Ooo, pushy thoughts for silv! Could be a Hallowe'en baby per chance.

PollyPoo · 30/10/2010 20:07

Ooh how exciting, a new BESH baybee. Come on Silver, PPUUUSHHH!

Muser · 30/10/2010 20:10

Oh yay, baby time!

We are home. It was a lovely break. There was the spa thing. Then on Friday on had a nice walk along the Loch and then went to the pool and went down the water slide a bazillion times, which was ace. And I sat in the jacuzzi for a bit and managed not to faint, so that was cool.

Had a very posh meal. Six course tasting menu. Stuffed full of things I probably shouldn't have been eating, some on moral grounds as much as diffed (foie gras, I know I shouldn't). But god it was amazing. Perfect pregnancy portions as well, small amounts and spaced out nicely. And so pretty. I made TBG take photos of every course, in a subtle manner.

I am feeling a bit ouchy now though. Went for lunch on the way back to the airport and I managed to fall arse over tit. A very slow motion fall. Managed to spin to fall on my hip, the bruise does not match the ouch. And I have little bits of gravel stuck in my hand. Ouch.

Drom I hope you are feeling better now and spotting has gone. Have been thinking about you.

Scorpette · 30/10/2010 20:37

OUCH, Muse, I hope you and Bob are alright [hconfused]

OkieCokie · 30/10/2010 20:37

Welcome back muse and I a still jealous of your mini break, it sounds just fab. I have created a Christmas list (already) and on it is a mini break just like yours sans children. I just hope someone thinks I have been a good girl and deserves it. Also on list is a new bag, new boots and a new winter coat with a hood - girls a hooded coat is essential as pram pushing and umbrella holding is a nightmare...!

I have another cold and sore throat to go with my achy back. My son has not mastered hand over mouth while sneezing or coughing and does both in my face so I seem to have one every 2 weeks atm.

OkieCokie · 30/10/2010 20:40

Oh yes, sorry to hear about the fall Muse. I fell in the early days and landed on my knees then arse in quality spinning fashion. I think it was rots who said fortunately the baybee isn't in your knees or in you hip in your case!

Muser · 30/10/2010 21:00

I am fine thank you. Bob has been booting away so presumably fine as well. And I am about to have a nice bath so will hopefully ease the rest of the aches away.

Muser · 30/10/2010 21:04

You must go on a break Okie. Get a babysitter and go.

OkieCokie · 30/10/2010 21:06

Despite being the biggest Christmas lover ever, I do not approve of Christmas adverts in friggin October.

rollerbaby · 30/10/2010 22:29

Tell me about it. Can you imagine how bad it is for me? I normally have to start thinking about those things in September... Not this year! Ha ha.

Speaking of Xmas, we should plan a PESH/FESH Xmas shindig... Somewhere suitably louche with plenty of dirty martinis, mince pies and a large cupboard to stick the baybees buggies in. What do peeps think?

Muser · 30/10/2010 23:43

A Xmas do sounds rather lovely to me.

CluckyKate · 31/10/2010 07:45

Thinking of you Silvio - hopefully you've met your baby know & are basking in the awsome fact that you are now a mother!!!

Welcome, welcome Orchid. Perfect timing now that Silv has vacated a space, make yourself comfy.....lovey cupcakes BTW Smile

October is way too early for Christmassy stuff......unless it's organising a party. Brilliant idea Moo

AlpinePony · 31/10/2010 08:13

No such luck Kate , baybee is refusing to make an appearance. silver's had a very quiet night, she's having contractions but isn't feeling them. Docs are doing their rounds this morning and will be delivering their torture plan.

She sounds fed up, had a noisy neighbour across the ward last night and just wants her breakfast.

rollerbaby · 31/10/2010 08:15

Er "she's having contractions but isn't feeling them"?????????????

This is a BAD thing?

AlpinePony · 31/10/2010 08:27

haha I did too and Cossie was the same... then they decide "things aren't progressing quick enough" and then start really going for it. :(

Trouble with not feeling them (in my case) is that my uterus was contracting but my cervix remained like concrete...

Backinthebox · 31/10/2010 08:55

Bummer for Silver. This is the worst bit, wondering when and how the baby is going to come out. Once it's out, it's out, and in a few weeks time it really won't matter how or when. I saw a great description somewhere else - most women who haven't had children can't see just how much of a completely life-altering event having children is. Most other really important things in their life, like exams, job interviews, etc, have been like hurdles to overcome, so it is easy from the perspective of a pregant woman to focus on the childbirth as another hurdle, when in actual fact the birth is just a step in the path to a whole new life. My 2 were born in completely different ways, and you could say one was a good birth and one was a bad birth, but when you look back at it, it was the step I needed to take each time to get a fabulous whole new person in my life!

So go Silver, and if you are reading, don't worry - you'll come out the other side with a baby and your life will never be the same again!

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 31/10/2010 08:58

Exciting times around here! C'mon silver - hope it won't be long now. Sounds like a tough night though [hsad] - hope HI has been a rock of support. Hang in there!!

And honey tut tut. I have been watching out for news of further cramps. Nothing yet? Anyway, all the ones you have now are laying the ground work and the more you can get done before labour really starts the better[hwink]. No seriously, so the midwife said to me anyway...

orchid - welcome! Congratulations on diffment.

INteresting tip about the hooded coat okie - seems like an obviously good idea. T'is very rainy in these parts and I don't have one...By the way, hope the cold eases off.

I'm exactly 38 weeks today. News from me is that my "slime-prop" is gone or surely must be mostly gone at this stage. I had a kind of achy night on Friday and twinges off and on since then. And well, I'll spare you the details, but it's all been happening since then. Funny enough it's all show and no bloody, but apparently that's common enough. Anyway, close reading of mumsnet suggests it is a good sign but means little in terms of timing...

I'll be checking in later to see how the rest of you are doing. Muse that fall sounds horrible. Amazing how confounding and upsetting it is to fall as an adult. Hope you feel better. Sounds like it was an amazing weekend though. Lucky thing.

Muser · 31/10/2010 11:00

That is a good tip on hooded coat. Especially given how wet it can be in March/April when I should be pushing that pram.

Good luck Silver I hope things are starting to progress. And whatever happens, you will have a baby soon and that is the most amazing thing.

I am trying to decide what to do today. I may bake. Cookies. Oatmeal cookies. Like homemade hobnobs. And then I could eat them all while attempting to get more of this baby blanket knitted.

rocketleaf · 31/10/2010 11:18

That's a lovely post backindabox hadnt thought of it quite like that.

Cmon silver!!!! lay that baybee!

I am supposed to be on a big soup making, pickling and baking mission but got to get over massive hurdle of getting out of bed first. Escapades of the Ginger midnight caller kept us up last night so feeling very lazy sleepy today. muse please post oatmeal cookie recipe? Tb has gone off his porridge so need to find something to do with the large bag of oats he's left
