We have now reached 2000 posts so need to start another thread.

That's a good point catherine, as well as all the crazy hormones and such we also have to deal with the yucky weather and seemingly constant darkness. I've heard good things about those daylight lamps.

rubberduckies I hope you had a nice day today, don't know where you found that sunshine though!

I've got my MW app tomorrow so have been madly cleaning the house as am convinced she is only coming round to judge me (and clearly she is liable to throw herself to the ground to count dustbunnies under the sofa at any moment!). Also got my scan app which I'm really excited about, it's on the 23rd Nov at 8am Shock

Hope everyone's ok today :)

NurseSunshine · 08/11/2010 18:02

Ooops x posts duckies, sorry about the dog poo. Though maybe that's the kind of thing you can look back on and laugh at? Grin

neenewps · 08/11/2010 18:07

Hi all

Sorry haven't posted for a couple of days. I'm sorry to hear about those of you with bad news. I hope you are all being supported by your loved ones and that you are taking time out for yourselves.

8rubberduckies I hope you feel better soon. And well done for still abstaining from the ciggies. Must be difficult when you are feeling low :(

I have managed to get a Urine infection so am now on antibiotics. Am slightly worried about taking them although the Dr did assure me that they were safe to take during pregnancy!

My boobs are still sore.. my nipples seem particularly sore at the moment. 2 weeks to my booking in and 5 weeks to my scan... Shock still an age to wait....!

takethatlady · 08/11/2010 18:32

Hey neenewps just to say I was on Keflex for a week for a UTI. Stopped taking them on Friday. As far as I can tell I'm still pregnant so I'm sure they're fine. I checked with the pharmacist and online too - all confirm it's safe!

Not much ms here (am 7+1). Had the odd bout of nausea and a couple of nasty retching moments, especially if hungry, but in general it's been fine. Hardly anything today, which was good because I was at work and vomiting on myself would not be a good look :)

8rubberduckies · 08/11/2010 18:38

NurseSunshine I am already laughing a little bit at getting covered in pooh, so things must be looking up Smile.

Catherine I have heard the lamps are good for staving off low moods in the depths of winter. I got told when I was (much) younger that having regular sunbeds in the winter had the same effect, so took this as permission to have one every couple of weeks from November til March Shock.

8rubberduckies · 08/11/2010 18:40

PS Nurse, it has been gloriously sunny here in the South West most of the day, until about 3pm.

NurseSunshine · 08/11/2010 18:41

Sunbeds are basically the same concept although obviously have to be used with caution. I think spending a min or two every week would be safe though possibly not that effective.

NurseSunshine · 08/11/2010 18:55

I am jealous duckies, jealous and damp Sad

Yes sunnyday, I can't stop thinking about it! I can't WAIT for my baby to be born :) I was in london at the wkend and went to see the fireworks on clapham common on friday and all I could think about was when I could take my baby to see fireworks!

GoodVibrations · 08/11/2010 20:18

Hello ladies,

Sorry for not posting in a while. I have been reading, and have been so sad about more losses on the thread, I just don't know what to write. I wish I could be some support but I hope that thinking about you all and wishing you the best for future pregnancies helps a little in some way.

I have positive news today, in that I have reached the 12 week milestone. They changed my dates at the last scan so I'm further along than I thought. I won't settle though until my Friday scan (which is combined 12 week and nuchal scan). However hopefully the news that 12 weeks is getting closer for you all is a little comfort.

Hope everyone is feeling a little better this evening.

bananarama05 · 08/11/2010 20:20

Just a little wave over here to say hi.

Not much to say today, been feeling pretty sicky but think that's more to do with my horrible chesty cold than MS and am worried I seem to have lost all my other symptoms too...

Wish I would find out when my scan is, Confused by my dates I'm 10+2 and still haven't heard a thing. Rang my mw last week who politely told me to stop being so impatient, I'll hear when I hear. Would just like something to focus on rather than just hanging on.

Here's to a better day tomorrow, hope you all feel a little better too, I swear this weathers enough to make the happiest person a little blue!

argylesocks · 08/11/2010 20:47

Had my booking appointment today and just a word of warning not to expect too much! the MW was cold and grumpy and did absolutely nothing to make me feel less anxious and actually told me that the thing i worry most about 'happens all the time' when I know for a fact that it does not!

Here's hoping the scan will be a bit of reassurance because I certainly didnt get it from the grouchy MW! A student sitting in even apologised and said she's not normally like that!

Minione · 08/11/2010 20:59

HI Ladies, sorry I haven't been around, we had an ofsted inspection last week and with that and the morning, noon and night sickness I've been pretty busy. My scan seems to have been moved forward to the 24th, I'll be 10 weeks then so a tad earlier. I'm hoping this will be the nuchal fold scan, I was told that I could have one.

