Due July 2011?

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Thanks LadyGoneGaga and BeatrixRotter for the brah-fitting advice. I had heard Bravissimo is good, but thought they tailored specifically for the larger sizes? Would not like to be laughed out of the shop with my mere B-cup...Blush Would gladly try them if reassured this would not be the case :)

Regarding the birth month of school children: I don't imagine for a minute July babies would be at any disadvantage, other than perhaps having their birthday parties in the holidays! My own birthday is in September, and I was the youngest in the class (meaning I started school when I was not quite 4). Academically it certainly never held me back, although perhaps my emotional development was slightly behind my peers. This I only noticed when make-up, nail-varnish and boys became interesting to me a bit later that they did to my friends! However, that is an issue that varies enormously from person to person anyway, so hardly worth taking into account.

BeatrixRotter · 22/11/2010 18:48

You might be right smiler think maybe they start from a D cup. Unless of course you are underestimating your prowess, I always wore a 34c and for first pregnancy fitting ended up with a 30F.

I did have a good fitting in Debehnams on Oxford Street.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/11/2010 18:56

Smiler I started out as a 34B. Through my first pregnancy I progressed to 36G (as measured by M&S). I now go to Bravissimo and am a 30DD (still nursing but think am a cup or two bigger than when started). You'll find they put you in a smaller back size and bigger cup at Bravissimo. But if you wait a few weeks you will most prob have a bigger pair of norks anyway so can happily go there.

Whatever though they are very, very nice and professional and am sure won't laugh you out of the shop!

General rule is you go up a back size as your ribcage will expand as baby grows. And you need a soft cup (non-underwired) as a badly fitting underwire can put pressure on your milk ducts and damage them. Joy.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the advice about my hip/pelvic pain confuddled & Lady - I'll be sure to mention it to the MW. I got in from work about 3pm, have been shopping, put shopping away made dinner and lunches for tomorrow done a wash inbetween and now it really hurts!!!!! I have suffered with sciatica in the past too!!!

I'm very interested in the whole bra thing - I don't think I'll survive without wearing underwires - do I really need to get non-underwired bras - the thought fills me with drea, I'm already an E cup!!!!

As for the whole age thing - like Lady I was born mid August. We lived in Scotland until I was 5 so by the time we moved to England all the kids at school had already been there a year and I had never been to school!!! Anyway I was behind a little yes, but eventually caught up and its never been a draw back for me. I was always a bright kid at school too, top of the class usually - we are Leo's afterall Grin .

xx

I cant stop eating!!! I think today is the start of 9 months of wanting constant flavour in my mouth to mask the disgusting pregnancy taste.
I was thinking, anyone got any suggestions for healthy snack options that hit the spot. Maybe we could share them? All i seem to want to eat is strong flavour food. I could ohave easily sunk my teeth into a tie curry this evening and that was after id had a huge dinner. So far today i had apple crumble for breakfast, a large pack of fruit gums, pizza, two choc bars, half a jar of olives, spag bol, satsumas, another two chos bars, more olives, and now im sinking my teeth into some wotsits. Im going to be the size of a house in a month let a lone 9 nine!! Eeeeek!! Hmm x x

emilyplus1 · 22/11/2010 19:41

Like you the thought of not wearing a wired bra fills me with fear! I wore underwired bras all through my 1st n it didnt do my milk supply any harm I managed 2 brestfeed 4 the first 6mths with plenty 2 spare they do say that ur not ment 2 tho.

As for the school age thing i dnt think i makes 1 bit of diffrence. I was born in nov so started school at 4 n i dont think I was any diffrent to any of the other kids n I dnk think that my kids will be at any disadvantage being born in july. I think that your freind was just tryin to make her daugher sound very bright 4 her age n dont dought that she isnt 4 1 min but that is such a silly thing 2 say in the 1st place I bet she will b very embaressed when she finds out that ur due in july x :)

isthatreally I am starving too!

I am just eating constantly. I have found mixed almonds and fruit a good snack. Fruit porridge a good, filling breakfast too. I am resigned to eating all the time, just worried about how we are going to afford it.

So far today I have eaten:
fruit porridge
orange juice
yogurt and
raisins
a smoothie
pasta with chicken and sweetcorn
rice krispies
peaches
an oat bar
2 squares of choclate
a couple of wine gums
crisps
a caramel wafer
4 slices of ham
some cheese
nuts
raisins
chips
5 fish fingers
peas and sweetcorn
wholegrain
a milkshake

and I'm still hungry Confused how is this possible??

buttonmoon78 · 22/11/2010 19:59

Am suddenly feeling all excited! Had a little moment thinking about little sleepsuits etc and got all squishy!

