May I join? Had dating scan yesterday and was 12 weeks yesterday Hmm. Forgot to ask about due date, but some people very kindly responded on a thread I started, and should be 18 May.

doireallywant3 · 04/11/2010 17:17

13 weeks tomorrow and my sex drive has returned..... woohoo! DH loving my less sore but massive boobs!! (well, big for me, prob a 34c now, but what a novelty!)

Bonkerz · 04/11/2010 18:12

keep going on the other thread and forgetting about this one!

I made it to 12 weeks!
HAd scan and all is fine with jellybaby, due around 15th May but consultant has agreed to ceasarian around 8th May.
Have next scan on new years eve and we will find out the sex of jellybaby then!
Tummy is growing, energy is low and sickness is horrendous, had to get tablets today to try and stop being sick so hopefully i can start eating again soon. have lost 8lb+ in 10 days which isnt such a bad thing but leaves me feeling rubbish!
Am now going to go back and read this thread and try to be a better poster!

HotButteredToast · 04/11/2010 18:44

Oh dear. If tahini and thus humous is dodgy then I'm in terrible trouble. Woman cannot live on tzatziki along so that was my second virtuous dip of choice.

Bonkers well done with scan and healthy jellybean! I hope the nausea subsides soon.

In other news hormones have reduced me to a sniveling heap. A certain well known mobile phone company - whose advertising campaigns in the past may have included mob dancing of Liverpool St Station - have a new one with lots of singing at Heathrow T5 arrivals.
www.youtube.com/user/lifesforsharing?v=NB3NPNM4xgo&feature=pyv&ad=7639151746&kw=t%20mobile%20heathrow

And seeing everyone so happy and with such wonderful, jolly songs... well, I've been weeping like (dare I say it?) a baby.

Or maybe it's just the relief of being able to eat again after fasting before dread glucose test this morning. As predicted though, I'm now looking like that extra from Trainspotting.

Also had first midwife antenatal appointment. Errmmm... has anyone else found them rather, how shall I say, perfunctory?

cowboylover · 04/11/2010 18:48

pistachio Think some countries still ban them and the OP was in New Zealand so must be different there

doireallywant3 I really hope my comes back soon as I miss it but cant be bothered!

Im looking forward to having a day off work tomorrow and going shopping with my Mum and then off visiting family in Gloucester for the weekend so will be fun. I need some pampering so I feel some serious maternity shopping coming ion Grin

DontWorryBaby · 04/11/2010 19:03

Toast very much so! My midwife didn't notice me filling up as she told me the sonographers who carry out the 20wk scans are only picking up one in four cardiac anomalies. Its not a precious baby to them. I try not to let it spoil my excitement!

thell · 04/11/2010 19:08

Hello everyone - scan today was just amazing Grin
Saw our baby wriggling around, stretching out and sucking thumb...heard and saw heartbeat, etc.
So so happy - just have to try to hang on to the feeling that it's real now Smile

Also met independent midwife, who is lovely. DH says he is happy to go ahead if it's what I want, but he really doesn't see the need - so I feel guilty choosing Yes. May have to think about it some more. Such a lot of money.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 04/11/2010 19:49

Interesting about independent midwife. What are the advantages? I was lucky last time as midwife lives down the street and was happy to have me supply her with muffins and coffee on her way to work and do home visits Grin

southpacificfish · 04/11/2010 19:59

Doh re Tahini!! Of course it's sesame seeds and not peanuts! Thanks for correction Pistachio.

Personally, the only things I avoid in pg are sushi, raw eggs and pate. Seafood is fine if cooked properly and there is a rumour about peanuts not getting digested properly and passing through umbilical cord to baby but I don't eat them very often anyway so not worrying. I'm sure tahini and humous are fine - I'm still eating humous and did through last pg and she's turned out ok Wink

Full of energy tonight! Woohoo!!!

Ooh, hello ilovemydog - I suggested 17th May on your thread, but ignore - the midwives at my appointment added it up wrong Hmm Blush

LittleMilla · 05/11/2010 19:29

Hello all,

Just spend the last half an hour catching up on everyone's news. Had a flipping manic week and am sat here with tear stained eyes having bawled my eyes out at 'pregnant at 16'. The poor girl had to give her baby up for adoption and it was the trigger I needed to wail about my shyteous week.

