That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

If this continues, Muse, you'll be spewing that babybee out of your mouth, not your hoo-ha Confused That is totally shit of her. Because it's not technically 'serious' (ie threatening to you or Bob), then she's not really fussed about properly sorting it out. And maybe you're just v unlucky and it can't be sorted out (hope not!), but 'it'll pass' isn't really enough of a reply, whatever the case Angry Feel sorry for MWs when they can't help but blithe replies aren't the answer.

14/15 weeks - EEK!

BTW, TYF won't discuss baby names seriously with me, so I have taken to telling him, completely straight-faced, that I am currently favouring Scheherazade and Fortescue. AIBU? Grin

AlpinePony · 17/11/2010 19:49

Oh Emm Gee! Mushrooms kill baybees: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1085739-Shiitake-mushrooms-in-pregnancy Hmm

muser Famously I puked the day I laid Bear, I also puked as the sewed me up. But I never puked again after that! Grin Laying the baybee is excellent at getting rid of ms.

Muser · 17/11/2010 20:01

Thing is Scorps there's not much they can do to sort it out. I could stay on pills, but I'm now only sick first thing in the morning, and that's not every single day anymore, then I'm sick on the rare occasions when I eat something weird or just feel really run down. So it doesn't seem worth taking pills when I can live with it. Mornings aren't much fun, but that's about it.

It's her complete lack of interest in it that does piss me off. She's never asked me how often I'm being sick and was disapproving when I was on the pills. Thank god I got a nice GP when I needed it.

Ski that mushrooms thread had me boggling earlier. People are weird.

remember the faff we've had finding out MrM's blood type (I'm Rh D neg). He had his appointment at the GP surgery today (fully expecting to have to pay for it). Nurse had no idea why he was there, and once established, didn't think they did that at the surgery, saying it should be at the hospital. The same hospital who had told him to have it at the surgery. When he made the appointment the receptionist confirmed they did that, confirmed the cost, and all was well. After about half an hour of phone calls (I've edited out the faffing that went on), he finally had his blood test (even though the nurse wasn't sure what to write on the vial) and then fell immediately unwell, thereby proving why going to get it for free at the blood donor clinic was never going to work.

Hopefully, we'll have the results for my next midwife appointment, but seriously, FFS! It's not as if he just wants to know on a whim.

Medee · 17/11/2010 20:16

sorry to hear you feel so unwell, OrchadeFire, but I am glad that Scorps and Muse are nearly through the worst of their sickness.

Scorpette · 17/11/2010 21:01

Oooh, 'OrchardeFire' - loving it! You're on top form tonight, Medway Grin What a bunch of arse about the blood testing palaver! Still, it's not like an incompatibility with your blood type is going to hut you or baby, is it? Hmm FFS! I asked about mine and testing TYF on Monday, as I'm 98% sure I'm Rh A Neg (was tested for some reason I forget in my teens) and was told they didn't know, as that info is held by some place in Sheffield - WTF? Still, no need to test just yet, so is okay. Just glad Mr M got his test done, even if it seems you slipped into a 'Carry On Nurse' alternative dimension! Confused That nurse sounds highly professional, NOT.

Muser, the fact that she was so dismissive was what pissed me off for you. Just because it's not dangerous doesn't mean that it's not bloody awful and she should offer more human kindness than just disapproving of your medication Angry

My reflux is back despite my having taken my drucks this morning Sad This could be to do with the fact that I managed to eat some creme fraiche instead of sheep's yoghurt a bit ago (similar pots). FFS, I haven't eaten anything I'm allergic to in over a decade and I neck some now I'm pg? Yeah, well done me! Hmm

Scorpette · 17/11/2010 21:02

(I realise it won't hurt the baby at all, I just don't need extra illness on top of already feeling so rough!)

Medee · 17/11/2010 22:36

It's done as part of your various bloods, IIRC Scorps - though I too knew already as I am a blood donor.

Just to add to the Carry-On-ness of it all, apparently he kept saying, I'm not good with blood/ needles as explanation of why he was there, and again just before she did the procedure: then, on having to put his head between his legs afterwards she said "oh, you should have said" FFS!

Scorpette · 17/11/2010 22:56

It must've been reassuring that she wasn't on auto-pilot and was really engaging with him Hmm Hmm Hmm
You having an epidural, then? He'll cope great with that Wink

Why have they sent my blood type to Sheffield? Am I, in fact, an alien or a vampire or summat and a sinister agency has to be notified?! Why isn't it just with the rest of my blood results? Makes no sense! I asked but the consultant just stared blankly at me as if it had never occurred to him that 'it's in Sheffield' wasn't self-explanatory.