I know deep down that DH will get a new job soon. I just need to have a little faith!

fallingandlaughing · 22/11/2010 20:00

oh and some pretzels Grin

fallingandlaughing · 22/11/2010 20:01

buttonmoon it's great isn't it?

My DP is unemployed too, but we've just got to hang on in there. Things will work out somehow.

buttonmoon78 · 22/11/2010 20:02

X post with falling!

I always lose weight when pg. I've eaten

porridge
roasted veg
1 small flapjack
boiled ham, cheesy leeks, left over roast spuds

When pg I'm just not that hungry! Is v odd cos I normally spend my whole life gnawing my own arm off...

buttonmoon78 · 22/11/2010 20:02

Now that we're on the subject though, the peanuts in the cupboard are calling me...

fallingandlaughing · 22/11/2010 20:04

Ha I'm the opposite. Usually have quite a small appetite.

isitreallythattime · 22/11/2010 20:06

Brilliant! How funny - Falling I am loving your food consumption today! Some of which is quite healthy! Smile.

buttonmoon lucky you - wish i wasnt eating us out of house and home x x

fallingandlaughing · 22/11/2010 20:14

Why thanks!

My newly bought book "What to expect when you're expecting" gives encouragement to think of everything you eat as a chance to nourish the baby, but today I crumbled as I was just too hungry! Now having peaches and yogurt...

My Mum thinks I am having twins because I already have wee bit of a tummy. I have a feeling it is just good old-fashioned fat.

nicolamumof3 · 22/11/2010 20:16

last week i was starving, really craving salty stuff, and wanted chinese noodles all the time. Then my sickness kicked in as i hit 6wk on saturday. Im now bearing up and back to normal i'd say.

Im a mummy of a July baby already. I was bit concerned about him starting school..just filled in his application for Sept.11, But as his brother is already in reception im sure he'll be more than ready when the time comes.

isitreallythattime · 22/11/2010 20:47

Chinese food is all I fancy at moment. Whys that? x

isitreallythattime · 22/11/2010 20:48

How odd, all i fancy at the moment is chinese food, how odd!x x

nicolamumof3 · 22/11/2010 20:49

lol i think its the salt!!

isitreallythattime · 22/11/2010 20:49

Not going mad, double posted in error!

jigglebum · 22/11/2010 21:01

Hi everyone. Glad to hear I am not the only one eating all the time. I feel fat already! I have a job interview tomorrow (not great timing with being 6/7 weeks pregnant and just moved house) but my standard interiew skirt does not fit! I can get it on and DH says it looks fine but feel like I am being cut in half around the middle - will have to resort to something else I think.

I will feel bad if I get the job and then have to tell them in a couple of months I am pregnant but it is a freelance, very part time job and I will be able to work up to June at least so I think it will be ok. Feel rather too tired to motivate myself for it unfortunately and is anyone else suffering from pregnancy rhinitis? ie a very blocked up nose, especially at night. I am and it is not going to do my presentation skills much good tomorrow!

We still have not told anyone in RL yet. Reckon I will last another couple of weeks before we tell my mum and dad and MIL but you never know! What about you guys?

highheelsandequations · 22/11/2010 21:24

Had 4th early scan today and pleased to report all looks well. Everything present and correct including strong heartbeat :) Measurements seem to confirm I'm roughly 7 weeks I think.

Also glad to hear I'm not the only one eating everything in sight! Have to stop going to the supermarket to pick up the odd thing as well as I've been walking out with half the shop :o I used to be fairly healthy and eat loads of fresh fruit and veg but now I seem to be living on various cominations of biscuits, cheese, pastries and bread!

Interested reading all the bra fitting advice. I'm starting to burst out of mine already but am putting off getting anything new just yet. Can any of you experienced ladies tell me when I should bite the bullet and trade in my la senza?

jiggle I told my mum and dad last week as I needed someone to talk to with all the worry. Have also confided in one friend/colleague who knew everything we've been through with the fertility clinic etc. for similar reasons.

nicolamumof3 · 22/11/2010 22:01

great news highheels re the scan must be so reassurring. Wish i could afford a private one before xmas.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/11/2010 22:01

Lovely your scan went well, Highheels. Grin

Get a new bra when your normal ones are too uncomfortable. Comfort is all in pregnancy!

nicolamumof3 · 22/11/2010 22:06

i really rate the carriwell soft bra's going to get back into mine tonight. Not hugely attractive but so so comfortable. Just nice and soft and will fit whilst you go through a few sizes.
