New trimester, new thread. Here's to us becoming grumpy, impatient, fat and uncomfy while counting down the days... :o [hhmm] :o

cupcakes how did you give your folks swine flu if you've had the jab!? How horrible, hope they feel better soon and yes good job you got yourself dossed up on antibiotics.

ami I had the jab back in Sept, just couldn't face the thought of getting flu during pregnancy so just had it and tried not to worry. I had no side affects but I know some people do.

Thanks for the info on the vest under bodysuit, think I need some more vests then and mat pads! Am with you cupcakes am starting to think about all this post birth stuff now and thinking hmmmm Xmas Hmm not sure about all this.

bubba you made me laugh about FIL eating, my grandad bless him can't eat anything without slurping it two inches from the cutlery - even cups of tea are sucked up like a hoover, really does make me feel SO ill.

Think DH and I might have agreed a girls name and down to 2 on the boys names, this is REAL progress from being in total deadlock about it, very excited!

LadyBuzz · 30/12/2010 09:54

Bubba not long left now - hang on in there lady!

My bags are packed! If I aint got it i'm not taking it!

fuzzy hope all is going well with the potty training. It is such fun Wink
We decided to wait until after this one came but DS2 appears to have other ideas and will not wear a nappy at home, he is quite good but i'm not pushing him for full time dryness just yet - I don't think I could take bending down that much Grin
DS1 was a doddle, and dry at night 2 weeks later which he basically did himself - I'm NOT expecting the same from DS2 he is a very different child.

BubbaAndBump · 30/12/2010 10:00

Bags packed LadyB good work!

Zippy I think DH and I are at a stalemate with names but we did buy a car yesterday, so some agreements are being reached Xmas Hmm

Hours to go - they've decided to leave today so they can get back in time for NY celebrations tomorrow (so next time they're ocmplaining about not seeing the girls for a long time, I'll remind them of leaving early this time and last - when they wanted to get back in time to see the tall boats come sailing in to Hartlepool! (WTF?! Xmas Hmm)

OP posts:
CupcakesHay · 30/12/2010 11:29

zippy i think i must have given it to them when I had my jab - as there's some of it in there isn't there?

I'm so pleased i decided on a name back in June - one less thing for me to worry about.

Aaah bubba just think though - finally going. And they've given great ammunition nex time they whinge about not seeing the grandkids.

My DH just sent me an email picking about buying a monitor. I spent ages researching bloody baby monitors, and deciding which one I want and which one had a good range for the house in syria - and now it's just emailled me with a complete different one. Grr - why can't he just get the one we agreed on?

Well done on bags ladybuzz!

Can i ask - what does that SPD feel like? I've done something to my right hippy area... and it's making me walk funny and really hurts to walk on. Kind of makes me feel like a old lady and I have a bit of a limp? I'm sure it can't be SPD but then what else can it be? It's been like this for 4 days with no obvious signs of getting better...

RunningKatie · 30/12/2010 19:18

Oh the crying - I sobbed my heart out at ET the other day, then last night at the thought of the bump not kicking me any longer and DP being out in the fog........

Still got the cold, despite administering dark chocolate orange. We're off to buy some cot sheets tomorrow, as well as finishing off the shopping for the hospital bag. I don't have anything like enough maternity pads from the sounds of it.

Much sympathies too on the in-laws front, thankfully mine are quite sane and sensible. My parents on the other hand Hmm

BubbaAndBump · 30/12/2010 19:55

I'm sobbing my way through Eastenders as I type Xmas Blush Xmas Hmm with two babies being born! Blinking hormones... Xmas Grin

OP posts:
Pootle78 · 30/12/2010 20:18

Another one sobbing here at nothing! Last night was the fear of the unknown, what if I'm a rubbish mum and today the route of all evil - money!

Went on a major shopping spree yesterday and the only thing I am missing is maternity pads! If anyone has a Wilkinsons near them always have a £1 knocked off all types so cheapest I have seen them.

Tomorrow is baby clothes washing day which is quite scarey!!!

CupcakesHay · 30/12/2010 20:31

All i could think of during Eastenders was bugger that'll be me soon and then in next thought - hope mine is as easy as that. Then my mum pointed out it wsa second babies for both of them. Damn my mum! Xmas Grin

Going shopping next week to finish off last of mat bag - need more maternity pads, a few more drinks - and just waiting for my nighties that I ordered start of dec to get delivered - if not it's a crappy long t-shirt for me!

And i'm with you pootle on the rubbish mum front!

running think you're obviously not eating enough Chocolate orange...! If i didn't have to fight my mum for it, i'd def manage a whole one.

Got my nice new fluffy dressing gown delivered today - not taking it to hospital but saving it for those night feeds!

And finally finished my essay Grin - with a whole entire 4 days to spare! Eeek!

Also - pleased so far Eastenders haven't nicked my baby name - that's all i need at thsi point is it to be "stolen" by a celeb!