Muser · 18/11/2010 08:54

Do we think it's fair that Bob kicks ME when TBG snores? I do not think it is fair.

OP posts:
Medee · 18/11/2010 09:15

Could it be where the regional blood centre is, Scorps?

No, this is not fair, Muse. I think you need to have a word with him (TBG that is, not Bob.)

Muser · 18/11/2010 09:19

I tried having words with both, didn't achieve much. I put the earplugs back in and fell asleep. It was definitely the snores that had Bob active. Every one was met with a kick.

TBG is going to see the ENT specialist about getting his problem sorted out. They are probably going to rebreak his nose. Ouch.

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 18/11/2010 09:20

muse - wait until Bob builds up his muscles - Bear once managed to wake jailbait by kicking him so violently - I slept through it! :) I can't believe you're getting so near the top of the list - seems like only last week you got your win.

Sorry, double posting. Stupid phone.

I look forward to my wake up annoyance being shared though. That would be fun.

OP posts:
Scorpette · 18/11/2010 10:38

You are so wise, Medee - of course it must be the regional blood place for this area, stoopid me. Of course, that doesn't answer why my blood type hasn't been put on my medical records when it was taken 6 weeks ago, but heyho!

Muse, Bob kicking every time TBG snores? I think Bob might be a Roberta already fed up with male snoring before she's even left the womb Wink

TYF acts out his dreams and chats whilst he's asleep - whilst this can be a bit annoying, it is also hilarious, especially like t'other night when he woke me up because he was inviting me in his 'special den' - he'd lifted the duvet up over his head and was peering excitedly out. It's too adorable to be angry about - even when I have to coax him back to bed when he's cowering in the corner screaming about how the 'devil goose' is going to peck him with its poisonous beak (yes, really). Grin

laurielou · 18/11/2010 12:03

Please can I have some sympathy Sad

I've just fallen over

I'm fine - my pride is hurt more than anything.

I was rushing to make my lunch, my drawer didn't close & I got my foot caught in my drawer & fell to my knees via smacking my already tender nork on a metal cabinet.

Just in case the clatter wasn't enough to make everyone in the office look at me (did I mention this was in the office?) I shouted "FUCK!" as I fell to my knees. Graceful as ever.

Muser · 18/11/2010 12:10

Ouch! Poor laurie. Here, have some tea* and sympathy.

*gin. Natch.

laurie That's twice I've read your post and you've done "something" because twice now I've read it as "I was rushing to get my cake". Are you being subliminiabubble with us? eat more cake Btw, your baps should be encased at work, 'tis only polite. bakewells

rollerbaby · 18/11/2010 15:13

Hi lovlies

I iz back. Back with a baybee!! I have no doubt missed a lot in the last week, but hope everyone is ok and not suffering from various preggo related ailments too much.

It's been a hell of a week and sneeze story has been written up and handed in to the FESHes as is customary in these ere parts. I won't say too much here in case you don't want to read!!

What I will say though is that despite all the horrid bits the labour was good leading up to the actual short and sweet delivery and I am totally in love with this little chubby bundle of gorgeousness. Just put him in his bugaboo for the first time in the kitchen and he is sound asleep...

Fanks everyone for your lovely lovely messages of well wishing on other place - it means alot.

Can't wait to catch up with everyone properly when I get a spare 2 minutes to myself that is...

xx

Scorpette · 18/11/2010 15:44

Yay for Moooooo and lovely Babymoo! Glad you're both doing so well :) I've ventured into the spa to read your account - although I read all entries through my fingers, with a paper bag next to me to breathe into Wink It is really lovely and I am in awe of how calm and in control you were. Will comment more over there.

I have just written a hi-falutin' 1000 word book review in under an hour, using words like 'doyenne' and 'quixotic'. I think I need a lie down.

MrsFC · 18/11/2010 16:39

Wow - reviewing books - that's so cool - where wil it be published? So we can all go look! Will you be getting a huge wodge of cash to buy babee things??

Off to the spa to read your tale honey money so glad you are all home safe & sound xx

Scorpette · 18/11/2010 17:32

Sadly, no cash yet. It's for the (small) publishers and if they like it, they hawk it to various publications to see if they're interested in it. If they are and they publish it, I get a v small wodge of cash.
