That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

Sorry to hear you have to have crutches, but at least you are getting help to get around.

I've been meeting with the local Mumsnet ladies for coffee; only 3 of us, but we were there for 2.5 hours!

PollyPoo · 20/11/2010 20:12

Hehe, well that went well. Much swearing and kicking of stuff from TG due to the new batteries he bought being drained by the air pump before the pool was even a third inflated! And he only bought one set. Me thinks we will be investing in a mains pump fairly soon. Grin

Amazing what you find to talk about isn't Medee? The time just flies by. Were they very BESHlike? Glad you had a good time!

Scorpette · 20/11/2010 20:34

Aw, Poll, feel sad at you hobbling about in pain on crutches, but the image of you looking like the world's least subtle shoplifter raised a smile Wink You are indeed going to have a baybee - and soon! I hope all your cookies and treats help and your birthing pool sounds verr groovy. I think you're v brave :)

LGG, glad to hear you've got your baby-stick aspirin :) Keep necking 'em!

Not good enough for you, are we, Meddler? Harumph!

Seriously, glad you had such a good time.

Medee · 21/11/2010 10:44

of course you're good enough, but you're all fucking miles away!

rocketleaf · 21/11/2010 15:13

score I am not ready to give up underwires. Looking like I am wearing an inflatable ring shoved under my armpits is not a look I can go for just yet.

poo can't believe you are on crutches! eep! Hope they are helping somewhat tho. Ineffectual shoplifting imagery made me smile too I'm afraid. :o you now you could prob get away with murder with diffed+cripple status ;-) Hope teenypoo doesnt hang about so you can get back on your feet asap.

I not sure if kidney stones and gall stones are related as completely different organs. I know passing kidney stones is veh veh painful and I am hoping these will not be so bad. It had really calmed down yesterday which I am grateful for as I could enjoy the luffly party and finally got to tell all my girlfriends from back home. A bit sore again today tho. I thought I might start keeping a food diary to see if I can find a correlation between the pain and what I eat but that just sounds a bit anal and hypochondriac ish (and a pain in the arse!)

medee glad you had a lovely time with the MNmums , sounds like you must have clicked :o

Medee · 21/11/2010 15:33

were your friends tres happy pour vous, rocket?

I just remembered I had my first birth dream last night - ended up giving birth at home, unexpectedly, and remember holding the head as it came out, and it felt squishy. Baby was a very scrawny little girl.

rocketleaf · 21/11/2010 15:47

ohh freaky meds I can wait for those to start Confused I have quite bizarre dreams as it is so sure I will have some weird ones :o

Yeah it was lovely, everyone was very pleased, felt a bit bad that I was stealing the b'day girls thunder a bit but just wanted to tell everyone in person and I don't get to see them very often. I don't think she was too bothered tho :D

Funny as one of them already knew as my mum told her daughter (who works in our local chemist) about 2 weeks ago. Then ran back in 5 mins later and told her not to tell my friend, but of course she couldn't stop herself. So said friend has been sitting on it for 2 weeks. I can't find it in myself to be annoyed with mum even tho I specifically told her not to tell anyone. She is obviously very excited about it, bless her and not quite the DHB I have always thought her :o

rocketleaf · 21/11/2010 15:49

HER local chemist not mine btw. Just to be correct.

I have pins and needles in my hands, its a bit odd.

Medee · 21/11/2010 15:52

not to alarm you, but carpal tunnel syndrome can come on in pregnancy.

rocketleaf · 21/11/2010 17:42

oh jeez, carpal tunnel AND gall stones. As if I didn't feel geriatric enough. Wink TBH, meds i think its more due to bad circulation having been extremely sedentary that last few months due to feeling like utter crap. I just need to HTFU and force myself to be less of a couch potato.

Very nearly hurled in Tesco earlier. Its odd as I have never thought I was actually going to be sick while dry heaving until quite recently. I think this might be due to the stones more than MS but who the feck knows. need to stop whining about it really, am boring myself so god knows how you lot feel.

Oh and one of my friends (ex midwife) told me that she pretty much delivered her daughter herself on her 2nd. As in she grabbed the head and shoulders and pulled her out. She didn't mention it being squishy tho Wink

Scorpette · 21/11/2010 19:22

Rocket, I had weird pains between my thumb and forefinger on both hands and then it just went away at @ wk 9-10. V odd! Mum also guiltily confessed she told all her gal pals I was pg ages ago. I couldn't be mad, as apparently they're all gagging to get knitting for me :)

Meds, I had a birth dream last night too - sadly, mine was weird and, erm, well, I dreamt I was giving birth in our bath (empty) and I was doing a huuuuge poo at the same time as the baby was coming out and I was scared I was going to deliver the baby face-first into a monstrous log. There's lovely! Confused

Muser · 21/11/2010 19:28

Hello all. I have been away visiting multitudes of nephews, all of them except the tiniest one. I am really quite broody after being grinned at constantly by the 5 month old. He is an adorable little pudding.

We also now have a moses basket and an activity mat. The moses basket is stored on top of the wardrobe and makes me giggle when I see it. Surely I'm not really having a baby?

OP posts:
Medee · 21/11/2010 19:34

oh yes you are, Muse!

That's, erm, interesting, scorps!

Sorry you are feeling lousy, Rocket - hopefully it will pass soon.

CluckyKate · 21/11/2010 21:05

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rubbish - bitch-slaps all round!!

Sounds like you has bin shopping Muse....does make it all seem a bit more real what with the karate chops & tummy contortions going on. Anyone else starting to feel like a punch-bag???

Yesterday I felt the baby having hiccups for the first time - did make me wonder what set him off.

