That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

I knew it! I said she was laying. Well done Okie. Hooray for even more babies.

I am watching Up. It made me cry in the first 10 minutes. Proper sobbing.

CurlyCasper · 12/11/2010 20:30

still not watched that, but really want to.

Actually, there's a lot I haven't seen. Rarely made it to the cinema while pregnant, because of ridiculous bladder. And haven't made it since because of the small. There are sessions for mums and babies, but films showing thus far have been utter shite. Karate Kid anyone?

Just showed SFF Moo's baby. His response was "fucking hell! Surely she had a section?". Then he winced when I said no. Much respek. Innit.

PollyPoo · 12/11/2010 20:31

Muse that film makes me proper sob too, especially at the end. Smile

Come on Reggie, PUUUUSSHH!

MrsFC · 12/11/2010 21:20

pol, I am a BIG believer in the naughty step. And in the 'I'm going to count to three, and then such & such will happen'. Evil Mom's are us.

And I've spent lots of time telling the boy child about how much miniFC is going to ADORE him and how lucky he will be to have such an AMAZING big brother...

No one needs to push in front of me. And going by past experience I reckon I'll be overtaken by cho and kate. Also I had a growth scan today - mini FC is on the 98th centile. 98.1 in fact. Eeekkkk....

Scorpette · 12/11/2010 21:31

I really liked The Duchess. Up - Jesus, I saw that when we were in the depths of TTC hell and when the couple realise they'll never have kids... well, I thought I was going to properly wail out loud! A gorgeous film :)

Pol, when my brother kicked, my Mum used to let me touch her tum and tell me she'd been telling the baby all about its big sister and it was all excited it was going to meet me I used to put my mouth up to her tum and shout 'hello!' and stuff to the baby.

That was probably the last time me and my brother got on, mind, but don't let that worry you about Boo 'n' BooTwo Grin

PollyPoo · 12/11/2010 21:32

Normally we do the 'counting to 3' but it did not work today. I am a convert to the naughty step now though. Worked really well.

98.1 MrsFC?!! Bloody hell. Let's hope he is long and slim. Wink

Muser · 12/11/2010 21:37

I did whimper at that bit Scorps and then started sobbing as it went on. And sobbed some more all the way through. I sobbed at Bad Dog. I am a wuss. TBG cried too though.

rocketleaf · 12/11/2010 21:42

"squirrel!!!!" Is now part of our vocabulary when we see a daft looking dog. Great film but a proper tear jerker. I sometimes wish we could get one of those collars for the cat but then realised he would just say things like 'feed me, you stupid people" and "open this door, NOW"

mrsFC that's a rather, um, healthy sized baby you are growing there. loads of luck with pushing that one out Wink (have you been eating those glowing vegetables again?)

After failing to find anything to watch on tv, I ended up watching about 15 minutes of "The only way is Essex" before realising it was actually subtracting points from my IQ in the manner of one of those old school films where they flick the pages of the calendar at high speed to signify the passage of time. Before I switched off, I gleaned some gems of information such as Essex being south of North london and Guy Fawlkes being an American who died on the 5th of November. I feel enriched. Hmm :o

PollyPoo · 12/11/2010 22:04

I proper sobbed at Up. And we also shout 'Squirrel' when the dog does something stupid. Which is quite often, she is not very brainy.

I think we are doing all the recommended stuff with Boo and she does talk and sing to the bump and it moves in response to her voice which is wonderful. It may not be the bump that is causing the grief, but is hard to tell at that age, they can't exactly rationalise their feelings. She is still insistent that it WILL be a girl though! I think we will just have to keep talking and keep including her in the baybee stuff. Hopefully once it arrives things will settle down, maybe it is the thought of the unknown that is worse.

Well I stuck with the Duchess and actually really enjoyed it, despite old wooden chops being the lead. Now what shall I watch next? I should have been out with the girls for a curry tonight but TG is away and my poor babysitter/mother is ill so I had to cancel. Now I am craving a chicken patia. Sad

PollyPoo · 12/11/2010 22:12

Oh my god, there really is fuck all on tv. I am reduced to watching Natalie Cassidy... I think bed is preferable to this shit.

Scorpette · 12/11/2010 22:44

I'm watching Law & Order SVU. The storyline is about a kidnapped baby. It's not cheering me up exactly. And the pills have helped but given me a blinding headache. When do I get a fucking break?! Sad Doc says the severe reflux will last the whole pg...

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 06:40

Yup, I feel your pain score, i'm living on Rennies at the moment. And in a couple of months time you can add to that the backache, hip ache, consistant broken sleep because of always needing a wee, and the whole thing is hardly a barrel o laughs is it!!

But only two more weeks at work & I can ease up & have a bit more sofa time - I'm hoping that will help all my aches & pains. And just when I am on the edge of losing it - he gives me a hefty kick, and I think 'ah yes, THIS is what it's for' and Smile to myself.

Medee · 13/11/2010 08:53

Hurrah for BabyGirlOkie

Up was really sad in the first bit, so movingly done.

We went to see The Social Network last night (had a proper night out together, woo!) and it kind of makes me want to leave Facebook, but at the same time I want to see everyone's new babies. So, genius idea really.

Backinthebox · 13/11/2010 09:41

Mrs FC, going by Cluck's track record, you will be comparing lateness misery together!

Casserole · 13/11/2010 10:43

Acid is evil. I want to try those strawberry flavoured chewy Gaviscon chew thingummyjigs. Anyone tried them? Are they, like I am imagining, carte blanche to sit on the sofa eating what is essentially Fruitellas or are they vile?

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 10:51

I haven't tried them yet, but I'm on the lookout for them... I reckon they could be like fruitellas, but then I thought the others could be like Refreshers, and.... Not so much... But they still sound nice. Gaviscon makes me gag!

rocketleaf · 13/11/2010 11:28

I think Tums are like refreshers. I quite like the chalky goodness.

rocketleaf · 13/11/2010 11:30

Papaya tablets are also good for indigestion although on mine it says 'consult medical practitioner if pregnant' :( Not sure I really want to ring my doctor just to ask if I can take Papayaforce when diffed.

Casserole · 13/11/2010 11:41

Oh go on Rocket, I dare you Grin

Last time around the chalkiness made me barf; I'm hoping the chewy Strawberry ones will mask that aspect? Zantac (ranitidine) tablets helped me last time; you can get em over the counter.

PerfectDromedary · 13/11/2010 11:57

I've been living on the chewy freshmint Rennies - much better than the chalky things. Citrussy stuff seems to be the worst offender for heartburn, but it is a pretty constant state of being.

Casserole · 13/11/2010 11:59

Oh! You've just made me remember how much I enjoyed my first glass of orange juice in MONTHS after giving birth last time Grin

Scorpette · 13/11/2010 12:20

I liked the minty Gaviscon double action tablets! My parents warned they would be chalky and rank but I enjoyed them! I think possibly because I've not tasted anything that sweet in over 10 years!

I have no pain today! I could weep with joy! I still feel sick as a dog, but I can deal with that. It's just so nice to not be bent double with agony and be able to face the thought of eating!

I'm ALL about the exclamation mark today, beyatches!!!!!11122111!!1!1111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!

Casserole · 13/11/2010 14:08

Important update: I haz purchased a pack of the strawberry chewy numbers. I will report back forthwith...

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 15:29

Ooh... What are they like Cass?

AlpinePony · 13/11/2010 18:02

reggie laid a 7lb boy this morning! :)

Sooooo, who's next?