It's been lovely reading about everyone's news. crazydayz I am strangely jealous of you having twins. I know I go back on that once I have the baby. But yeah, for now I am.

LoopsyMummy - I am yet to get my mojo fully back again. Been 'putting out' (which I know is a RANK term) every week nonetheless. Not because my DH is an arse. I jjust know that we tend to get along better when we have the physical closeness, so have been getting on with it! Also, by DH seems to find me the hottest thing ever right now...so the flattery is usually enough to warm me slightly! Ha. Sorry if TMI. Hmm

Think I've got an ear infection so home alone rather than braving fireworks fun. On my cycle home tonight I actually thought "enough of this", but will prob keep going a little longer.

Oh, and to mummywilliams' question about jobs. I work in a PR. Which I love, but is quite fast paced and not really suited to new mums or pregant ppl to be honest. Muddling on though and have felt much more on my game the last week. After 8 weeks of meandering thoughts.

Love to all xx

sesamesmith · 05/11/2010 20:50

Hi All. Sounds as if most people are coming out of the sickness stage? Mine's still there with nobs on!

Just found out that my dumbo sister has told her 11 year old daughter, who is on Facebook with our stepson, who doesn't yet know. How insensitive is that?! We now have to bring on when we tell him instead of leaving it as late as possible/timing it right. Any advice most welcome on that...

Re headaches - sympathy there - first for many years. Bring on Christmas hols, eh?

Re scans - we've only had them for 30 years and people successfully had babies before that, but it certainly was driving me off the rails not having had one. Normal is at approximately 12 and 20 weeks. The midwife/doc can tell if things are in the wrong place by feeling around.

Hubby and I got fab display of fireworks from our loft window as too lazy to walk over to footie club in the rain - don't feel we missed much...

Positive vibes to everyone :-)

southpacificfish · 05/11/2010 22:51

Everyone does seem a lot more positive and less sick and tired over the past couple of days which is good! me included (although was sick this morning - but I knew I would be because I didn't eat before I got hungry IYKWIM and at least there's no nausea, I just know I'll be sick in the next 10 mins!)

15 weeks on Sunday which is nearly 4 months which seems very very pg all of a sudden. Developed bump today (odd that it happened in one day, may have been to do with large dinner??!) DH has been very good and helpful all week so everything at home nice and happy.

Hope everyone has enjoyed some fireworks, can still hear the odd bang going off from Lewes as I lie here in bed typing.

Sesame sounds a bit tricky with your stepson, can't offer you any helpful advice I'm afraid, but I guess you're going to have to tell your stepson asap to stop him hearing it through fb. How old is he? Do you think he'll be upset or happy?

Loopy also had half a glass of champers tonight at MIL's birthday dinner. Shhhhh I won't tell if you don't!

Justtrying · 06/11/2010 08:14

Lovely to hear everyone's news, just caught up after a busy week, had my combined test on monday, results back as 1:14,000 so pleased about that. Travelling 4 hours today to visit my gramps, 95, who is in hospital, taking our scan piccy to try and cheer him up.

I'm looking forward to being back in work next week, due to the nature of my work we are on home leave for the first 12 weeks then on office duties a couple of days a week, as due to H&S we can't carry out our primary role, it will be great to catch up with everyone.

Must dash, promised DH a cooked brekkie before we set off.

MummyWilliams · 06/11/2010 10:55

Hi! All

Southpacific stepson is 14, very bolshy. He'll be ok, I think, if we catch him at the right moment, but with a 14-y-o, it's like trying to get a fly to settle on a cushion so you can talk to it!

mummyw thought it had been quiet. Hope you're ok xxx

jbells · 06/11/2010 12:35

ilovemydogandMrObama · 06/11/2010 13:29

Amazing. Yesterday evening, DH collected DD from school, made DS and DD dinner, put them to bed, ordered a takeaway Thai Smile and I went to bed around 20:00 Blush. Feeling much better today, or at least more energetic, so we went on a 2 mile walk. Hmm The last bit was uphill and both DCs wanted to go in buggy, so am not feeling so energetic anymore....

jbells so sorry. Is there anything that makes you feel better? Bath with Neal's Yard Lavender Bath Salts? Chocolate? Am going to listen to the afternoon play and do laundry.
