Oh Loopy yes!!! shite tv whilst bf rules! DD will be at nursery two mornings a week by then so it'll be heavenly and also those late night feeds go by quicker with a little viewing. I won't have anything except a kids film, cbeebies or deal or no deal on when DD is around. Can't vouch for what DH lets her watch though! Oh add Frasier and Everybody loves Raymond to the list actually!

Helenabing · 29/10/2010 20:42

haha raymond surely has to be allowed - but are you sure about Noel Edmonds?! Grin

southpacificfish · 29/10/2010 20:45

She loves watching Deal or no deal!!! no accounting for taste!

Cowboy sex? What's that? Loopy, I'm with you - minimal between BFP and finishing breastfeeding, which last time was at 9 months. That'd be 18 months of v limited action then...

southpacificfish · 29/10/2010 21:06

The boys just don't understand the demands on our bodies what with growing babies, feeding them and generally meeting the demands of everybody else before our own needs (which we are usually too tired to do by the end of the day). You're right roller on top of everything else we don't fancy it until our body belongs to us again!

What a moaning minnie I am tonight Grin

Here you go to a gynae first, and she just did the internal scan, didn't even try the other one first, I was pretty shocked...

I am feeling a bit down and unsure about everything today. I think it is because I didn't see the baby move. The doctor and DH did, I think I was so overwhelmed I couldn't take anything in. Maybe also as quite a few early tests happening next week.

So much to bloody worry about! When do we get to relax and enjoy it???

Sounds like you lot have great weekend plans!
:)

Hi everyone, apologies for silence for a few days and I'm going to be a bit rubbish and not namecheck, but:

Big congrats to all newbies and especially everyone who's had happy scan news. It's so lovely that they're rolling in now and everyone's OK so far.

My stomach is ridiculously big for 13+1, I know I've put on a few pounds but my waist has gone up about 4 inches so there's no way that's all just the extra food! Am still in one non-mat pair of jeans but not sure for how long, currently wearing mat ones and oh so much more comfy. Have also been buying various jersey dresses from Next/Gap/Topshop, though prob a bit premature for them just now. I hate this stage when you're too big for normal clothes but not pregnant enough for most maternity ones.

DD seems to think there's a baby in her tummy and dh's as well as mine. I think we have some way to go there.

Have really thought I could feel some movement the last day or two, but didn't feel a thing till 17 weeks last time so this must be way too early. I'm very windy too Blush so probably just that!

Oooh and my due date seems to be 6th now, not sure when that happened, but there are loads of us due that day (I'd say it doesn't mean anything, but spent the whole of my due date last time in labour and dd was born 90 mins into the next day...). Mind you by that score, this pg being bang on 12 weeks ahead of the last one, I should be due on 4th. 5th is my wedding anniversary so REALLY hoping not then.

fijibaby · 31/10/2010 06:10

Hello Ladies,

Apologies for not namechecking... am in awe of Loopymumsy for keeping on top of everyone's news.

Haven't been on for a while as have ben feeling really rubbish. Nausea is in full swing, I'm completely shattered ALL the time and a change in weather here has given me dreadful headache which gets worse whenever I stand up/sit down/bend over... am hoping it is just change in atmospheric pressure and not brain aneurysm Grin but it makes picking up the cherub pretty trying.

Have booked scan and bloods for nuchal screening and the air tickets to get there... saved $200 (NZ$) by not being organised enough to book them when I first looked... by the time I got around to it there were cheaper seats on the flight I wanted YAY! Smile

Am very impressed by all the HBers. My sister had DS3 at home and loved it and considering the tiny amount of intervention I needed with DS I'm probably a prime candidate but everything went so smoothly last time and a large part of me says just do it where they have all the gear and make use of someone else's towels! Loopy best of luck with your decision making about HB you have so many factors affecting your choice. I hope you are able to select the one that works best for you.

Oh and in answer to the question you asked AGES ago... DH changed his mind about another DC after 2wks in hospital and 3wks convalescing in NZ. I'd always made it really clear that I would love another but we'd made a deal that if he went ahead with the vasectomy reversal he'd get to choose how many we had. He's ancient (52) and had concerns about how he'd cope with a houseful of hormonal teenagers just as he was slipping gently into retirement! In the end the appeal of having 2 who might entertain each other was too great and so here we are!

zinnia my baby is due on my wedding anniversary! Would rather it arrived before or after but we'll just have to wait and see!

So lovely to hear about all the scan news - it is really wonderful to think about all those little beans growing well.

QwertyQueen · 31/10/2010 08:51

jbells, I am also due 26th May :)

I wanted to do a waterbirth again but apparently the hospital stopped doing them 2 years ago as a few had gone wrong in SA :(
You can stay in the water until the head crowns and then it is out to deliver on dry land!

Off to a halloween market now, but DS refusing to wear the skeleton outfit I bought him grrrrr!

HotButteredToast · 31/10/2010 10:22

Yes, well, Loopymumsy, I was doing alright on the virtuous cravings until last night. Dragged myself off the sofa and attempted to restore some semblance of elegance for a friend's party. My husband bought me a lovely vintage dress for my birthday the other week but last night was the first and I think last time for a while that I'll be able to wear it, what with expanding babe and thus belly. Anyhoo, having squeezed into aforesaid frock and armed with smelling salts should attack of the vapours strike what with reduced amount of oxygen now coursing through my bloodstream, made it to crowded, noisy bar for the bash. Lasted until about midnight and then emerged into Clapham in the midst of Halloween chaos.

