Woop, woop Moonstorm and Hermya congratulations!!! moon well done on getting vbac, sonplwased that worked out for you. H, you got a due date baby! Same birthday as my sister. Lovely name too. The boys are catching up now aren't they?

I'm at my mums for half term. Have just woken up to feed after thinking I had just dropped off for half an hour or so - the bedside light was still on. I fed dd lying down last time about four hours ago and meant to turn over to give her the other side but clearly just slept instead. This is not good considering her weight situation. I keep sleeping through a bit at night. Tomorrow I'm aiming to mostly stay on bed if my mum will take charge of ds. My cold is not great, getting a bit chesty so hoping to try and sleep it off a bit.

Silver - I haven't got an oct baby remember!

Yay for H and Asher! Loving the name.

Myself and HI are struggling with names again. The ones we liked we are not so sure about AGAIN!! Arrgghhhh !

Still not a single inkling of a baby arriving ANY time soon.

shieldbug · 25/10/2010 08:17

Hooray! More babies!

Congratulations moonstorm so glad the vbac went well. Any name ideas yet?

Hermya congratulations and a cool name choice.

Looking forward to hearing birth stories soon.

Vikks any news? I'm so hoping that the last sweep worked for you.

Hope that you all escape the tummy bugs and other nasties going around at the moment. floozie hope you feel better soon and Zazie puts on more weight. I can't believe that soon some babies will be a month old!

Silver I know how you feel. 40+9 and not a single contraction. There's no way this baby is going to make a move of its own accord. I'm getting plenty of pains, but they're caused by a baby moving around in a very confined space with fibroids and other sensitive bits to impact on!

Induction starts Weds evening and frankly I can't wait; even if it is a difficult experience I just need to get it over with now.

shieldbug · 25/10/2010 08:19

Sorry, meant to wish you all the best for your appointment today Bionic and to Silver for your sweep.

SilverSky · 25/10/2010 08:39

Thank you Bug. Since the two cramps last week I have not had a single twinge and as one chum told me the longer they stay in the bigger they get. Gee thanks for that piece of info!

So it's Monday again and I finished work a month ago! Trust me I am happy to not be at work and could get used to it however I would like this child to show some enthusiasm for wanting to meet me!!!

HI is not feeling great. Sore throat. He is officially a miserable oik. Plus he refused to turn the radio down when I was on the phone earlier and I have poor hearing and was struggling to hear the person on the other end. Git. Then he had the cheek to ask what they said. My reply " well I couldn't bloody hear them so I have no idea ". Sometimes I could scream. You never know being as he's got on my nerves today could be the day! That would work out well wouldn't it -going into hossie on an argument!!!!

nymphadora · 25/10/2010 08:47

Congrats hermya & moon Grin

Xavielli · 25/10/2010 09:01

Congrats Hermya and moon so glad you have your babies!

Elsa123 · 25/10/2010 09:33

Congratulations Hermya and Moon. Hermya you and I both had babies with impeccable timing!

Floozie, I know what you mean about the waking up thang. My baby doesn't really wake to feed and if she did it would be far greater spans of time than 3 hourly. As she was little at birth I was trying to feed her every 2-2.5 hours but I've given up with that as she's just not interested and I've slipped to 3 hourly feeds which is working out so much better.

Good luck today Bionic and Silver I had a sweep when I first went to hospital with contractions one in every 5 that died away when I arrived. The sweep was absolutely fine and not at all uncomfortable. What was really really sore was when the mw externally felt for where the baby's head was. That made me sit up and cry out. My community mw was much more gentle.

Vikks · 25/10/2010 10:57

Congratulations Hermya & Moonstorm I'm totally thrilled for you, enjoy those little babies! x x

Bionic & Silver I were hope your sweeps work and the wait is soon over.

Unfortunately my 4th sweep doesn't seem to have worked, it just made me bleed. I'm sat around now praying that the hospital can get me in tonight to start my induction. I feel sick with nerves. I'm nervous they might be able to get me in and nervous that they won't! If they do, they said that I would be given the pessary overnight on the ward so I will hopefully be labouring by the next morning. DH can't stay with me through the night which will be very upsetting, but I'll do anything now. Fingers crossed I'm cuddling my little Harry by tomorrow. x
40+12!

shieldbug · 25/10/2010 11:30

Oh vikks I do hope they can get you started tonight and the pessary works. No matter what, it won't be long before you are enjoying newborn cuddles with Harry. ((hugs)).
Thinking of you.

rollerbaby · 25/10/2010 11:34

Congrats Moon and Hermya! Hope you are loving your baby cuddles!

