Bloody Boots!

3k · 24/10/2005 14:38

Hi Ladies,

I'm very tired after the show yesterday. Got midwife appointment in an hour so just going to have a late lunch then off over to docs.

Our 4d face scan didnt go to plan yesterday, our little boy went all shy and had an arm and a leg in front of his face!! Got one quick glimpse of his face and he looked really peed off!!!! Then it was all arms and legs so we only paid £15 in the end but it was nice to see the baby again and he is definately a boy!!! As the sonographer said "there's his cream crackers!!" I'm glad as a friend has given me loads of little boy clothes.

We bought a changing bag and a little light switch surround which was blue and had glow in the dark stars on. DH tested this out last night and it was great. Also ordered our pram and raincover from mothercare at 10% off!! Was very pleased. Free samples consisted of Avent samples, 2 cow and gate cuddly cows, a free teddy, a magnetic board which you write things on to remind you to do stuff, a few magnetic photo frames and a bottle of water!! Think that was it oh and some simple baby baby wipes, two dummies, 2 pens and £3 off mama tens, persil and comfort samples and there possibly could have been a few others I cant remember.

Lovely to meet Tictac, tabs and thell.

Right off to eat and see midwife - speak later on.

TicTac · 24/10/2005 14:55

I have just rememebred the other thing I bought!
A Skip-Hop changing bag!

Frizbe · 24/10/2005 15:06

Ok all of this buying has caused me to go out and do some!! well actually I had to go to get dd's birthday prezzie for next week anyway! we now have a Fisherprice thing that is kitchen one side and grocery store the other on sale in Toys r Us for £29.99 if anyone wants one, had originally gone into get the little tykes kitchen, but as they'd down priced it by £20 and put it in a newspaper pullout yesterday they'd all gone......
So whilst out I popped into mothercare and treated myself to another pair of fat trousers!! pity I'm not working anywhere I have to get dressed up at the mo, as they have some really nice stuff in

Bewitched · 24/10/2005 15:27

Chloe - if you're on here this afternoon then are you able to help at all with this ?
It's got links to the other relevant threads. Really worried about her.

Chloe55 · 24/10/2005 16:44

Been on email with Rhubarb. Apparantly Yorkie Girl is going to call in on her this afternoon and will keep us updated - I will let you know as soon as I know anything.

Chloe55 · 24/10/2005 16:47

Would go myself but I fear that seeing me (pg) might be too much and I'm crap in those situations.

Frizbe · 24/10/2005 19:44

Looks like Amandas ok folkes, just in case you were worrying, just all a bit much so soon.

TicTac · 24/10/2005 22:30

Thanks for the update Frizbe. I posted on her thread so I hope she will read some of the messages rather then feel she has to reply.

Had 2nd NCT class tonight. It was all about labour.

poppyh · 25/10/2005 08:31

Hi There,
Just to let you all know i had my scan last night and its a GIRL!!!
Was convinced I was having a boy!Am very pleased to be having another girl though as they will have to share a bedroom, so now I can decorate it really girly!!

Chloe55 · 25/10/2005 08:38

Seriously? Another girl? Amazing! Congratulations Poppy. I had a dream last night I was having a little girl and she had this moptop of red hair! Very weird considering I supposedly having a boy.

Chloe55 · 25/10/2005 08:39

Did they give you any interesting info on the labour class you'd like to share TicTac?

Frizbe · 25/10/2005 08:43

Yeah Poppy H another girl

JuA · 25/10/2005 08:57

Congrats Poppy on your girl!
I have a hospital appt at 10am and dd is feeling very sorry for herself - she is lying on the sofa watcing cbeebies - it is so unlike her as normally she looses interest after about 5 minutes! so I can see it is going to be a fun morning!

Bewitched · 25/10/2005 09:01

Blimey - another girl!! Congratulations poppyh.

Yeah TicTac - share your top tips for labour then - we haven't covered that yet.

Was pleased to see the post from Amanda last night and to read that she isn't about to do anything stupid.

Very tired and a bit achey myself today - postman got me up this morning with a parcel and I thought it must be really early, then realised that it was only 2 mins before my alarm was due to go off anyway!

flamebat · 25/10/2005 09:16

I had a much better day with the aching yesterday. Starting to think it will be a miracle if this baby is a boy - the odds seem sooo against it!!!!!!

Chloe55 · 25/10/2005 09:21

Yay! My baby is a miracle! (I always knew he would be )

Chloe55 · 25/10/2005 09:22

Watch him be a girl now and that little todger I saw was actually his arm in the way or something!!

flamebat · 25/10/2005 09:50

Nah, been looking at the stats, and its not actually as weird as we think - we have about 25 mums... we know the sex of about 15 babies (as far as I can tell)... so it could just be that all the ones we don't know the sex of are the boys - which will make it even up.

Chloe55 · 25/10/2005 10:04

Well I prefer the sound of my baby being a miracle you big realist Flame!

flamebat · 25/10/2005 10:15

Sorry - he is still a miracle anyway. They have gone through so much already, and won't even be in the world for another few months!

Scientist in me made me check the figures though

Bewitched · 25/10/2005 10:19

Talking of which, I guess it's time we started a new thread now that everyone's had their scans, and I can put a new stats update on it with all the flavours that we know.

Anyone got a good idea for a title?

flamebat · 25/10/2005 10:24

The longest mile?

Bewitched · 25/10/2005 10:25

Are you implying that the next few weeks aren't going to fly by ??

flamebat · 25/10/2005 10:28

oops - did I just burst your bubble?

No no, it will fly by, and it will be Feb before you know it

Actually, I think we're on the best time of year to be pregnant... if we focus on Christmas rather than babies, then that always comes really fast, and then after that it is just another 4 - 8 weeks (depending on dates) until we have squishy things to cuddle.

The hardest bit is going to be for people like me and Frizbe, who see you having yours, and then sitting here for what seems like another year, waiting for ours to come out!!!
