're in the 3rd trimester!!

Nemo1977 · 02/10/2005 16:55

expat oooo think hot choccie is my craving. Tescos clothing is fab esp for kids and really cheap. If you decide what you are having for dinner let me know as I am lacking inspiration at the minute..lol

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 17:20

Another in agreement here - tesco (and asda) are great, especially for kids clothes as they grow out of them so fast!!

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 17:24

We're having stovies. Well, a twist on stovies b/c we're adding more veg to the mash to bulk up our veg intake.

Mmmm. Got some brill sausages at the farmer's market yesterday.

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 17:38

what are stovies?

We've got a good old Sunday roast - yuummmmmmm

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 17:41

A sausage and mash dish. Mmmm. Viva Scotland!

bigeyes · 02/10/2005 18:45

Nemo: I think I have just started with mild SPD i started a thread to ask for advice, any tips for preventing it getting worse or to reduce discomfort? - I have also been suffering from ciatica but least that goes!

DH and I absolutely won't shop anywhere but tesco's and started off bottom draw with the packs of bodysuits - DH asked one day -'Why does Lewis have 18 bodysuits?' as if I had gone barking - it was at this point I explained re number if changes and how quick they grow He makes an effort to keep up with stuff now.

My favourite easy n healthy meal at mo is rough chopped med veg thrown in oven tray roasted then put tin of tomatoes on top to make a chunky kind of sauce have with rice or nice bread - thats what DH is making us right now! He's pretty good mostly but didn't used to know what an aubergine is hee hee!

sweetheart · 02/10/2005 18:50

big eyes - are you having a boy then or is Lewis your pet name. If you give us some more of your details we can add you to our stats page which can be found here

I have been suffering with siatica and have found the two best things to be a birthing ball which you can pick up from Argos for about £5 and a V Shaped pillow. My symptoms have got alot better since the mw recommended using these.

Nemo666 · 02/10/2005 20:41

Adam and dh with Thomas

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 20:49

I crave pepperoni pizza like no one's business.

bigeyes · 02/10/2005 22:24

Have added my stats. Coca Cola is my latest craving!

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 22:31