Anyway, fingers crossed for a better week for everyone Smile

Muser · 21/11/2010 22:03

Better than shopping Clucky, we has been collecting hand-me-downs. All from my brother and SIL, plus I got some maternity stuff from my SIL. Still to come from them is a stand for the moses basket, a bouncy thing that attaches to the door, a Bumbo seat, and all manners of clothes/blankets/whatnot.

We have also been offered a car seat by other SIL, as by the time Bob arrives hers will have long grown out of it. I wouldn't do a secondhand car seat normally, but as we know it's not been in any accidents it's fine.

This whole being the last one to sprog is quite good for saving the old pennies!

OP posts:
Scorpette · 21/11/2010 22:57

I don't think I'm mature enough to be a mother - 'bumbo seat' made me snigger Grin

We ain't got anyone to give us lovely hand-me-downs Sad Or even crappy hand-me-downs. I'm always the trailblazer

SilverSky · 22/11/2010 05:26

Scor we were in similar situ with no one to pass any of their shit no longer needed baybee goodies when lo and behold one of HIs friends sister's gave us a bag of newborn gear which came in v v v handy. We have also had presents of all sorts of randoms too.

My MIL couldn't keep our news to herself either and told all her customers which was a) slightly annoying but b) didn't matter in the long run cos it's not like they were any of my pals etc.

I fancy an activity mat for MB. He seems to spend more time awake in the mornings now so he would prob enjoy one.

Can't wait to get driving / all clear from quack and get mobile again. Tho I still feel as tho have had major surgery and a bit wussy round the abdomen which is a reminder to take things easy.

Soooo who is next to sneeze gin tarts ????

Scorpette · 22/11/2010 10:45

Grrr, had to wait an hour to have bloods taken for liver tests in a waiting room full of people sneezing, snuffling, coughing and hacking up phlegm into grotty hankies. And of course, despite there being many free chairs, every single new lurgy-ridden patient that entered the waiting room made a beeline for me and sat next to/behind/in front of me Angry

I don't think I could cope with a cold on top of all the other shiteness I'm having to put up with!

Silv, defo listen to your body and take things easy :) Or I'll come round there and beat you until you relax Wink

Muser · 22/11/2010 11:04

Definitely get an activity mat Silv, babies love them.

Scorps hope you manage to fight off the germs, you definitely don't need a cold on top of everything else.

I believe that maswera is now top of the list. But she may have run off down De Nile so who knows what's happening.

I have just been looking at my calendar, there are 5 weeks until I finish work for Christmas. Then there are 6 weeks until I go on maternity leave. Wheeeee!

OP posts:
Orchid12 · 22/11/2010 11:20

Muse woo hoo - time will fly by. Enjoy mat leave, it's great!

Scorps I was up your way yesterday! My step brother in law has just bought a house near you and we went to see it for the first time. Ended up in Tesco for lunch as I was about to chew someone's hand off if they didn't feed me and Mini O needed something to eat before we set off home. It was the first time I'd ever been and I kept looking round wondering if I might see you! Needless to say I don't think I did (although if you spotted a hagged, pale, sullen faced woman wandering round after a small child coaxing him to eat pasta that was me!).

rocketleaf · 22/11/2010 11:45

Oh feeling better today again ,fanx for all the kind words. If I get one day off and one day on then I'll be a happy differ!

score hope you avoid getting the lurgy, serios you do not need that.

moo defo take it easy for as long as possible. Just enjoy it and don't leave the house until proper cabin fever kicks in :o

orchs Tescos eh? Mr O really knows how to treat a lady, I only ever get taken to t'asda Wink

muse also 5 weeks for me too until I break up for xmas and therefore permanently. If I don't manage to get any more work then I will start my 'mat leave' 5 months early! Secretly quite pleased about this because basically I am pretty work shy Looking forward to day time prego yoga, free courses, proper cooking and sorting the house out.

In not quite craving news, I have drunk 2 cups of builders brew tea in the last 2 days, yesterday was the first cup of tea I have drunk for nearly 10 years as I normally find it totally rank. Trust me to have the most prosaic 'craving' possible. :o

Scorpette · 22/11/2010 11:45

So near and yet so far, Orchid! I felt so ill yesterday that I didn't leave the flat - sent TYF out to get papers and bits and bobs. So if you saw a bloke in a duffel coat and cherry-red DMs who looked like (Scooby-Doo) Shaggy's sexy younger brother, that was him!

Medee · 22/11/2010 12:18

Afternoon all. Had my 24 week check up at the midwife this morning. All well, heartbeat good, and am measuring the right size for my stage. MrM's blood results not back in time (the results line doesn't open till 11am!) but midwife keeps stock of the anti-D injections in the fridge anyway, so can administer at next appointment without any notice. I've noticed also my milk starting to come in - little dry white marks on my bras, and last night actually felt the leakage in my PJs!

Glad to hear you are feeling better, Rocket.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/11/2010 13:15

Good news on appt, Medee. I remember when had MiniG and was squeezing nipple to try and see if any milk and it came out BRIGHT ORANGE. Thought I was total freak until I googled colostrum.

Hope you feel better soon, Scorps and avoid more germs setting up home in you. Defo not what you need.

Your builders tea craving made me chortle, Rocket. i must be pregnant all the time as I drink so much of the stuff. Although not so much when actually pregnant! Drinking green tea for the antioxidants at the moment and trying to convince self it doesn't really taste like earwax.

CluckyKate · 22/11/2010 13:32

Blimey Meds, 24 weeks - how fast has that gone!!! I is also lactating & getting dried-up milk on me nips [bleurgh].

6 weeks 'til Mat Leave for me or 22 1/2 working days if you count Hols/Bank Hols Grin