I'm still here 39+1 and nowt happening... can't believe it will anytime soon either.

Good luck tonight Vikks just make sure your OH sleeps with phone under the pillow in case you need him... Did they say you could call him in when things start happening?

Elsa123 · 25/10/2010 11:55

Good luck Vikks. Trust me on this one, try to relax, nerves and adrenalin tend to delay labour as your body thinks its in danger and won't put itself in the vulnerable position of labour. Thats why labour often dies away when we go to hospital. Try to relax and positively look forward to birth. Not easy I know. x x

Don't forget there is analgesia available!

BionicEar · 25/10/2010 12:02

Moonstorm and Hermya congratulations on your bouncing babies!

Wriggly Bump is being active today - yay! So won't need to go into hossy today for monitoring - just have to go tomorrow (Tues) to see consultant.

Vikks here's hoping action happens for you tonight. Smile This is wher we could do with a thumbs up sign isn't it?!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/10/2010 13:20

Good luck Vikks bionic and silver- I hope it all goes well for you all :) Vikks, it can't be long!

AbFabT · 25/10/2010 13:33

Congratulations Moonstorm, and Hermya with the fabulously named Asher! Bet you are happy now! :)

Good luck to Vikks, Bionic and Silver - ooh, may we get three announcements soon?!

Am envious of those who have mastered feeding laying down - DS is having none of it, which means I have to sit upright during the night, which isn't as restful. Hopefully he'll take to it when he's a little bigger. I am grateful he's feeding well and looks to be thriving. I set an alarm through the night to make sure we don't go longer than four hours without a feed, he usually wakes up just before it goes off, occasionally we only get two hours, but mostly he's fairly regular with his feeding requests.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 25/10/2010 14:50

Hi all. Good luck with the imminent labours and inductions.

Saw doc today. Baby is ready. We're just waiting for me to start contractions now. Was lovely as ds1 is off sick so came with me. Doc got him to help her with the ultrasound and he identified the head and the heart and tummy. Bless him.

SilverSky · 25/10/2010 15:36

Afternoon ladies. I've been to my appt and frankly the mw couldn't do the s&s as cervix is firmly closed. She says labour is not even a glimmer at the mo. She could feel the head but when she touched it the head floated back.

It would seem I am carrying a lot of water and she said this may be making it difficult for the baby to engage fully as it's still 3/5ths.

I feel very disheartened. Spoke to HI after and he was firing loads of questions at me that I didn't know he answer to which annoyed him so I got annoyed back and now I don't want to talk to him. He could have always come to the appt with me of course. Bloody men.

Looks like the hossie will insist on induction which means labour ward. Gutted.

I feel very teary and it doesn't help that loads of people are asking me if I have any news yet. I want to tell them all to shove off.

Sorry it's all me me me.

rollerbaby · 25/10/2010 16:30

Oh silver try not to get disheartened. Although I completely understand. There are zillions of positive induction/epidural stories on here. There isn't one way to do this, and I guess that's sometimes the frustration when you're expecting it to happen the way you want. totally understandably.

What did the MW say next steps are? Presumably they will leave you be until 42 weeks? I wouldn't let them do anything until that point - there's plenty of chance that he or she will make their own mind up before then still. Lots of walks good thing I think (says she sat on the bleedin sofa).

Sorry you're feeling blue poppet. Ignore HI, he's probably feeling a burk for not coming now. xxx

floozietoozie · 25/10/2010 16:40

Aw Silver hugs and have a good cry if need one. It might take some of the tension away. Bloody men indeed!

I'd love to know how I sometimes effortlessly get the latch right and just can't other times. It all seems so hit and miss. Dd is crying quite a lot whenshe comes off or goes on qyite often and I can't put her down very easily - really wondering if she has reflux as she is bringing up quite a bit at times. Then don't know if she is just hungry.

Dilly ......? Spotted Fingon in a bf thread tge other day so she's still around but having some difficulties. Hello F if you are reading this.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 25/10/2010 17:02

silver I really feel for you. And really men can be soooooo insensitive. Btw my ds3 was only 3/5 when i was in active labour and 5cm dilated. Easier said than done but try not to fret. Have you thought about acupuncture or reflexology to help you release?

Vikks · 25/10/2010 17:21

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies, I think it worked! I've just had the call. I've go to go in now. They said bring everything with me because I'm not leaving without my baby! Hopefully by this time tomorrow I'll be holding Harry....I'm so scared! Smile x

rollerbaby · 25/10/2010 17:25

GOOD LUCK!!! xxx

shieldbug · 25/10/2010 17:31

Good luck vikks Just look forward to holding your little Harry.
