nymphadora · 29/10/2010 09:35

hermyathat's why I asked. You mentioned before you were concerned about it.

floozietoozie · 29/10/2010 10:29

Hermyajust reread your birth story. PMSL at the Jordan fairy. You should trademark that!

rollerbaby · 29/10/2010 11:00

hermya well done you, sounds like you did fantastically despite it not going as you said you hoped. You just can't predict things like head position and I am trying to keep that in mind! Also great that PN care was so good.

Xav hope this is it for you! Lots of relaxing and comedy on TV ok!!! Apparently gets the oxytocin going...

I had 3 crampy feelings last night in bed, but nowt this morning so must have been BH. Boo.

Hermya321 · 29/10/2010 11:45

Nymph I think at that point, I was just happy to see the fella with the drugs Grin.

Honey Ooooooo but each BH is another step closer to the baby Smile. Labour is such an unknown isn't it, you just can't predict whats going to happen.

Xav I seriously hope this is it for you, if you can get a bit of a snooze and eat some carbs. They're good for energy.

Just seen the midwife, DS is doing well and has only lost two oz since birth.

Hey peeps. ds2 Finn, arrived at 12.44pm today! 8lb exactly and is rather lovely. thanks for letting me borrow zazies due date flooze.

SamanthaB123 · 29/10/2010 14:54

Hi,

I'm rubbish at posting at the moment. I am reading all the news when feeding in the night but posting one handed on an iphone while feeding is beyond me.

I'm really glad to here all the new announcements though - well done Hermya and Vikks. Who is still left to have their babies? I've lost track a bit and haven't had time to update the list at all. Maybe next week when everyone is back at school and work...

All is well here, some trouble with my boobs but Ruby is doing extremely well which is the most important part. I am feeling a bit sleep deprived, but am ok. Sometimes I just cry for no reason and I guess the reason really is that I'm tired and my hormones are all over the place. Anyone else finding themsevles in floods of tears over nothing?

Good luck to everyone waiting, nearly there now, SB x

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 29/10/2010 15:00

Yey Xav!!congratulations :) enjoy those baby snuggles

rollerbaby · 29/10/2010 15:06

Crikey that was quick xav! Congrats!

sam12 · 29/10/2010 15:26

Congratulations xav that's lovely news.
nymph the tommee tippee manual one had got the best reviews. I managed to express every feed for a week with it and still use it at nights. It's also cheap.
Baby crying best go

RooBear · 29/10/2010 15:35

hey everyone, finally recovered from the stitches and feeling a bit more human again!

congrats to the new arrivals vikks and xav

had some worries this week as erin was losing weight rather than gaining despite BF very well. pleased to say she has finally turned a corner and gaind 4oz in less than 24hrs! yeah we now finally have the weekend without and midwife vists as they've been coming every day.

hermya your story sounds similar to mine only I didn't need a transfusion. Its amazing how much better I feel now the stitches are fading.

abfab can't believe your LO is 19days already! mind you can't believe Erin is 8 days today, its going so fast already!

RooBear · 29/10/2010 15:37

oh and sam I'm crying at random things right now, putting it down to exhaustion Smile

ILoveGregoryHouse · 29/10/2010 15:49

Yay xav! congratulations

This means I am going to be last doesn't it? Due date is tomorrow and not a peep from dd and I have a chest infection developed from the sinus infection. Bollocks to it all! Am off for a kip, thank God mum and dad are here to look after the boys.

nymphadora · 29/10/2010 15:51

Congrats Xav very quick Grin

SamB I'm majorly hormonal and have only just got up after dd3 & I returning to bed for the day after the shower packed up on me. This wasn't helped by dh bringing me a sandwich for lunch whilst he & kids had chips and cream cake sEnvy

Everyone seems to have very different schedules of MW visits. I only had 2 once I was home & 1 HV one.

nymphadora · 29/10/2010 16:01

Oh when we are all done can we have a birth olympics results. fastest, slowest , heaviest baby, lightest baby etc?

rollerbaby · 29/10/2010 16:05

gregory have a good sleep & dont worry I'm still behind you!

nymphadora · 29/10/2010 17:02

Just found dh the job he has been after (the website had it under a different area & I've been looking alkl around the site) and it closes today at 5:30. He is at the pool with the kids and hasn't taken his phone

SamanthaB123 · 29/10/2010 17:07

Xav I cross posted with you but didn't notice until we got back from our walk. Congratulations!

Nymph My labour was recorded as 1 hour and 13 minutes which is pretty quick!

