Hello - quick pop in again I'm afraid.

Have been feeling a bit better, although still occasionally being a bit sick....but it got a bit worse again last night, then DD has come down with a stomach bug! She kept waking last night to be sick, so I slept with her, ready with the sick bowl. Today we are both on the sofa with a duvet!

Lots of hugs for everyone x

southpacificfish · 18/11/2010 13:17

Sad Thell hope you both stop being sick soon.

pistachio bread maker sounds fab and I totally agree about wanting to be able to control what's going into the kids.

Loopy you have to keep the salt water thing going and do it 3 times a day to keep the cold away! And yes, loving the history programs too.

Littlemilla Nice going on the baking front! Love my sleep too and still getting up once or twice in the night but DD is also disturbing me because she's lost her softee in the night and can't be arsed to look for it herself!

MW coming round tomorrow for 16 week check (well technically I'll be nearly 17 weeks...). Not sure when I'm supposed to get the 20 weeks scan appt through from the hospital so must remember to ask...

Loopy Yes I know, not sure why they're doing home visits these days! It may be because the MWs round here are always driving around seeing the newborns etc and cover such a huge area they might as well do home visits for pregnancies too! Certainly shan't be complaining. Sounds like you've found yourself a great MW today, hope you get a change of appt ok.

Bonkerz · 18/11/2010 17:53

Got a doppler today.
had midwife this morning who didnt really do anything. Told her i was feeling disconnected and anxious about baby but she sort of laughed at me :(
AntiBs are working and have felt much better today.
Have tried twice now to find jellybaby.....found the whooosh of the placenta and just now got alot of growling and gurgling which i presume is active jellybaby jumping about (had a very cold glass of water to get it moving) but have yet to find a heartbeat but i presume all must be ok in there or the placenta wouldnt work.....would it?

cowboylover · 18/11/2010 17:56

LittleMilla I will be thinking of you on my tinkle trip (as DH calls it) as whatever time I go to bed I get up around 4 to 4.40 for a wee then back to bed. I only wish we had a toilet upstairs as our bathroom is on the ground floor at the back of the house!

pistachio I am the same as you, not sik anymore but totally starving! I could eat all the time so I am being careful, now watching Hairy Bikers cookoff, which is my fav and DH told me to shut up as I have commented how nice everything looks Grin

Loopymumsy Sounds interesting and shocking when it comes to that but honesty is refreshing! My consultant is fab and he recommended I go back in for my MW bloods not on a Monday unless I mind a weight leture from the old MW and nicer ones on a Friday; hence my visit tomorrow.

All who asked: Thanks so much! I was very brave and went to the dentist on my own (I usually make my mum come with me)for my filling in my back teeth and back again in a few weeks for some work on the front. He is ssoooo nice and I found the combination of the green glasses and his soothing voice he did wonders. I do have a NHS dentist who specialises in nervous patients. He must have been very trusting as I didnt have to show any proof of pregnancy or card (besides my little bump) at all so I didnt have to pay. Not to sound like a freeloader but I am going to make the most of the treatment over the next few months!

Getting excited for Christmas this year for the first time in years and I cant believe how quikly the time is going and I am now 14 weeks already, at this rate all our babies will be starting to arrive in no time Grin

Off out for food as a treat with BIL and SIL later so have a great night all and its nearly the weekend! Woo hoo!

jbells · 18/11/2010 18:10

evening all, i have been feeling ok today a little bit tired, and once the sun goes down im ready for bed, prob shud have rested while DD was at nursery but instead learnt how to make a lovely curry from scratch amazing how many ingredients u need! so tonite me and DP will be having a nice fattening meal of curry rice, popodoms and naan bread :) then did a tesco trip the tidied house then booked in at new hospital so will be having another scan on tues of nxt week think i may take my mum with me to this one

BONKERS- i dont really feel any attatchment to the baby yet and at times i forget im pg, i think the attachment will come more when we can see them moving around inside us and feel them all the time, do u mind me asking was the doppler expensive and where u got it from i wud quite like one

LOOPY- that is stupid that the consultant cud be anti HB its shud be the individuals decision and they shud just be there to support it no matter what there individual opinion is Angry

SOUTHPACIFIC-how nice that your midwife does home visits, i think u get a letter in the post a couple of wks b4 u get to 20 wks

THELL-hate stomach bugs, hope it doesnt spread whenever my DD gets a tummy bug i always catch it hope u both feel better soon

Bonkerz · 18/11/2010 18:22

jbells, i have actually rented it for 2 months, less than £20 and will send it back after my 20 week scan. I just felt i needed to do something to bring me and my DCs a little closer to the baby right now!

jbells · 18/11/2010 19:34

bonkers- oh right thanks i looked on ebay for one and they had some to rent for 10 pound for a month, i mite invest will have to check how u send them back, hope u manageto get to listen to the heartbeat soon, how far along r u the midwife sed to me its hard to get a heart beat b4 14 wks

Cowboy Isn't it a massive pain in the butt having to go downstairs for a wee in the middle of the night?! Am in the same boat as you and our steep cottage steps are an absolute nightmare! Remember waddling down at nearly nine months cursing the hell out of the bathroom being downstairs last time!

Thanks Jbells re letter from hospital info.

Reaaaaaaaaaaallllly want to walk out there with no major concerns
will touch in again later

jbells · 19/11/2010 08:54

hope all goes well with your scan QWERTY

sesamesmith · 19/11/2010 10:36

Yeah - finally got Downs risk - 1 in 53,000. Three cheers for first-time older mums! (and lots of tennis to keep fit...)

Lungs still full of crap from bronchitis, but amazing how much of a pick-me-up a bit of good news is. Now we can tell people at last Grin

Thanks for all your well wishes - it's really helped me get through the last 2 weeks of utter hell!

Re midnight bathroom visitations - I think I've got the record - 5 times in one night, possibly due to waiting for news on my new niece, born yesterday, possibly also due to snorring hubby... Not sure about the 'facitilies' Loopy - hubby might not appreciate either the tinkling or the aroma...!

Good luck Qwerty - it'll be fab xxx

Good luck qwerty and congratulations sesame, that's fab news. Grin

LittleMilla · 19/11/2010 14:31

seaseme and southpacific I am actually quite legendary with my pro sleeping capabilties and everyone is laughing and who i'll cope with a little one.

ALl i know is that I LOVE my boots earplugs and cannot sleep without them. You only need one cut in half (unless you have massive ear holes!) and then you chuck after a coupld of nights. Once pack lasts ages.

www.boots.com/en/Boots-Muffles-Wax-Earplugs-5-pack_6330/

Warning though - once you start with them it's nigh-on impossible to sleep without.

But it means we could be broken in to and I wouldn't have a scooby. Whihc I think is great...but might think differentl when the lil one arrives Hmm x

QwertyQueen · 19/11/2010 14:34

hi guys....
oh so jealous of your rate Sesame! Well done!!!
I went in with a 1:142 because of my age, and came out with 1:332 after measurements.... so good but not brilliant...
She said I could have an amnio if I wanted but the risk of that is 1:300.
We have decided to go back in 5 weeks and she will do another scan which will have more markers, and then we can decide.
The baby looked perfect on the VERY THOROUGH scan though. Wow, so different from 1st born in the UK. And......
it is a girl! :D
I am delighted about that.
Gut instinct says she is fine..... but I will worry naturally.
Next scan on Christmas eve!
Thanks for your thoughts, they mean a lot...