BubbaAndBump · 30/12/2010 20:43

I've worn one of my DH's old shirts before and plan to again with this one - soppy old git that I am (if you dig deep enough Xmas Grin)

OP posts:
CupcakesHay · 30/12/2010 22:25

Aaah - that's lovely bubba - sadly i'm a big girl so no chance of fitting in Dh's tops - even with his "sympathetic" pregnancy weight he's put on!

Crystylline · 31/12/2010 07:39

Hi All,

Back home again and overwhelming desire to tidy, sort and clean everything... (when I'm no longer pregnant, I'd like to have this feeling please!)

BUT, broken washing machine... gah!

You all sound like you're nesting/prepping too...

This phase feels better than the earlier tired/grumpiness bit that I had a few weeks ago.

Cupcakes re: SPD - It feels like crampy, sore bones. You'll have limited mobility, possibly some creaky, popping or clicking and pain when you try and turn the muscles out. I only have it very mildy, but it hurts and is very, very annoying.

Pootle money is evil and only exists as little numbers (very little and usually negative numbers in my case) on spreadsheets. it's the only way I can deal with it! meh.

Hadn't even vaguely considered the "what to wear whilst in labour" conundrum, though I'd best go find something - that or end up starkers... ah well.

Off to go poach the last of the sales bargains today... wish me luck! I hate pointy-elbowed bargain hunters... unless it's me with the pointy-elbows Grin

LadyBubbaAndBump · 31/12/2010 09:36

Glad you're feeling a bit better crystylline and if you have any spare energy, can you come and tidy up after my two (plus husband)? Ta love! :)

Also, starkers is probably how you'll end up, but if you have to walk from triage down to the labour rooms, you may want to be vaguely decent although you may well be beyond caring. At one point with DD1 I was on my hands and knees on the bed, fat arse waving about in the air and completely starkers, and there must have been at least seven non-related people in the room with me at the time! Xmas Blush

FloraPost · 31/12/2010 17:20

Wow, lots here to catch up on. Sounds like everyone's properly ready and raring to go. Bubba you are a saint to put up with those PILs of yours. Well done on finishing your assignment Cupcakes.

I spent this afternoon strapped to a monitor at the hospital and playing boggle on DP's ipad, and have to do the same every day from now on (boggle optional). A further scan today shows the placenta is struggling although the heartbeat and movements look ok. If the readings deteriorate they will induce me Sad. Could be carnage given that kegels aren't really happening because Tiny Flora is so low, and that perineal massage is impossible because of cursed carpal tunnel. No sicking since Tuesday though Smile.

Does anyone have any nice plans for NYE? DP & I are having a smoochy night in for a change - our 9th NYE together and our last just the two of us.

Poor you Flora - what a pain. I know it's not helpful to hear, but they'll be doing wheatever's best for you and for baby.

No fun plans for us tonight, I'm making a big curry for me and DH once the girls are asleep.

My nesting is just weird - I've just built a 5-storey shoe rack - and am putting up more hooks for yet more coats. Blinkin' children keep growing and needing clothing. Apparently it's not the done thing to let them be starkers all day every day!! Xmas Grin

Got our new car today - baby seat is now in it so I can go into labour. Except not tonight as our emergency contact people for the DDs will be boozing it up Xmas Envy

LadyBubbaAndBump · 31/12/2010 19:14

wheatever??!! I meant, of course, whatever. No wheat needed here. Soooooo tired Xmas Blush

FloraPost · 01/01/2011 07:53

Happy new year all!

We are lucky jjkm, the hospital is 10 minutes' drive away so no bother to get up there. The only faff is that the midwifery day assessment unit is closed for the bank holiday weekend, so I have to phone the delivery suite each day (in about 10 mins in fact) to find out what time to come in. Thus can't really plan to do other stuff this w/e.

Spent most of the night reading and fretting about early induction - doesn't sound good. We will see the consultant on Wednesday so will try to hold off giving birth further panicking until then.

I don't think staying at work another 2 weeks is realistic now Sad. Hopefully the placenta will hold out long enough for me to join you all in nesting! God knows the house could do with a bit of that Grin.

Crystylline · 01/01/2011 09:03

hope everything goes ok Flora.

I've seen a fair bit of the hospital/labour ward over the last few weeks and it's not the most fun (and the food sucks), but my comfort was being able to hear and see a bit more of the bump from the scans and monitors.

I've got my next day in on Tuesday and hoping that I won't end up stuck there permanently until the baby comes. But have resigned myself to the fact that it would be the best place to be if complications are still ongoing.

bubba happy to come tidy up! Need something to do after cleaning and folding all these clothes! I hadn't realised just how much stuff I had until now. At what point can I politely ask people not to buy me anymore of XXX?

Hope everyone had a nice New Year. I was a bit of a wuss - went out for dinner, then couldn't cope with the noise, lots of people etc and just wanted to lay on a sofa eating chocolate... so came home, put my PJs on and watched the TV. Was nice though in a funny way.