DillyDora · 29/10/2010 18:08

Hi All,

Just the quickest post, it's been a roller coaster ride - had suspected pre-eclampsia so was taken in for induction on which was begun with Prostin on Oct 13th but Toby not born until Oct 18th! Yes, that's a really long labour ending in EMCS. But he's here, he's great... though we have been back in hosp again as he lost 12% of his birth weight and I still have high BP so after a couple of days at home back in we went for another 5 days. So, in the last couple of weeks I've only been home a couple of days. The MW was here today, have to express breast milk again and see if we can get it into him, I tried with the syringe today and he was having none of it - boob only, thanks Mum! His weight is going up but not fast enough (?!) desperately trying not to give formula/use a bottle and fortunately his pa is a whizz with the syringe, but if he has to have a bit of formula then so be it.

Nymph I think I win slowest labour in the birth olympics.

Haven't really had time to read posts but Roo I feel your pain over weight gain! Toby has fed non-stop the last 24hrs, the mw tells me it's normal....ok but I'm so sleep deprived!

more soon, congrats everyone on your babies
xxx

Vikks · 29/10/2010 20:42

Hi All!
I finally managed to read what I?ve missed. Time just flies by at the moment, I can just sit and watch H for hours. I?m totally loving Bfing snuggles, it?s one of the best things I?ve ever done. Plus, where do babies get that divine smell? I wish they could bottle it. Smile

Roo Congratulations on the birth of Erin. Your birth sounds very similar to mine.

Hermya Thanks for the birth story. Gorgeous picture.
The ?Jordan Fairy? hasn?t been here yet, MW thinks maybe tomorrow. Wink

Floozie Beautiful picture.

Xav Congratulations on Finn?s arrival!

SamB Teary here too, I feel like such an idiot sometimes crying over the smallest things.

Dilly Lovely to hear from you. Congratulations on Toby?s arrival, what a marathon labour, you must be in line for the gold medal!

Hermya321 · 29/10/2010 21:26

Dilly I think you win that particular medal. I'm sorry you've been through the wars, I hope things start to settle for you.

Vikks I know what you mean about the smell, DS just smells glorious.

Roo Oh I'm glad you told me about feeling better once the stiches disappear. I'm so looking forward to it.

Xav Congrats on baby Finn (great name btw)

Nymph Did you find DH in time.

I did briefly wonder when the 'Jordan Fairy' visited me what happened when she went and visited the actual Jordan Grin.

BackAgain · 29/10/2010 22:28

Congratulations to Vikks, Xav and Dilly

Dilly hope the feeding issues get better, it is so worrying when they lose so much weight

Hermya glad to hear you sounding upbeat after your labour, Asher is lovely :)

Nymph love the idea of birth olympics, can I put a request in for most comic moment (sometime you just have to see the lighter side of it). For me, it was having to step out of the birthing pool holding the umbilical cord - I must have looked a sight!

Has anyone else experienced a feeding frenzy about a week in? Lucas has been feeding every hour and a half/2 hours since the early hours. When he is on the expressed stuff he is having about 2 ozs a time and he is not staying on the breast long so am thinking it is an early growth spurt and he needs little and often

nymphadora · 29/10/2010 22:33

backagain Mw said growth spurt at 2 weeks but I'm sure dd3 did at 1 week too. Think it's to do with sorting out the milk to their demand.

Re umbilical cord apparently they had blunt scissors on mineHmm

Think we may have a winner on longest labour ( ladies that are left aren't going to want to beat that one!)
SamB is up for fastest labour but there is some potentials left!
Who was first baby? Zazie? And still waiting on the last one but nearly there now!

floozietoozie · 29/10/2010 22:42

Dilly SOOOOO pleased to hear from you and Shock Shock at the length of your labour. Congrats on Toby. Btw dd lost 16% of her birth weight and is nowhere near getting it all back yet and I'm still not giving her formula yet.

xav congrats on quick labour and Finn. I love that name and would have been happy with it if we'd had a boy but dp wasn't so keen.

Dd is all snuffly now with her cold bless her. Her milk spots are clearing up though and her complexion looks much better.

Is anyone else eating for Britain while bfing? Seriously there's no way it will be a weight loss mechanism for me. I'm just too hungry and also want the calories to ensure milk supply given my situation with dd.

floozietoozie · 29/10/2010 22:50

Nymph I think meansbeans was the first. I defi itely win the earliest baby gold (again!) so I wonder who was/will be the most overdue. Despite being the earliest by some distance though I don't think Zazie was the lightest.

Bed time. Knackered. Is anyone getting any sleep in the daytime at all?

AbFabT · 29/10/2010 23:20

Welcome, Finn. :) Congratulations, Xav.

Roo, the time flies indeed! DS is three weeks tomorrow. He's changed so much, really piled on the weight, and looks different for it. Can't believe how different life is. Wondrously so. :)

Hurry up, ILGH band honeymoo. Is there anyone else left?
