Thanks everyone esp. seashells my heart nearly broke when I saw you had used it - didn't want you to think I was copying but had to go with it as have loved it for so long. Obviously we both just have excellent taste!

Vikks just missed you... so so sorry it hasn't happened yet really know how you feel I was despondent too but they all come out in the end - I just tried to forget about my due date and focused on the last possible date ie. if induced etc. that would meet her - so many countries count term at 42 weeks. But I guess it's easy for me to say...

Do we have a postnatal thread? Can someone who is good at this sort of thing post a link if possible/time?

x

sam12 · 23/10/2010 01:16

Ivy and sea that was my top choice for name too so I agree that you have excellent taste! Unfortunately dh wasn't up for it but I deliberately didn't use it as a middle name cos I will work on him for next time- if there is ever a next time.

Don't know about a post natal thread as I am no good at that type of thing either and gave no computer at the moment so I too would find it useful for a link if there is one.

Anyway best go I can't seem to fill dd today she has fed and fed- maybe it's a growth spurt?

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 23/10/2010 02:50

Ivy - glad we both have good taste! It's such a lovely name :)

There is a postnatal thread ready and waiting (if I can find it that is) but we are hanging out here for now all together (I think)

It has just started chucking down with rain and poor Ds has his bday tomorrow and we were going to a farm for a treat - I hope it clears up soon :(

SamanthaB123 · 23/10/2010 05:53

Morning everyone,

After feeling awful with nothing to wear yesterday we went far a short shopping trip in the afternoon. It was great to get out of the house and I am delighted to say that Ruby is a good shopper...what else would she have been?! We spent quite a bit of money (£200+) and at the till DH made some comment like 'that's a lot, can you do anything about the price?'. They gave us 15% off as a baby congratulations! It was a regular clothing chain sort of store. How fab is that?! Feeding at the moment but thought I'd share!

nymphadora · 23/10/2010 07:42

Ooh SamB which shop?

Congrats ivy & elsa

BionicEar · 23/10/2010 09:18

Oooh quite a few babies have arrived since I last pop in here! Smile So thrilled for all of you who have produced and announced in the last few days.

With regarding to bf - one thing I do recall is usually about day 3 or 4 baby get massively hungry and wants to feed alot - think that when the proper milk kicks in? Be interested to know how many of us experience that?

SamB - wow bet you love that clothes shop now as does DH?!!!

Apart from a few twinges, nothing happening here. Have now started on Raspberry Leaf Tea tablets! Am convinced this baby will not arrived on due date - says in a whisper - "am testing out reverse psychology on baby!" Wink

Have booked man to lay carpet in baby's room on due date and gas man to do annual service checks on gas appliances. You see how positive I am that baby will arrive on due date with all these appointments?! Tee hee!

Right best go and get sorted, as DD got a B'day party to attend and at this rate will be going in her jims jams unless we get cracking!

Have a good day ladies with babies and bumps!

nymphadora · 23/10/2010 09:24

Bionic- my milk came in day 3/4.

Hermya321 · 23/10/2010 10:23

Congratulations to those who've given birth in the past couple of days.

SamB Oooo bargins are always good!!

Elsa Thank you for sharing your birth story, it's nice to hear them as it helps to lessen the fear (well it does for me anyway).

As for me, I had a full on day full of cramps yesterday and have woken up this morning to irregular contractions. Well I think they're contractions, my tummy tightens and it hurts more than the cramps did. My doula said I'm probably in slow labour which is fine, I can take that. We're getting somewhere, just very very slowly. So I'm still ignoring it as I don't want to get my hopes up as things keep tailing off for me. Oh well, I'm off to eat some cake. I hope all is well for everyone today!!

It's inevitable that a few of us will have the same name choices! Imogen is really nice.

I wouldn't mind if someone On MN had the same as me tho not sure I'd feel quite the same if it were a NCT buds baby as that could prove bit impractical??? HI said we'll cross that bridge when we come to it and you never know we may not come to it!