CupcakesHay · 01/01/2011 10:47

Ooh flora a bit of a nightmare for you - but at least they are keeping an eye on it, and at least you aren't having to stay in.

Well done on the shoe rack ladybuzz - i can just picture all those dinky shoes!

jjkm I think i had normal/bad cold infection or whatever, but because of my flu jab, which always contains a tiny dose of swine flu/flu that I passed it onto parents... and I don;t like the sound of the whole pushing the car thing - even not being pregnant Grin

I went out last night - stupid hip and all (haven't decided if it is this SPD thing - but whatever it is - old people walk faster than me at the moment!) but got seat in pub - saw in new year and then drove me and parents home and left Bro and SIL in pub. but was quite good fun - and got serenaded by a young man singing baby baby and generally telling me how beautiful i looked pregnant Blush which did no end of good to my general happiness as missing DH and general feeling crap! He was drunk though! Grin But I was quite pleased when my dad (who's still really ill) asked if i'd mind driving him home at 12.30.... i was dead pleased! I felt sorry for my dad, I know he only went out for my bro - and not sure my bro appreciated that.

Aah crystylline hope you don't have to stay in til baby's born. I know whatever they decide is best for baby, but still nicer to be at home. Love the sound of your PJs and chocolate new year.

As for nesting - finding it harder and harder to move - so any nesting will have to wait. My SIL moaned about how messy my room was here - and i really had to bite my lip. I've crammed all my stuff, and baby's stuff into 1 bedroom with 1 chest of drawers, 2 bedside cabinets and under bed storage - it's like a f-ing tardis - and she had the audacity to say it was messy! I asked her why she thought that - it was cos my towel and a carrier bag (for my dirty washing) were hanging behind the door Angry

Anyhwo - rant over with! HAPPY NEW YEAR and let all our 2011 babies pop out easily!

Pootle78 · 01/01/2011 10:51

Happy New Year Everyone our month has arrived!!!

Flora glad little flora is ok and although it is a pain to go to the hospital, the end result will be soooooo worth it! Having been at home for the last week, I couldn't even contemplate having to go back to work next week!

Another one here that could do with your help on the nesting front Bubba dh keeps threatening to send the mil round to do it for me! I'm doing some washing today but apparently it's bad luck, oh well too late now!

Keep your chin up Crystyl it sounds like you are having a really tough time, but at least now the end is in sight.

We stayed in last night, think it was the first time in 25 years I have not been out Shock although glad we didn't, had a curry and threw it all back up again Sad, you would have thought after 4 curry's with the same outcome I would have learnt by now!!!

My ankles started to swell last night so have also taken of my wedding ring, just in case, but they seem to have settled now.

Plan for today washing, drying, packing my bag and dh is finishing the nursery if we find somewhere open that sells paint brushes!

Have a good day!

LadyBuzz · 01/01/2011 11:48

Happy New Year to everyone!

We went out briefly last night to visit PIL at the barn they go to for Country and Western dos Hmm it was fun and the boys loved, then we came home with pizzas and saw the New year in with SIL and DN - I was in bed by 12:05 Grin

flora how crap for you, hope everything is ok!

CupcakesHay · 01/01/2011 12:59

pootle your plan for today sounds spot on, on the nesting front! Good girl!

Just spoke to Dh and even he said he was looking forward to the baby coming! Trust me - that's pretty amazing for him! Grin

And the barn and pizzas sounded fun ladybuzz

Crystylline · 01/01/2011 15:54

wow pootle hadn't really hit me that it was our month already!

so, are we taking bets on who's next?

thanks for support guys. it's weird, cos I feel fine most of the time, except the tiredness hits earlier in the day. so glad mat leave has started so i can get some daytime sleep in everyday.

everyone's New Years sound lovely (except for the curry incident).

so what other joys do you think we have to come over the next few weeks?

swelling? nausea? diaorrhea?

oh and labour!

then... bundles of loveliness.

FloraPost · 01/01/2011 16:17

Haha Pootle, I keep doing the same thing with food. Just think; in six weeks' time at the absolute most it WILL stay down!

Monitoring fine today, back again tomorrow. The midwife said that if readings stay good like today's, they might leave him in til the due date (with daily monitoring obv.) but not let me go over! Clouds part, sunlight blazes, trumpets sound, etc.

Sounds like you could be next out the traps Crystylline. Might they whip the LO out early if they are keeping such a close eye on you? I think the babies are all technically cooked by now, no?

Crystylline · 01/01/2011 16:39

fab news Flora!!

eek...! at the thought of me being next. I truly hope I have the same story to tell as you after Tuesday.

I'd be quite happy to go in for monitoring everyday if it meant I could actually come home for the night - sleeping in the ante natal ward is virtually impossible - lots of noisy women in labour!! Grin