On a tangent, so glad I'm off the grog. The inelegance of the 1st trimester is NOTHING in comparison to the indignity of bottle blondes dressed as ghosts of negotiable virtue so drunk that they're spewing their guts out whilst revealing their sizeable arses and not so sizeable knickers. Awful beyond words.

But back to the lapse in virtuous cravings.

Walked past one of those deep fried chicken shops.

I've never been in one before. Ever.

Until last night.

One deep fried chicken roll with double fried chips AND a tango later...

Oh the guilt.

Dress now officially doesn't fit and have smothered myself in tzatziki this morning to atone for my deep fried chicken sins.

Rollercoasteryears · 31/10/2010 11:13

Fiji and Zinnia I'm due on my (first) wedding anniversary! People keep saying how lovely that is, but I really want to avoid it - how are DH and I supposed to go away for our 5th/10th etc anniversary if it means missing DC2s b'day?! Clearly not ideal imo...

Am also in awe of Loopy's impressive namechecking skills - loopy, either you have a phenomenal memory or you actually make notes as you go through everyone's posts!

Hotbuttered I'm v amused by the picture you paint of Clapham on Hallowe'en Saturday - sounds classy! I think the hangover-free smugness that accompanies not drinking is really the only silver lining though... You have made me crave tzatziki now though! We've just had our first ever breadmaker delivered - I foresee several months of troughing down fresh baked bread and butter Grin Ooh, fresh baked bread and tzatziki - now we're talking Wink

cowboylover · 31/10/2010 11:41

Oh my I have not had Tzatziki in way to long!! I really Need some now

I am noticing some big differences with seeing through sober eyes when out on the weekends. I really can't handle the drunken bitchiness so lost my cool more than a little at my friends houseparty which ended up with 3 crying my lucky for me the hostess laughted so much she said it was coming for weeks and being sober and tired meant I didn't hold back as I should!!!

On a better note I went shopping with my mum and saw a gorgeous Norton travel system that I just got to have x

Sorry for such a me post and way off loopys skills! I hope you all have a good weekend x

mslucy · 31/10/2010 12:35

HBT

I love your fried chicken story - I can totally relate to that as I adore Nandos and quite easily myself descending into the culinary hell of Chicken Cottage during this pg.

Feeling less sick than I was a week or two ago - just bone crushingly tired. Had fish and chips last night then crashed out at about 7:30, which was lucky as DS2 woke at 5:20 (4:20 new time) this morning.

Locked myself in DHs home office to do some work this morning - better go in now and face the hoardes. Grin

Halloween party tonight - DS1 & DS2 dressed in Asda's finest (I'm far too lazy to make my own costumes and they love a bit of tat!!!)

mslucy · 31/10/2010 12:36

should read "see myself descending" - brain fog strikes again!

Rollercoasteryears · 31/10/2010 13:11

Just braved Sunday Sainsbury's hell with toddler (normally do all shopping online!) to acquire breadflour, yeast and tzatziki. DH is being sent to investigate the breadmaker now... Grin

Cowboy you've been going out at weekends?! I'm impressed. My last evening out was at the end of August... I'm hoping for better things from the second trimester though!

IheartRPatz · 31/10/2010 18:30

This is going to be a TMI post, so if you scare easily, move along!

Was starting to feel a little better (less sick and less fatigued) on Saturday. Had a nice relaxing day, went to my mums, had dinner there, opened my christmas shopping deliveries, came home, watched the x factor, lounged in bed, fell asleep. At 12:00 I woke up to go to the loo, and I knew something was wrong as I was heading to the toilet. I went to the loo and there was so much blood. It was literally gushing, some clots too. I called DH up, he came upstairs to find me on the loo, covered in blood, bloody hands etc. Rang the midwife for some advice, they said I must go to A&E. Called FIL who came up to watch DD, and headed off to A&E.
A&E on a Saturday night, the Halloween week end... it was joyous. Luckily I fit right in with the bloody scene. Was transferred to the Gyne ward about three in the morning (DH got to stay with me). Had a few tests (bloods etc) and was told they'd scan me in the morning. Had an internal exam (joyous) and was told the entrance to the womb was close, but couldn't tell me anything else.
Horrendous nights sleep, couldn't get comfy as they had put one of those needle things in my arm that they use to take blood / give drugs, but it was right on the crease of my arm so I could not put it anywhere without it hurting. DH tried to sleep sitting up on a chair.
Went for a scan in the morning, still bleeding. I was expecting it to be just a formality due to the volume of blood. The consultant scanning was very quiet as she did the scan, I was just staring at the ceiling. She said "I'll finish scanning then I'll talk to you" and started making notes of measurements. Then she said "okay, here's the baby... there's the heartbeat..."
Was totally shocked and overwhelmed.
Placenta is intact, everything around the baby is intact, and the baby tucked away waving a hand. Measured at 11 weeks 6 days.

So, they let me out of hospital, telling me I should take it easy, and go back should the bleeding get any more severe (when I went into hospital, everytime I went for a wee, there was loads of blood in the sample, whereas this morning the blood was just when I wiped and not too much on the pads).

I'm going to post this as a separate thread for some advice but thought I would keep you all updated.