I'll have to read the thread properly, hope everyone is ok, I am shattered!

Evening ladies. Like goodvibrations I just don't know what to say to everyone experiencing loss....(((hugs)))

I had my booking appointment today too. I know my MW quite well so when I declined all blood tests (she had the needle poised and ready and I just couldn't go through with it) she wasn't really surprised. The best bit was when my 3yo tried to move the enormous canteen of cutlery so she could feed her goldfish. I managed to catch it and explain about how if you drop something really heavy on your feet they break. MW then doled out the Rescue Remedy.

O I am glad people are beginning to get excited about taking their babies places. Just carefully re-read about 8rd's trip to get a hot chocolate. One person's treat is another's trauma. I feel your pain 8rubberduckies

Well, stupidly tired now, had my hot milk. Night night all.

clench234 · 08/11/2010 23:05

8rd, take care and definitely talk to your mw or gp about how you're feeling.
Understand completely everyone who is stressing although today have had a good day. Went to see physio cos had v bad spd last time. She was pleased with my alignment and my pelvic floor so was feeling v chuffed with myself for doing exercises. Bad news is that she wants me to start wearing my support belt so am going to struggle to wear it without anyone noticing. Have decided to tell my manager tomorrow so fingers crossed she's not too alarmed.
Interesting news on the symptom front is that my nipples have resumed the bfeeding shape, elongated and a bit slopey! Pg is the weirdest time!
Good luck for everyone waiting for scans.

neenewps · 09/11/2010 07:21

Gosh clench234 I had no idea about nipples changing shape. Mine had done exactly that yesterday and I thought it was weird but didn't bother to look it up so thank you :)

My boobs feel so heavy too....!!

How is everyone today?

stargirl30 · 09/11/2010 08:24

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing OK. I can't believe how quickly this thread moves, I'm struggling to keep up!
Well I'm 11+1 today according to my scan last week so I'm hoping the tiredness will subside in a week or so. I'm a bit fed up of going to bed with DD and sleeping through the whole evening :-)

Ooh here's some advice for first time mums that I thought of the other day. Don't do what I did and ebay all your pre-pregnancy clothes. I did this when DD was about 6 months as I thought my new curvier shape was here to stay! Lo and behold once I got to a year all the baby weight dropped off and I was back to my old shape :-)

(Another argument for extended breastfeeding!!!)

Hello everyone - room on the bus for one more? Had an 8wk scan yesterday (am having 2 wkly scans due to past losses) - and am feeling a bit more confident about sticking my head above the parapet.
Had a funny moment in the EPU when the nurse told us features the baby should be developing ATM. She mentioned that we should be able to see noticable ears...if you could see my DH you would know why we went quiet at that stage...anyway, she refused his request to measure them on the screen! Hope everyone else is ok and finding weird ways to stay sane!

yellowtomato · 09/11/2010 08:48

Morning all

Thanks for your words of support, I am feeling a little bit calmer today but not sure how long that will last! I decided to postpone midwife appt until after Thurs scan which is making me feel better esp when it has been so underwhelming for so many of you. I just didn't want to go through all blood tests/paperwork and then get bad news on Thurs.

So what's this about nipples? Mine haven't done anything at all but I was expecting change in colour, size, shape etc. When does this happen normally?

congrats goodvibrations on getting to that milestone, we're making progress!

How is everyone else this morning?

Humania good luck for scan today, what time is it?

mouffloncake · 09/11/2010 10:02

Hi all,

Just caught up on the past few days worth. Lots going on huh!

Can I have a few reassuring words & soft hugs?

I'm off to see my gp today for an emergency app, I'm 10+1 & have light pink slightly bloody discharge. I'm really frightened.
Still have m/s 24/7 but it's not as bad as it was in wk9.

Will the doc send me for a scan?

I'm still waiting for my 1st pregnancy related appointment & feel totally in the dark right now x

Moufflon thinking of you today, I can imagine I would feel exactly the same as you, but I am sure that everything will be fine. There could be a number of reasons for the bleeding, and remember that it is light and not heavy and painful, which is not such bad news. I am sure you will get the reassurance you need, and your doctor may well send you for a scan xx

You will all be glad to hear that our freak good weather is now officially over, as it is freezing, rainy and windy in Bristol now Sad.

I am feeling a bit better today, all of my symptoms seem to have eased a bit, I even managed to eat a full meal last night Shock. I am going to keep an eye on my mental state though and give the midwife a call if I start to feel worse again. It was very strange; a very short period of feeling so bad, but very intense all the same. Darned hormones.

Welcome to the thread and congratulations Jasmine! Smile

Congratulations on reaching 12 weeks GoodVibrations, I am very jealous envious.

Good luck to all of you with scans and appointments today Smile