Absolute jack going on here birth wise.

Elsa I like both names but prefer Holly as the Christian name.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 23/10/2010 12:26

Well, have had very strong bh contractions for the past hour and am lying down now so they're ok. Bags been put in the car by my dad and dh is at supermarket. Will go to hospital when dh is back to check what's going on. They're not busy apparently. Ah the joys of a private hos pital.

Tyson86 · 23/10/2010 12:51

Congrats to Elsa and Ivy

Lovely to hear that baby was a good weight in the end Ivy as i know you had been worried not that long ago :) Lovely name choice

Elsa your birth story sounds very tiring and Im glad you had such good staff on, your consultant sounded nice. I prefer Holly Bronwen. :)

Thirdtimer · 23/10/2010 13:38

Well at least some people are getting somewhere! Congrats to those that are! I had terrible night of pain after sweep yesterday so thought it might lead to something... then this morning it seems to have all worn off. Bum. Thinking the reverse psychology is a good idea too... so have had a long bath, am delightfully clean and fresh, wearing best pants and new trousers (guaranteed to have the waters breaking right?) and am planning to unpack the hospital bag next so I am definitely NOT ready. Then it's bound to happen surely...!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 23/10/2010 14:32

Elsa-I know a lovely Holly do am very biased to that name!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 23/10/2010 15:57

Just back from hospital. Nothing doing. But got a sweep. Yay!

nymphadora · 23/10/2010 16:00

Good luck third hermya & ILGH and anyone else who is having signs .

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 23/10/2010 19:10

Full moon tonight girlies!! Any progress? :)

SilverSky · 23/10/2010 19:39

Not a blooming sausage!!

shieldbug · 23/10/2010 19:52

me neither!

sam12 · 23/10/2010 19:53

Elsa think I'm in the minority here but I prefer bronwen Holly. Bronwen is a name you don't come across very often.

Hope the full moon shifts some babies!

Vikks · 23/10/2010 20:07

I hope this full moon works! Confused

40+10! And nothing.......again.....

Xavielli · 23/10/2010 20:37

BionicEar · 23/10/2010 20:54

Well I spoke too soon didn't I?! Baby decided to play "Sleeping Lions" again today so had to go in to be monitored. Of course the moment we went in, baby started throwing some moves! Grin

What was interesting is that they were picking up that I was having some contractions, so looks like my body getting ready.

They decided to send me home again, but as this is the 3rd time I've been in for the "Sleeping Lions" game, they are talking about inducing baby - yikes! Got to go back tomorrow, if baby not being Mr Wriggly Bump then they will probably induced me tomorrow Gulp! If baby behaving, then will have to wait until Consultant appointment on Tues and he will advise what best plan of action is. So want to avoid being induced if I can, so telling Wriggly Bump to get shifting! Grin

Gasman came today instead of Thurs as had a spare slot available. Maybe that confused baby into thinking it was the day to start making some moves?! Grin

Right well I shall wander off and make sure house in order, in case they do decide to keep me in tomorrow. Got DH doing the ironing right now, so that's one less theing to worry about.

Will keep you posted.

floozietoozie · 23/10/2010 22:52

Elsa I would go for Bronwen Holly too.

Bionic good luck if they do end up inducing. Hope not - maybe the moon will kick it off for you.

Ivytheterrible · 24/10/2010 02:58

The joys of middle of night feeding!

After a day of generally being cute whenever people have dropped she turned into devil child about 11.30 and has just stopped screaming despite having fed on and off for a total of 50 minutes since then. I'm hoping it is just the milk kicking in/increased hunger thing some of you have mentioned.

elsa my sister is a holly. Love it. It was between Imogen and ivy for my name choice. Dh not so keen on ivy but I thought it would be great to have one of each in immediate family. One to save for next time- ha ha.

Lots of promising signs elsewhere so I'm sure well have babies by Monday
